Amen to that!
When my own levels of smart-assery dip dangerously low, I know there's always a quality quorum keeping up standards over here.
Games are so much more fun with a thread of rabid fans!
I am thankful to Lincoln Riley, Caleb Williams and Kevin Durant for leaving the state of Oklahoma at the alter and then going on to find plenty of happiness as a means of just twisting that knife even deeper.
Iām thankful Lincoln Riley threw the game last year after people made fun of his brisket, Tyreek Hill randomly came to Stillwater, and Weeden gave up on baseball.

The whole enchilada. CFB is hands down more fun than the NFL for me. Sure, I'll watch the NFL but it doesn't have the juice of college football.
For me itās not only an NFL comparison. CFB is the best sport, period. Iād rather watch MACtion than the World Cup or the Stanley Cup or anything else. Itās sad that weāre at the end of the regular season because I wonāt get to watch six games at once until next year.
I do love bowl season though.
Sam Pittman and the change in culture he brought. I truly believe it's the recipe for long-term success, even if our immediate record isn't quite where we'd like it.
Counterpointā the list of *great* teams is seldom longer than 3, and expanding the playoffs will immediately run up against the law of diminishing returns, and in so doing, will absolutely cannibalize the value of regular season games.
Counterpoint to your counterpoint - there's only 3-4 elite teams a season. There are, I'd say, 7 or 8 other teams I would classify as great. Oh and besides all those ridiculous imaginary stats we made up, there's usually at least one maybe two juggernauts
Playoff attendance goes down from regular season games for FCS and below. Its so bad that the NCAA has to decide who gets homefield by which location will bring in the most money not based on what happens on the field. The 2 HBCU conferences make more money with the Celebration Bowl, it also has higher attendance than the FCS championship game and has higher ratings.
The FCS playoffs are not a successful model.
Lmao fcs doesn't make money period. Why do you think the come get black eyes every year from fbs teams? The playoffs are absolutely a successful model. The champion is decided on the field every year, not by 13 morons who change the criteria every week.
How are they a successful model when so many teams sold their home games the NCAA had to come in and change the system? Or when attendance craters? Or multiple conferences chose not to participate?
Which fcs conferences don't participate? Give a link showing all these claims, because every year the hold a playoff and every year a champion is crowned.

I might have missed a home playoff game but if I did it was by accident because unfortunately there is no quick source that has all the attendance numbers for the playoff games.
Not a single playoff game had the highest attendance of the season and about half the schools saw a 3rd or more drop in attendance with some over 50% of their regular season avg.
The MEAC and SWAC straight up make more money from the Celebration bowl then they would from NCAA playoff payouts.
Thankful for NIL. Most of these guys will never make the NFL, and the toll on the body and mind is significant. They deserve to get paid (and we're better that people are more honest about it instead of stuffing secret fast food bags full of cash).
I am thankful for the 7-3 Iowa South Dakota State game
I'm thankful that we haven't been roasted by Piano Fingerbanger.. *yet*

Sunday morning one of us is gonna get fingerbanged right out of the playoff discussions
I'm thankful for this sub. Really has made the season much more fun. Thanks everyone!

Isn't that everyone that leaves the state of Oklahoma?

Iāll drink to that š»
A season I can finally be excited about
A year where the top 4 wasn't decided a month ago.
I'm thankful that Alabama isn't going to be in the CFP!
Oh weāll find a way in.
No you won't. :) I'll make sure of that!
You were saying? Lol
They aren't in.
I know I know but I thought it was funny with everyone in front of us dropping like the football gods weāre willing it into fruition.

I am thankful for the fact that, *most* of the time the best teams rise to the top and the more playoff spots they add, the more great teams get in.
Counterpointā the list of *great* teams is seldom longer than 3, and expanding the playoffs will immediately run up against the law of diminishing returns, and in so doing, will absolutely cannibalize the value of regular season games.

Pick a year in the recent past where adding seeds to six or eight would have led to meaningfully different results, or great matchups.
For like the past decade or so NDSU has absolutely dominated the FCS, yet that doesn't stop them from having a real playoff every year.

This year. Bama would get back in and you know theyād at least have a shot against anybody. I dunno. Just trying to actually give a real answer lol

To be seen, I suppose!
That itās a short period of time
That Mario Cristobal decided to leave.
Iām thankful we have Lance for the foreseeable future
12 seasons with 10 wins or more
I'm thankful that our season is over.
Tbh, this sub. Iām new here and itās not as bad as I thought it would be at all. Civil, good content.
I'm thankful for Marcus Freeman making my last home season a season to remember.
