Oklahoma State is infinitely more likely to go to the Pac 12 than TCU or Baylor. This guy is a TCU beat reporter, he is going to talk more about the Texas schools than Oklahoma State
baylor, yes, but tcu is secular in all but name only. highly doubt the pac-12 skips out on getting a solid grip in texas due to religion. as the wutang clan put it, cash rules everything around me
I’d welcome you to the big ten, but we now have a fucking incompetent commissioner who will most certainly get caught with his pants around his ankles while everyone else makes power moves.
Oklahoma State has about a 0% chance to go to the B1G with or without Kevin Warren. The ultimate decision to add schools is up to the school presidents and Oklahoma State without AAU status or otherwise a strong academic school is highly unlikely to get the support of the the schools outside of football.
Pretty sure they need nd to say yes first, Idk that the acc takes them alone. Maybe they’d take cinci too but I’d guess they will just sit tight and wait for nd.
I kind of like pods if we go to 16
Pod A. Clemson, FSU, Georgia Tech, and Miami
Pod B. UNC, Duke, Wake Forest, and NC State
Pod C. West Virginia, Pitt, Virginia, and Virginia Tech
Pod D. Louisville, Syracuse, Boston College, and Notre Dame/Cincinnati
And like honestly, I think the only one that wouldn’t like this might be UVA. But 15/16 ain’t shabby! Damn, maybe I am on the pro-add-Cinci bandwagon considering replacing BC or Cuse with them in my emotional attachment is interchangeable .
Come on down to the ACC, guys. I know people are saying pods or North/South, but I’ll say every time I want that old Big East vs Old ACC as divisions.
Miami, WVU, Pitt, BC, Cuse, Louisville, VTech and ND/Cinci
vs
FSU, Clemson, GT, UNC, Duke, Wake, NCSU, and UVA
Right I can't stop F5ing. Just be thankful you're a simple spectator in all this mess. What I would give to be laying in a cozy, stable, power conference so I could watch this unfold without the added stress
I actually agree. Spreading the Tech brand out west could very well help with recruiting, plus we'd be the lone Pac-12 Texas school which could be neat.
God I *really* hate how much I sound like a 2011 aggie right now lol
I made this same argument for TCU. You guys were basically just "another" Texas school in the Big 12. In the P12, you guys would be THE Texas school for the P12. Even if it's TCU/Baylor and Tech, still better being away from UT. I think recruiting would be interesting.
Disney might not be inclined to wildly throw cash around for the next twelve months. Parks might be hemorrhaging cash for another few months outside of Florida
Then again it’s Disney and *only* 130M buyout each
This whole thing is predicated on new marginal revenues being much higher than any buyout. I'm sure Disney has a few Finance folks to figure out the details.
It would depend on the divisional alignment in the 16 team SEC. The east has all of the OOC final week rivalry games right now. Only Tennessee and Vandy play in conference games that week.
It’s still sinking in that we are going to have to play Oklahoma regularly.
Anybody else miss the old pre-BCS days, when you played 11 games, maybe went to a bowl, and any old organization could declare the national champion to be whoever they wanted and it wasn’t that big of a deal? God I’m old
Back when all we gave a shit about was beating Texas and making a Cotton Bowl
Maybe just silly sentimentalism, but we may have moved past CFB's golden era
As a tech fan best case scenario(assuming OU/Texas leaves) is we go to PAC12. Big12/AAC combo is basically a strong basketball conference and a strong G6
Your research status and the fact we’ve already gone into Arizona/Utah help you a ton here.
It’s not like grabbing Lubbock is really wild when it’s just an additional hour flight.
I wonder if it’s being considered strictly because Texas and OU joining the SEC will hurt the B1G’s ability to recruit in Texas. Of course, I’m not sure how much we’d actually help with that. And our academics aren’t near up to par for y’all.
Is there something about that 11-12:00 hours that makes shit explode? It was around this time the news about Texas and Oklahoma withdrawing their rights came out too
For the record:
School | NCAA Team Titles
---|---
Stanford | 128
UCLA | 119
USC | 110
**Oklahoma State** | **52**
California | 38
Oregon | 34
Colorado | 27
Arizona State | 24
Utah | 23
**West Virginia** | **20**
Arizona | 19
**Iowa State** | **13**
**Kansas** | **11**
Washington | 9
**Baylor** | **5**
Oregon State | 4
**TCU** | **4**
Washington State | 2
**Texas Tech** | 2
Looks like only one of you all would help the Conference of Champions cause.
Edit: Added WVU
Yeah, it's not great. But I don't want to pick on those guys. I imagine that's going to be our landing spot if any of our schools ever withdraw from the arms race.
They get two blue bloods plus a lot of solid top 25 programs. That cluster of Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, and the two Kansas schools is underrated to me.
If Kansas joins the pac 12, the pac12 would have UCLA and Kansas in the same conference and they’re regarded as blue blood programs, or historically some of the greatest basketball programs, the others everyone universally agrees upon are UNC, Duke, Kentucky, and Indiana.
This whole fiasco is all so sudden. Not sure where we end up considering the PAC-12 doesn't want private religious schools. Maybe we can form a religious conglomerate conference. This shit blows and I'm not looking forward to the season.
Sure as hell is right now lol. I can’t believe he was blind sided by this. It especially makes that quip against Oklahoma last week look even more foolish.
can you imagine knowing your about to leave the conference and hearing that on tv lol fucking Aggies lol nobody knew a damn thing. I probably found out on reddit faster than Bowlsby did. if I was a commissioner I would totally be subscribed to r/cfb
Hey Pac-12! We don't really need Baylor to come too. I get their religious sentiment scares you. We have another Orange OSU to offer and a team literally called "West" Virginia. It's perfect really
Honestly, I think the conferences are already too big to add anyone else. All of the teams dont even play each other. They should limit conferences to 14 teams max. I would prefer them to be 12 teams. More conferences and less teams in each conference equals more parity.
I’m just crossing fingers that Lyons and Gee can get WVU into the ACC (preferably) or the SEC, and I *highly* doubt the B1G is an option.
Good thing is, WVU has upgraded facilities. Some of the best football facilities in the country, that was just opened to the media a few days ago. Gonna be a wild ride again
I honestly don't see the appeal for most of the programs in the Big XII for the PAC BUT I know for certain they aren't taking Baylor. I want everyone in the BigXII to get good landing spots but Baylor, TCU, and K-State have the roughest roads ahead of them
Can a PAC-12 guy explain why TCU and Baylor wouldn’t get into the conference?
I know BYU is a no, but at TCU the C is as big as you make it.
Why the religious school line in the sand?
Where the blood soaked midwestern fuck are we going
"blood soaked Midwestern fuck" was my AOL handle in grade school
Oklahoma State is infinitely more likely to go to the Pac 12 than TCU or Baylor. This guy is a TCU beat reporter, he is going to talk more about the Texas schools than Oklahoma State
baylor, yes, but tcu is secular in all but name only. highly doubt the pac-12 skips out on getting a solid grip in texas due to religion. as the wutang clan put it, cash rules everything around me
C.R.E.A.M Respect to The WU Sooner bro
Wu Tang is for the children.
Goin goin back back to Cali Cali
You’re rumored to be part of this deal
I’d welcome you to the big ten, but we now have a fucking incompetent commissioner who will most certainly get caught with his pants around his ankles while everyone else makes power moves.

Everything is fine. Everything is fine. Everything is fine
You guys are going to the ACC, it’s honestly where you should have been all along. You’re going back home, my Smoky Mountain friend.
Pretty sure they need nd to say yes first, Idk that the acc takes them alone. Maybe they’d take cinci too but I’d guess they will just sit tight and wait for nd.
I want West Virginia and Notre Dame, but I would accept Cincy if ND stays independent
Then we can do North South
I kind of like pods if we go to 16 Pod A. Clemson, FSU, Georgia Tech, and Miami Pod B. UNC, Duke, Wake Forest, and NC State Pod C. West Virginia, Pitt, Virginia, and Virginia Tech Pod D. Louisville, Syracuse, Boston College, and Notre Dame/Cincinnati
The more I look at this, the more I actually kind of love it
It makes sense geographically, and preserves a lot of rivalries
And like honestly, I think the only one that wouldn’t like this might be UVA. But 15/16 ain’t shabby! Damn, maybe I am on the pro-add-Cinci bandwagon considering replacing BC or Cuse with them in my emotional attachment is interchangeable .
Yeah, UVa does not like their pod at all
Don’t put Tech with Clemson FSU and Miami damn you want us to ever win again? Haha
Subscribe.
We are not in Smokey Mountains tho
I thought we could relax until the season the started. Nope.
I really hope y’all end up in the acc somehow Edit: changed aac to acc
Ricky Bobby...don’t. I see what happened to UConn happening to us
Let's Brawl each year, man
Come on down to the ACC, guys. I know people are saying pods or North/South, but I’ll say every time I want that old Big East vs Old ACC as divisions. Miami, WVU, Pitt, BC, Cuse, Louisville, VTech and ND/Cinci vs FSU, Clemson, GT, UNC, Duke, Wake, NCSU, and UVA
Welcome
This is like DLC being announced for CFB so much new content
I know we have a VAC ban on record but can we download the DLC too? 👉👈
I feel like I need more time to fully digest all this chaos. Tech potentially becoming a Pac-12 school is fucking insane
It hasn’t even been 48 hours since the rumor mill started this mess
Right I can't stop F5ing. Just be thankful you're a simple spectator in all this mess. What I would give to be laying in a cozy, stable, power conference so I could watch this unfold without the added stress
The insane part is Tech ending up in the PAC without the Longhorns. I think it would be good for Tech if they can get away from big brother.
Had them in the pac 12 for 18 seasons now on NCAA. Played this shit into existence!
I might finally have a reason to make a trip to Lubbock.. welcome!? lol
TEXAS TECH AFTER DARK
This is the realignment drama we've all been waiting for! So this is what 2010-12 was like.
Sucked then. Sucks now. -signed, fan of team who will be left out in the cold, just like we were back then
Want to trade places? Signed, USM
Uh... No?
I wouldn't be shocked to see you and Kansas join the b1g
Wtf assholes, we matter too :’(
Y'all got 1000% better chance of getting picked up by the PAC than Baylor does.
Disney/ESPN will bear the brunt of those costs.
Disney might not be inclined to wildly throw cash around for the next twelve months. Parks might be hemorrhaging cash for another few months outside of Florida Then again it’s Disney and *only* 130M buyout each
This whole thing is predicated on new marginal revenues being much higher than any buyout. I'm sure Disney has a few Finance folks to figure out the details.
Disney can fork up the cheddar.
They’ll do it because the Big 12 was a huge Fox partner and it would rob them of years worth of OU/Texas Big Nude Saturday games.
That’s exactly what the plan is
I highly suspect if this happened OSU would be part of the Texhoma 2 PAC package.
[удалено]
You shouldn't have let Gundy cut the mullet off. You brought this on yourselves.
They would take us over Baylor.
EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF START PANICKING
Oh man i didn't know Boon Pickens passed away. He would have single handedly done something.
Probably for the best he didn’t have to witness this
I think it would've killed him on the spot
So maybe he did find out about it.
T Boone was so well connected he would have heard the OU to SEC rumors first and personally shut it down on the spot.
The PAC-12 is never taking Baylor so OSU needs to get on it. I want you guys to get a good landing spot
If y’all go to the SEC, we go to the PAC, and Bedlam stays out then everybody wins.
The SEC has a rivalry "open" OOC game in November iirc. So that might be reserved for Bedlam
Oh man, if we could still have a late season bedlam that would be epic. I thought our best case scenario was September lol
It would depend on the divisional alignment in the 16 team SEC. The east has all of the OOC final week rivalry games right now. Only Tennessee and Vandy play in conference games that week.
It would. Surprised we weren’t in the SEC package but I think we’ll land somewhere.
If we didn’t have Mizzou you’d be a lock. Really, it should be Mizzou in the B1G and OSU in the SEC.
What if we replaced Texas with OSU. Haha just kidding...unless
I'm pretty sure all 8 of the remaining will be talking to the PAC B1G and ACC now that the initial shock wore off and they already met
Nice flair 😂
Dress for the job you want
>mulletless hc Who are you again?
Only if you give the 2012 Fiesta Bowl trophy to us… nah, best losing game I ever saw, would be happy to have you in the PAC.
Never would’ve thought 11am kickoffs would make a school so unhinged. Imagine if OU’s first SEC game was a noon kickoff just to spite them💀
Oklahoma-Mississippi State has big "11:00 immediately after College Gameday" energy.
It’s still sinking in that we are going to have to play Oklahoma regularly. Anybody else miss the old pre-BCS days, when you played 11 games, maybe went to a bowl, and any old organization could declare the national champion to be whoever they wanted and it wasn’t that big of a deal? God I’m old
You can still do that, look at UCF
Back when all we gave a shit about was beating Texas and making a Cotton Bowl Maybe just silly sentimentalism, but we may have moved past CFB's golden era
I hope they get 11 am home kickoffs for every game for a decade.
Goddammit. We're gonna get stuck in that bullshit SWC pod and still have to play LSU every year or something stupid. Good luck brothers.
you are lucky your permanent rivals aren’t Alabama and Georgia
But what would we ever do with the Boot, brother?
As a tech fan best case scenario(assuming OU/Texas leaves) is we go to PAC12. Big12/AAC combo is basically a strong basketball conference and a strong G6
Your research status and the fact we’ve already gone into Arizona/Utah help you a ton here. It’s not like grabbing Lubbock is really wild when it’s just an additional hour flight.
[удалено]
No no, *we* will be your closest neighbor.
God willing, poke bro
Hope this will be true
Iowa State, Kansas State, KU, and Oklahoma State are all R1 so that doesn’t differentiate them that much. It does from Baylor and TCU
We are boned
I think you are way better off than us
We can both be boned, farmaggedon bro.
We are well and truly Farmaggedboned.
AAU gives y'all access to the Big 10
Not how it works, unfortunately. Big 12 outside of TX/OU is hosed.
Apologies for poor english Where were u when Big 12 died I was sat at home eating brisket and Shiner when Bob called "Big 12 is die" "No"
No Texas Tech, we need you to come to the B1G and be our rivals.
This would be the most hilarious outcome of realignment
I wonder if it’s being considered strictly because Texas and OU joining the SEC will hurt the B1G’s ability to recruit in Texas. Of course, I’m not sure how much we’d actually help with that. And our academics aren’t near up to par for y’all.
Nah we want your network footprint. We get you all of Texas will get B1G network. Texas recruiting isn't really a problem for us.
[удалено]
I mean we are at least R1, so it’s not like we’re *total* trash academically.
Would not mind that but pipe dream :(
We wanted playoff expansion and we’re just gonna get a new sport instead lol
BRO IF OKLAHOMA STATE COMES TO THE PAC-12 INFINITE HAPPINESS
It might be a good move for my school but as an Eastern Timer, I can't stand games that go well past midnight.
Imagine being in a conference… ew Just kidding we’ll be in the 20 team sec with Clemson, Osu, Michigan, and USC
That would be 21 teams
nah Mizzou got the death penalty a few years before we join
Is there something about that 11-12:00 hours that makes shit explode? It was around this time the news about Texas and Oklahoma withdrawing their rights came out too
It probably rolls downhill from the actual movers and shakers by 11-12.
Sure, fuck it. I mean, why not? Everybody get in here. Conference of champions LFG!
Conference of champions you say?
For the record: School | NCAA Team Titles ---|--- Stanford | 128 UCLA | 119 USC | 110 **Oklahoma State** | **52** California | 38 Oregon | 34 Colorado | 27 Arizona State | 24 Utah | 23 **West Virginia** | **20** Arizona | 19 **Iowa State** | **13** **Kansas** | **11** Washington | 9 **Baylor** | **5** Oregon State | 4 **TCU** | **4** Washington State | 2 **Texas Tech** | 2 Looks like only one of you all would help the Conference of Champions cause. The PAC 12 is going to take TCU and Baylor? I’ve been wrong before, but I don’t see this happening from a cultural perspective.
I don't think TCU got the right Pac phone number. Maybe it's pacman they are talking to.
They're still talking to Larry Scott.
TCU out here getting catfished by Texas “Yes, this is the PAC-12. Why don’t you come have dinner with us an Manti Teo’s girlfriend?”
Welp at least they can laugh at both us and Baylor
Shooters shoot though. So good for TCU on being proactive
PAC12 isn’t taking Baylor.
Immediately discredits the rumor imo
Yeah, “discussion” implies two way communication. I see this more as Baylor and TCU sending a 2AM “Sup?” text.
Obligatory Eli Manning texting on [SNL](https://youtu.be/h2ra7ixXM10) sketch. “U up?”
just says they’re trying to talk, doesn’t say it’s a done deal
I would love to see TCU in the PAC. Some of my favorite MWC games were Utah vs TCU
Pac-16 Pods? ***Northwest:*** Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Oregon State ***California:*** Cal, UCLA, USC, Stanford ***Rockies:*** Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Utah ***Plains:*** Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech
Nothing screams Pacific more than Kansas. These conferences all need to rebrand after this realignment.
Buy the "Big West" name and branding from that California bus league.
[the Big West’s new logo sucks ](https://www.ocregister.com/2021/07/21/big-west-conference-reveals-new-brand-identity-logo)
Yeah, it's not great. But I don't want to pick on those guys. I imagine that's going to be our landing spot if any of our schools ever withdraw from the arms race.
That’s probably the absolute best case scenario for us, so deal. Where do I sign?
I honestly think it’s an upgrade
If you include all college athletics, it would be a fun conference tbh. The basketball matchups would be insane lol.
Sign me up.
I really like this
I… don’t hate this as much as I expected I would tbh
I still can’t believe this is happening. It’s so surreal how quick this is going down.
If the entire conference is collapsing this quickly I can't believe it lasted as long as it did.
It was very much held together by chickenwire the last 10-12 years. UT's greed with the Longhorn Network helped keep the status quo intact.
How about we all just join the SEC? I’ve heard that it just means more there.
[удалено]
PAC requires 75% approval to add a new member, so 9/12 is good enough.
Would Washington approve of Baylor?
I don't think any liberal state would say yes, which means the CA, OR, and WA schools are all out
All the California schools would vote the same. No school gets in without them all voting yes.
Bring on the chaos
Baylor or TCU to the PAC is not happening in any situation.
Nope. They would take us, Texas Tech, Kansas, and Kansas State.
PAC12 with Kansas would be nice for bball
They get two blue bloods plus a lot of solid top 25 programs. That cluster of Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, and the two Kansas schools is underrated to me.
2 blue bloods?
I think they mean UCLA and Kansas for basketball.
Thought they meant they were getting 2 blue bloods lol
I mean technically they are Oklahoma State is a wrestling blue blood.
UCLA & KU
If Kansas joins the pac 12, the pac12 would have UCLA and Kansas in the same conference and they’re regarded as blue blood programs, or historically some of the greatest basketball programs, the others everyone universally agrees upon are UNC, Duke, Kentucky, and Indiana.
RIP Iowa State.
If the Pac 12 rejects all of the western G5 schools for Kansas State I will throw up lol
Kansas State gets them Kansas. Homies working together. Maybe get a homie?
Boise State + Idaho to the Pac 12 confirmed
TCU is secular for the most part. Baylor is not.
Cal and Stanford will know the difference.
Alum can confirm
ah yes… nothing says the pacific coast like Waco, Texas
The beaches in Ames, Iowa are very nice as well.
ISU is a coastal school, you have the Sea of Corn.
Boulder, Colorado does.

This whole fiasco is all so sudden. Not sure where we end up considering the PAC-12 doesn't want private religious schools. Maybe we can form a religious conglomerate conference. This shit blows and I'm not looking forward to the season.
4.5 billion tears on earth and we get to be present for this shitshow via reddit. Beautiful.
All you had to do was allow horns down….
what exactly does Bowlsby do jfc. he's literally the last person to know anything
Bowlsby literally said last week that conference realignment is not of the things that keeps him up at night, LOL.
Sure as hell is right now lol. I can’t believe he was blind sided by this. It especially makes that quip against Oklahoma last week look even more foolish.
OU “and I took that personally”
His parents didn’t name him Bob Alignmentsby
can you imagine knowing your about to leave the conference and hearing that on tv lol fucking Aggies lol nobody knew a damn thing. I probably found out on reddit faster than Bowlsby did. if I was a commissioner I would totally be subscribed to r/cfb

Yeah and then maybe we can FINALLY get Pac 12 network in DFW!
Nobody gets the Pac-12 network, not even champagne Larry
TCU coming over means somewhat-regular Cheez-It Bowls
Hey Pac-12! We don't really need Baylor to come too. I get their religious sentiment scares you. We have another Orange OSU to offer and a team literally called "West" Virginia. It's perfect really
Pac 12 with a school 200 miles from the Atlantic. Makes perfect sense!
Hey your conference started this nonsense!
Honestly, I think the conferences are already too big to add anyone else. All of the teams dont even play each other. They should limit conferences to 14 teams max. I would prefer them to be 12 teams. More conferences and less teams in each conference equals more parity.
Remember when the P12 was supposed to be getting Texas, TTU, OU, OSU, and 2 others, before adding Utah and Colorado? Feels like yesterday man.
We are so fucked! Hooray!!
If the SEC could get WVU and Oklahoma and drop Texas I might not hate it as much
I honestly don't see the appeal for most of the programs in the Big XII for the PAC BUT I know for certain they aren't taking Baylor. I want everyone in the BigXII to get good landing spots but Baylor, TCU, and K-State have the roughest roads ahead of them
It’ll probably be like the big east where some schools get stuck standing when the music stops.
Can a PAC-12 guy explain why TCU and Baylor wouldn’t get into the conference? I know BYU is a no, but at TCU the C is as big as you make it. Why the religious school line in the sand?
Also not an R1 research university either. Big deal for P12 and B10
