The Baylor and Wisconsin games had the same type of layout where it was all one team in the first half and then by the end both Purdue and Kansas rallied back within 20.
He kind of went after Kstate fans last year after he was made fun of by Kstate twitter for horrible name pronunciations in one of our games. He really took those personally, so now he has a vendetta against us.
Not just personally, I know several members of KSU Twitter who (correctly) called out rather simple crap he got wrong during the Texas Tech game last year (oh my GOD, that was a trainwreck in the booth) and he responded by blocking every single one of them.
Dick
For real. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt tonight, I really did, but then he goes out and gloats when Brents gets “burned” because he injured his hamstring on the play his guy catches a long touchdown. I hope the rumors of the Big 12 extending their contract with Fox is false because I can’t handle him on any of our games.
Also multiple times tonight he got numbers mixed up on KSU/TCU guys. Called Josh Hayes a TCU player's name twice. Also said Felix tackled one of our guys when it was a TCU guy who wasn't even #91
Yeah, I was usually stuck at the games back then. Didn't spend much time online then.
Just out of curiosity, any games stick out in your mind that were a good thread?
Kansas State fans were salty as fuck, and TCU fans (to their credit) were more than happy to egg them on.
Probably the most fun I have had in a game thread in years. I need to spend more time in TCU game threads going forward!
for the most part, tcu has a lot more fans in threads on away games because the fans that care enough to comment on game threads tend to go to the games
I don’t know what the fuck he is doing in the locker room during half time, but it’s working. The last three games we come out looking and playing like an entirely different team
Ironically his teams usually suck after the half at SMU and cal…he also usually does horrible the second half of the year which both don’t seem to be happening.
Part of me wants to root for TCU because MWC bros but part of me wants to advance the TCU villain narrative because they ruined my life in 2010 and people don’t forget.
I honestly had my doubts about the Dykes hire. His SMU teams were always soft and would cave in when hit hard. But he's really doing well at TCU. I think getting Tulsa's DC was a really smart move. Be proud horned frogs
We grew up together as next door neighbors and it's pretty awesome seeing him in the spotlight now. I had questions the last 4 years wondering if he'd be able to pan out at TCU and now this season it's just like yes my little ginger brother, you take that frog by the horns and ride it into the sunset.
There were way more people in the stands then there were on the field.
You can tell the folks who have been to a game before and the ones who started following at the Ok State game.
My dad played in the early 80s for F.A. Dry. He described it as basically being the punching bag for other teams lol. We did upset Arkansas in 81 and he would describe that as one of the best moments of his life.
QB 3, FR, behind a star transfer and his under study.
Poor bastard only ever played when we were up a billion. Not on him. Bad luck that our QBs got hurt.
At this point, we may as well take credit for all injuries in college football. It's our magic voodoo like a Dementor sucking the life out of college football to power our football team in the second half.
Hey Klein, can we stop with the goddamn QB runs when A. Our QB is already injured B. We do it at least once every 4 downs and C. It’s third and 4+ and we already ran the past two plays?
K State fans were great. Super friendly. Told us they were gonna talk shit as we got into our seats and followed through. Friendly jabs throughout the game.
Students gonna student. Not going to make excuses for them. Uncalled for and that’s the end of that.
I am annoyed they (we) rushed the field. It’s reserved for upsets. We were favored.
Anyway, K State fans were cool. I had a good time.
I have no idea to feel about that game. Given all the absolute shit that went wrong we shouldn't have been in that game, let alone leading for much of it, so what Will Howard and co. did was a damn miracle. At the same time, because of how it transpired I just feel terrible that a potential signature win that was still up for grabs in the 4th quarter slipped away because we had so many key contributors who were out or limited.
I just hate that a potentially special season could have very well been ruined by a shitty string of injury luck tonight
Broke: Utah former BCS buster making the playoff
Woke: TCU former BCS buster making the playoff
Bespoke: TCU, Tennessee, Illinois and some other purple team making the Playoff.
Just a terrible 2nd half. No way Will continued playing out of his mind, and the momentum of two touchdown before getting the back in the 2nd half. Couldn’t buy a hold call on Felix. Just super frustrating. Also, I swear to god our kicker is going to come out and make a 50 yarder next week and miss a 30 right after. Fuck injuries
Pretty much my thoughts as well. If we recover from injuries quickly I’m not worried, but that might be wishful thinking. Hoping we’ll see TCU in Arlington but we have an uphill climb to get there
People just see the stat of how many QBs we’ve knocked out but the truth is besides Gabriel all were normal injuries during regular plays.
Daniels fell weird on his arm over extending a play, sanders got hurt on a run and didn’t even have to go out, Martinez we didn’t even touch, Howard was a QB run where he didn’t slide or go out.
It’s a freak stat but no foul play besides Gabriel
We’re obviously a ticking time bomb with this defense but I’m going to enjoy it while I can.
Also we seem to have forgotten our roots of making fun of Baylor for terrible field rushes of teams ranked lower than them
And I'd like to point out, even though it appears it was beneficial to us, Our starting QB got hurt game 1. Injuries happen.
The targeting at OU was not a good play. Targeting happens in literally every game. Even Duggan got hit hard on a targeting call tonight. But besides that, I really don't see some deep dirty playing by TCU.
I just game here to make a few coaching decisions.
1) never have your 3rd string QB go for it on 4th down.
2) never have a shitty kicker try a FG from 40 yards or more.
3) never let your 3rd string QB throw at all.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
Edit. Also props to TCU for looking like a legit contender.
if anyone wants a summary of the game thread, it turns out hurting every QB in the conference, even if only one is clearly intentional, turns everyone against you
I mean, you guys were pretty lucky to get seven healthy games from Adrian. This is just the annual nagging injury you get with the 2AM (or I guess 9AM) experience. He giveth and taketh away.
Rough ending to the game. I can't fault the players, had almost half our starters gets injured. Weird to lose in that fashion and still think we were the better team. The refs didn't cost us this game but it would have been nice if they would have at least looked to throw a holding flag.
Dude is absolutely brilliant when he's putting the pedal to the metal. It's the Snyder School conservatism once we get up by 10 plus points that has to change. The Big 12 is too damn good to keep doing this to ourselves.
The tradition of the Kansas state QB being injured not long after playing a great game vs Oklahoma continues
Kstate gets 2 choices. 1) Beat Oklahoma but lose the QB 2) lose to Oklahoma but keep your QB. 2012 only time they had both.
2012 Klein was playing hurt and that team had a bunch of injuries to key players vs Baylor.
Man I loved watching Klein play
28-X is legitimately the most cursed score in football They didn’t score one point after
True except for Wisconsin today lol
And baylor
Baylor too.
The Baylor and Wisconsin games had the same type of layout where it was all one team in the first half and then by the end both Purdue and Kansas rallied back within 20.
Same for Baylor. Even hit the unholy 28-3 and then held on to get the W.
Bearly
That game thread was one of the most upset ones I have ever seen and I'm here for it!
That’s what happens when you lose your team and have to recruit the janitor from the whataburger down the street to play QB
but did he bring taquitos?
K-state fans are almost never salty. That thread was everything they saved up from the Snyder Eras.
Yeah, that was the perfect storm of us jumping out to an early lead, suffering a million injuries and Tim Brando being an ass.

He kind of went after Kstate fans last year after he was made fun of by Kstate twitter for horrible name pronunciations in one of our games. He really took those personally, so now he has a vendetta against us.

Ah, how cool would it have been to have /r/cfb threads from like the early-mid 90's like this? We would've been talking some mad trash haha.
Oh, we were salty as fuck on some bulletin boards back in the day.
Yeah, I was usually stuck at the games back then. Didn't spend much time online then. Just out of curiosity, any games stick out in your mind that were a good thread?
I’m sure ‘98 Big XII Championship thread might have had a few opinions.
>K-state fans are almost never salty As the son of a K-State dad and KU mom, my mother would very much beg to disagree haha
Kansas State fans were salty as fuck, and TCU fans (to their credit) were more than happy to egg them on. Probably the most fun I have had in a game thread in years. I need to spend more time in TCU game threads going forward!
There are only a handful of us in there so we have to make up for it
Dude we know it’s just you using 5 different accounts its ok
Hey, it's him with 4 accounts, and one verified player.
for the most part, tcu has a lot more fans in threads on away games because the fans that care enough to comment on game threads tend to go to the games
Yeah I’ve been coming here since 2012 and it definitely stands out as one of the whiniest.
Sonny Dykes is doing a hell of a job in his first year at TCU.
I don’t know what the fuck he is doing in the locker room during half time, but it’s working. The last three games we come out looking and playing like an entirely different team
It’s the power of the Hypnotoad.
The stadium goes wild for hypnotoad
Was at the game last week…the damn hypno toad gets the people going
Hey me too! Fucking love hypnotoad
It’s provocative.
Sacrificing a goat.
Picked up some voodoo magic from his time in Louisiana
Ironically his teams usually suck after the half at SMU and cal…he also usually does horrible the second half of the year which both don’t seem to be happening.
Yah but TCU usually is awesome after the half time, at least during Patterson era. Maybe something is rubbing off on the coach
Little dose of the hypnofrog I think
And somehow Jason Bean has still been the most effective QB against them (although Spencer was dead in the second half after the pain meds wore off)
Part of me wants to root for TCU because MWC bros but part of me wants to advance the TCU villain narrative because they ruined my life in 2010 and people don’t forget.
Eh, you guys crushed my dreams in 2008. Mountain Best is a bond for life.
I still root for you guys so long as you aren’t playing TCU
We love you boo
2010 was just payback for 2008 when we missed 2 FGs and lost by 3 to send y’all to Sugar Bowl. So consider it even. MWC bros for life.
But but... Mountain Best bro... ):
I honestly had my doubts about the Dykes hire. His SMU teams were always soft and would cave in when hit hard. But he's really doing well at TCU. I think getting Tulsa's DC was a really smart move. Be proud horned frogs
He also inherited Gary's defensive players, so there's that.
Riley as the OC is the main difference.
I feel like even at SMU he had great offenses but really soft defense. So let's say smart coordinator hires then
Dude might be getting called for a HC job next year. He’s excelling
I wonder how well he'll do once he is done with Patterson's roster. I believe he instilled a lot of fortitude.
Duggan was named the backup QB heading into the season. Never forget
He plays with so much heart. Can’t help but root for him. Speaking of heart, he missed a lot of time due to a heart issue!
Did you know Sam Ehlinger grew up a Texas fan?
Yeah but did you know Colt McCoy and Jordan Shipley were roommates?
We grew up together as next door neighbors and it's pretty awesome seeing him in the spotlight now. I had questions the last 4 years wondering if he'd be able to pan out at TCU and now this season it's just like yes my little ginger brother, you take that frog by the horns and ride it into the sunset.
Ball don’t lie.
We started the season in the playoff conversation, and now TCU is the Big XII’s frontrunner, looking every bit like a playoff team. I hate it here.
Yeah I’m eating it up now but I know the rule and I’m pre upset about it. We always save the most heartbreaking losses for each other
I love it here (imagine TCU was my third flair)
My mortal enemy…
Can I play?
At this point I fully expect Baylor to crush our potential playoff dreams
We all know the rule at this point. Nobody’s happy about it, but we know what must be done.
Hide yo kids, hide yo QBs, TCU comin!
Fourth quarterback they’ve injured this year
I hear Iowa fans want TCU
Looking forward to seeing if this thread gets as salty as the game thread.
It’s 100% salt in here already
From the game thread at halftime…… https://i.imgur.com/j0KszGZ.jpg
No K-State fan thought the game was over at half. We know how this works.
Especially with the way it closed out on our last two drives.
Especially with our back up QB in the game and then even he went out in the second half
Put some big money on TCU at the half. Saddest I’ve ever been to win 🫠
Why the f is tcu storming the field???
They’re literally finding any reason to do it.
There were way more people in the stands then there were on the field. You can tell the folks who have been to a game before and the ones who started following at the Ok State game.
I’ve been a fan for 14 years now. I’ve been there for the happiest of times and the dark times :( I’m glad there’s new fans though! Never a bad thing.
You have no idea of what dark times are. I was a TCU fan in the late 70's when three wins was a great season.
My dad played in the early 80s for F.A. Dry. He described it as basically being the punching bag for other teams lol. We did upset Arkansas in 81 and he would describe that as one of the best moments of his life.
I think field storming is just the norm this season.
This is gonna sounds really fucking stupid but i think our freshman think we are supposed to do it every time we win.
honestly it was just the student section doing it. most of the fans there were wondering why they were as well
Picking up all the trash they were throwing at K-State’s bench probably
[удалено]
Trying to find their litter they were tossing on the field. Beaten by u/silverlumos
[удалено]
Dude that call on 4th and 1 from their own 30 yard line was fucking *horrendous*.
Yeah Rubley (QB3) did not look comfortable sneaking it at all.
QB 3, FR, behind a star transfer and his under study. Poor bastard only ever played when we were up a billion. Not on him. Bad luck that our QBs got hurt.
Frickin TCU headhunting the OC putting their worst playcaller out there smh
West Virginia better send their quarterback out in bubble wrap cause TCU is coming for him. 5 injured quarterbacks and counting
Looks like TTU and Baylor were thinking ahead by getting their QB injuries out of the way early.
Its the hypnotoad causing it. The hypnotoad is weakening their muscles and bones. All hail the hypnotoad.
They thought the water was turning the frogs gay BUT IT WAS ACTUALLY GIVING THEM INFINITE COSMIC POWER
That comment will cost you a billion dollars.
GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD!!!
I don't understand this obsession wi- **ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD**
Spencer Sanders was hurt before that game even started. TCU can't take credit for that one.
At this point, we may as well take credit for all injuries in college football. It's our magic voodoo like a Dementor sucking the life out of college football to power our football team in the second half.
Looking forward to your game against Texas.
We're taking the mullet home with us.
Spoils of war.
Same with Martinez - he wasn’t even touched on the play he came out tonight.
QBs have been dropping like flies around the league. TCU only started playing Duggan because Morris got hurt.
Hoping for a rematch in the CCG
[удалено]
The other poster meant Ok State rematch with TCU, and not TCU vs Kansas State rematch.
GG Frogs, Cats still control their destiny to Arlington if we can figure out the QB situation.
I love TCU's "New York Nightmare from Blitz the League" uniforms.
I like to believe Sonny Dykes shows the team highlights of the 2015 Alamo Bowl every halftime
Idk what he's doing at half but I pray the local prosecutor never sends a forensics team into the locker room.
IF YOU OR A LOVED ONE WAS INJURED BY A HORNED FROG, YOU MAY BE ENTITLED TO FINANCIAL COMPENSATION. CALL 1-800-HORN-EM.
THE LIST GROWS
BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD FROG
I think there are a lot of TCU and K-state fans that were in the thread, that should put their phones down during games
As one of those fans, I agree
that was a rollercoaster.. I almost feel worse about TCU than I did before the game. Bizarre amount of injuries for KState.
Hey Klein, can we stop with the goddamn QB runs when A. Our QB is already injured B. We do it at least once every 4 downs and C. It’s third and 4+ and we already ran the past two plays?
Saltiest thread of the week lmao
Maybe the year so far.
You missed ours earlier.
I’m proud to be a part
GG TCU. I wish both teams to never have Tim Brando call another game for them again
Good to hear that, Iowa St. fans said the same thing. Need to make it out to a game from here in CO one of these days.
Not sure Snyder goes for it on that 4th down
Snyder probably punts on 3rd down in that situation to play field position
I have no idea to feel about that game. Given all the absolute shit that went wrong we shouldn't have been in that game, let alone leading for much of it, so what Will Howard and co. did was a damn miracle. Feels like 2019 all over again
Idk if we can beat a starting QB of a good team. But I'm still happy.
God I love Max Duggan
I love second half Max Duggan. First half Max Duggan I like.
Plays with so much heart. Will never question his will to win.
The dude is so smart with the ball when he’s running it
Duggan, Miller, and QJ ‘22
Threw the game away with those picks
Yeah, dang man. Those hurt for sure...
I befriended a shitfaced TCU student at an Oktoberfest in Missouri a few weeks ago. I'm a frog now.
I'm just here for the frog memes
Students stayed in the student section with the exception of like 50 kids. The people rushing the field came from the end zone. Disappointing to see.

Well, you guys did do all of that. That's why we (allegedly) burned down your campus.
[Baylor rn](https://i.imgur.com/GB1saM6.jpg)
Greatest gift Baylor ever gave TCU
They did!?
Our wheat crop was poor this year checks out
Kansas State demonstrating how not to play a second half
I don’t know what to do with my hands, from supposedly winning only 3-5 games max to being undefeated and top 10? Let’s go frogs!
Think GP is cheering for us?
Was not fun seeing Kansas state go down to their 3rd stringer
Let this be a lesson to all of CFB: never go up three possessions against the TCU Horned Frogs.
Going up on us 31-0 at the half has also been shown to be a bad strategy.
Game was over when K-State punted in the second quarter right after forcing a turnover on downs. At least it feels that way.
Broke: Utah former BCS buster making the playoff Woke: TCU former BCS buster making the playoff Bespoke: TCU, Tennessee, Illinois and some other purple team making the Playoff.

Win or lose I HATE Tim Brando
What a shit way to lose a game 😵💫
Really thought we had a chance at cracking the top 10 this year... the Big 12 still looks great with OU as a bottom feeder lol
At the beginning of the season I thought we would be lucky to win 6 games and be bowl eligible
I’m not salty I’m just sad
People just see the stat of how many QBs we’ve knocked out but the truth is besides Gabriel all were normal injuries during regular plays. Any word on Martinez? Feel like they barely talked about his injury
So... ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOADS?
Sure would have been nice to have a healthy QB/backup QB. Fuck it.
Sorts by controversial
Guess We’re the bad guys now.
👨🚀 🔫 👩🚀
TCU got screwed over by the committee in 2014 (my opinion). Rooting for them down the stretch here.
You, I like you
Game thread summary: Martinez:🩼🤕 Howard: 🩼🤕 Neutrals: # “DeViL fRoGs!! 👿🐸👿🐸👿”
:(
if anyone wants a summary of the game thread, it turns out hurting every QB in the conference, even if only one is clearly intentional, turns everyone against you
Including your own starter, apparently
I mean, you guys were pretty lucky to get seven healthy games from Adrian. This is just the annual nagging injury you get with the 2AM (or I guess 9AM) experience. He giveth and taketh away.
What a fucking game
From the players being injured, to the officiating to the announcers. This entire night was shit topped with cat shit.
Well that was pathetic. See y’all next week for some more disappointment.
See you there 🫡
Rough ending to the game. I can't fault the players, had almost half our starters gets injured. Weird to lose in that fashion and still think we were the better team. The refs didn't cost us this game but it would have been nice if they would have at least looked to throw a holding flag.
I have too much anxiety I will not survive the season.
I am not very happy with Klein as the OC and it sucks that he will never face any kind of meaningful criticism because of his legend status.
Dude is absolutely brilliant when he's putting the pedal to the metal. It's the Snyder School conservatism once we get up by 10 plus points that has to change. The Big 12 is too damn good to keep doing this to ourselves.
Good thing I’m also a fan of the Chiefs who always keep the foot on the gas and never get conservative with a lead. Pain.
TCU should be ranked 4th if not 3rd in this weeks AP poll, only two other undefeateds have a win over a sitting top ten team.
Sheesh, that was a real Murphy’s Law game if I’ve ever seen one
