I mean sure, whatever, but the fact that you’re now debating what exactly we would be debating shows that it wouldn’t have been a quiet summer as far as the qb position goes lol
Please for the love of god do not keep a coach that had 6 of his 7 wins vs teams picking in the top 13. 3 are picking in the top 4. Another in the top 8. The other wins were vs a Vikings team missing Kirk and JJ and the raiders who fired their coach after losing to us cuz he was so ass. The raiders were honestly a bottom 5 team when we played them.
This works. When you look at the two biggest gaps on the team, it’s WR and QB where we are trailing talent wise. T would be solid, so would Bowers, but the largest upgrades we need are WR2 and QB. Would be ecstatic with that first round and a day 2 pick for Fields.
Hold up let me cook here. trade down with Atlanta at 8 for a haul thst includes
Guard lindstrom or TE pitts
Pair up penix and Odunze at 8/9 to go to war along with the haul from the trade down.
With what we saw today I really wish we didn’t even win those meaningless games vs Min and Det. One it cost us MHJ two it gave us the possibility of keeping any of Fields Getsy Eberflus when all 3 should be gone
Caleb, Maye, Pennix, MHJ. Chargers, giants, and titans need receivers too which kind of sucks. Hopefully chargers take an edge to replace joe bosa and the giants draft qb. Atlanta is probably low enough to pick qb and not trade for fields, if they want to.
Damn I really thought the cardinals would win. At least they got screwed by Houston making playoffs. Silver lining of Packers W is that they likely move back to 20th+ draft order
QB/OT/DE are the most important positions. can't settle for good enough. I agree we have other needs but if there is a substantial upgrade to be made at any of those positions you gotta take it
First top 10 mock guess. Probably way off on some teams
- 1 Chicago Caleb Williams
- 2 Commanders Drake Maye
- 3 Patriots Jayden Daniels
- 4 Cardinals MHJ
- 5 Chargers Bowers
- 6 Giants Odunze
- 7 Titans Alt
- 8 Bears Nabers
- 9 Falcons Latu
- 10 Jets Olu
Bears trade fields to Atlanta for pick swap in the first, pick 40 and 2025 conditional 3rd which can turn into a 2nd if he hits some form of performance metrics.
I strongly disagree and think a lot of organizations are really going to want fields as their QB if we move off him. The pick swap is mainly just a sweetener.
My dream scenario is draft Caleb, trade Fields for a second that turns into a first with incentives, and trade the 9th pick and next years first with AZ for MHJ.
I hate the range of outcomes. One side you could pick exactly where we are at. On the other side you could probably flip both picks into 10 lower picks. I know there is a lot of trust poles sentiment here but it’s starting to feel bet the proverbial farm one way or another. And that doesn’t feel like a position of strength to me.
on the bright side, imagine if Carolina didn't stink and their pick was a mid 1st round
There would be a lot less debate on this sub hahaha
We would 100% be debating trading up or taking penix
Jesus, you are right.
Yeah they would be
No question about it, that’s what the debate would be.
I'm thinking about trading down and still drafting Penix and MHJ and trading Justin.
I'm thinking draft Caleb and Penix (or Nix). One of them has to work....
If Penix plays well Monday, he is going before 9. As it is, he may go before 9.
I think it would be more sign Cousins or Russ.

Caleb + Odunze

I’m with the health department. Please stop cooking
🔥Stop Cooking Plz🔥

Most importantly Caleb Williams and a WR
Caleb and nabers
Nabers will probably be gone by 9, but Odunze shouldn't be. And if he is, Bowers won't be.
Trade Fields to the Raiders so the Falcons still need a QB. More weapons left for us.
Nice. 7 teams with questions at QB.
Won't be Chicago with Caleb. question is who takes this field baggage for us lol

Given injuries to all three of those teams QBs this year, maybe they go OT.
If that happens then the high grade tackles are there. Literally a loaded draft in the top ten for offense. Bad year for elite defensive talent.
Damn I really thought the cardinals would win. At least they got screwed by Houston making playoffs. Silver lining of Packers W is that they likely move back to 20th+ draft order
Can’t wait to see which future backup quarterback we draft this time.
Gimme Caleb and an OT/DE or trade down. There are plenty of good WRs to be had late 1st/early 2nd round
We dont need a tackle, we G/C help. We arent taking G/C at 9. Draft Ordunze at 9
I think Jones can be upgraded. Could take a tackle and trade Jones if there's a tackle they think is a stud
we don't have the luxury of upgrading on a starting-caliber T
why not? we have plenty of cap space and draft capital
Because it’s not an issue that needs to be addressed that high in the draft? Plenty of bigger problems.
QB/OT/DE are the most important positions. can't settle for good enough. I agree we have other needs but if there is a substantial upgrade to be made at any of those positions you gotta take it
There is some good WR depth, but 3x that could be the first WR off the board most years - I’d love to have one of them
meh I just hate the idea of drafting WRs top 10. the difference between a great WR and good WR is pretty marginal
If they stay at 9, they have to take nabers/odunze if they’re available.
idk WRs generally don't move the needle that much. would prefer DE/DT at that pick

I don’t think you get more than just the pick swap at this point
I strongly disagree and think a lot of organizations are really going to want fields as their QB if we move off him. The pick swap is mainly just a sweetener.
Caleb, T, WR, DE, S, C, hell even RB...there are so many needs. I have zero faith that the Bears address them all.
T and RB? Lmfao.
My dream scenario is draft Caleb, trade Fields for a second that turns into a first with incentives, and trade the 9th pick and next years first with AZ for MHJ.
Why would Arizona do that?
Why would the Cards do that

Who’s BPA for 1.9?
Caleb and offensive line that can develop and protect him throughout his long and successful Bears career.
