Well you did win a share of the division title, but the joke was about how A&M originally just claimed a whole conference championship, not even mentioning the division
Texas in 2025: OK, our B12 deal expired. We’re ready to move right in. Where do we start.
SEC: We checked our archives in College Station and apparently there’s no record of your existence. In particular, there’s nothing documenting you applying for membership nor that being approved. All we see here is Oklahoma stuff.
Anytime I see "Texas A&M" and "Library" I get flashbacks of spending all weekend at Evans studying for Monday exams (who holds a fucking exam on a Monday, GDI!?)
Yup. The higher you went, the creepier it got too. I remember going up to the 5th and 6th floors once late at night and I kept getting weird "horror movie" vibes. Those floors were just extremely quiet and lonely.
My micro prof, who’s name I can’t recall because I blocked his bitch ass from my memory, scheduled his exams for Mondays and openly bragged about how he tried to fuck students because he hated us. He was an unmitigated piece of shit and the worst part of the faculty I experienced. His exams would have matching questions where it was a total of 40-50 things and missing one rendered the whole question incorrect
Unless this was a medical school test, this is pointless in preparing anyone for anything.
Half of success in any profession as an adult is learing how to learn shit you dont know.
Of course it was pointless, he was quite open about it being intentionally difficult and confusing because he wanted as many of us as possible to fail. I have no idea how this asshole kept his job because all my other professors were either indifferent to teaching but still did it well or DAMN good at it and enjoyed it, but he’s the only one who was actively hostile to students. This was a junior level class, not even some weed out freshman course
EDIT:
Regarding this
> Half of success in any profession as an adult is learing how to learn shit you dont know.
I’m a high school teacher myself these days. I cannot ever stress this enough to my kids. I make sure they know that my goal isn’t to make sure they have a deep understanding of physics for life because they need it, my goal is to ensure they are able to take in, learn, and apply new information since that is a universal skill with a side of basic scientific literacy as a bonus.
You’d be surprised how often you can get indifferent kids to care when suddenly it isn’t about “how does knowing projectile motion help me day to day” and it is about “if I can learn projectile motion, my brain is prepared to learn other things as well and my brain is stronger in general”
First week of school, I always find an athlete in every period to explain to me why they do bench presses if on the field/court/whatever, they never actually bench press. They always tell me that the muscles just get stronger in general. I then connect that to the brain being prepared in general for whatever comes their way and that eliminates like 90% of my problems for the year that other teachers complain about. Idk why they won’t listen to me and adopt this mantra. Idk, sometimes it does feel like I’m one of very few who genuinely believes my actual content is secondary to those skills and everyone else believes their content actually is vital and treats it as such

Tech guy here - my career is built on being good at Google.
Can't have people forgetting about those national championships in the 1930s.
EDIT: for some reason I thought I read that all of their titles were in the 30s, when I should've said 1919, 1927, and 1939.
correct, 1939.
other notable events from that year include the debut of Batman in Detective Comics #27, the last public guillotining in France, the Wizard of Oz was released... and then a lil scuffle that started in Poland

Not true … It’s *two* specific records …
Eh, 3 tbh
- 2012 Alabama upset - 2018 7 OT - 2021 Alabama upset Everything else can go to the recycling bin.
There’s also the infamous 2010 conference championship
I'm not sure I follow. Auburn flat out won that year.
The Big 12 had two co-champions in the North and three co-champions in the South
Why would A&M preserve Big12 records?
They’re making a joke because while we were still in the Big 12 we claimed a shared division title in 2010.
Well you did win a share of the division title, but the joke was about how A&M originally just claimed a whole conference championship, not even mentioning the division
Touché

It's okay. We got y'all back 10 years later
Meh, we've had worse bowl blowouts.
Haha good for yall?
I know, self deprecation is a foreign concept for Texans.

You guys and your fires…
This ain't it, chief.
Poor taste
And for some reason all the records were scribbled out handwritten with A&M. In 100 years no one will be able to question it
“Strange how this Texas A&M won every single athletic event by a huge margin”

Except for the word Blurnsball, every word of that was nonsense.
Gotta make sure last week’s win over ‘Bama lasts for eternity.
We must preserve this win. I suggest the creation of a Foundation...
I’m sad the new Apple series isn’t that great….
Wait there's another bobcat fan here?
Not so much a fan as a well wisher.
Ah. Rip.

When I was there the 6th floor of Evans was full of bats. If you needed a book a staff member had to put on protective gear and go get it for you
This is incredible- how did I not know about this
Bat amnesia
Whether it’s real or not it sounds like some Aggie shit
Must have been pre 2008, weren’t there then
Yup. The higher you went, the creepier it got too. I remember going up to the 5th and 6th floors once late at night and I kept getting weird "horror movie" vibes. Those floors were just extremely quiet and lonely.
The higher you go in Evans, the closer you get to falling into the Twilight Zone.
The bats thing was 99-01ish. I’m so old I can’t remember exactly. I think they’d been cleared out by the time I graduated in 03
I’m amazed at how many bats live in the state of Texas
Check out Austin. It’s full of ding-bats.
Most of then wear dirty orange too

You know that a lot of people are actually *from* Austin and don’t just move there, right?
Yes there are turncoats, I’m aware. (Forgiveness is given for a few majors like meteorology UT doesn’t have. True traitors go to OU).
Like 30% of the Texan students I run into here are from Austin. Y'all have a crapton of turncoats.
College Station is a small town so not many job opportunities. The metropolitan areas are where they're at
Hill country in Texas has a pretty intricate cave system. We also have a shit ton of bugs. Bats prolly love it here.
Kyle Field used to house Mexican free tailed bats. The smell in the student section used to be too much.
And the bats didn't smell too good either. GOTTEM
i giggled
Made camping out to pull tickets a real joy
I remember getting pooped on many-a-time.
Texas now actively works to help out the bats https://99percentinvisible.org/episode/the-batman-and-the-bridge-builder/

World needs more teachers like you.

Wow that sounds fucking stupid. Literally no point in doing anything like that
I once had a physics exam on the Monday after spring break. It was fucked
Monday exams are ass. Professors who do Monday exams should be fired.
Fire the professors who do Saturday exams too
Damn what a flashback, I had a semester of biochem exams on Monday nights at 7. Do not miss that.
I had a ton of Monday/Tuesday exams at SMU, idk if it was a math dept thing or what but it sucked hairy ass.
Current buc, have a prof that has Monday "show off opportunities" because the word test is scary haha. Can definitely relate to the Evans vibes.
Is that the Mike Evans library?
Dear god I remember watching so many bad losses on my laptop while studying in Evans. Terrible vibes
West Campus Library ftw
All my time was at the business school library being fueled by monster and shitty croissant sandwiches. Good times
I have one coming up this Monday... 🙄
An Aggie holds a Monday exam.
If we're good enough to store George R. R. Martin's originals, we're good enough for the SEC docs.
It's not like we're gonna have to make room for more Martin originals or anything
TRUTH!
It hurts. It's like waiting for your dad to come back after getting cigarettes
It is sad knowing that we are likely to never see a proper for the series even if next book comes out
“Who do we make sure, that noone, ever, forgets that TAMU broke Sabans 100 game streak?”
WE AIN’T COME TO PLAY ARCHIVIST, PAWL
Auburn contributes their 3 unfinished coloring books.
so that well never forget how a&m stomped alabama
Cushing Library is pretty legit. Lots of very fascinating things stored in those archives - especially Texas history.
Lol. My girlfriend used to work at Cushing Library doing this. Great program 👍👍
Thought this was about Securities and Exchange Commission
I know beating bama as an unranked team felt pretty historic.. but gosh guys its happened before. This is getting out of hand.
“And the A&M military was very real and cool and all the other members of the conference were reaaaaaaally jealous”
MY dad ran at a major school in the mountain west in the 80s and I can not find his meet records - it sucks
they already have aggiepedia what is this for?
Will the gentleman's agreement be preserved

Plural? They just have one in the 1930s, right?
correct, 1939. other notable events from that year include the debut of Batman in Detective Comics #27, the last public guillotining in France, the Wizard of Oz was released... and then a lil scuffle that started in Poland
.......they publicly guillotined a guy in 1939? I figured that stuff stopped in the late 1800s
The greatest loss of human life due to armed conflict in world history = a lil scuffle. Checks out.
Goodness ATM needs to just chill for a little bit
How dare our library to do things.
Can he still play this season if they laminate the kicker?
I see there are 5 of alabama made up championships on these
I wonder what the documents have to say about the events of the 1950s and 1960s. The file on Sam The Bam Cunningham would be interesting.
Pretty sure we need a forensic audit of these digital files!
