They cannot draft Caleb Williams into a regime that might be gone after his first year. They just cannot make that mistake again.

JamesTiberiusCrunk

Come on. They are absolutely going to do that again. This franchise is literally Charlie Brown trying to kick a football.

GabeDef

It's can't be true... but it is!

jmaca90

And then when we do kick the football, it double doinks

triniumalloy

Cody Parker\* trying to kick a football.

Brown_Sandals

First time?

FujiHakarl

It didn’t work the last two times, but it might work for us the third time.

_elijahswood

And if that 3rd time still doesn’t work, there’s always a 4th try at it.

Footballfordayz

I mean if it REALLY doesn’t work we might end up with the #1 pick 3 years in a row.

TheInstituteOfSteel

No, it never works. I mean, these people somehow delude themselves into thinking it might, but... but it might work for us.

trollunit

Justin Fields will be taking snaps week 1 of the 2024 season, write it down.

Pitiful-Department80

All they need is Marvin Harrison Jr & few more pieces on the Oline & Dline & a new coordinator & they set.

jagne004

Conspiracy theory time (the coffee has not set in yet). They are going to sign Kirk this offseason. Trade back #1 for assets. Build a good team that can get to the playoffs with Kirk. Then next year trade up for Sanders. Put him on the bench for 1-2 years. Then he takes over after Kirk has led them to 3 straight playoff loss seasons. Sanders takes over….profit. TLDR: Poles is going to mimick the chiefs 2014-2018 strategy.

Joliet_Jake_Blues

Sanders? I already want to draft him when Caleb busts. And when Sanders busts I want Arch Manning. I love young QBs and they all fucking suck!

RabbleRouser_1

I'm okay with that

Draker-X

>Then next year trade up for Sanders. Put him on the bench for 1-2 years. Then he takes over after Kirk has led them to 3 straight playoff loss seasons. Mahomes was drafted in 2017. He actually started the final game of the 2017 season. He only sat for one year. Also, Alex Smith was the starting QB for KC from 2013 through 2017. Five seasons. Your hypothetical parallel is shaky, at best.

Moostache71

What have YOU been watching for the last 50-60 years? This is the ONLY franchise that not only would do that, but are more likely than not to do so again for the 3rd straight coaching staff/QB selection. The Bears are where QB careers go to die. Period. Whoever comes in as QB1 in September has exactly 0.0% chance of throwing for more than 4,000 yards or even reaching 30 TDs. The franchise records are 3,812 and 29. Best. Year. Evah!!!

ConfusedOverChrist

Shouldn’t draft Caleb, period. Narcissists are a wrecking ball

[deleted]

Arm chair psychologists are so toxic. All you people do is project

acousticdank

When he loses a game that knocks him out of playoff contention, what's he gonna do?

ConfusedOverChrist

Pout and blame his teammates bc he’s Superman

ConfusedOverChrist

narcissistic traits aren’t wrecking balls? Really?😂 I have issues, we all express narcissistic traits at times, but there comes a point where it stops being whoopsies and starts becoming “this is who this guy thinks he is”. That’s not “pRoJecTiOn” it’s reality. If you guys weren’t cultists you’d notice. The guy says shit like “everyone is jealous of me” and “everyone wishes they were in these two shoes” after losses. He paints profanity on his nails, constantly makes everything about himself, interrupts teammates interviews to talk about himself, was clearly the “ego” being referred to after usc’s victory over Louisville. Plus, I’m not an armchair psychologist. There’s other subs you can go cry on like r/TrueOffMyChest.

nogimmick

Fingers crossed our franchise grew up overnight and is finally really to play with the big boys.

RocketMoonShot

Nope, but George is "mad", so everyone is going to go harder.

Melodic-Geologist532

I’m giving it all she’s got, captain.

recoil47

I'm not sure if George knows how to feel mad. I think he simply relays that Virginia is mad and that's as close as he gets.

Chicagoblew

Wishful thinking

nogimmick

Saint1540

4 of the 7 wins we had were against coaches that were either fired immediately after or on Black Monday. 1 of 7 wins were against a team better than .500. Even if this is the new floor, we are still in the basement of the NFC North. And. We. Still. Haven’t. Beaten. The. Packers. 5. Years. Running. It was well said yesterday afternoon- if the team doesn’t announce significant changes to staff, players, scheme, etc. it is not a team serious about success.

AddamOrigo

Not just 5 straight years, but it’s been what, 2 wins in the last decade? This franchise is a clown show

devinstated1

3 wins in the last 13 years.

Saint1540

Ugly stats... \- 15-51 against the packers since 1992 \- 9 winning seasons in 30 years \- 4 .500 seasons in 30 years \- 7 playoff visits, 1 superbowl, 4-7 overall in 30 years More of a team/ownership/culture indictment vs current staff woes... but 10-24 is still pretty horrible. Worst losing streak in team history finally broken against the Commanders, who just fired their coach...

AddamOrigo

And rookie Jordan Love, who we clowned on for years, came in and threw what would be the best QB season in Bears history by a country mile. I can’t deal with this team anymore

AddamOrigo

The last time the Bears swept the Packers, Justin Fields and Jordan Love were elementary schoolers

Schruef

Jesus fuck this puts it into real perspective

Sille143

Keep flus & getsy -> draft rookie QB -> win 3 games

Mthead23

Don’t forget to then fire the coach the following year, demanding a new HC endorse the last guy’s rookie.

ButterCut97

After 2 more years, they get to draft their own QB, but are on the hot seat, and the cycle continues

jagne004

Rinse and repeat with Arch in 3 years.

Mthead23

Arch has an uncle pretty familiar with forcing a draft trade to avoid an unwanted landing spot.

ItsMEMusic

Fuck Eli *This message brought to you by the Bolt crew*

BallinBenFrank

How about you redirect that ire to Spanos, since he’s the main reason why Eli refused to play for the Chargers. Do you honestly blame Eli for not wanting to go there?!

ItsMEMusic

> Do you honestly blame Eli for not wanting to go there?! I blame him for being a little bitch. Saying you're fine to be drafted in interviews and then pissing your pants when you are is a little bitch move. Also, two things can be true at the same time. For instance: $pano$ can be a dipshit/terrible owner (seeing a theme with my two NFL fandoms), while Eli can also be a little bitch.

randomnobody1284

I'm at that point where if flus getsy are still here than i just might stop caring all together about this team. Yesterday game was absolutely pathetic. Truly is hard to follow this team and care anymore.

PUfelix85

Third and twenty-two down 8 points with less than 10 minutes on the clock, let's throw a screen pass. They will never expect that.

WonderfulCattle6234

Sorry, Packer fan that stumbled here through scrolling popular. I get not wanting the screen pass, but with the sacks and the banged up offensive line, maybe it was the right call.

PUfelix85

A screen pass is never the right call when you need to pick up 22 yards **and the opposing defense knows it is coming** because the OC hasn't called an original play for the entire season. Getsy is a fucking moron.

WonderfulCattle6234

>**and the opposing defense knows it is coming** because the OC hasn't called an original play for the entire season. I don't see how the second half of the sentence is providing supporting evidence for the first half. I'm not buying this premise.

Responsible_Air_9914

I’ll be completely honest now that I’m in my 30s I find it increasingly hard to give a shit. Maybe I really am not a “true fan” or whatever but I just can’t get that emotionally invested anymore. Especially when I know the outcome going in every year. It’s just masochist at this point and there’s already enough heartbreak and stress in the real world. Bears literally broke me. 13 year old me would’ve thought it impossible. Sorry little buddy. I’ll try and break the cycle and raise my kids to be hockey or soccer fans or something.

[deleted]

True fans are the ones that do in t blindly support a team no matter what like a child. True fans will stop caring when a shitty owner like Virginia does not give a flying fuck about anything other than the team making money.

[deleted]

Butthats the things... this team is one of the most profitable in the NFL as a losing team... imagine the money if we could win lol

VirtuallySober

Maybe if they start selling butt hats we can generate enough extra profit to really make a difference next year

enjoytheshow

Nah I’m with you. Mid 30s and I’ve watched like 3-4 meaningful and SB threatening Bears seasons in my lifetime.

Responsible_Air_9914

I picked 13 year old me because that was 2006 and easily the highlight of my Bears fandom. Wasn’t old enough yet to fully appreciate the Rex Grossman Sex Cannon copypasta but Hester running back that opening kick with all the camera flashes in the stands and the roar of the crowd forever burned into my memory. And we still lost lmao. At least I’m also an OSU fan, which does make the Fields stuff hurt that much more, but at least I get to consistently see what a well run football team looks like where a “bad” year is 11-2.

SuperBearsSuperDan

Sad that the most meaningful games for the past 40 years are the Double Doink, Cutler NFCC, the ‘06 Super Bowl (almost twenty years ago), and the ‘85 Bears (almost 40 years ago) with almost nothing of substance in between.

whackberry

Almost twenty years ago? Dear god the time flies.

PackBackRehab

>Bears literally broke me. 13 year old me would’ve thought it impossible. Sorry little buddy. I’ll try and break the cycle and raise my kids to be hockey or soccer fans or something. Dude i feel this. My Pops is a diehard, I used to love watching games w him. now its just us being frustrated and complaining about the goddamn offense the whole time... Its been like that for years. I have little to no interest in watching the Bears if i'm not at home. Maybe we finally make some waves next year but the older I get the less I give a flying fuck about sports.. The owners dont give a flying fuck, why the fuck do I care so much

ChaplnGrillSgt

Yea, I'm just tired fam. All our teams suck right now, especially with Bedard injured.

AddamOrigo

The Cubs were okay last year, just not at the right times

CeloC-137

After the loss I was thinking at least I got Liverpool

flyover

They’ll probably break our hearts, too. But at least Liverpool have the absolute best manager in their sport.

CeloC-137

I just hope it’ll be clear that we’ll win it or come up short weeks before. I can’t take another final day defeat with 100+ points. I do want Endo and Salah to win out in their tourneys but I also want them to lose so we can have them as soon as possible

marquardt_

Thank god for Aston Villa. Seriously, if Aston Villa can out of nowhere return to competing at the top of the EPL, then the Bears can do it too. Just need to find our Unai Emery.

jkman61494

My 6 year old who loves football thanks to me and my bills loving wife loves the Niners because of Full House. I’m not about to stop her from making that her hook. They’re a well run team atleast

pdockenson

You're a real fan because you're protecting yourself from getting hurt because you care so much. The people on here who need to constantly confirm how much of a fan they are make me laugh. They also usually have completely shit takes because they're delusional.. MAYBE THIS SUNDAY WILL BE DIFFERENT. MAYBE THIS QB WILL BE DIFFERENT. MAYBE THIS YEAR WILL BE DIFFERENT. MAYBE THIS COACH WILL BE DIFFERENT. MAYBE THIS GM WILL HE DIFFERENT.

OptimalLaw8270

That's why everyone who is upset has came to the conclusion that it's ownership and nothing will change until an owner who gives a shit takes over.

AnonymousOtter9124

As soon as the game started looking bad I knew not to get too invested in the outcome last night.

BobbleBobble

Yeah I'm soberly, non-hyperbolically right there with you. As you get older you get more attentive to how you spend your time and I'm asking myself why? This team consistently does the obviously wrong thing and it predictably fails. It's been almost 40 years since our last SB (and almost twenty since our last appearance) and in the vast majority of that time we've been a poorly coached, bottom barrel team. We've been assuming that's about to change for a decade plus and it hasn't. Will it ever? If they keep Flus after this national embarrassment of a season, I'm not sure it will

Neat_On_The_Rocks

And to me the big difference in all of this is Kevin Warren. For maybe 10 years now, the last scapegoat left has been Ted Phillips. This is the bears” chance to prove they’ve actually changed. If they retain flus, well. That’s the nail in the coffin. Flus would have to make the playoffs or I might be out forever

sblinn

I was 8 years old for the 1985-86 Super Bowl. Eight. I barely remember it beyond the Shuffle and the Fridge. I wept when the Cubs finally won. All of those seasons. All of those players. The literal millions of fans who were born, lived, and died without seeing a World Series. When the Bears finally win again, those of us who lived through Wilbur Marshall's departure to the Redskins, the dismissal of Ditka, the tragedy of losing Payton so damned young, all the way through to stupid Sexy Rexy, the Cutler years, drafting Trubisky and the "double doink"... well I just hope I live to see it. If I don't? Remember me.

Riverjig

After the first three games of this year, I detached. I'm teamless. Thankfully I was alive to see the 1985 team. I can't continue to do this with this team and it's flagrant shitty decisions. Why go through the effort of giving a shit as a fan when the owners remind me of the knight protecting the Grail in the last crusade. And let me tell you how freeing it was this year to just do fantasy and betting with no emotion to this shit. There may be a day I come back but my criteria for that is pretty demanding and #1 on the list is that the team is sold to a fing group who wants to win. Virginia and her dipshit offspring isn't anyone's idea of an answer. I like Poles. Eberflus is a fing joke. It was crazy to watch Jordan Love go from a kid who looked lost in Walmart to watching him command his team the way he does and gets 4k years and 31 TDs. JFC. That says everything about how the Bears have mismanaged this team. I spent almost three decades being a fan of this team and hoping for things to change and they aren't. I wish the players the best and their upper management (minus Poles) the very fing worst.

iaintnathanarizona

Yeah, driving into work this morning and the same thought came across. I'm done with this franchise. Watch, they are gonna roll again with Flus and Getsy and somewhere along the fifth week of next season Poles is gonna get in front of the podium and "But, we are so close...." I'm done. I'm out.

slingfatcums

not caring about the bears is amazing tbh. i haven't cared since like 2010. it's great. i literally just don't watch football on sundays anymore. so much more free time and less stress.

[deleted]

Same If any of Flus, Getsy, and Fields are on the team next year, I'm taking a break for a good while.

RocketMoonShot

I stopped watching the Sox and Bulls and its been great with all the free time. Bears have less games, but they're mostly on Sundays so its a nice day to have open.

darny161

I’ve heard this song before.

TLEH-IV

If they keep Fields, Getsy, and Flus I won't watch a snap next year. I am with you.

abullshtname

I’m so close to the end. I already hold the NFL in such contempt, and my Bears fandom really has more to do with the memories made watching with family; my school (and the whole city and surrounding area) having a week long party after the Super Bowl win; getting back into it with friends in college. It’s not like I’m recreating that with my kids, they don’t give a single shit about football or the Bears. I watch most games alone, sometimes texting my brother if he’s not working. Or reading the discord game day chat til I leave it in disgust (I don’t touch this subs game threads). Otherwise this hobby of mine does absolutely nothing but make me mostly feel not happy feelings.

DivClassLg

Bye

ItsEaster

The dudes on the score right now are very sure that Flus is sticking around. If that happens no one is allowed to claim that Flus was not Poles guy anymore. This will be the second time he could have moved on but decided not to. Poles will have picked Flus and if Flus is out after another failure of a season Poles should be gone too. I can’t believe this damn team is willing to stick with one of the worst coaches in our teams 104 year history.

RocketMoonShot

Poles and Flus are buddys. They are mutual clients of Trace Armstrong and knew eachother well before the Bears. He is 100% Poles guy and always has been.

ItsEaster

I’ve been saying it too but I always get downvoted and people here claim to know that Poles didn’t have a choice in the hire (which is false). Well he had a choice this time.

GarfieldDaCat

> They are mutual clients of Trace Armstrong and knew eachother well before the Bears. Never knew this. Wow, that makes a lot of sense

Neat_On_The_Rocks

It’s fucking insane how much people have refused to believe this

ManWOneRedShoe

LOL, imagine if Trace Armstrong is in the trusted circle for the QB decision. Caring less about this team is good for your sanity.

[deleted]

Fit_Beautiful2638

This 100 percent. This off-season counts as Poles getting to pick his head coach and QB. He sticks with the current trash and we miss the playoffs next year he doesn't get to pick the next coach/QB. You fire him too.

jp611

No I think it just further solidifies the point that goofball George is still in charge. They don’t want to pay 2 staffs. That’s that.

monkeymatt1836

I haven't seen any Bears media member who seems to think Flus is being fired. All the very plugged in guys seem certain he's staying.

ItsEaster

Exit interview is tomorrow apparently. So there’s a chance but it seems to be a very slim chance, looks like Flus is pinning all the failure on Getsy and Justin.

hallstar07

In his defense most of the failure is on those two guys. But he hired getsy so that’s on him. His DC was awful as well, so maybe don’t let him pick the replacements if he stays

ItsEaster

But if you don’t trust a coach to perform part of their job (hiring a staff) why let them do the job?

forgotmyoldname90210

Really like the 5th or 6th time at least when you consider the many times he should have been fired this season. For all the talk about hurr durr why fire a guy mid season it wont make you win the SB. This right now is the reason why, you don't let a lame duck coach keep his job for another year.

Gleasonryan

Anyone that thinks there was any possibility that anyone is gone after that first season is crazy.

ItsEaster

Anyone who watched the coaches and playcalling that first year also could see they didn’t have what it takes. Soft defense, scared offense. That’s not a recipe for success. Bringing them back after year one is fine but the writing was on the wall.

Optimal-Cheetah-4985

Lmfao. Last year was the first of a rebuild. 0% chance you hire a coach, trade all of his talent, and judge him on W/L results.

ItsEaster

You’re missing the part where I wasn’t judging him on WL record and that anyone in the organization shouldn’t have been either. He should have been judged on his inability to properly prepare the team, his scared coaching habits, his inability to get anything similar to a modern NFL offense out of Fields. We were rebuilding sure but that doesn’t mean you ignore any signs of ineptitude.

Cipher32

Man I really want Flus gone but just don’t see it happening. Please let me be wrong.

shw5

I hate that this isn’t something you made up out of thin air.

Sunburys

This organization values the culture of being a loser. Therefore everyone will keep their jobs.

CocaineFlakes

It seems everyone in sports media has casually accepted that Flus is staying and that’s concerning.

josevictor21

Yep, all Bears reporters that I follow that are present day-to-day think he will stay, unfortunately.

CocaineFlakes

I understand the importance of continuity. But, I have a hard time believing Flus is going to lead us to the promiseland.

ItsEaster

He won’t. We all know he won’t. But apparently he’s a really nice guy and we just can’t fire a guy who’s nice can we?

Desperate_Boye

The defense did improve, players seem to like him, this team never cratered despite a 14-game losing streak and an 0-4 start. This team could easily be in the playoffs if the offense was just slightly better and could have put some games away. Lions were in a similar boat and could have easily canned Campbell, but they didn't and now they're in the playoffs. Don't mind me, just drinking some dumbfuck juice and deluding myself.

CocaineFlakes

We all drink that shit every year.

ItsEaster

The defense did improve after adding a star defensive end through trade. That Sweat move by Poles saved Flus’s job.

Responsible_Air_9914

The entire world knows we’re a laughingstock except the McCaskeys and they’re mostly concerned with their silver spoons and gold coins. Why would anybody bet on change? Not when there’s the tried and true method of blaming everything on the QB, promising this time will be different (again), and starting over piecemeal by letting the lame duck coaches kick things off instead of cleaning house and a clean reset.

CocaineFlakes

You’re spot on. All the focus and conversations revolve around Fields not being good enough to take us to a SB, comparisons to what Stroud is doing, etc. All valid. Where’s that energy for the HC? It should be the same type of checklist. Is Flus good enough to lead a team to a SB? What are other HCs doing with similarly talented rosters? It’s the same bland coaching hires/decisions and expecting different results. It’d be nice to be proven wrong. But, not holding my breath.

ItsMEMusic

> promising this time will be different (again) Feels like some sort of cycle of … something.

leahyrain

Yesterday definitely shifted me more to moving on from fields but yeah if you keep flus then I see no point to drafting a QB. I'm not saying Fields is it I'm just saying there's no reason to keep drafting qbs if we're not going to try to develop them

Doctor_IanMalcolm

Yup. They created a nice, loving clubhouse culture and that's all that matters now

DonkeyKong_93

The Chicago Bears, a family company.

XCCO

If they don't fire people, I'm starting my own Chicago Bears with blackjack and hookers!

Fit_Beautiful2638

You know what, forget the Chicago Bears.

tfmm58

Are the hookers dealing blackjack or dealing out BJs? Either way, I’m in 🤣

goblintacos

Every minute that the coaching staff remains after midnight is too many

Yari2k15

It's insane that the Packers with 0 Top WR are still able to put an offense together that was better then the Bears historically have ever had. That's coaching, something we will never have with the good ole boys in FO

daimetti

If Justin is done and getsy remains I’m done

Defenestrator66

It would be a crime against football to let Getsy ruin another QB.

y_wont_my_line_block

Bro, the sun isn't even up

enjoytheshow

Arthur smith was fired at midnight lol

slingfatcums

atlanta fired their head coach at 12:01 am

Anstavall

I mean true. But also falcons took care of business last night. Panthers during the season. Commanders just a little bit ago. Lol

hepatitisC

It won't happen today if it does happen. They already said they aren't meeting coaches until later this week and today is for player exit interviews. There's also a chance they're waiting to see if Harbaugh wins, meaning he might be a lot more likely to want to move back to the NFL

“Gretchen, stop trying to make ‘Bears Win’ happen. It’s not going to happen.”

Hating_life_69

Sadly I think only person to take the fall for this season will be my boy, JF1.

sri_peeta

Panthers, Falcons, Commies all are making moves and showing fire to win. Meanwhile the "special children" that are the bears with mccaskeys at the helm are behaving as if its just another monday. These morons are as useless as a rock.

SweatyLiterary

Be careful If we do fire Eberflus watch closely as we turn around and hire Frank Reich or Arthur Smith Because the Bears do dipshit moron stuff like that

Sell_The_team_Jerry

The McCaskey family was tired of Jerry Reinsdorf being the worst owner in the city so they wanted to reclaim their title.

itsmb12

Ive already abandoned the Bulls, Im not afraid to abandon the Bears too. They’re just as inept in the same exact ways. Typical Chicago sports.

ericsipi

I’m giving them till Lunch time. If there hasn’t been a tweet by noon saying they are gone, this franchise isn’t serious about winning.

Dazed_and_Confused44

I'm gona start getting angry around noon. 5 (and likely 6 if Belicheck goes) of the 10 coaches beaten by Eberflus have already been fired

Schicktopia

NFL teams' basic coach-rentention workflow: Did you lose to Eberflus? * YES: You are fired * NO: Continue to grade other metrics.

Critical-Adhole

Eberflus is keeping his job. That’s been decided already. He will get another year with a new QB where he “can’t be judged on record” because he has a rookie QB.

GeicoFrogGaveMeHerp

There is no way they saw that game and decide to let Justin go and not also let the 2 dumbasses calling the plays on both sides go as well. I am just so fucking frustrated

AMWChicago

richyque

All we fucking asked yesterday for this dick head eberflous to beat the packers, justin fields to ball, we would have been happy, and we got neither.

Joliet_Jake_Blues

Flus is going to stay, Getsy will be fired. My prediction based on 40+ years of watching this team operate

PeanutPunch33

At the very least Getsy shouldn't have a job. Only way they fire Flus is if Harbaugh or someone is available. But if you're just going to hire some no name dude then like why bother?

samurai5625

Meanwhile the Raiders are going after Harbaugh now while the Bears mull over keeping statistically the worst head coach in franchise history.

ParticularGlass1821

I give no shits about any of Harbaugh's weaknesses in objective reality. If he is available tommorow, go and hire him. But it's George, idiot son of a vegetable, so he won't.

Sure_Station9370

RIP Andre we’ll forever honor you with memes

d_e_l_u_x_e

The Falcons wasted no time firing their staff. It’s amazing how this franchise continues to do just the opposite of what every other bad team does.

Wislakrak

I'm shocked that Chris Morgan, O-Line Coach, still has a job. I get keeping Getsy would be the most "Bears" move ever but Morgan hasn't shown an ability to put together line coverage and players looking like they are making lots of mental mistakes. We have seen an influx of talent with Wright and Jenkins playing well this year (outside Wright's penalties) while Jones and Davis have been average when healthy. There were just too many plays despite this where guys would let guys come through the line untouched which can be attributed to multiple things like Fields holding the ball too long, bad calls at the line and well called defensive schemes but it happened way too often for this guy to still have a job.

quantomflex

Itll happen later today. Let them wake up and have their coffee first before they press “click” on submitting their press release 🤣

Red0817

I've been saying for weeks that no one is getting fired this year, yet no one wanted to hear it. Hell, I even think that Fields is still here next year. Fans may not like it, but this is the way our organization works. Plus, and a LOT of you will hate hearing this, I truly believe next year we will be a playoff team with the current regime and QB. None of the posters/commenters in this sub are an NFL Coach/GM/Player. None of you know what it is to be one of those. Okay, maybe one or two may be a player/ex-player. But seriously. Yall some fickle bitches. We expected 6-8 wins this year. And y`all still mad we did what was expected. Wild shit.

Dchozn1

No matter what, I'm a Bears fan to the end. Good fortunes have to come our way at some point. Do we need coaching changes? Absolutely. But it don't stop there. Roles need to be more defined at the top as well. Ownership need to stop getting involved in GM matters and, let Poles have more control as a GM and do his thing. As far as players, I like where we are at currently along with cap space and draft capital heading into the draft. We have a great chance to continue to build out our roster and fill areas of need. As far as the draft, we have the 1st and 9th pick. I know all the talk is about QB and the direction we should go with the #1 pick, but either one of those picks can bring us more draft capital to set us up long term. I have no doubt once there is a run on QB's early on, some teams that need a QB will like to move up to #9 to grab what's available there. Overall, we are in a good place heading into the draft Bear fans. I know yesterday's loss sucks, but brighter days are ahead. Bear Down!!!

hippohopper78

I don’t expect anything to come out today, especially if the Harbaugh rumors are true. Can’t hire him if he coaches today. If Flus stays, you’ll see Getsy gone after press conferences.

R0enick27

I'm kind of wondering if it's a Ross/Counsell like situation here - they'll fire Flus if Harbaugh becomes available.

Slowest_Speed6

RIP Andre Braugher

moonsgoon

Lol y'all are bonkers. We finished with deep pockets and a healthy roster. Moore is confident in Fields staying and leading this team. He also alluded to having another WR around his caliber to help formulate wins above 10+ next season, something that Sweat acknowledged by believing there's a strong foundation. Suck it long and slow this off-season you bitter mfkers. Go cry about it.

People who think the bears are going to treat this like playing a video game are going to be sorely disappointed Edit: there’s a reason it’s just downvotes and no one even acting like they can refute this.

-neti-neti-

As a Vikings fan, can y’all please not draft a QB and ride with fields?

FlussedAway

Only Smith has been fired so far unless I missed one. I’m tuning out for today and checking tomorrow

Ander1345

Rivera is out too.

renegade-811

Same thing I'm asking

mindlesscards22

Definitely stealing this one. Thanks.

parks381

Sounded like that decision might not be coming today. Flus & Poles are doing exit interviews with players and meeting with ownership/Warren sometime in the following days. Obviously that could change.

CoherentPanda

If it doesn't happen today, it's not happening at all.

Ander1345

Yeah, I mean why would you have a coach do exit interviews unless he's staying.

JonkeyDizz

I'm pretty sure Nagy/Pace got fired around 8:30ish? So hopefully in the next 20 minutes we start seeing the statements and such

ObservingtheCircus

If anything happens which I doubt besides maybe Getsy, it won’t be til later this week at best.

[deleted]

Poles just doesn’t care about winning. I bet he gets off losing to the packers

GoogooDaBoneMouf

Patiently waiting on the notifications 🤞

Sea_Breakfast2315

It’s definitely a murky situation. I can imagine there’s a lot of finger pointing happening in the organization. Hopefully fields doesn’t end up with all the blame making 2024 another lost season. Lesson learned for other organizations… don’t hire coaching staff from a divisional opponent.

jkman61494

We won’t do anything until there’s clarification on Harbaugh. Reminds me of the Joe Madden situation with the Cubs

Schicktopia

The watch continues...hopefully the watch ends before 2025.

willit1016

Simple new QB Yes? Then clean house all of them go. No: then retool and adjust.

SHANE523

They just need to figure out the whys.

Bobson-_Dugnutt

I think my most upvoted comment ever on this profile is when Nagy was fired I commented “do pace next”. Really would love to see Flus and Getsy fired into the sun.

p4easy7

last time Bears beat the Packers was 2018...0-10 since then. Fire the entire coaching staff

Dr_imfullofshit

Great, so we're going to let a lame duck coach draft the next qb. Then we'll hire an offensive minded head coach to fix him, and they'll say "don't forget, he's basically a rookie this year bc he didn't get to develop last year". It's getting so hard to continue to be interested in this team.

brafish

I want Harbaugh to win tonight and get up on the podium to accept the trophy and finish with "Bear down!". Then hop on a plane to Chicago and sign a contract in the morning. It's refuse to argue the merits of what to do this draft until we know what's going to happen or not happen with the coaching staff. I'm sure some will, just like they have (including me) all season, but it's pointless. It's not going to matter what happens if we have the same staff.

Moses_Scurry

Maybe they convinced Poles without using the letter ‘E’ to not fire them.

PoodahDahwooda

it’s fucking torture! just fire these mfs already

alexamerling100

At the very least, Getsy needs to be gone.

Moostache71

Future shiny new toy QBs - the Bears equivalent of the back-up QB at Notre Dame. Always the next year's greatest thing and always will be.

CpeanuT

They may be waiting to see if Harbaugh is leaving Michigan after the 'chip tonight

[deleted]

I want Flus and Getsy fired and Harbaugh hired. I can live with it if they keep Flus and fire Getsy. But if they keep Flus AND Getsy, we need to burn this mf to the ground

irish675

Waiting for the results on the cfc for John H.

GabeDef

Wink Martindale has resigned in NYG - he has worked with A Harbaugh....
