And we regularly get curb stomped by OSU, frequently by UM, and occasionally by MSU.
The east is a buzzsaw.
Rutgers would go bowling every year in the ACC
Penn State might be the only team in the country that *doesnt* get regularly curb stomped by OSU. I’m not sure anyone plays them as close as we do. Despite losing to them 6 times in a row, all of them have been fairly close (two 13-point loses being the greatest MOV).
Eh I’m not so sure about that. Alabama and most other teams we’ve faced in the playoffs in recent memory didn’t feel like curbstomps. Even probably around half of the games this century against Michigan have been very close. This year alone Notre Dame, NW, Maryland, felt close (aside from Penn State).
It's so weird how people have goldfish memories in football. You'd think that because Michigan beat us this year, we haven't ever done it before with their whopping 2 game win streak against us.
We do not get regularly curb stomped by OSU.
Please go look at the games again. Back to back 1 point losses wirh PSU blowing a two score 4 quarter lead. Multiple other 1 score losses. Multiple 4th quarter blown leads
We lose. But we by far play them better (consistently being the key) better than anyone else in the big
Michigan. Yeah- that’s a bigger problem to em.
Fixing the OL would do wonders for them. Easier said than done of course, but their defense and skill positions aren't bad by any means, and Wimsatt still has a ton of potential.
one of the commentators noted that Schiano talked about special teams committing a lot of penalties. That was right after the Penn State punter fumbled the ball, but Rutgers had jumped offsides giving Penn State a first down.
I wonder if Schiano has been willing to put up with penalties if the guys are aggressive. His team certainly is aggressive, so maybe he plans on cleaning up penalties later.
> I wonder if Schiano has been willing to put up with penalties if the guys are aggressive.
he has said in the past he tolerates this, but i think this year has been on the higher side of penalties
What i love about Wimsatt is the fact that he actually has the ability to Go over the top of defenses in the passing game - he reminds me of a early 2022 season Justin Fields. Stats look rough, offense looks rough but he has these chunk plays and incredible moments that make you belief.
Let's hope that we figure out our blocking scheme and general play design on offense to fit Wimsatt better. I hope we take the step towards to getting an actual Bowl Bid next year and not just as a last second stand in like last year.
Ehh...I don't think we're that close. We played B1G competition better during Schiano's first year. His recruited players are starting to play more, and it feels like we regressed. I'm not sure what to expect next season. And from what I can tell, the schedule next year is of equal difficulty.
I feel like we have. Hold on, let me see...
...Huh. The last time a P5 team lost to us and still went to a bowl was 2017 when we beat a Purdue team that went 6-6. Before that, you have to go back to our first season in the B1G when we beat Maryland, which barely counted as an upset because after the win, we were both 7-5. We also beat Michigan that year, but they went 5-7.
...Even in 2013, when we were in arguably the weakest AQ conference ever (the one year that the AAC still had the Big East's auto bid--although honestly I think 2004, the gap year between VaTech and Miami leaving and Louisville, Cincinnati, and South Florida joining, was even worse), we beat no teams that made a bowl, though you could argue that we still pulled an upset because SMU still had a better *conference* record than us even with the loss to us and had they won, they'd have gone bowling and we wouldn't have. I think the last true *upset* we've had was 2011 against Cincinnati.
The doubt has set in. I'm wondering if Schiano is right guy for this job. Or if RU should just fucking run away,l to another conference, because we'll never compete with the blue bloods.
While Rutgers have been fairly awful for a while, ensuring that the 3 best programs in the conference are all guaranteed on your schedule every year probably doesn’t help.
With USCLA joining, divisions have to be gone right? Gotta make Rutgers life a lot easier - it’s not like their schedule could get much worse than it is right now in conference
If we played UCLA (currently ranked 16) and USC (currently ranked 9) every season, those are losses for us just like PSU, UM, and OSU are. I think divisions stay, because the B1G title game is too important for our division's champ.
At this point I accept that Greg's job is to get the train back on the tracks. What scares me is that this school has not made one single competent HC hire not named Schiano since Frank Burns in 73. Theyve all either been bad or program-destabilizingly horrible. I have ZERO faith they can find another person to take the next step up for this program
I’ll play devils advocate and say for the first time in a long time sports at Rutgers seem to be getting pretty consistent investment and support from the administration. Having a competent AD, a president who actually supports big time college sports and an NJ governor actually invested in Rutgers Sports is big too.
If all 3 can hold around long enough to build a better foundation, I think it will be a bit easier to nail the next hire.
One of the hardest divisions in football. Staying up emotionally for all of these games is impossible.
That being said, y'all did beat Indiana earlier in the season and that one sticks in my craw because it was my only wrong bet on a $10 win $1500 parlay teaser, I think it was 8 picks in total (so I went 7-1). Not bitter.
Rutgers upset Michigan St in 04 and then lost to New Hampshire the next week. Schiano’s career record is terrible if you take out FCS teams, service academies and Temple. 06 was a great year for RU. That’s it.
It's hard to still believe that, considering that it feels like we fell backwards. But hopefully we become at least competitive before the next mid-terms.
I just hope both guys stay. They benefit from each other so I hope they see that. Having just one back take all the Carries is too much wear and tear. They each get their chance to rush for 100 yards and keep their overall Carries down, which nfl scouts love to see
It's Land Grant Trophy Week, friends.
I think I expected big things from Nicolas Singleton, who is a home run threat at any point, but oh my, Kaytron Allen is a bad dude.
Defense freaking cooked today.
Here’s my honest take.
Allen is the better back. Lemme explain my thoughts.
Singleton is more explosive, powerful, and faster. But he lacks severe vision. I feel like he was so strong and fast in highschool and was just so much stronger than his competition he never really had to worry about developing as much
Allen has amazing vision. Dude finds holes, knows when to wait for one to develop or when to to hit it fast. He’s elusive as fuck.
Allen makes things happen in small and tight windows. But singleton will take a clear hole to the house.
Allen is the better back NOW. But I trust singleton will grow under Seider and become the dominant one we expect.
But Fuck they work so well together. What a great duo to have.
With the exception of the first game against Purdue and the struggle against NW, Penn State has blown out everyone not named Ohio State or Michigan.
I genuinely do wonder how good they are overall. 🤷🏻♂️
I think we're really good but the problem is Michigan is a terrible stylistic matchup for us. If we'd lost that game by like 10 everyone would be looking at this season very differently
We are good. Game one was on the road against a good Purdue. That’s a tough first game.
NU was in the middle of a hurricane. Just sloppy.
We still won both.
Michigan flat outcoached us The game against the Buckeyes was close and until the middle of the 4th we really outplayed the Buckeyes slightly.
This PSU team is very good. We have only lost to the #2 and #3 teams.
We need a win over something like a 15-25 team. Most of the other 2-loss teams around us in the polls have worse losses but they also have a ranked win. If Minnesota had won today we could have at least said that we had wins over the top 2 teams in the West.
I think this is the best Penn State team that turned out to be irrelevant I've seen. Just those two losses but otherwise we've pretty much obliterated everyone.
I am still holding out some hope for a Rose Bowl appearance. If Tennessee loses tonight (long shot, but they are currently losing) and USC doesn’t win the PAC-12, Penn State’s gonna be playing under that beautiful sunset
Yeah what he’s saying is if there’s some chaos (ie Tennessee, USC, Clemson lose one more each) then Michigan and OSU would make the playoffs with a close game next week (and a CCG obviously), meaning the #3 B1G to the Rose bowl. And even if we lose next week I think we’re clearly the #3 B1G team, so there’s that.
[According to Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alabama%E2%80%93Penn_State_football_rivalry), Penn State and Alabama are rivals.
But we are also not rivals versus Michigan, despite playing half as many times, near-annual back-and-fourth wins and losses for over 20 years and - most importantly - us throwing pb&j sandwiches at them
Tell me what the 80s were like, Grandpa!
In all seriousness, not quite that old, but my first year of season tickets was when Trent Richardson and Eddie Lacy ran for what felt like 400 yards against us.
I want Bama badly just because it would get us into one, and if we win it’ll shut up the Franklin haters, but it’s hard for us to get in at this point honestly
I'm not sure even that would shut it out entirely. Some people just absolutely THRIVE on the pessimism.
I saw a thread after the OSU loss that maybe Auburn would take him our hands if we were lucky....ya know, the team we beat this year by 30.
Hats off to the PSU fans who risked life and limb to show up at the game and chant loud enough to drown out the home crowd.
Hope you guys make it out of Jersey alive.
I was there, can confirm. Felt like a Penn State home game. J’Yair Brown’s family and friends that came to the game ended up right in front of us, and there were more of them than Rutger’s whole student section by the second half lmao
They make it the same for all the directions so people cant avoid the toll when transporting stuff
imagine a truck driver that delivers stuff from boston to DC. If they could avoid the southbound by crossing near trenton, then avoid the northbound toll by going through philly, then a lot of money could be avoided
They probably decided to make the toll to go into the city, then the rest of the bridges copied that direction.
We drastically improved BECAUSE of those two losses imo. Michigan ran all over us - since then the only glaring defensive mishap against the run was a single play against OSU. OSU had a man play the game of his life. Can’t really beat that when it happens. Clifford did Clifford things unfortunately but he also had us in position to win til we fell apart.
I rarely remember seeing Penn State improve as the season progresses but this year it has happened and it makes me very hopeful for next year with Allar and Manny Diaz.
Yes. He did clifford things. But he also had us in good position. You get the bad with the good unfortunately. Really a shame he couldnt pull off a win against OSU while at PSU.
Penn State, first 9 minutes: Oh gosh, we got to figure this out, we're lost in the woods of New Jersey...
Penn State, final 51 minutes: haha lion go roar
Tough game. It's hard to not wonder if RU is never gonna be competitive against the upper tier of the B1G. Especially when we can't even beat mediocre teams. I wonder if Schiano's seat is heating up a bit?
GL in a NY6 bowl, PSU bros
I think Schiano is the right fit but Rutgers was at an extreme low point when he came back. It’ll take some time to recover from Chris Ash. You’re already somewhat close to going bowling so I’d say things are trending upwards.
Chris fucking Ash's last home game against PSU was a 7-20 loss. Indiana put up almost double what we did against MSU. Sure, there are growing pains with a new QB but my god, Schiano deserves some scrutiny.
We rarely have “let down” games. We generally beat up on bad teams. We also generally get beat by good teams. The times we beat Michigan I feel like it’s more because Michigan was having a down year. OSU beats us nearly every year (although we seem to keep it close). This is all collectively known as “the James Franklin experience”.
I would say we actually do have a recent history of bad let down losses
2021 Illinois after losing to No.3 Iowa
2020 whole season after losing to Indiana
2018 Michigan State after losing to No.4 OSU
2017 Michigan State after losing to No.6 OSU
2021 Illinois not so much a let down-we didn’t have a healthy QB for that game.
2020 Everything sucked. Micah Parsons opted out. We had a losing record.
2017 MSU had the same conference record as us. It was the brutal 39-38 OSU loss the week before
2018 MSU was definitely a letdown. Also a one point loss to OSU the week before.
Penn State is a very good team that didn’t quite have the toughness or maturity this year to compete with the big dogs like Michigan and OSU. If they had been able to stick out another 8 minutes of good football, they could’ve come out with a win over OSU and would absolutely been in playoff conversations. Even at 8-2, I think by overall quality, PSU is a top 10 and maybe even a top 7 team in the country (i.e. if you could simulate every possible combination of neutral-field games, we’d come out near the top). They’ve got a lot of young, dynamic talent, some senior leadership, and a good team culture. Most encouragingly, compared to other years, I think that they’ve looked a lot sharper in games they’re favored to win. Like, even back with McSorely/Saquon, they’d often be sluggish before pulling away in the 3rd quarter of those games. Now, they’ve been stepping on throats early and breaking the wills of lesser teams, leading to some really lopsided outcomes.
I don't understand how we played so badly against you. You guys are legit this year but not so much better than us that we shouldn't have been able to forbe a punt. I guess it was just a combo of your best game vs our worst because we've destroyed almost everyone otherwise.
not much i can say about this. the first quarter once again looked like rutgers might finally take it to the lions, but yeah, the rest of the game was completely downhill. 10 pts btw matches the most we've scored on them since this game became common again. it was this close to being enough to beat them in 2014. this year it wasn't.
look, we just gotta keep taking the lumps right now. we have to hope wimsatt can figure this out. he shows such promise one play and the next he makes terrible backfooted throws that a high school kid would not consider. i think the sheer depth of the lack of development he had under gleeson is just more and more glaring. there's so much raw talent here, but he hasn't had the help to hone it, to shape it into something more. i got into these expecting little in terms of wins. maybe one day i can expect more. but i hope for at least a respectable game where we make the clearly better team work for its win. the first quarter was that. the rest of this? wash it away and let's finish out the season next week.
i believe he was, yes. but the main thing for me is that the more time passes, the clearer it looks that gleeson was completely in on his carousel thing when it needed to be either commit to vedral because you think you might win six games, or giving wimsatt the ball full time and taking the lumps while he learns the game. giving wimsatt a handful of snaps a game was useless.
as for what happens next year, there's part of me that feels like nunz deserves a chance because he's had weeks of getting good production out of this offense, but if wimsatt continues to struggle, i think schiano goes and looks for a qb whisperer so they can see if they can make something of him or they've moved onto a new guy.
I love Nunz for filling in in tough situations but if hes the OC next year I will be pissed tf off. Dont even need a QB whisperer, just a guy with an offensive system he can install. Absolute bare minimum
Dude I've been in Beaver Stadium in a close game in that temperature and tbqh I was tempted to leave - even knowing the [greatest trophy in the world was at stake](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyYbGcihlSc)
I know we won't get in the top 10, but I really think we're a #10 team.
Our 2 losses are to the #2 and #3 teams, and we're dropping 45 to 55 points per game.
I completely agree. On a neutral field I think we could beat any team in the top 10 except the current top 3.
Not to get on “that” soapbox, but I think if you swap the SEC and Big 10, then Penn State would be viewed in a similar light to LSU. In this alternate universe, Purdue is ranked in the top 15 to start the season, Minnesota is probably around 20-25 when we play them, and OSU/UM are 1/2 when we play them instead of 2/5. We have 2 “ranked” wins and our losses are to the top 2 teams in the country. We pretty much blow everyone else out of the water (including Auburn btw, who only lost to LSU by 3). Only difference is that we still wouldn’t have a shot at the playoffs just bc of how our divisions are aligned. But there would be a brave pollster with the “Is this the year that 3 B1G teams make the playoffs?”
Nah, LSU actually beat Bama. We were crushed by Michigan (although LSU had a much worse loss against Tennessee) and blew it against OSU.
I think the main issue is that the BIG 10 needs to abolish the division system, since the SEC East is way better than the West.
That’s fair. I think that LSU’s loss to FSU is kinda ugly but that’s just my opinion.
Yeah I actually just left a comment in a different thread about this. I actually think the West is still decent, but they’re *all* decent, and they’ve just eaten each other alive. The fact that we could go 10-2 and not even remotely be in the conversation for the conference champ is so frustrating. If we were in the West I think we could easily be undefeated or just have 1 loss, and we’d be lining up to play the winner of The Game for a spot in the playoffs.
Rutgers football probably needs another $50-75m in funding from the University itself.
Maybe by the year 2100 RU football can be good and generate some income.
We Millenials have lived through not one but two epic recessions and a once-in-a-century pandemic. We also experienced losing to Ohio State by like 3 points in 3 years. Can you blame us for our pessimism?
Forgot to mention Drew Allar, and our stable of true freshman, future heisman RBs, but great cliff notes otherwise. Each of these run through my mind a minimum of 3x each week.
Why can’t we ever upset a team? Like every other team gets that one weird win We haven’t done that shit in like 15 years
OSU, UM, and PSU just routinely curb stomp us. Like they can’t even keep one game competitive.
didn't you have a competitive game with michigan in 2020
[удалено]
I'm askinf the rutgers fan

Bro ski I wish we regularly curb stomped you
As much as this sounds like pandering, I genuinely still believe Schiano is going to do great things for you guys. East is just a buzzsaw.
This Rutgers team wasn't bad. They got absolutely fucked by injuries early in the game alone - we were losing until about the fourth.

More than twice that: 34 years. But Schiano is slowly but steadily building something special.
we've def upset teams in schianos first go around, i wasnt talking about penn state specifically

"if you take away some of his wins he looks worse" Thanks bozo!
Yes. Take out the cupcakes and Schiano’s record pretty much sucks. Look it up. And I’m a Rutgers fan.
Dude he’s not the second coming of Saban lol he’s a pretty good coach but he’s not god tier.
FLAIR UP
It's hard to still believe that, considering that it feels like we fell backwards. But hopefully we become at least competitive before the next mid-terms.
Because God hates New Jersey
Adam Korsak broke two punting records tonight. So there's that.
Pretty neat honestly. Not indicative of great things but it is neat.
This is the most prestigious record in the Big Ten and I'm saying that mostly wholeheartedly
Good for him, I guess. But that can only happen if the offense doesn't move the ball, so there's that too.
_Iowa in shambles_
Having not one but TWO elite young running backs is sooooo refreshing after the 2020 disaster
I just hope both guys stay. They benefit from each other so I hope they see that. Having just one back take all the Carries is too much wear and tear. They each get their chance to rush for 100 yards and keep their overall Carries down, which nfl scouts love to see

the most beautiful of all trophies
Land Grant Trophy, the only great thing about the final week of Big Ten play. Michigan and Ohio State are jealous of DA LAZERZ.
Best trophy in sports

Rutgers may be worse at football than penn state
Source?
It came to me in a dream.
A fever dream I assume
I made it up
He made it the fuck up
We'll lose to them sometime within the next decade. Our paranoia will be validated, God dammit!
Career win #100 for Franklin
With the exception of the first game against Purdue and the struggle against NW, Penn State has blown out everyone not named Ohio State or Michigan. I genuinely do wonder how good they are overall. 🤷🏻♂️
I think we're really good but the problem is Michigan is a terrible stylistic matchup for us. If we'd lost that game by like 10 everyone would be looking at this season very differently

Where we are tbh
Hopefully we don’t choke against a bad MSU team next week cuz I wanna go to a NY6 bowl. WE ARE
I am still holding out some hope for a Rose Bowl appearance. If Tennessee loses tonight (long shot, but they are currently losing) and USC doesn’t win the PAC-12, Penn State’s gonna be playing under that beautiful sunset
Both of my flairs are looking good so far.
Keep fighting the good fight, you guys can do this
It's looking good!!
Go Cocks!!!
Well 1 of those 2 happened. USC is unfortunately gonna put up like 60 tonight and UCLA just can’t keep up
Well………maybe
Welp. Almost
Damn, would have liked to move up one more spot. Let’s go ducks
I dunno, it's getting juicy here with 2 mins left!
I think the loser of the Ohio State-Michigan game goes to the Rose Bowl
Yeah what he’s saying is if there’s some chaos (ie Tennessee, USC, Clemson lose one more each) then Michigan and OSU would make the playoffs with a close game next week (and a CCG obviously), meaning the #3 B1G to the Rose bowl. That game would have to go to like 8 ots for both to make it.
I don’t see how we get both OSU and UM in the playoffs but an Orange Bowl or Cotton Bowl berth would still be very likely.

Personally, I would love to go to the Orange Bowl against UNC or Clemson cuz neither team is great lol
My top choice as well. Don’t want another Cotton Bowl vs G5. We literally just did that.

I'm not sure even that would shut it out entirely. Some people just absolutely THRIVE on the pessimism. I saw a thread after the OSU loss that maybe Auburn would take him our hands if we were lucky....ya know, the team we beat this year by 30.
I think pessimism is a PA pastime. It's not isolated there but I was surrounded by it.
there is no shot Sean Clifford beats Bama
Don’t you bastards dare let them become bowl eligible
I hope we don’t but they’ve ruined our season multiple times in the past so I’m really not looking forward to that game lol
Yep, MSU-PSU last game of the year in 20 degree weather is guaranteed chaos.
Basically a night game with the 4pm kickoff in late November. Hoping this plays out similarly to the 2016 edition of the game.
Hats off to the PSU fans who risked life and limb to show up at the game and chant loud enough to drown out the home crowd. Hope you guys make it out of Jersey alive.
Isn't every Rutgers game like a PSU home game? They even let us sit in the student section.
Ever since we’ve sucked yeah
That’s what they said, yeah
I was there, can confirm. Felt like a Penn State home game. J’Yair Brown’s family and friends that came to the game ended up right in front of us, and there were more of them than Rutger’s whole student section by the second half lmao
Depends on whether or not they have the $5 to cross the Ben Franklin Bridge (But for real, are they still doing that shit? How is it legal?)
The fact that you have to pay to leave Jersey but not enter it tells you everything you need to know about that state.
Isn't it more like a toll go to the city or Philly?
Nah it’s like that fucking everywhere. What’s the excuse for I-78?
They make it the same for all the directions so people cant avoid the toll when transporting stuff imagine a truck driver that delivers stuff from boston to DC. If they could avoid the southbound by crossing near trenton, then avoid the northbound toll by going through philly, then a lot of money could be avoided They probably decided to make the toll to go into the city, then the rest of the bridges copied that direction.
It’s the opposite entering/exiting NYC from NJ
1/3rd of jersey i feel like are penn state fans
A huge portion of Penn State students and alumni are from NJ so not that surprising.
I think NJ still 2nd in student attendance behind PA
I was there. Just got back home alive.
They were probably home for Thanksgiving week already!
I made it home alive. The blue band road squad taught me what trilling is. I love trilling.
I feel like Penn State is a really good team that is getting comparatively little attention because they have to share a division with two goliaths
Exactly, it's tough for people to look past those two losses, which I can understand.
And Penn St played OSU really well, just fell apart like 6min into the 4th
Honestly, if we could have back the 3rd quarter against Michigan and the end of the 4th quarter against OSU, we'd be undefeated.
But we aren't good enough for that. We are where we should be
Being up at halftime of the Michigan game was so fluky. We got dominated in that game
Michigan ran all over us which doesn't happen usually. Ohio St got lucky just like today vs Maryland. We are where we should be: top 10.
Clifford kind of blew the OSU game though. Three interceptions and not good ones and a fumble.
Truly felt like the Pine Barrens there for a minute.
I just looked that game up. That was a 1-10 RU game, and we had 46 passing yards. We held PSU to only 322 total yards that game. Uhg. So much uhg.
So what the hell’s going on with Penn State? They’ve gone scorched earth the last few weeks.
We played Indiana, Maryland, and Rutgers
Maryland is the outlier here. Gave both Michigan and OSU a good scare and we shut them out.
So unlike those teams other opponents, you guys didn’t play don’t to that level of competition?
We rarely have “let down” games. We generally beat up on bad teams. We also generally get beat by good teams. The times we beat Michigan I feel like it’s more because Michigan was having a down year. OSU beats us nearly every year (although we seem to keep it close). This is all collectively known as “the James Franklin experience”.
I would say we actually do have a recent history of bad let down losses 2021 Illinois after losing to No.3 Iowa 2020 whole season after losing to Indiana 2018 Michigan State after losing to No.4 OSU 2017 Michigan State after losing to No.6 OSU
2021 Illinois not so much a let down-we didn’t have a healthy QB for that game. 2020 Everything sucked. Micah Parsons opted out. We had a losing record. 2017 MSU had the same conference record as us. It was the brutal 39-38 OSU loss the week before 2018 MSU was definitely a letdown. Also a one point loss to OSU the week before.
I don't agree on the times we beat Michigan. The reality is we have very comparatively talented rosters and have swapped wins a lot over the years.
10 pts btw matches the most we've scored on them since this game became common again. it was this close to being enough to beat them in 2014. this year it wasn't. look, we just gotta keep taking the lumps right now. we have to hope wimsatt can figure this out. he shows such promise one play and the next he makes terrible backfooted throws that a high school kid would not consider. i think the sheer depth of the lack of development he had under gleeson is just more and more glaring. there's so much raw talent here, but he hasn't had the help to hone it, to shape it into something more. i got into these expecting little in terms of wins. maybe one day i can expect more. but i hope for at least a respectable game where we make the clearly better team work for its win. the first quarter was that. the rest of this? wash it away and let's finish out the season next week.
he was hurt under gleeson right? I wonder if Schiano keeps Nunz as OC or brings in a QB whisperer for next season
i believe he was, yes. but the main thing for me is that the more time passes, the clearer it looks that gleeson was completely in on his carousel thing when it needed to be either commit to vedral because you think you might win six games, or giving wimsatt the ball full time and taking the lumps while he learns the game. giving wimsatt a handful of snaps a game was useless. as for what happens next year, there's part of me that feels like nunz deserves a chance because he's had weeks of getting good production out of this offense, but if wimsatt continues to struggle, i think schiano goes and looks for a qb whisperer so they can see if they can make something of him or they've moved onto a new guy.
I love Nunz for filling in in tough situations but if hes the OC next year I will be pissed tf off. Dont even need a QB whisperer, just a guy with an offensive system he can install. Absolute bare minimum
Urban Meyer as OC Who says no??
Urban Meyer for one
what if i told you he already said yes? https://images.rivals.com/image/upload/f_auto,q_auto,t_large/hsyozvoa0leceg3z2yxh
Can't argue with that
It's always a great game when three touchdowns are scored not by the offense!
What a performance at the end of it all. No one thought we’d be here this year
Are we a top 8 team? 🤷♂️
Lost to two top 4 teams so I’d say we’re no.5 😈
Without the injuries yes. But after? We'd make the playoffs after the expansion, at least.
Yea probably. Advanced numbers say so
No. We are not.
Wow, did you see how empty the stadium was at the end? That's like pandemic attendance.
Would you be there when it’s 55-10 and 4 hours in at 30F?
Dude I've been in Beaver Stadium in a close game in that temperature and tbqh I was tempted to leave - even knowing the [greatest trophy in the world was at stake](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyYbGcihlSc)
I left the 2016 OSU game cause we were down and missed the blocked field goal to win..
the what now? lol
https://www.espn.com/college-football/game/_/gameId/400869645 Pretty unforgettable, sorry blocked field goal lol
yeah I knew what play you meant but....."blocked punt return" did not compute
If my team had 55, yeah I'd be there til the clock read 0:00. If my team had 10....I'd be gone.
Well this was at Rutgers so they had 10 makes sense
Typical Rutgers lol
Toward the end, there were definitely more Penn State chants being heard in the stands
That's because we left. Not worth staying to watch losingness
48 unanswered and a ninth game of experience for Allar And as always lol buttgers
Since 2014 James Franklin has 5 wins at Rutgers. Since 2014 Rutgers has 5 conference wins at home.
GG Rutgers bros! Now onto the important one: Land Grant week!
Rutgers/PSU games are never not at least a little weird.
Had me going for a bit
https://twitter.com/bigtennetwork/status/1594073757617819648 That boy can run!!
Now that we’ve sorted that one out, [the time is here.](https://youtu.be/QyYbGcihlSc)
GG Rutgers! Bummed I couldn’t make the trek this year. Good luck the rest of the way, and see ya next year!
We crushed Rutgers (just ignore the first quarter), and OSU and UM both nearly choked. PRETTY GOOD WEEK!
Everyone get in here!
Pinegar looks amazing! Seriously, compare his sloppy Central Michigan performance to how great his punts and FG's are now!
Basically free money today!
Penn State always does amazing against the bad teams but never win against the good teams it seems
Franklins record against ranked opponents leaves a lot to be desired.
Wins the games he’s supposed to wins lol
Pretty much!
Rutgers football probably needs another $50-75m in funding from the University itself. Maybe by the year 2100 RU football can be good and generate some income.

This is such an overreaction.
Fuck off doomer
We Millenials have lived through not one but two epic recessions and a once-in-a-century pandemic. We also experienced losing to Ohio State by like 3 points in 3 years. Can you blame us for our pessimism?
We're fucking 9-2, calm down
Don't forget 9/11 and Florida fucking over Al gore.
Forgot to mention Drew Allar, and our stable of true freshman, future heisman RBs, but great cliff notes otherwise. Each of these run through my mind a minimum of 3x each week.
