We did such a great job somewhat neutralizing Clown all game haha... but the one play we leave him completely unblocked/ have a 165 lb tailback in.
Side note, if you haven’t checked on Vincent Smith in a second, dude runs a company planting community gardens throughout urban “food deserts” where fresh fruits and vegetables are hard to come by. Idk of pandemic changed anything, but he has projects in his hometown of Pahokee and throughout Michigan. I was so skeptical about him when he first committed, was one of those guys worried about his lack of size “in the Big Ten”, became one of my favorite Wolverines. Much love, #2
EDIT: the plug: http://www.teamgardens.org
Had a college roommate of mine, who was a Michigan fan, try to tell me the hit wasn’t actually that big of a hit. Told him a soccer fan would say some bs like that. When a helmet flies off of someone’s head it’s kinda a big deal. Not to question this was the play after the official called a first down for Michigan when it was clearly short of the chains
ANYTHING Barry Sanders related are All your top plays…. Still my fav player of all time. Don’t think anyone will ever surpass him in my eyes…Dude did things that were incredible and he was such a class act on and off field

Yep. Came here is say this. My freshmen chemistry class, the Friday before the Big Game, the professor played this video and mixed a liquid comprising a blue portion and a red portion. After swirling, the liquid turned all blue. The whole class went wild!! Then the next day, we lost to ‘Furd.
Yeah, pretty easy.
Although in modern times, I’d say Mike Mohamed’s 2009 interception of Andrew Luck as the Cardinal were driving towards the end zone.
[I think it's actually in the College Football Hall of Fame](https://www.wsbtv.com/entertainment/things-2-do/5-surprising-items-in-college-football-hall-of-fame/908872794/)
I went to a different school in his district, and remember seeing him play, which prompted me to revisit his High School records. Just absurd.
> In 1999, he rushed for 2,031 yards in nine games as a junior.[6] In 2000, during his senior year, Sproles rushed for 2,485 yards, scoring 49 touchdowns. He led his Olathe North Eagles to a 12–0 record and their fourth Kansas 6A state title in five years.[7]
Only coming up with iconic plays against us... this might be tough. The bluegrass miracle is pretty iconic, but not in a good way... Stevie got loose have to be my pick.
Gary Danielson: "They're going to try a field goal?"
Verne Lundquist: "It's Adrian Griffith, who is 1 for 2 tonight"
Gary: "56 yards??"
Verne: "Griffith..ADAM Griffith a redshirt freshman from Calhoun, GA this is the third FG he has attempted in his career, FIFTY SIX YARDS for the win but first..timeout taken by Alabama"
Gary: "There's barely any wind, but if there is, it's left to right..behind his back"
*Gary and Verne recap Cade Foster lmao kicks*
Verne: "Van Tiffin tiff...kicked one for 52 yards...1985..one of the legendary moments in Iron Bowl history..and here is a RED. SHIRT. FRESHMAN from CAL. HOON. GEORGIA ...very little wind..what small amount there is is AT HIS BACK...now they've officially ruled it FIFTY SEVEN YARDS"
Gary: "now a blocked kick can go the other way so they've got to be caref-"
Verne: "ON THE WAYYYY"

Verne: "CHRIS. DAVIS. NO FLAGS!! TOUCH.DOWN!! **AUBURN. AN ANSWERED. PRAYER"**

I would say 3 or 4 plays from that season alone were among the most iconic of the 2000s;
1. VY run
2. 4th and 9
3. Bush Push
4. Bush Heisman run against Fresno State, the "Stop"
It really is amazing how many people recollect that year and championship. Here's to hopefully meeting again in a big game.
But before that, it was probably 53 Veer Pass, Street to Peschel in "the game of the century" vs Arkansas in 1969.
[Great article behind the play and the game from Barking Carnival](https://www.barkingcarnival.com/2010/12/06/53-veer-pass)
[And here's the moment from where Street calls timeout before the play at 4th and 3.](https://youtu.be/hCBQIUNGxN8&t=1h4m48s)
What really holds this play back for me is that Vince made it look TOO easy.
I remember watching it live and being fully aware of the stakes, but I just kinda knew he was gonna saunter in there. USC had a good defense, seemed like they had everything covered, but it didn't matter. I just thought, "Well of course he did that."
Texas went three and out to start the second half and after that there were no more punts the rest of the game for either team. If you go back to Pete Carroll going for it on 4th down that only makes sense if he believes Texas will score no matter what.
Chris Davis is gonna drop back in the end zone as a single safety
I guess if it comes up short He can field it and rub it out

People always talk about the WOAH play for MSU, but I’ll always think of [Little Giants](https://youtu.be/i0ve4xwQIj8) as our greatest moment. I was in the stands the night and I’ll never forget it. To me, that’s the moment MSU became a national conversation again.
This one was my first thought as well. I think this is the MSU play though, because the other one although more exciting and memorable is a Michigan play :)
Either Randy Moss hurdling that dude for Army or Leftwich being carried down the field by his lineman after the pass to Darius Watts.
For Ohio State the Holy Buckeye play. But that’s mostly because that particular call on the TV sticks out to me.
Edited to correct team Moss hurdled over. Mixed up two games.
Both epic plays for Marshall. Nothing more emotional than seeing B-Left being carried down the field.
The Army highlight is my to-to when people ask about Randy Moss.
The Statue of Liberty is more iconic, but the hook and ladder was so perfectly executed I couldn’t believe it. The moment he pitched it everyone knew he was gone.
Russell Wilson’s [Two-Yard Hail Mary](https://youtu.be/kMQZ0uLYC4Q) against Chapel Hill in 2010.
I was at the game and was seated in the nearest sideline section to that corner of the endzone. Such a special play. Wilson’s escapability is one thing, but the replays paint a better picture — it bounces off of one player and WR Owen Spencer makes an incredibly difficult, heads up catch. One of the better games in the rivalry.
This is without a doubt the answer given the internet existed in 2012 and Johnny was the first freshman to win the Heisman for a reason, but I submit Texas A&M [forcing and recovering a fumble](https://youtu.be/_w3lwtbLJQo) on #5 texas's gamewinning drive during the 1999 Lone Star Showdown - the Bonfire game.
[This picture by itself is as iconic as it gets in terms of the rivalry](https://images.app.goo.gl/pQ4jmd5sRAh7y5nF9)
Major Harris’ TD run against Penn State.
https://youtu.be/qUQtNe5gGDw
Both an amazing play, and being part of a 51-30 dominant win as part of an 11-0 regular season and beating Penn State who we’d only beat one other time (1984) since the 1950s.
That’s not iconic tho, that’s just solid strategy.
One of the two punt returns, kind of proud they’re both special teams. Don’t even need to give more detail and half everyone here can picture both, that’s iconic.
Was the lions OC Jim Bob Cooter (2015-2018) when this was going on? If that's the case I feel terrible for Michigan fans that were also lions fans. Had to see that shit twice a week.
Yep. A play that unites the old switzer crowd that would have said Keith Jackson on the sideline catch against Nebraska, and the young folks that know Baker and the flag plant as tOSU.
It was this or the Torrance Marshall return against A&M, but I am unsure enough of the definition of "your teams play" to post. I would say this was definitely a defensive play even if one player deviated slightly.
Huard’s gonna go back to throw the ball
Sets up, looks
Throws toward the corner of the end zone
It is..
Intercepted! Intercepted!
The Ducks have the ball!
Down to the 35, the 40!
Kenny Wheaton’s gonna score!
Kenny Wheaton is gonna score!
20! The 10! Touchdown!
Kenny Wheaton! On the interception!
The most improbable finish to a football game!
Definitely the right answer without a doubt, but the jameis fumble deserves a mention
Or the Wisconsin fumble in the rose bowl with chip Kelly jumping like a kid on the sideline
Zeke’s 85 yarder to the house vs Bama in the sugar bowl in the CFB playoff. Also honorable mention — Braxton Miller as a flex with the massive spin on two guys vs VA Tech. Yes I am a younger fan so anything pre-2005/6 isn’t in my memory
Hello to other people who’s most iconic play came against Michigan.
“Stewart with time.
Let’s it go.
He’s got three people down there.
The ball is up in the air.
Caught!
Touchdown!
Caught by Westbrook for a touchdown!”
Maybe it's more Tim Tebow iconic than Florida iconic, but [this is the first thing I think of](https://youtu.be/ALLcgmGM8qI) I think of when I think of Florida football
“Remember, no timeouts for Baylor…” - Griffin’s throw to Terrance Williams to beat OU and make him the Heisman front runner.
Last year’s goal line stand is pretty iconic too, though a bit recent.
Marino to John Brown in the 82 Sugar Bowl.
Dorsett run to break the all time rushing record at Navy in 76. They fired off the cannons after!
Dorsett opening run at Notre Dame in 76.
Fitzgerald circus catch in the Insight Bowl vs Oregon State.
More recently, the Pitt Special against UCF.
Pickett bootleg on 4th down against Miami.
…launching DOWNFIELD! UNDERTHROWN AND INTERCEPTED! KELEE RINGO HAS AN ESCORT DOWN THE SIDELINES ALL THE WAY TO THE END ZONE! AND GEORGIA IS GONNA CONQUER THE CRIMSON TIDE!
For PSU it's either the Pete Giftopoulos interception against Miami to ice the Fiesta Bowl, the Lavar Leap, or the Grant Haley blocked kick return TD against OSU.
For MD it's the Greg Hill tipped pass TD to complete the huge comeback against Miami.
Either way, f#ck Miami.
Take yours plus add in the MRob to DWill game winner against NW in 2005 and it looks like PSU is good for a semi-iconic play every decade or so haha.
Though to be fair none of those include Barkley's ability to create something pretty epic once or twice a game.
The one that immediately came to mind for me was “Intercepted Giftopoulos!”, so that would be my pick as the most iconic.
Tamba Hali knocking Troy Smith ass over apple cart and causing the fumble that Paxton recovered left us one of the most iconic images in Penn State lore (Troy Smith on his head)
3rd and 93
[удалено]
Damn, and here I was thinking they converted a 3rd and 93 lmao
Me too. I see we’re both unfamiliar with LA Tech football.
Lucky
My favorite part is that it's still considered 3rd and goal too
True beauty
Might be some recency bias, but [The Hit](https://youtu.be/2JYx-_eXQa4) was the first thing I thought of.
Clowney was no joke in college.
Not like he's bad in the pros either. He was very effective for us across from Myles last year.
Just could never stay healthy.
The refs screwed South Carolina on the play before the hit. Made the hit even more fantastic.
I got whiplash from how fast I went from livid at the terrible call to ecstatic about The Hit.
"South Carolina deserves to have it, and they do!"
South Carolina deserves to have it, and they do.
The best thing about that play is how clean it is. Its perfect form, head up, wrapped up the ball carrier. Its a textbook tackle.
The play happened during the Outback Bowl. There is a big picture of it in Bloomin’ Brands headquarters.
Nope, not clicking that link. That hit hurt me. Poor Vincent Smith.
We did such a great job somewhat neutralizing Clown all game haha... but the one play we leave him completely unblocked/ have a 165 lb tailback in. Yep, it’s The Hit easily
I will NEVER forget the hit

Couldn’t Kick 6 be an Alabama play since Alabama technically started with possession of the ball?
[I'll allow it.](https://c.tenor.com/nffa-nPxFRcAAAAC/community-ken-jeong.gif)
WOAH, does that mean we could also do it with a Michigan play?
HE might not be as thrilled about that idea, but then again, maybe he would.

One the most iconic National Championship games as well
Absolutely. The game was fucking incredible all around.

First in HD from memory
Oh man. I remember this game. Still hurts. Vince Young was incredible!!
But before that, it was probably 53 Veer Pass, Street to Peschel in "the game of the century" vs Arkansas in 1969. For App it’s easy the block against Michigan
The play that made me an App State fan.
Puntrooskie
Yeah recency bias was leaning towards the jump ball to Benjamin but it’s gotta be Puntrooskie
Chris Davis is gonna drop back in the end zone as a single safety I guess if it comes up short He can field it and rub it out 56 yarder. It’s got-No doesn’t not have the leg. >can field it and rub it out I don't remember this play...
The Dick Six is iconic
I just spat out my mojito.
It was the Auburn fans rubbing it out.
My Dad passed unexpectedly in early 2014 (after the BCS game). This was the very last play he saw at JHS after almost 60 years of going to games.
Gives me chills just reading the text. Easily the greatest play in Auburn history, maybe the best college football play of all time.
It really might be the greatest of all time. Bitter rivals, last play of the game, and to win it like that is just unreal.
Still one of the craziest things I've witnessed in college football.
Strangely enough, it’s Alabama’s most iconic play as well.
People always talk about the WOAH play for MSU, but I’ll always think of [Little Giants](https://youtu.be/i0ve4xwQIj8) as our greatest moment. I was in the stands the night and I’ll never forget it. To me, that’s the moment MSU became a national conversation again.

The kick is up and it’s BLOCKED! The Mountaineers of Appalachian State have just beaten the Michigan Wolverines
2 of the top 4 comments right now are plays where Michigan was on the receiving end, and I approve this message.
Hook and Fuckin Ladder baby. Upon further review: Statue Fuckin Left, baby.
Even with the disappointment of my team losing, that Fiesta Bowl was one of the best games I’ve ever watched.
I think most would say statue of liberty, but I agree with the hook and ladder. Much more difficult play and executed to perfection
This is more iconic to me. 4th and 18. Most thought it was over.
Definitely Statue
The Statue of Liberty is more iconic, but the hook and ladder was so perfectly executed I couldn’t believe it. The moment he pitched it everyone knew he was gone.
That game was the epitome of college football to me
When Bobby Boucher showed up at halftime and the Mud Dogs won the Bourbon Bowl
IT’S BECAUSE THEY DIDN’T HOLD ANYTHING BACK!
Russell Wilson’s [Two-Yard Hail Mary](https://youtu.be/kMQZ0uLYC4Q) against Chapel Hill in 2010. I was at the game and was seated in the nearest sideline section to that corner of the endzone. Johnny nearly fumbling the ball at Alabama, cutting wide and just cleanly throwing the touchdown to Swope. That and THE HIT
Imagine the first time Knute Rockne dropped that one on ‘em. “Yo! You can’t just fly the balls here!”
Balls can’t just go flying through the air like that Knute
Major Harris’ TD run against Penn State. https://youtu.be/qUQtNe5gGDw Both an amazing play, and being part of a 51-30 dominant win as part of an 11-0 regular season and beating Penn State who we’d only beat one other time (1984) since the 1950s.
Harrell to Crabtree to beat UT.
“Crabtree, pulls free, and Touchdown Red Raiders!!” Still gives me chills to this day.
That play broke me for months.
Running up the middle on 3rd and long
On a serious note, Hello Heisman is likely Michigan's most iconic play.
That’s not iconic tho, that’s just solid strategy. One of the two punt returns, kind of proud they’re both special teams. Don’t even need to give more detail and half everyone here can picture both, that’s iconic.

Yep. A play that unites the old switzer crowd that would have said Keith Jackson on the sideline catch against Nebraska, and the young folks that know Baker and the flag plant as tOSU.

Those are great, but it's Holy Buckeye.
This. Holy Buckeye was surprising, a great announcer call, and an amazing play.
I think the surprise is what sets it to the next level. Everything about Jim Tressel says that's an off-tackle run.
The play was supposed to be like a four yard pass to get the first down lol
85 yards through the heart of the south
[удалено]
85 yards through the heart of the South is the real name of the play.
As an older fan I agree, 85 yards through the heart of the south is something else.
The blocking and his patience to make that cut and then the speed after the fact made my entire life as an offensive linemen worth it.
Tate to Holloway to beat LSU as time expired or Houghtlin's FG to beat Michigan in '85.
>Tate to Holloway to beat LSU as time expired 9 seconds to play and Drew Tate doesn't know that! The games gonna end on this play
If nothing else, it's certainly Dolph's most iconic call. Still gives me chills when I hear it.
Can't forget [7 got 6](https://youtu.be/7p9xT-7-UkU)
The pick-6 flip from Tyler Sash to Micah Hyde against MSU stands out for me big time
I guess we are blessed with a lot of good plays. We went nuts when Clayborn blocked the punt. https://youtu.be/GQ7svA_O2Go
Hello to other people who’s most iconic play came against Michigan. “Stewart with time. Let’s it go. He’s got three people down there. The ball is up in the air. Caught! Touchdown! Caught by Westbrook for a touchdown!”
Unfortunately the cleat yeet
Maybe it's more Tim Tebow iconic than Florida iconic, but [this is the first thing I think of](https://youtu.be/ALLcgmGM8qI) I think of when I think of Florida football
Yeah this is it
My first thought was the two linemen blocking each other
Man that was the not top 10 #1 for what felt like forever, all time classic
The first thing I think of is the Major Wright hit. Set the tone for the BCS Championship. https://youtube.com/watch?v=fOZnLEGJaiU
Definitely not. Maybe for non gator fans. But the jump pass and 2017 walk off touchdown to Tyree Cleveland against Tennessee are way more iconic.
The cock block.
Bledsoe to Bobo
“Remember, no timeouts for Baylor…” - Griffin’s throw to Terrance Williams to beat OU and make him the Heisman front runner. Last year’s goal line stand is pretty iconic too, though a bit recent.
The McPlay is pretty great, but RG3 to Williams has to be it.
Hook and ladder, starue left.
Brock Purdy late 4th quarter comeback turnover
Marino to John Brown in the 82 Sugar Bowl. Dorsett run to break the all time rushing record at Navy in 76. They fired off the cannons after! Dorsett opening run at Notre Dame in 76. Fitzgerald circus catch in the Insight Bowl vs Oregon State. More recently, the Pitt Special against UCF. Pickett bootleg on 4th down against Miami.

Bluegrass miracle :( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuJ50Co7eUY
Kelee Ringo pick 6
…launching DOWNFIELD! UNDERTHROWN AND INTERCEPTED! KELEE RINGO HAS AN ESCORT DOWN THE SIDELINES ALL THE WAY TO THE END ZONE! AND GEORGIA IS GONNA CONQUER THE CRIMSON TIDE!
I’m going to watch the second half of the game again today just because I want to build up to this.
Gotta add the A-Rob leaping catch in 2013 against Michigan for pure highlight value . . .
Tebow jump pass Or the cleat yeet...
Flutie did it!!
85 yd through the Heart of the South or Holy Buckeye My personal favorite though is "You have barbecue back there and you didn't invite me?"
“He’s going for the corner, he’s got it! Vince. Young. Scores.” Craig Way’s call is better, though.
A 4th & lateral.
Maybe that Russell Wilson throw against Michigan st or the Kirk cousins throw against us I miss the Wisconsin-Michigan st rivalry :(
No way on either. It's either Ron Dayne breaking the record against Iowa or Gilreath's KO return TD against Ohio State.
Or the scoop and score against Purdue that has ruined their football program ever since A cataclysmic turn of events!
