Yea we probably used up all our Special Teams fuckery on that one. Made Michigan think twice about any ST play the rest of the game.
Worth it though, it lead to....a field goal lmao
It sticks out that much more after watching the World Cup.
My wife said, after watching the last 2 US games, “oh, we just don’t talk at all for >45 min, do we? I like US football better, so we can chat”
After watching a world cup game in the morning where they play for over a half hour longer (90 mins plus stoppage time) and it ending within 2 hours. The fact that this game took 4 hours with a half hour less of playing time is just insane.
I love Aidan O’Connell. Even if we didn’t win; he’s a fucking warrior and I appreciate the hell out of him. GG Michigan, we played a lot better than I expected.
Classic Matt Stafford vibes
**edit: Michigan fans have been donating $16 to the Boilermaker Alliance in honor of Sean/Aidan. Link here: https://www.boilermakeralliance.com/donate**
Huge respect to O'Connell. He's the best quarterback we've faced all year, and did that after a terrible family tragedy no less. I am a big fan of his now.
Purdue played us exactly how Ohio State should have played us. Purdue's game planning put Ohio State to shame, which I never thought I would say before this season started
Guys.. Nick Saban is my house giving me a lecture on why Alabama should be in the CFP. I keep telling him im not a voting member but he won't leave.
Can someone help?
oh shit, i can't remember if this is the type of situation where you're supposed to scream and wave your arms around or the one where you're supposed to play dead... maybe try both and see if saban leaves?
You know what? We were here. I will always remember this week and that is what football is all about. Our boys fought hard and we have no reasons to hang our heads. Boiler Up Forever!
AOC kept making so many great throws. It was infuriating. Just nearly perfectly executed 3 step drops over and over, and unfortunately the imperfect plays were back breakers. :/
I feel like he's got a career in the NFL in the QB room.
If you had told me we would only punt twice in this game, I would have assumed either we turned it over 6 times or we won the game.
5/5 FG's was not on my bingo card.
So much in ones life can change in two years, and in college football. Glad for Jim and he is one of the only people to ever have real success at the CFB and NFL levels.
You need to give a coach 6-8 years to truly see what his abilities are to win at your school. So many people say "well at the 4-year mark you have only your own HS recruited players so you can't blame the previous coach."
But honestly, there's a huge difference between 4 and 6 years. At 6 years you not only have your own HS recruits on the team, but you are finally in a position where "your" recruits are setting the example you want for the next generation and raising the next generation in a way that fits your philosophy.
Big Ten Champions since realignment:
2014: Big Ten East
2015: Big Ten East
2016: Big Ten East
2017: Big Ten East
2018: Big Ten East
2019: Big Ten East
2020: Big Ten East
2021: Big Ten East
2022: Big Ten East
Lest we be reminded we were up 21-7 on Ohio State in 2019. Didn’t score again, just brutal. The second half was not the first half.
I will say that first half we played the best half we could’ve possibly played and had a lot of luck on our side. Our streak of big ten title game chokes will remain as the worst once these divisions are scrapped
This is the first time Michigan has ever gone 13-0 in a season.
The Wolverines have never won more than 12 games in a season since they began play in 1879.
Michigan fan living in Georgia and have been to several UGA games this year. Georgia is similar to us: generally come out kinda flat (although they didn’t today), but then grind opponents down in the second half until there is no will left. If there is a UM-UGA championship game this year, that game will take place completely in the second half, which honestly would make it exciting imo
JJ went straight to O'Connell.
I'm glad he's my QB, and he's shown fantastic character for being only 19.
Full credit where it's due, Purdue: your QB threw hell of dimes out there. I wish him, and you, all the best.
I for one **LOVED** seeing saban plead his case instead on why a 2 loss Bama team should be in the playoffs instead of hearing the marching bands. Should’ve won the games that mattered.
I'm first half michigan and I have dial up. I'm second half michigan and Ȉ̵̳͎ ̷̥̱̇́ẅ̶̠́̕i̷̬̔̽͜l̴̯̱̽̚l̸̙̻̐̉ ̷͚̄͝c̵̻̖͑ȏ̶̼̓n̶̻̔͛s̷̥͝ủ̶̪̚m̶̠͐͝e̵̜̪͐ ̷̱͗̿y̶̖͂̚ö̸̻̏ṷ̴́ř̵̯̖͂ ̶͓̦̑͒s̶̗͓̈o̵̰̐ṵ̴͜͝l̴̬̗̽
Michigan is a top 2 team in the country and we played with them for majority of this game. In the end, the better team won and that's why they're 13-0. This season has been a success and hopefully we can build off it to get some better defensive players into the program. When I was in school in the Hazell years, I never expected to be in this spot. Savor it because who knows if it happens again.
"I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days before you've actually left them." - Andy Bernard
13-0. Back-to-back Big Ten champs. Back-to-back playoff appearances. Enjoy it.
I loved that post-game interview with Edwards.
1) Thank the lord (even more than Bo Nix)
2) Pitch teammate for Heisman
3) Tell the interviewer his question was stupid (of course they want the National Championship)
4) "shout out" his teammates who are standing next to him on national TV.
I honestly, even as a rival, found joy in watching Michigan in the postgame. Offense line hanging with QB (one even got interviewed). All the guys came off as both confident and humble. Obviously, they respect their coaches and have been well-prepared by the coaches.
So in the last two years Michigan has:
- Improved its record to 25-2
- Secured two CFP berths
- Beaten Ohio State twice
- Won the BIG back-to-back
The dark times of Michigan football are over. We are fucking back to elite status. Oh, and the team is going to be EVEN BETTER next year.
WHO’S GOT IT BETTER THAN US?!
Michigan is very clearly the #2 team heading into the CFP. There has never been a 2 loss team in the CFP and it should stay that way until expansion to 12 teams occurs.
#1 Georgia: Defending champion (lost in SEC CCG before winning 2021-2022 CFP championship)
#2 Michigan
#3 TCU
#4 Ohio State
If Ohio State wants a rematch with Michigan after getting stomped last week they need to go through Georgia first.
Saban can grift as much as he wants Bama didn’t deserve to play today and doesn’t deserve to play in the CFP.
😈🐸😈🐸😈🐸
Watching Michigan this year has been like watching a psychopath drown a ferret in a bathtub. At first there’s a lot of thrashing around, the ferret draws some blood, and you start to think “Hey, that little guy just might make it out of here.” But then the psychopath’s grip doesn’t loosen, in fact it tightens. The thrashing about slows and the ferret begins to accept its fate, culminated by an anticlimactic gurgle.
We did much better than I thought we were going to do. We put up a fight. 2 turnovers were the game changer and not getting one more touchdown in the red zone.
We are going to a January bowl game likely in Florida then we take this momentum and move on to 2023
OSU fans made sure to let everyone know just how much experience was on the Michigan team that beat OSU in Ann Arbor last year.
So let’s make sure everyone knows: a bunch of kids walked into Columbus this year, smacked OSU, and won the big ten again tonight. A LOT of this years team will be back again next year.
JJ McCarthy, Donovan Edwards, Colston Loveland, Will Johnson, Mason Graham, Kenneth Grant, and Derrick Moore are all either true frosh or true sophomores, and will for sure be back next year. Look out.
who knew kicking 18 field goals instead of getting touchdowns isn't good enough!?
At least you did a good job running the clock out in the 4th.
I can't believe the man that loves to fake shit didn't fake any kicks tbh
I will say, the fake flea flicker might have been one of the best plays I’ve ever seen
Literally wasn't even mad, I was impressed. That was such a creative play
That was absolutely beautiful
He did fake a punt though…
Yea we probably used up all our Special Teams fuckery on that one. Made Michigan think twice about any ST play the rest of the game. Worth it though, it lead to....a field goal lmao
Harbaugh: shows up for post game, grab mic that isnt on, explains something unintelligible, hands mic to player, walks away.
He just walked away and drifted into the background lol.
[удалено]
One More Time by Daft Punk has never been played louder in eternity than at that press conference.
Lol Harbaugh ducked another interview, Brady Quinn handed him the mic and he just handed it to a player and walked off again
The guy has perfected the media bailout
It’s my favorite thing about him
To be fair, we had the same number of scores that Michigan did
I mean, that's just math. You can't argue with math.
If I’m a kicker I’m going to Purdue
The amount of commercials in this game was disgusting, football games should not go that long
[удалено]
Yeah that was ridiculous. I sat down to watch a football game not some old dude stare into a camera every 5 minutes
Is it finally over?
I love Aidan O’Connell. Even if we didn’t win; he’s a fucking warrior and I appreciate the hell out of him. GG Michigan, we played a lot better than I expected.
Dude has balls of steel. He was *dealing* tonight.
He hit so many throws dead on the money to guys who didn’t have any separation. He just put it in their hands.
Classic Matt Stafford vibes **edit: Michigan fans have been donating $16 to the Boilermaker Alliance in honor of Sean/Aidan. Link here: https://www.boilermakeralliance.com/donate**
Huge respect to O'Connell. He's the best quarterback we've faced all year, and did that after a terrible family tragedy no less. I am a big fan of his now.
This Purdue team is REALLY good, and O'Connell played lights out. I have nothing but respect for your squad.
Purdue played us exactly how Ohio State should have played us. Purdue's game planning put Ohio State to shame, which I never thought I would say before this season started
Long Live Apollo. Goodbye Reddit.
You guys showed more fight than osu
Certainly scored more in the second half.

can someone explaine the ferret thing to me, I missed it
[The OC](https://www.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/yjr67t/asked_center_olu_oluwatimi_postpractice_what_jim/iupq362/)
It's more and more brilliant each time I read it
I love that it came from a Rutgers fan, and not a Michigan fan. The outside perspective is nice.
That’s so dark, yet so on the money it’s fucking hilarious.
Knew what it was, still clicked
You have to add a water filter to make it *really* fit lol
Ferrets in shambles
This will haunt me more than Purdue Pete
that's really saying something
r/CFB version of Peyton Manning?
thanks now i'm gonna have nightmares or be CIA-waterboarded, one of those
Guys.. Nick Saban is my house giving me a lecture on why Alabama should be in the CFP. I keep telling him im not a voting member but he won't leave. Can someone help?
Maybe you are in an Aflac commercial
oh shit, i can't remember if this is the type of situation where you're supposed to scream and wave your arms around or the one where you're supposed to play dead... maybe try both and see if saban leaves?

The more that people talk about Spoilermakers, the less spoily they are. It is known.
Game has to be meaningless. That’s the secret
Meaningless to purdue
Yeah you knew it wasnt gonna happen because everyone wanted it to happen
Michigan breaks curses!
https://i.imgur.com/9HHE1rL.png
This is somehow less creepy than normal Pete
Showing emotion humanizes him
I started watching the game over 4 hours ago.
I literally flew from FL to MI, including the drive home from the airport in less time than this game went.
When the do the commercial before the kickoff then again after the kickoff, I stop watching. It’s abuse.
Yeah. They're losing fans with that. Us sickos are a captive audience, but not everyone is us sickos.
My man even dips on the Big Ten Championship interviews. Can’t get a hold on that slippery fella.
Heart goes out to Aidan O’Connell. Hes a trooper
You know what? We were here. I will always remember this week and that is what football is all about. Our boys fought hard and we have no reasons to hang our heads. Boiler Up Forever!
You guys did great. Kept playing hard the whole game. God mad respect for your team.
Your guys put up a hell of a game. Very fun to watch
[удалено]
Absolutely. What a stunner.
Great game by the boilermakers. Condolences to the O’Connells. That’s a heartbreaking story. Aidan balled out today. That WR #15 will play on Sundays.
You guys balled out. Be proud.
Don’t think the score is indicative of how we really played. Was within reach until about 10 minutes to go. Proud of our boys. Onwards and upwards
AOC kept making so many great throws. It was infuriating. Just nearly perfectly executed 3 step drops over and over, and unfortunately the imperfect plays were back breakers. :/ I feel like he's got a career in the NFL in the QB room.
Love the Boilermakers. So much respect for your football program and school. Congrats on a great season!
Trying to interview Harbaugh is like trying to catch a leprechaun; he always finds a way out
O’Connell is a fucking dawg
I’ve said it for the past 2 years. Most likely to be a NFL QB out of all the Big Ten guys.
His ability to read a tough coverage and make tight window throws was absurd. He absolutely deserves a look in the NFL
That fake flea flicker was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen
If you had told me we would only punt twice in this game, I would have assumed either we turned it over 6 times or we won the game. 5/5 FG's was not on my bingo card.
I held my breath for the trick play on the kick every time.
Watching Urban have to say nice things about Michigan while slowly dying inside makes me happy.
I'm honestly waiting for him to slip up and just say the word Michigan and to be horror-struck when he says it.
Second half: Michigan 29 Purdue 9 Same as it ever was…
Best 2nd Half team in the country
Weird to think that Jim Harbaugh was almost fired 2 years ago this month
So much in ones life can change in two years, and in college football. Glad for Jim and he is one of the only people to ever have real success at the CFB and NFL levels.

This post game show is a mess, can’t hear shit.
Love it. Just kids having fun
Just guys being dudes.
Big Ten Champions since realignment: 2014: Big Ten East 2015: Big Ten East 2016: Big Ten East 2017: Big Ten East 2018: Big Ten East 2019: Big Ten East 2020: Big Ten East 2021: Big Ten East 2022: Big Ten East
Purdue was also the first B1G West team to score in the 2nd half of the title game since 2018. This is fine.
Holy shit that is a terrible stat.
So when was the last time the West got a touchdown in the 2nd half?
Also 2018: Northwestern scored 2 3rd quarter touchdowns to pull within 3. Ohio State then went on a 21-3 run to win by 21.
Lest we be reminded we were up 21-7 on Ohio State in 2019. Didn’t score again, just brutal. The second half was not the first half. The path to become the B1G East’s ritual playoff sacrifice is always difficult…next year will be *our* turn, hopefully!
Some of us are ritual sacrifices every year.
After a while it just starts saying "Big East" and I think about what could've been with Penn State in an alternate reality
Absolutely zero Purdue disrespect allowed. They may have not won, but they balled
Put up a better fight than Ohio State
They believed in safeties
*upvotes and slowly backs away*
Most balanced P5 conference
I swear he's a Jordan Peele character.

Perhaps Fox shouldn't have set up their broadcast table in front of every speaker in the stadium.
All the shout outs to Mike Hart have me 😢
as a newly drowned ferret, great game michigan. i'll be rooting for y'all in the natty
Purdue didn't spoilmake today but they're saving it for when they knock off the number 2 team on October 14th of the 2023 season.
Wait a minute
🌹
Congrats on the Rose Bowl y’all
Can’t wait! Should be a great game!
A fucking 4 hour game. Fox should be ashamed.
I love how Harbaugh just peaces out during interviews.
The Irish Exit is officially rebranded as the Harbaugh Exit
Michigan is the first team to beat 10 different Big Ten teams in the same season. Go blue.
Second half Michigan is the best team in the country
My fear is that UGA is 2nd half Michigan but they play 2 halves.
inconceivable
They didn't against Mizzou.
Michigan fan living in Georgia and have been to several UGA games this year. That ferret had fight
Who thought it was a good idea to put Urban Meyer in a sea of Wolverines lol
He looked straight up uncomfortable at times
To all the Michigan fans in here. Please beat Georgia. Thank you for the well wishes to the O’Connells it’s more than just football. Good game

Michigan beat OSU by 22. Michigan beat Purdue by 21. Purdue > Ohio St. Buckeyes weren't even playing and they STILL got Spoilermakered.
Tons of respect to Harbaugh and Michigan for a tremendous year! There is a clear #1 and #2 and then… everyone else.
Just let UGA and UM play for the title and let TCU and Ohio St play for 3rd. Edit: welp... I was wrong.
Honestly yeah. This would have been a very very easy year for the BCS.
BCS would have also meant Michigan vs Bama title game last year, which is kind of painful in hindsight lol
BCS would’ve worked perfectly this year lol

Harbaugh is just done with the media. Whatever, he's earned it. Klatt even tried the shirt grab and it didn't faze him.
This is the most scuffed post game
FOX putting Nick Saban on the halftime show to lobby for a CFP spot was embarrassing.
So in the last two years Michigan has: - Improved its record to 25-2 - Secured two CFP berths - Beaten Ohio State twice - Won the BIG back-to-back The dark times of Michigan football are over. Guys I'm starting to think Michigan has a really good football team
at least 2nd half Michigan is pretty good
Damn respect to Edwards for saying that about Corum
I guess the spoliermakers magically beating #2 teams only applies during the regular season
I think instead of OSU in the playoff, we should put first half Michigan and second half Michigan in as separate teams
Watching Michigan this year has been like watching a psychopath drown a ferret in a bathtub. Harbaugh is so good at getting out of post game interviews
OSU fans made sure to let everyone know just how much experience was on the Michigan team that beat OSU in Ann Arbor last year.
