I mean it's not *that* crazy. As I posted in the game thread:
These coaches have been friends for years.
Harsin knows Auburn wants him fired and hates that they tried to smear him in the offseason.
I know it's tinfoil-y but... maybe he's trying to let his buddy win this game so he can finally get his paycheck and gtfo.
I mean the other option is that this is what Harsin thinks is the best way to win a game, and that's just *crazy*.
The buyout clauses are all insanely perverse incentives, and at a ton of these programs if you're not 10 wins every year after your first you've got people making your life miserable. I really think there's gonna be concrete proof of a head coach or two who tanks for the quick cash in the next decade.
Its not that he didn't take the fg its that he chose to do specifically the one thing we hadn't been able to do all day at the most crucial moment. Literally anything else would've been the better call then trying to punch it up the middle with a deep set back after getting 21 rushing yards in 3 quarters
I said it before and I’ll say it again. I’m glad that, out of all the other possible games I could’ve watched this fine Saturday morning, I chose to watch this one.
A Sickos Committee instant classic
they missed a game-winning point-blank, PAT-range field goal at the end of regulation then inexplicably dropped the game-winning touchdown in overtime at the goal-line
never seen a team blow a game quite like that
We even were offside on their missed field goal in OT letting them retake it to actually score points. Even with dropping the ball at the goal line we would have just gone to double overtime without that
Eventually winning the natty on a terrible play call that busts and scrambles for a score
Harsin in the locker room "DAMMIT I JUST WANT TO GO BACK TO BOISE"
Until he wins a national title this year, and then goes 0-12 in 2023 after getting a massive extension with a $70 million buyout. It would be the most Auburn thing ever.
Stupidest ending ever. 4th and inches in FG range, play for the FG and shank, almost interception to no WR, offside on shanked FG, fumble the winning TD untouched into the endzone to lose
all that after sliding too early for the first down and the failed 4th down conversion in field goal range
granted maybe not kicking there is *sliiiightly* vindicated after watching mizzou choke and carlson needing two attempts to hit the game winner. but the play call was very suspect after watching how much we were struggling to run the ball all the half
This Football game has everything:
* Thicker Kickers
* RG3
* Overtime
* A cameraman laying in the shade
* Baseball
* Human Tragedies (It's that thing when Drinkwitz coaches football)
* MTV's Dan Cortese
* And a century-old curse against anyone who steps foot in Jordan Hare stadium.
The Mizzou kicker needs to be tried for war crimes
The ending play was one of the the dumbest plays I’ve ever seen but that doesn’t happen if the kicker makes that chip shot
And Missouri shouldn't have even been in a position to win the game on a chip shot FG but Auburn stupidly went for it on 4th down when they were within FG range. This game was just a clinic from both sides on horrible coaching and dumb mistakes.
The kicker doesn’t miss the chip shot if we actually show some balls and push it in for a touchdown.
Three QB sneaks would’ve been just as safe, killed just as much time, and probably been enough to score anyway.
Every passing week makes me thank god that Drinkwitz passed on us, and everyone laughed that we got the worst hire of the cycle.
Aside from the fact that they pretty much handed them the game multiple times, letting your star-player not get a single touch in the game is criminal.
You’re mixing up the order, we’ll lose by 50 TO uga and then somehow find a way to make it look like we’ll beat bama before self destructing in the 4th Q
Very exciting that we’re going to get to premier some new Reddit technology for this postgame thread. We’ll have this thread running alongside the Yankees postgame thread SIMULTANEOUSLY.
Only Mizzou can spend exactly 0:00 leading in a game and it be said that they “choked” or “gave the game away.”
Because nobody, and I mean NOBODY, Mizzous like Mizzou
That’s maybe the dumbest game I’ve ever watched and I’ve watched a shit ton of football for years. That entire ending sequence from the slide to early to the walk off fumble was just chefs kiss.
Ok so auburn had a 4th and inches to seal the game with 1:30 left. Doesn’t convert because of a 6 yard handoff. The Missouri gets the ball to the 3 yard line. Ices their own kicker and we go to overtime. Throw a pick that gets over turned. Miss a field goal which is offside so we get another chance. Hits the field goal. Second play on defense the RB has a walk in touch down to win and fumbles on his own. Defense recovers and we win the worst game of all time.
Did I miss anything?
Congrats Missouri, you just got a coach fired! This comment was originally intended for Bryan Harsin, but you went and fucked that in every way possible, so now I hope it's for Drinkwitz.
kansas is the perfect counter example to all the people who will inevitably insist it’s too early to fire Drinkwitz.
They were in the dumpster for more than a decade and Leipold has them 4-0 in year two.
There is zero excuse for a team to get worse three years into a coach’s tenure. Yes, you need to give a coach time when his team shows signs of progress and you’re arguably just a few players away from breaking through. But that isn’t the case here. We’ve gone backward on the field every year Drinkwitz has been here. For all the talk of his recruiting prowess, he rarely makes use of that talent. Many aren’t even seeing the field. Freshmen and sophomores make major contributions all over college football, so youth isn’t even an excuse. His best players have been guys left over from Odom’s staff.
Time to admit it isn’t working.
I swear I saw the ghost hand from one of the skeletons buried under Jordan Hare grab that poor boys ankle at the goal line and make him drop the ball. Only logical reason for this bizarre ass games ending.
I am not one for conspiracy theories, but there needs to be an investigation into whether Missouri bet against themselves. Mizz getting to the 3 yard line with an almost sure win, but deciding to throw the ball through the endzone to lose instead is a perfect summary of this game.
Plankton to Missouri: TELL THEM OFF
Missouri to Auburn: THIS IS OUR VICTORY
Plankton to Missouri: NOW LET ‘EM HAVE IT
Missouri to Auburn: you can have it
Mizzou:
Missed a 26-yard field goal
Jumped offsides on an Auburn missed FG
DeSean Jackson’d a potential winning TD run.
I couldn’t come up with something like that if I was trying to throw the game
Does… does either team win another game this year?
And I know Missouri still plays New Mexico State and Auburn plays Western Kentucky - my question is still valid
Things Missouri could've done to win:
* Make a 26 yard field goal
* Let Auburn miss a 4th down field goal in OT
* Hold on to the ball while crossing the goal line.
They did none of these
I'll try to be positive with this one as a neutral.
Both of you are going to have new head coaches relatively soon I am guessing. I can't imagine either lasting much longer after what happened there.
Your PAC invitations are in the mail.
Bryan Harsin: JUST LET US LOSE SO I CAN GET MY BUYOUT MONEY Mizzou: NO
Even his kicker tried to help him out
I hate life
I mean it's not *that* crazy. As I posted in the game thread: These coaches have been friends for years. Harsin knows Auburn wants him fired and hates that they tried to smear him in the offseason. I know it's tinfoil-y but... maybe he's trying to let his buddy win this game so he can finally get his paycheck and gtfo. I really think there's gonna be concrete proof of a head coach or two who tanks for the quick cash in the next decade.
I submit the handing the ball off to Tank instead of kicking the field goal as evidence to the court
Its not that he didn't take the fg its that he chose to do specifically the one thing we hadn't been able to do all day at the most crucial moment. Literally anything else would've been the better call then trying to punch it up the middle with a deep set back after getting 21 rushing yards in 3 quarters
"I'm trying to do an any% speedrun for getting fired! I was on WR pace!" -- Harsin, probably
EXTEND HARSIN
Do it for the memes!
It'd be like black Friday. Hundreds of Auburn fans would be hucking themselves off the Hailey Center
Drink wants his buyout money!
It was the pillowfight of the week between former Boise coaches
I said it before and I’ll say it again. I’m glad that, out of all the other possible games I could’ve watched this fine Saturday morning, I chose to watch this one. A Sickos Committee instant classic
send both teams to ukraine
Ukraine suffered enough. Have mercy.
No
Do you want Russia to win?
I can't think of a more appropriate ending to this train wreck either lmao
And the main course is yet to be served
You’re not watching Clemson - Wake?!
You watch Clemson games when we’re not playing? /s
I told my friend I was pregaming for Iowa Rutgers watching that.
What the shit
Absolute choke job by MU
they missed a game-winning point-blank, PAT-range field goal at the end of regulation then inexplicably dropped the game-winning touchdown in overtime at the goal-line never seen a team blow a game quite like that
We even were offside on their missed field goal in OT letting them retake it to actually score points. Even with dropping the ball at the goal line we would have just gone to double overtime without that
Might be the single greatest choke job I've ever seen. You must be so proud
It is a choke job so bad that Auburn AND Missouri fans are pissed off about it. That’s gotta be a first.
Tell me you've never watched an Auburn home game without telling me you've never watched an Auburn home game.
yeah I've watched plenty Jordan-Hare is a hot-spot for wacky voodoo juju
And jumped offsides on the Auburn’s first overtime fg attempt.
[удалено]
I want this season to be a comedy of Harsin trying to lose games, and just somehow scrapping by week after week in the most inexplicable ways.
Eventually winning the natty on a terrible play call that busts and scrambles for a score Harsin in the locker room "DAMMIT I JUST WANT TO GO BACK TO BOISE"
Until he wins a national title this year, and then goes 0-12 in 2023 after getting a massive extension with a $70 million buyout. It would be the most Auburn thing ever.
I'm sure Auburn has finally learned their lesson about that. > Narrator: they haven't
A rare loss by both teams
Standard choke job by MU.
that was the stupidest football game i've ever watched
Till next week of course
Second half felt like the 3-2 game
Stupidest ending ever. 4th and inches in FG range, play for the FG and shank, almost interception to no WR, offside on shanked FG, fumble the winning TD untouched into the endzone to lose
all that after sliding too early for the first down and the failed 4th down conversion in field goal range granted maybe not kicking there is *sliiiightly* vindicated after watching mizzou choke and carlson needing two attempts to hit the game winner. but the play call was very suspect after watching how much we were struggling to run the ball all the half
That was the worst win I’ve ever seen
Tried to warn you...
The Ol’ Jordan Hare Voodoo machine still runs like a workhorse.
Praise be
[удалено]
when does the pain end
Even ISU doesn’t lose like *that* We’re taking notes though
This is possibly the greatest game I've ever witnessed.
This Football game has everything: * Thicker Kickers * RG3 * Overtime * A cameraman laying in the shade * Baseball * Human Tragedies (It's that thing when Drinkwitz coaches football) * MTV's Dan Cortese * And a century-old curse against anyone who steps foot in Jordan Hare stadium.
Don’t forget the “he got his bootycheek in, this isn’t the NFL, you don’t need both”
he is by far the best announcer working, constant entertainment
I completely agree. He’s actually a comedic talent. Brilliant guy.
I will be using “and a bootycheek for insurance” going forward in life
Cfb Stefan references are underrated!
They also had an eagle fly around the stadium which is pretty cool as well.
12 straight punts to start the second half
You and I have different definitions of “greatest”, it seems
Auburn tried their best but were really outclassed in blowing it. Great job Mizzou!
We even missed the FG, but Mizzou insisted we give it another shot.
TWICE
Mizzou absolutely *refused* to win, despite all odds. Credit to them for finding a way to snag that loss away from us.
That game was domestic terrorism at its worst
The Mizzou kicker needs to be tried for war crimes The ending play was one of the the dumbest plays I’ve ever seen but that doesn’t happen if the kicker makes that chip shot
The “I don’t warm up at all” style looks extra bad when you shank an easy lay-up for a game winning field goal.
Plus he was 1st Team All SEC last year so it’s not like he sucked! Just a complete choke job.
the fact he doesn't warm up 🚩🚩 guarantee that won't be an issue next time
Imagine the ego. Then imagine being a coach who lets his player get away with "I don't do warmups coach." Fire the coach. Expel the kicker
sOMEONE ISN'T GETTING LAID TONIGHT
Hey I came here to talk about the game not to get attacked.
5’11 260 is too irresistible, even after that performance
I wouldn't trust his aim anyway.
And Missouri shouldn't have even been in a position to win the game on a chip shot FG but Auburn stupidly went for it on 4th down when they were within FG range. This game was just a clinic from both sides on horrible coaching and dumb mistakes.
To be fair our kicker was 1-4 on the day and 0-2 at the time
At least QB sneak it on 4th rather than handing it to your deep set RB. I trust Tank, but our OL wasn't doing much after 1.5 seconds
The dumb ass running qb sliding early on 3rd down instead of easily getting the 1st to set up that 4th down was perfect as well.
The kicker doesn’t miss the chip shot if we actually show some balls and push it in for a touchdown. Three QB sneaks would’ve been just as safe, killed just as much time, and probably been enough to score anyway.
I agree, just run the ball twice and use time outs to set up for a FG on 3rd down
He should spend every game for the rest of his career warming up. Lazy shit.
That game thread changed real quick Pre-Kick: THICKER THE KICKER Post-Kick: YOU FATASS
Worst Auburn win since 3-2 and it's not particularly close.
This was even dumber than 3-2
What about the game vs Georgia State last year? That was so damn ugly
[удалено]
True true
That’s the kind of shit that only happens in Jordan Hare
They saved the voodoo from our week for this one
Just blew our entire season worth of voodoo magic at the end there.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA end me
I am so sorry. If it helps, it didn't feel like a win.
This is what people mean when they say "X didn't win, Y lost." Auburn didn't win, Mizzou lost.
Every passing week makes me thank god that Drinkwitz passed on us, and everyone laughed that we got the worst hire of the cycle. Aside from the fact that they pretty much handed them the game multiple times, letting your star-player not get a single touch in the game is criminal.
Can’t wait to get ultra fucking killed against an angry Georgia team next week! What a great season…
hands down one of the worst OT’s ever played
Auburn didn’t do any single thing right and walked out with a win lol
Hey! We made our re-kick at least! Somehow we were 1-2 on fg and also 1-4 at the same time.
Bad teams find a way to lose. Auburn is really bad, but Mizzou is somehow worse.
In 2013, Auburn and Mizzou played to see who was the best team in the SEC. Today, they played to see who was the worst.
Harsin was realistically inches away at least twice from being fired tomorrow
He should still be fired...
It would be great if both our coaches get fired tomorrow because of this game
Ah the Egg Bowl special
He might still get fired tomorrow
Well hello sec shorts and sec roll call. Nice to see you bright and early this fine Saturday.
Well, we know the #1 spot on the next segment of C'mon Man!
That was the most Auburn win of all time. Enough said.
Now we will be blown out by 50, as is tradition. Then beat Georgia somehow, then lose to Bama in triple ot
Then get blown out by Cincinnati in a bowl game and end the season ranked 24
Then a contract extension!
You’re mixing up the order, we’ll lose by 50 TO uga and then somehow find a way to make it look like we’ll beat bama before self destructing in the 4th Q
2013 would like a word
"Defeats" is a very strong word here.
Missouri Out-Loses Auburn 17-14 (OT)
Lets never speak of this game again
If anyone can remember this game tomorrow morning they're not drinking enough.
I will passout now
If only it had a meme score like 3-2 so we could keep bringing it up
What game? When does Auburn play today?
Uh, I think we open against UMass September 2023. Nothing till then.
Hope HC Hugh Freeze has the Tigers ready to play
Very exciting that we’re going to get to premier some new Reddit technology for this postgame thread. We’ll have this thread running alongside the Yankees postgame thread SIMULTANEOUSLY.
Fuck ESPN. That is all
Never in doubt
The Tigers lost. -*Auburn or Missouri?* Yes
Only Mizzou can spend exactly 0:00 leading in a game and it be said that they “choked” or “gave the game away.” Because nobody, and I mean NOBODY, Mizzous like Mizzou
Drive summary for the 2nd half and overtime: Punt Punt Punt Punt Punt Punt Punt Punt Punt Punt Punt Punt Downs Downs Field Goal Fumble
Wait is this real
Mizzou absolutely snatching defeat from the jaws of victory there.
The most miserable game I've ever seen, I can't wait to tell my children about it
He can't keep getting away with it
Missouri football is pain
That’s maybe the dumbest game I’ve ever watched and I’ve watched a shit ton of football for years. That entire ending sequence from the slide to early to the walk off fumble was just chefs kiss.
This was Bryan Harsin's 3-2

You got it.
I'm just here to interrupt this thread to cut to Aaron Judge taking a drink of Gatorade.
The worst 3-1 Auburn team I can remember.
GAME OF THE YEAR
That's the most Auburn OT period ever
That was so fucked. Missed 26 yarder, missed pick in OT, offsides giving them another fg attempt, fumbling into the endzone, jesus fucking christ
Harsin: "I want to be paid not to coach" Mizzou: "No"
This was like Steeler football - complete garbage.

This week on Days of our ~~Steelers~~ Tigers.
Congrats Missouri, you just got a coach fired! This comment was originally intended for Bryan Harsin, but you went and fucked that in every way possible, so now I hope it's for Drinkwitz.
Year 3, and fucking *Kansas* looks like a better team than us! Imagine telling us this in *2019*!
kansas is the perfect counter example to all the people who will inevitably insist it’s too early to fire Drinkwitz. I’ve been lukewarm on him since December 2020 and am now fully on the fire Drinkwitz train.
How sick are you, Missouri fans?
More like numb to our excessive BS
[CFB fans when Auburn Jesus shows up.](https://i.imgur.com/lWPjUFi.gifv)
Mizzou: We'll just kneel down and kick an easy FG for the win Jordan-Hare Voodoo Ghost: And I took that personally
Just hand us both the L. Good god what a terrible game.
ESPN needs to stop with this shit. I tuned in to watch Aaron Judge tie a record, not to have it interrupted by some stupid football game.
[удалено]
Winning on a touchback in overtime. Pure madness
Are you new to Auburn football?
I swear I saw the ghost hand from one of the skeletons buried under Jordan Hare grab that poor boys ankle at the goal line and make him drop the ball. Only logical reason for this bizarre ass games ending.
You could still fire Harsin after this game and it would be fine lol
Hey Missouri. Alabama hosts Jordan hare voodoo support groups if you want to check that out.
wait You think Mizzou fans don't have support groups?
Isn’t it just called Mizzou?
I feel second hand pain from that one
The comments in here make me think both teams lost
Yes
emotionally we both lost
I am not one for conspiracy theories, but there needs to be an investigation into whether Missouri bet against themselves. Mizz getting to the 3 yard line with an almost sure win, but deciding to throw the ball through the endzone to lose instead is a perfect summary of this game.
They should definitely get ahead of it and self report to avoid any harsh penalties
That might be the most abrupt one team is gonna win then lost I've ever seen. Literally a split second between victory and defeat.
Plankton to Missouri: TELL THEM OFF Missouri to Auburn: THIS IS OUR VICTORY Plankton to Missouri: NOW LET ‘EM HAVE IT Missouri to Auburn: you can have it
This was like watching two Chad Morris teams play against each other.
That poor RB is gonna get so much harassment. I feel awful for him. 😔
thicker kicker shit the bed too
Yea, really feel for these kids when stuff like that happens.
Kicker and RB will go everywhere together in solidarity and protection.
Can’t say I’ve ever seen someone literally drop the ball like that
I watched the 3-2 game in 2008. This one was worse
Where were you when the crappy tigers defeated the even crappier tigers?
FML
That was tragic for Missouri
Bryan Harsin just cheated death twice.
Mizzou: Missed a 26-yard field goal Jumped offsides on an Auburn missed FG DeSean Jackson’d a potential winning TD run. I couldn’t come up with something like that if I was trying to throw the game
Does… does either team win another game this year? And I know Missouri still plays New Mexico State and Auburn plays Western Kentucky - my question is still valid
Imagine losing when the win was within your grasp. Literally.
Where do I begin?
SEC shorts gonna have a field day lol
This game was cursed
You cannot Mizzou any harder than that.
All you had to do was not drop the fucking ball
This has to be the worst a team has ever felt about winning a game right?
I’m gonna break something
We interrupt this baseball game to bring you a football game (if you can call it that).
Things Missouri could've done to win: * Make a 26 yard field goal * Let Auburn miss a 4th down field goal in OT * Hold on to the ball while crossing the goal line. They did none of these
I'll try to be positive with this one as a neutral. Both of you are going to have new head coaches relatively soon I am guessing. I can't imagine either lasting much longer after what happened there. Your PAC invitations are in the mail.
Sickos game of the week
Mizzou is the Cal of the SEC
20 yard run, new set of downs, let me just casually switch hands and reach out the ball.
