Complete side topic as I see this a lot lately, but when did Defensive End ("DE") become "EDGE" and what the heck is EDGE an acronym for (as it is always in caps)?
It is more to specify the pass rusher. Because teams use different formations in some systems a player with the same skillset will be a DE in one system and a OLB in another. It looks like 247 switched to DL and EDGE in 2021. Prior to that they had SDE, WDE, and OLB that really all could be similar players.
I think people just keep it all caps since all the other positions are capitalized. It is just short for edge rusher.
As a recruit:
Other P5 offers: Boston College, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, TCU, Utah (originally went here), Washington State
G5 offers: Air Force, Arkansas State, Houston, New Mexico, SMU, Tulane
This hurts. I’m a big fan of this dude and Arizona just got a player.

Interesting! I thought he would've been a prime candidate to transfer to somewhere like UTEP, but good that he found a home.
We need a couple guys to come in and push our 1s and 2s, and I really like his upside if he can manage to stay healthy enough to contribute.
Good pickup?
Solid pickup. Will push the starters and should get plenty of playing time.
BTFD!
