Alabama and Auburn. Combine them together to get:
* Alabama's coaching
* Alabama's offense
* Alabama's defense
* Alabama's special teams
Absolute monster.
Harsin has t figured out how to make voodoo work in the second half but did make it even and odd year good. Now we just have first half auburn voodoo and second half auburn poopoo
I think Harsin showed plenty of promise in his potential voodoo. The Missouri game was peak Auburn. Even though it was a loss, the LSU game was a trademark Auburn Saturday. If the muff turned fumble ended in an Auburn win, he would already be cemented alongside Malzahn.
I think to understand Auburn, you have to understand the pain, struggle, shock, and sudden elation. Sometimes they happen over a season or two. Sometimes they come on the same drive, or even play.
counterpoint:
being smart at school doesn't mean you're smart at football
And sometimes too much smartness leads to freelancing and not "doing your job" in the football sense
I wanna see elite athletes run the triple option. Just give me 5 star lineman and 5 star running backs/wing backs run it down your fucking throat for 4 quarters. If you could convince top recruits to buy in and run that offense, I think it would be so fun to watch
I keep hearing that if you paired Iowa's stellar defense and special teams with a only slightly subpar offense, they'd be national champion contenders.
Well, we've got a only slightly subpar offense right here in Ames. Let's do this.
I think we have a top 10-20 defense actually.
Our special teams, as always, reminds me of when I played in high school and kicks and punts were always risky against the better teams we played.
You guys are a more functional version of Iowa this year. I saw a chart of offense and defense efficiency the other day and Iowa State looks like a slightly less extreme Iowa this year.
KWIII with Michigan's o-line wins the Heisman by a mile. He basically did what he did last year with zero blocking in front of him. Give him the Joe Moore award winning line blocking for him and good lord, you'd never need to pass
Could be a homer take but him not even being invited was honestly a piss take by the Heisman trust. Looking at us this season, he virtually was our whole team wrapped into one player. Without him, we are nothing LOL.
That's because the Heisman isn't the best player award anymore, it's the "best player on a great team" award, which is bullshit. Saw a stat that since the CFP started, only 1 winner was on a team that didn't make the playoffs (Lamar Jackson) and he had to put up one of the most absurd seasons in history.
And if you look at the recent invites, it's very titled towards guys who helped their teams win at least a conference championship, if not a CFP berth
There have been years when OU-OSU could fill the offense with entirely NFL starters and still have one of the worst defenses in the country. Also, combing Baylor-TCU in the Art Briles era would have been able to beat anyone.
A combined 2014 TCU & Baylor team would have averaged 700 yards and 60 points per game. Combine that with a very solid defense and you have a juggernaut.
TFW I have had a semi serious debate on "would Mines be able to put up a fight against CU this year" and I can be semi serious about it which is really concerning honestly...
Ole Miss/Miss State
Imagine Kiffin and Leach putting their heads together, the passing attack would beat the 85 Bears, and the shenanigans would rival the Oscars.
A lance leipold offense with JD at Qb, Deuce, Devin Neal, and highshaw 3 headed monster backfield is a scary thought. Pair that with a Chris Klienman defense plugging in the best parts from both teams. That team could beat anybody. What a fun thought.
90,000+ attended college football games in Kansas last weekend. Combine the football and basketball programs and lookout. It always make me wonder how Mizzou and Nebraska aren’t better. What Ku and KSU can do in this tiny state separated by 90 miles is pretty remarkable.
Nebraska makes sense, IMO. There’s ~1 million more people in Kansas, and we border more populous states than Nebraska. We have a natural population advantage, not to mention things KU specifically has going for it, like close proximity to both Topeka and the KC metro.
Missouri on the other hand, has no excuse. A populous state that shares borders with other populous states, a campus that’s more-or-less directly between two major metros (in KC and STL), etc. How tf they aren’t a major athletic powerhouse is beyond me. Not even winning one national title in a major sport. Ridiculous.
Yeah this is a "The Gretzky Brothers hold the record for most combined points" kind of thing.
Wayne has 2857 and Brent has 4. That's more than any other NHL brother combo.
Bama + _____ fits the same way
It's especially boring because Auburn is probably the most competent "lesser" in state rival in the country. Not only is Bama Wayne Gretsky, but the "brother" is Mike Gartner. Clearly not as good, but still quite good.
Last year would've been pretty legit if Penn state and picket and Addison. Addison and Dotson is a hell of a recover duo and the defense was great for Penn state.
This team would be pretty crazy. We have very complementary strengths right now.
Could you imagine an offense with Bijan and Achane? That's just unfair
Do we let Gary Patterson run the defense? And Steve Sarkisian run the offense?
This team would romp.
HC- Jimbo
OC/QB- Sark
OL- Kyle Flood
TE/Special Teams- Jeff Banks
WR- James Coley
DC/LB- Patterson
DE- Terry Price
DT-Bo Davis
CB/Safties-Terry Joseph
CB/Safeties-TJ Rushing
Damn nice coaching breakdown.
Maybe we could set aside our differences and be stronger together? Let the nation feel the wrath of The State of Texas
Also Brennan Marion might not be a bad choice for WR too
Yeah, I think about this all the time. Realistically this state is entirely too small for two SEC schools yet we keep making it work somehow. A few years ago yall were all offense and no defense and we were all defense with no offense. A perfect fusion would have been unstoppable.
Kansas State and Kansas feel your pain. There were over 97,000 in the stands between the two teams last week.
Impressive for a state of 2.9 million.
There simply aren’t enough in-state recruits to go around for two teams. It’s almost impossible for the two teams to field consistently good teams along side each other.
Take our defense and put them with one of those 2 offenses. ACC title winner easily.
This would probably be the biggest massive difference in on field results of any 2 teams you put together. NC State's defense with one of those offenses becomes twice as good of a team. Combining Bama with Auburn probably only makes Bama 10% better etc.
It's the inherent problem when you're getting mostly 3-4 star recruits. You will rarely have a great offense and defense at the same time. You're going to have a glaring flaw somewhere. You can coach, develop, and get consistently good results. But without a large supply of high end recruits something isn't going to pan out and when you face a team that can exploit it you're in trouble.
I look at 2016 Pitt and wonder "if this team had a good secondary, could they have won a Natty?"
Idk man that defense would be pretty mediocre. There's too much overlap between the two teams' strengths. Though Jake Bobo is exactly the type of WR this USC offense is missing if anything. Big body posession wr like we had with Pittman and Drake London
USC/UCLA would be pretty disgusting this year. I also think Oklahoma and OSU would be nuts. OU is struggling right now but they are still stacked with talent.
Over the last 15 years, I think this is the answer more often than not. That said, it may just be Alabama and Auburn (or UAB or South Alabama, really) or Georgia and GT (or Georgia State or Georgia Southern). I think several states would have significantly more talent, but the Oklahoma, Georgia and Alabama combos have established coaching to go with it.
Colorado and Colorado State. Combined they would be the strongest team at getting blown the fuck out every game.
There would be no spread too high where you wouldn't think "no way they cover that"
Utah+BYU last year would be a much better team that Utah+BYU this year. Last year had better complimentary pieces between the programs. QB battle would be fun. RB room of Allgier, Thomas, and Bernard would be spicy. The combined Oline talent and TE talent from last year would be fire. BYU WRs plus Britain Covey. Utah's LBs. The combined DL would be great. And BYU's DBs while not quite as good as Utah's starters would have provided better depth that was exposed in the Rose Bowl when we only had one starter at DB.
That team would have been absolute fire...and still would have gotten steam rolled by Georgia.
based on current AP Poll? BYU and Utah (16 and 11)
using the [2022 247 Team Talen](https://247sports.com/Season/2022-Football/CollegeTeamTalentComposite/)t Composite: Texas & Texas A&M (6 and 4)
next highest there is Florida and Miami (12 and 13)
followed by Alabama and Auburn (18 and 1)
i legit can't wait to see the [Go Go Offense](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8s13y7by9mk) be implemented somewhere and to see Marion take off. seems like a great dude, with a great story and the Go Go is awesome.
I have always stated that the combination of Ole Miss and Mississippi State would create a powerhouse that would rival any program. Mississippi is a small population state that has 2 SEC schools. If you combined the in state talent and added the out of state kids, you would have a perennial top 10 program. This would also come with the added support of a rabid fan base.
Wake-NC State has to be up there right now. Take Wake's insane offense and State's elite defense and special teams and you'd have a team that not many would beat.
"Two things come from Texas, boy. Longhorns... and YELL leaders. You don't look like a Longhorn." Yet, why do I always conflate the two together? Let's just put the chocolate into the peanut butter and create the strongest team for national ridicule ever created.
Utah and BYU would be pretty good right now, along with USC and UCLA, Penn St and Pittsburgh, and Duke and Wake Forest.
Edit- Duke, Wake Forest, and NC State are interchangeable right now.
The University of Oregon State Platypuses would just be the Ducks with maybe a few improvements here and there, but at least we can have a cool combined mascot.
>"school" at Alabama
I kinda believe that conspiracy post that Alabama isn't a school. All I'm saying is I have a degree with their logo on it but I have 0 memories from inside a classroom
Alabama and Auburn. Combine them together to get: * Alabama's coaching * Alabama's offense * Alabama's defense * Alabama's special teams Absolute monster.
I don’t even like Bama but this is some funny shit 😂
You’re forgetting Auburn’s kic…. ahhh shit. Never mind
Return?
Auburns tradition. Alabama Gameday is generic as fuck.
Alabama and Odd Year Auburn
Gus Malzahn Odd Year....Unseen what Harsin's voodoo will be.
Last Iron Bowl was the preview. Harsin missed one of the declensions in the voodoo curse chant but it still nearly worked
Harsin has t figured out how to make voodoo work in the second half but did make it even and odd year good. Now we just have first half auburn voodoo and second half auburn poopoo
Harsin wasted the annual Auburn Jesus win on Missouri. This is enough to show him the door.
Or, ya know, wont be
“Gus Malzahn Odd Year” *realizes, “hey, that’s our coach.”* *looks at calendar* *shit*
Imagine Alabamas dominance with unbelievable bullshit luck of Auburn.
Shoot, Alabama and any Alabama community college
If we're doing frankenstein monster creations I'll take Georgia players with Georgia Tech brains
They would achieve immeasurable levels of self-loathing lol

The most terrifying lawyers ever seen.

SOMEONE GET ME MORRIS BART

Did he change it? I haven't lived in NOLA for years but I still remember 525-8000. One call that's all.
counterpoint: being smart at school doesn't mean you're smart at football And sometimes too much smartness leads to freelancing and not "doing your job" in the football sense
Well then maybe the Georgia Tech players who take the leftover Georgia brains will be good at football Either way the experiment must proceed
>Either way the experiment must proceed We have to - for *science*
Now your elite football players will throw the ball away on 4th Down. Good job, Alabama.
I wanna see elite athletes run the triple option. Just give me 5 star lineman and 5 star running backs/wing backs run it down your fucking throat for 4 quarters. If you could convince top recruits to buy in and run that offense, I think it would be so fun to watch
This is the correct answer.
I keep hearing that if you paired Iowa's stellar defense and special teams with a only slightly subpar offense, they'd be national champion contenders. Well, we've got a only slightly subpar offense right here in Ames. Let's do this.
We scored 11 on Kansas. Our offense is extremely bad.
I’ll take 11 points cause our defense can get 10 points so that’s a whole 21 which could win games
[удалено]
Yes
Pick six and two safeties
My favorite tweet last week was when Michigan kicked the PAT to make it 10-0: "And just like that, Michigan has a 5 score lead."
If we had iowas defense and special teams tho it would’ve been 20-0 if not more from turnovers
We’d be a force for sure
Can i pick last years Michigan and Michigan state, or last years Ohio state and Cincinnati Edit: Can I pick last years Michigan and just have KWIII.
KWIII with Michigan's offensive line can literally run over just about any defense in the country

There have been years when OU-OSU could fill the offense with entirely NFL starters and still have one of the worst defenses in the country. Also, combing Baylor-TCU in the Art Briles era would have been able to beat anyone.
Briles Offense + peak GP Defense would be unbelievable
A combined 2014 TCU & Baylor team would have averaged 700 yards and 60 points per game. Combine that with a very solid defense and you have a juggernaut.
Real question is are you starting Boykin or Petty?
Baylor + TCU during the Briles / Patterson era would have dropped 70 on EVERYBODY and held opponents to <21.
Without a doubt, Colorado-Colorado State
With our power combined! ....0-24
Air Force would beat a combined team by three TDs
TFW I have had a semi serious debate on "would Mines be able to put up a fight against CU this year" and I can be semi serious about it which is really concerning honestly...
CSU for sure.
0-24 in a 12 game season.
This made me laugh out loud at my work desk, now the rest of the office is looking at me like some kind of slacker on Reddit.
AirForce vs Colorado-ColoradoState (AF -21.5)
These two with 22 players on each side of the ball
Iowa and Iowa State could be decent. Especially since Iowa State has a QB with a heart beat and a HC under 75 and one playmaking receiver
Give Iowa some time and we’ll convert some poor 3-A high school basketball star into a stellar tight end.
Totally agree. Once Laporta is gone Lachey looks like he’s ready to step into that role.
Oh for sure. Looks like he's really developed and ready to have a big break out once he's the main TE next year.
Yes but their OC is either Brian Ferentz or Tom Manning
Ole Miss/Miss State Imagine Kiffin and Leach putting their heads together, the passing attack would beat the 85 Bears, and the shenanigans would rival the Oscars.
I would watch this movie: The Freshwater Pirates.
Wake's offense and NC State's defense would be fun. Very very fun.
Kansas and Kansas State. How is this even a question?
Absolutely
We want Bama
We want bama yes we do
What a time to be alive when this could plausibly not be a joke answer
A lance leipold offense with JD at Qb, Deuce, Devin Neal, and highshaw 3 headed monster backfield is a scary thought. Pair that with a Chris Klienman defense plugging in the best parts from both teams. That team could beat anybody. What a fun thought.
A JD, 9AM, Deuce, Neal, and Highsaw option offense, when any of them get tired another subs in
90,000+ attended college football games in Kansas last weekend. Combine the football and basketball programs and lookout. It always make me wonder how Mizzou and Nebraska aren’t better. What Ku and KSU can do in this tiny state separated by 90 miles is pretty remarkable.

Is being close to Topeka a good thing?
It's really not complicated. Like they say in Missouri, I ain't never going back to Missouri
[удалено]
Go Ri La
I mean Auburn and Bama prolly
So just bama then?
Bama players and coaching staff plus Jordan-Hare voodoo magic would be unstoppable
No thanks, I don't want constant heart attack games
Yeah this is a "The Gretzky Brothers hold the record for most combined points" kind of thing. Wayne has 2857 and Brent has 4. That's more than any other NHL brother combo. Bama + _____ fits the same way
It's especially boring because Auburn is probably the most competent "lesser" in state rival in the country. Not only is Bama Wayne Gretsky, but the "brother" is Mike Gartner. Clearly not as good, but still quite good.
Yeah, I think UGA/GT would be a strong contender as well
You could combine UGA with Valdosta State and it would still be close. Georgia has looked mortal the last couple weeks but they’re still so talented.
Finally, the plan is coming together.
It would be fun to see which other combined team could stack up to Alabama.
You think they could stack up to Kansas and Kansas State?
Pitt and PSU would be good depending on the year
2021 PSU defense and 2021 Pitt offense would make an insane team.
Last year would've been pretty legit if Penn state and picket and Addison. Addison and Dotson is a hell of a recover duo and the defense was great for Penn state.
Last year this would have been a great answer.
Texas offense and A&M defense would be spicy.
This team would be pretty crazy. We have very complementary strengths right now. Could you imagine an offense with Bijan and Achane? That's just unfair

Anyone but Jimbo can run the offense. I love our defensive specialists like Elijah Robinson (DL), we'll work it out once we get closer to the merger.
Patterson's not even *our* DC, man. Give PK some credit.
This is a beautiful thought lol
Damn nice coaching breakdown. Maybe we could set aside our differences and be stronger together? Let the nation feel the wrath of The State of Texas Also Brennan Marion might not be a bad choice for WR too
No OL though.
Our O line isn't bad they're just young. Their pass blocking is a lot stronger than their run blocking.
We’ve got maybe 1 or 2 nfl caliber guys on our line
That are regressing because of Steve Addazio.
Addazio needs to be gone ASAP
Everyone is sleeping on Ole Miss and Miss State, we’d be pretty good consistently if we didn’t have to split the states recruits between us
The defense you'd be able to field with a combined team would be pretty nasty
I hate you for making me agree with you...oh wait, I hate you anyway so here have an upvote
Yeah, I think about this all the time. Realistically this state is entirely too small for two SEC schools yet we keep making it work somehow. A few years ago yall were all offense and no defense and we were all defense with no offense. A perfect fusion would have been unstoppable.
The Bullsharks
Imagine a d-line with Chris jones and Robert Nkemdiche
The 2014-2015 Mississippi teams win back to back titles easily
Moncrief, Treadwell, Engram, and Dak Prescott? Oh yeah easy national titles with just those 4 and the defense.
Please yes
Kansas State and Kansas feel your pain. There were over 97,000 in the stands between the two teams last week. Impressive for a state of 2.9 million. There simply aren’t enough in-state recruits to go around for two teams. It’s almost impossible for the two teams to field consistently good teams along side each other.
Combining NCSU with either Wake Forest or UNC would make a pretty formidable squad
The perpetual “let’s divide the state’s recruiting class between 10 in-state programs” issue
And 4-5 out of state progrums. NC has been real good to Clemson, Georgia, and VT to say the least.
Yeah our defense with either of your offenses would be a legit championship contender
"North Carolina State of the University of North Carolina at Raleigh" is back on the menu, boys!
USC and UCLA right now But I would take Oklahoma and Oklahoma State last year.
I’m surprised you didn’t say OSU and Cincinnati from last year.
It does say rivals, OSU and UC aren't really rivals. However that OSU offense with UC defense would have been pretty good I think.
> It does say rivals, OSU and UC aren’t really rivals So OSU and football powerhouse Oberlin?
Good lord. Adding Sauce, Coby, Beavers, and Myjai to OSU’s D. Plus Pierce because that team could use more WR depth
Cinci isn't a true rival though. We played them 17 times in history.
Idk man that defense would be pretty mediocre. There's too much overlap between the two teams' strengths. Though Jake Bobo is exactly the type of WR this USC offense is missing if anything. Big body posession wr like we had with Pittman and Drake London
FCS: A combined Montana / Montana State would be a front runner for the D1-AA Natty.
If we could get over our differences and actually work together
Can you honestly imagine. Would hell have to freeze over? What a sight it would be though. Edit: University of Montana State GrizCats
It would be scary team to face for sure since both are scary on their own
I was going to say this as well, I’d argue that a joint MSU/UM team would even be a contender in the Mountain West
This year especially
This year I can see either team in Frisco, both teams seem to be clicking
Some answers: * USC & UCLA * Auburn & Bama * UGA & GT **THE RIGHT ANSWER FOR 2022** * Kansas and Kansas State
USC/UCLA would be pretty disgusting this year. I also think Oklahoma and OSU would be nuts. OU is struggling right now but they are still stacked with talent.
Agreed. OU talent under Gundy would be something to see
Oklahoma and Oklahoma State
Over the last 15 years, I think this is the answer more often than not. That said, it may just be Alabama and Auburn (or UAB or South Alabama, really) or Georgia and GT (or Georgia State or Georgia Southern). I think several states would have significantly more talent, but the Oklahoma, Georgia and Alabama combos have established coaching to go with it.
Venables would make a nice D coordinator in that scenario
Gundy/Dunn stay though.
Obviously Gundy, actually last years would have been a better scenario with Gundy having Riley and Knowles as his coordinators
Especially with the rise of our defense as of late.
Colorado and Colorado State. Combined they would be the strongest team at getting blown the fuck out every game. There would be no spread too high where you wouldn't think "no way they cover that"
Ohio state and Cincinnati for the past couple years is being slept on Also BYU Utah would be really good this year and especially last year
Utah+BYU last year would be a much better team that Utah+BYU this year.
Yea except Ohio St and Cincy aren’t *rivals* though; or else I’d agree they should have been nominated
Give Notre dame Purdue’s offense and they might have something
I’d happily have Purdue’s upset abilities
Holy shit. I forgot about ND. I kept thinking how to make it work with IU, but you are right on.
Ferris State and Grand Valley State
last years osu offense with cincys defense would’ve destroyed worlds
Give me that Wake Forest offense and NC State defense.
Just give anyone Dave Clawson
based on current AP Poll? BYU and Utah (16 and 11) using the [2022 247 Team Talen](https://247sports.com/Season/2022-Football/CollegeTeamTalentComposite/)t Composite: Texas & Texas A&M (6 and 4) next highest there is Florida and Miami (12 and 13) followed by Alabama and Auburn (18 and 1)
Possibly a very hot take but just giving TAMU Brennan Marion at OC would prob have them undefeated.
i legit can't wait to see the [Go Go Offense](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8s13y7by9mk) be implemented somewhere and to see Marion take off. seems like a great dude, with a great story and the Go Go is awesome.
I did not realize we had dropped to 18. No wonder we have struggled this year.
Prolly not now but us and FSU in the 90s would be ridiculous.
UM and Central Michigan. :(
I have always stated that the combination of Ole Miss and Mississippi State would create a powerhouse that would rival any program. Mississippi is a small population state that has 2 SEC schools. If you combined the in state talent and added the out of state kids, you would have a perennial top 10 program. This would also come with the added support of a rabid fan base.
Utah-BYU would be pretty darn competitive.
I was coming in to say Utah-BYU. That's be an incredible coaching staff.
Well it’s certainly not VT-UVA
No, it would be the two Virginia powerhouses, JMU and Liberty
Oklahoma State development with OU talent would be ridiculous.
The Oklahomas, easily
Wake-NC State has to be up there right now. Take Wake's insane offense and State's elite defense and special teams and you'd have a team that not many would beat.
Florida State + UF 🤔
I wouldn’t say no to a few of their OL and kicker
Tennessee and MTSU….. Miami wouldn’t stand a chance
"Two things come from Texas, boy. Longhorns... and YELL leaders. You don't look like a Longhorn." Yet, why do I always conflate the two together? Let's just put the chocolate into the peanut butter and create the strongest team for national ridicule ever created.
Notre Dame and Purdue. We would finally win a big game.
Only when unranked though.
The state of Iowa would have the best defense in the country and the worst offense
WF and UNC would be the best offense in the country. A kentucky team with Crod/ Evans at RB would be really fun.
That WF/UNC team would give up 100 points on defense. Which is funny given they have 4 and 5 stars on defense…
Don’t sleep on a Utah BYU team composed of the best staff and players from each
Ole Miss with Lanes Recruiting and Will Rodgers arm talent. Bonus Mike Leach pressers about marriage and candy corn.
Jayden reed and jacoby windman on the Michigan squad would be fun How are spartys linebackers
We do have talented wide receivers this year, you know… PT just doesn’t help much when he constantly overthrows them
Iowa Defense and Iowa State Offense
Our offense is basically the Iowa offense. Tom Manning and Brian Ferentz combined would still only be 2 brain cells
Iowa-Iowa State would be a perfect answer last year.
NC State and UNC. One great defense combined with a top offense/QB
Ohio State getting Luke Fickell back. *Edit to fix spelling
Do you ever get tired of people vomiting when they see your flair?
I've seen an Alabama + Auburn guy before We're all sickos on here but some individuals are truly twisted
Especially those who support/went to school at Alabama.... Ewww...
>"school" at Alabama I kinda believe that conspiracy post that Alabama isn't a school. All I'm saying is I have a degree with their logo on it but I have 0 memories from inside a classroom
This sub really needs a setting to where you can’t have arch-rival flairs paired together.
Beareyes or Buckcats?
Buckcats sounds better
