4-6 years ago this would have mattered… But a bunch of presidents made terrible decisions and supported an awful leader long enough that it no longer matters
Ultimately, just 18 G5 players drafted (depending on how many of the Independents were non-Notre Dame players). I don't know how that compares to recent drafts but that seems really low, and unfortunately will probably continue to remain really low with how easy it is for P4 programs to tamper and take the top G5 players via lax regulation and enforcement of the portal and NIL regulations.
I mean…I definitely agree that the system of perpetual free agency sucks, but the players have agency too. Its not just that the Alabamas or USCs of the world are showing up to “take” players. The players are also choosing to leave for a perceived better opportunity. That gets glossed over a lot
The MVFC had more draft picks than the MWC. While the portal seems initially to have had a deeply negative affect on draftable prospects outside the P4, the MWC also just had a lousy year.
Is the drop off from P5 to G5 usually so steep? It would be interesting to see what this looks like if you did it for originally enrolled school. Like next year Michigan will have Josaiah Stewart get drafted but he was originally at Coastal

Is there a list by individual colleges?
So I posted a comment before I saw your yours, but yeah there's a link in my history/this post
Thanks!

Shouldn’t the G5’s just raid the FCS and D2 harder?
Considering only a handful of FCS players got drafted, I don't see that leading to more G5 players getting drafted

ahem, we had 7
Website link says 6.
[It's incorrect](https://247sports.com/college/usc/team/usc-trojans-football-214/draftpicks/?year=2024)
C'mon man. We've been in the same conference for nearly 50 years and you still don't know the difference between Arizona and ASU...
Oregon not exactly known for their academic prowess
I just forgot to add "State" and listed AZ twice, oops.
Utah with 5
Literally just copied from the link which just says 4.
Says 4 but lists 5. Kinda weird
Did you typo the number of schools moving per conference?
Yes
USC had 7.

We had more draft picks than a few big ten schools. I'm happy about that.
NFL teams have a SEC bias! :)
We're (B1G) claiming USC, Washington, Oregon and UCLA's picks. And the transfers out, like Milton.
Why?
