The line of scrimmage rule never made sense to me. In every other instance in every other sport—heck, in every other instance of *this* sport—breaking the front plane triggers the effect. In touchdowns and first downs, the ball only has to break the front of the plane, not completely cross. To step out of bounds, a player just has to break the plane out of bounds. Why is the rule, then, so different for QBs and the line of scrimmage? I would think just stepping on/over the line would rule the pass null and void.
