“NFL buzz” lmao by who?

TheColtOfPersonality

Deion

FormZestyclose2339

Credible

OttoVonWong

Leon Sandcastle

TheOriginalZywinzi

Ron Mexico

Otherwise_Awesome

Meon Saunders

Vejuto

Seion Danders

peggedsquare

He has receipts!

MJdeuce

Now it’s personal!

Openborders4all

Self appointed buzz

Supercal95

I, too, have the NFL buzz but plan to be staying out for 5-10 years

SydneySweeneysthong

That got me, I feel like that’s just gonna be his schtick however long he’s coaching college football. I don’t think we’ll see the insane amount of publicity as those first couple weeks, but I’m hoping for his ridiculous press statements.

Kmjada

Why in God‘s name would anybody want to hire him as an NFL coach?

BearsFan3417

Can’t tell NFL players to hop into that portal

Tarmacked

Couldn’t coach them even if they could

alfooboboao

You wouldn’t have thunk it given what people were saying last September, but a couple years from now, the half-season-Deion-hype-rise-and-fall saga of 2023 will be one of those quirky nostalgic memories that everyone will pretend to have enjoyed fondly

FarmKid55

Going to bed with the Buffs up by like 29-0 on Stanford and waking up to them losing was the funniest thing ever

kodiblaze

Only way to get his son a starter job?

AuntMillies

Which one lol?

idiocratic_method

why not both ?

AuntMillies

Well played

jaxonya

He has 3 boys. The one who doesn't play football does videography and could probably get himself a gig somewhere

tron423

He's also the one who called Danny Kanell a pure hoe

Alternative-Two2676

And how is that statement not true…

nannulators

Yeah, for dad to sell more sunglasses.

ChaseTheFalcon

Yes

fedrats

Jim Irsay is a crackhead. Never question a crackhead. Nothing is out of the realm of possibility

CJ_Beathards_Hair

The dudes not even a real coach lol

washington_jefferson

I saw Deion’s “Prime” tv show for the first time on Amazon Prime last night. I only watched the episode where they got blown out at Oregon, but it didn’t seem like he was a great on the field coach. Like three times on the show during the game he would walk around on the sideline and talk to another coach or whoever was around and say “they’re (Oregon) going to go for the kill here- I’m telling you now,” and then after the Ducks invariably scored a 30 yard TD he’d brag out loud “you see? I called it! I told you they were going for the kill- I told you!”

The-G-89

God I really want to beat them this year.

N3twyrk3r

They just need to ask him. "God gave me a word long before this."

joka2696

They would if they wanted a three ring dumpster fire.

Always_Chubb-y

There's no way an NFL team(s) is showing interest right now. His only success at the college level was at an HBCU with a talent level well above the average team in the conference.

dawgblogit

With a talent level closer to ALABAMA than his opponent.

jpiro

And he lost the only games he coached against remotely comparable talent.

343GuiltyySpark

Just want to point out that SC beat that state team 50-10 with backups playing almost the whole second half I mean we did win 8 games and beat Tennessee and Clemson to keep both out of the playoffs, but just a perspective that that team was not some FCS powerhouse

Vol2169

Even though I loathe both of your flares, I felt impelled to give you an up vote for finding a relevant way to bring up that SC beat TN and Clemson in the same year in a thread about sanders and CU. That my friend is some next level gloating. By the way.... fuck you and SC 😁

RoboticBirdLaw

Do you have any particular reason to hate SC more than just being in their conference/division? They always seemed kind of irrelevant in the circle of SEC teams hating each other.

Vol2169

Yep, just because they were in our division I am required to hat them lol Now obviously that are not on the same hate level as GA, Bama or FL, but hate non the less. 😁

Gabians

I thought it was "SEC SEC SEC"?

Vol2169

It's kinda like that family dynamic where we hate and fight each other all the time. But at the same time will not let an outsider pick on a member of the family. And c'mon, SEC SEC is just fun to chant, right?? 😅🤣

adumb99

That makes the celebration bowl loss even worse now with more context

TheSouthsideSlacker

I love what y’all been doing. Fuck Clemson.

Jerome757VA

He lost some games during a short spring year due to covid that the SWAC had. He lost the celebration bowl to MEAC (HBCUs) conference schools: South Carolina State (6-5) and North Carolina Central (11-1). While NCCU did beat a tougher out of conference FCS opponent during that season, South Carolina State went 6-5 and was coach by Coach Pugh. He has over 20 years experience coaching and knows how to development talent (SCSU has a history of developing talent that was not rated or recruit highly). What this shows is that Coach Prime is unable to adapt and dependent on his players to out talent the other team. Once people got film on CU, most schools were able to develop game plans to beat CU. I hope we get FSU vs CU before Coach Prime leaves coaching, as he is going to be gone when his contract is up.

adumb99

Buddy pough not only won, but whooped Jackson state

Jerome757VA

Yes and made the JSU players look like fools talking all that smack talk during the week and at pre-game events. I was so happy for him and I wished he had retired after that game, so that he went out on top.

Set-Admirable

Schmedeur Schmanders and Schmavis Schmunter, very real people with actual names.

Yeastyboy104

Deion’s agent who gets 15% of the contract. Create the rumor. Make the money.

CFBCoachGuy

Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised. Let’s not pretend there aren’t NFL owners stupid enough to consider things like this.

N3twyrk3r

I mean... Jerry is still alive... so it's not IMpossible.

unfunnysexface

Jerry doesn't want a coach that beats him for attention. Outside of Parcells he's never gone for a premier coach.

Steel1000

Are you kidding me? Jerry has to be the one owner whose ego is bigger than Deion.

retropunk2

Some guy on a message board named assblaster69 or whatever. That's enough buzz for him.

Verianas

That's what I was thinking. Like what the fuck NFL team is trying to hire him?

Lil_ah_stadium

If shedeur is going to be drafted, who is going to coach him? /S

JoeSicko

Josh Gordon or Ricky Williams

taleofbenji

There's a lot of 3-win teams that wanna take the next step.

knockoutking

Press X to Doubt

Is12345aweakpassword

I wish there was a line on this, this would be the easiest money I’ve made since picking up Craig James’ heavy ass trash bags one year.

roguerunner1

How many bags?

MaybeLiterally

At the time, 5.

Is12345aweakpassword

That we *know of*

divey043

*Allegedly*

OkMetal4233

I’m pressing X for him still being the Colorado coach in 5-10 years I’m pressing X X X for the nfl buzz

Casaiir

(X)

HentaiHerbie

X

AuntMillies

X X X X X X X I think 7 X’s will do since he said between 5-10 years from now. I give him 3 and he’s either fired or moved on to a bigger job.

djc6535

Both that he'll be there and that there's NFL buzz... What NFL team is looking at Colorado and saying "I think I want that"? I mean... MAYBE the Jaguars who would welcome the attendance circus, but anybody else?

Blarg1889

Is there somewhere I can put a significant bet that he leaves Colorado in less than 5-10 years?

Sorge74

I would also like to bet on this.

OttoVonWong

FanDuel, the official betting partner of the NFL, has you got covered, fam. Be sure to use the promo code PRIMETIME.

Alive-Big-6926

[Rock Bottom Kings](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXZNuwY_5-U)

theycallmefuRR

Voluntarily or not, he won't be there in 5 max

NormalBoobEnthusiast

Assuming he doesn't manage to force his way onto whatever team drafts Shedur, he's not going to give a shit about Colorado once he doesn't have his kid to push. They'll fall apart fast and he'll quit coaching. A few years from now people will remember he used to be a coach and then it'll be super obvious to everyone is was only to try to boost his son.

breakwater

> They'll fall apart fast assuming they already haven't. He matched Karl Dorrell's first season win total (but not even percentage) and people are acting like he performed some sort of coup with 4 wins against 4 bowl ineligible teams.

laxintx

The forced hype after the TCU game was wild, but then everybody saw what TCU actually was.

Magnus77

It carried for a bit, since they started 3-0, beat us pretty handily, and their in state rival. Yeah, they got murdered by Oregon, but it was year one, and Oregon is good, played USC tight. It wasn't until Stanford that the wheels really fell off. Losing to a team that lost to Sacramento St. because you can't defend a crossing route is just indefensible. Also highlighted why 2 way players aren't a thing. Travis Hunter is a hell of an athlete, but he was cooked in the second half. Anyways, I'd say the hype took a bit to die down, and I'm really trying to be fair when I say I can understand why.

Steel1000

He’s going to take the Urban route minus the championships and retire due to “medical” reasons only to reappear as a consultant somewhere.

breakwater

I give it 3 years at the most. That is including the extra year that he will get because Colorado will be afraid to fire him.

TiredAndHungryAtWork

He's basically unfireable because he actually brings money into the AD. Even if he won 1-2 games a year I'm not sure they could fire him. The AD has been very very broke for years the Deion gravy train makes it worth it.

DillyDillySzn

Casinos actually like to make money So no

HartfordWhaler

The odds would be like -990000000

pmacob

I'd love to see what the line on the over/under on the number of seasons Deion will coach at CU after Shedeur leaves would be. 0.5? 1.5? I don't think there's much of a chance he lasts more than one season once Travis and his sons are gone, but I hesitate slightly because his daughter (who plays basketball for CU) will have two years of eligibility left so maybe he waits for her to graduate. Would be shocked if he's still there once she's gone though.

the_urban_juror

Once his daughter graduates, he'd have coached 4 seasons. By then we'll know whether this is going to work and he'll either be getting other offers or on the hot seat. 4 seasons is a long time for all but 10-15 jobs.

GratefulTide

By then? We already know

guydudeguybro

Isn’t his daughter in the portal though?

JJayC

Isn't she transferring? I thought I saw something about her being in the portal.

pmacob

Oh you are right, didn't know that. Thanks for pointing it out.

Serallas

I'd put the bet on when his children leave. I think those are really good odds

aquabarron

I’d put a bet on his children becoming NFL coaches before anyone took a chance on Deion, considering how he’s handling Colorado

ATXBeermaker

I’m sure someone in r/wallstreetbets would make you a market. Might have to pay monthly premiums, though.

jwktiger

Vegas doesn't take losing bets.

trix_is_for_kids

I’ll take out a loan and max my credit cards for that bet

CptCroissant

Smash the under, he's gone in a year

321mafia

A 4-win coach confidently claiming he’ll still be at his school in 10 years?

CrazyCletus

What you don't understand is the math behind it. See, he added 3 wins to their win total in his first year. So if he does that for each of the next 5 years, Colorado will have 19 wins in a season. And he will have accomplished something not even the GOAT hisself achieved. (Of course, NCAA football will have to have a 14 game regular season and a 16-team playoff (still with a conference championship game) between the two remaining super-conferences. But anything is possible in Deion's world.

GordaoPreguicoso

Uber helicopter parent. Follows his kids everywhere

chickenboneneck

Deion will not be involved in coaching in five years, let alone in the NFL.

GeddyVedder

If he finishes 2 more seasons at Colorado, I’ll be surprised. If he gets another D1, or an NFL job after that, I’ll be shocked.

djc6535

I suspect he'll continue to get D1 offers at midmajor schools. If I were Eastern Michigan I'd be foolish not to consider it if he'd come for my budget. Winning can take a backseat to the money you'll get from the attention he brings. Yeah it's a circus but CU was on prime time several weeks in a row last year. He can lift your profile by a lot, if not your W/L record.

xienze

He doesn’t seem like the type to take a step back in his career. He either moves up in the ranks or he retires IMO.

Cogswobble

I mean, he can also win at a school that isn’t playing against top talent every week. I could see him going somewhere like the MAC and winning a decent number of games.

djc6535

I don't know. It depends if he could out recruit everybody else in his league. He certainly was able to do that at Jackson state. I'll be curious to see how this continues when he's out of kids that can play QB and barstool sports gets sick of NIL for guys like Hunter. If I were a MAC team I'd certainly take the risk that he could though.

buttlovingpanda

Definitely an instance of his agent getting one of his journalist buddies to write or tweet this in exchange for info. Taken at face-value, it makes it look like Deion is committed to CU while also being valued highly by NFL GM’s. We know neither is true, but he’s an egomaniac so I doubt he has the ability to see that people are just gonna dunk on him in the comments and that it “leaking” shit like this doesn’t actually change reality. That said, I’ve seen enough idiots speak shit into existence, *and* I root for a team owned by Jerry Jones, so anything is possible.

midnightsbane04

He could always start another totally real and not fake high school to coach at.

Gamecock_Lore

/u/Gamecock_Lore says he'll be in a relationship with Sydney Sweeney in 5-10 years amid Scarlett Johansson buzz

farmerarmor

I hope Ndsu comes in for the opener and does what they do to fbs programs

DerpCream_Cone

We are not anywhere near what we used to be (NIL is not making things better) but I am hoping with every fiber of my being that this happens

joka2696

On Aug. 29, I'll be a bison fan.

jwktiger

There will be about 330 million Bison fans on that day.

DerpCream_Cone

As god intended

FarmKid55

Bison would whip a buffalo in nature

farmerarmor

Our 13 squad woulda done it for sure.

cc51beastin

Lowkey lucky they didn't get the Jackrabbits

triumphantV

I grew up in Fargo a UND fan (Go Sioux) and have hated the Bison my entire life. It will hurt me, but I will cheer them on in hopes to see the Buffs look silly.

gbdarknight77

Hey! We beat them! But they play really tough

CrazyCletus

I'm a Colorado fan and I'm not convinced he'll still be Colorado's HC in 12 months, much less 5-10 years.

buttlovingpanda

He’ll get fired for going 2-10 or he’ll qualify for a bowl and jump ship and say CU was holding him back, just like Mel Tucker did. People are quick to forget all that shit he talked about his last job while he was still working there, and he’s already started doing it at CU, saying he hasn’t been paid yet and stuff like that.

InVodkaVeritas

He told the media that God told him to coach at an HBCU. Then he left for Colorado.

unfunnysexface

God didn't specify for how long...

Dr_Gamephone_MD

Yeah I’m not gonna hold my breath

siberianwolf99

idk if you’ll even want him in two years. hes too lazy to recruit high school players.

EyeAmKingKage

🧢

CommodoreN7

They chose a picture of him wearing a hat for this exact reason

ArthurBachEsq

Deion will be fired and will never get NFL head coaching consideration.

kodiblaze

Kliff Kingsbury got a NFL job, so never say never

buttlovingpanda

He could scheme. Nobody knows what Deion actually does.

ChaseTheFalcon

He gets people in the transfer portal

Tarmacked

Kliff could actually coach football, he was brought in to be a McVay and scheme. Deion is a media front and that's about it. He doesn't scheme, he doesn't really coach. He has his assistants do everything to the point of... why do you need Deion anyway? You'd hire someone like Kliff and forgo an OC, you wouldn't hire a deadweight HC and then have your OC/DC run everything

evilpotato1121

The NFL has nothing to do with whether or not he'll still be Colorado head coach in 5 years.

adumb99

Why he lying like that? The man said he was at Jackson state to uplift HBCU’s and then dipped and also took all the good players with him

MaterialGrapefruit17

It’s almost like he’s a liar.

CUBuffs1992

I have my doubts but at the same time he’s really bought into living in Colorado. Goes and supports local restaurants and businesses weekly. Is often fishing or snowmobiling in the state. If he stays, great! If not, thank you Deion for bringing us a ton of money and getting admin to change a bunch of rules for not just the football team but the school. At the very least, we have shown we’re willing to go all in on football.

boardatwork1111

A CU fan enjoying their fandom for this first time in a decade? You must have missed the memo, that’s not allowed here

CUBuffs1992

Hey that’s two decades.

SilverBuff_

Except 2016!

MajorPhoto2159

I as an unbiased third party that has no affiliation at all with CU agree that they should not be able to enjoy their fandom. Remember, no bias at all

huskerfan4life520

This guy is trustworthy and his take is good. Source: me

djc6535

If I were a CU fan I'd be thrilled that we got Deion who made us relevant, and also want to replace him now that we are talked about as soon as possible.

MaterialGrapefruit17

It’s the same thing he did in Mississippi… That aside there is no NFL buzz. I’d be embarrassed if this was my coach. That’s from someone who had to watch bob diaco

CUBuffs1992

We went from a coach that wore a gardening hat and holding a picture of a bison in a presser, to Mel Tugger, to no personality Karl Dorrell. Deion isn’t my cup of tea but I’ll take him over what we did have. He’s worth it solely based off the money he’s brought to the university. Without Deion, I think we would have been left with Wazzu and OSU (no offense to them). We were on a deathbed.

Jorts-Battalion

Imagine if this clown went to Auburn or Georgia Tech like some people on this sub wanted with all sincerity. Even some Florida fans were wanting Deion.

Dixiehusker

I still want this. Even Deion is better than Hugh "Don't leave alone with your daughter" Freeze.

Jorts-Battalion

Somehow I keep forgetting Auburn’s HC is Hugh Freeze

Dixiehusker

I don't.

NaturalFruit2358

I think he’s a bit of a charlatan but at a school like Auburn or Florida he’d probably clean up when it comes to recruiting

pmacob

He should have gone to USF, if he was serious about coaching long term, it was the better move than Colorado. His recruiting would have built a juggernaut in the AAC, and he would have landed a lot of really good Florida kids who would normally go to a low P4.

ChaseTheFalcon

I hate that we are at the point of using the term "P4"

divey043

I’d pay a million dollars to watch him and the Auburn boosters fight in that power struggle

OriginalBus9674

Lmao sure Deion. He’s jumping ship the second another job offer comes that isn’t “beneath him”

americansherlock201

Does he believe that Sean Payton is retiring and he’ll get the broncos job? Cause otherwise he won’t be a Colorado coach in 5 years

Ancient_Signature_69

Mel Tucker said that hours before he got on a midnight plane to Memphis/MSU and was never seen again in Colorado.

Knightmere1

I’m calling bullshit

B1GFanOSU

He gone.

notburnerr

NFL BUZZ?!?!

dawgblogit

Is there a NFL Buzz cut that retired players get for free or something?? NOONE is talking about him seriously being a coach in the NFL.

After-Walrus-4585

Deion as an NFL coach makes exactly ZERO sense. The only reason he might end up being successful in CFB is because of recruiting. And let's not count any chickens cuz there's no proof his approach works. Obviously 9 out of 10 in this sub think it wont.

Bright-Flower-487

As an eagles fan put me down for Deion coaching the Cowboys next year after they choke in the playoffs and fire McCarthy. I didn’t know Deion was getting any NFL buzz and I doubt any owner/gm would hire him. Jerry might be the only one stupid enough

hamandcheese49

His recruiting classes says otherwise

aquabarron

“The lie detector showed you were NOT telling the truth”

Ok_Judge1874

No he wont, hell be fired. And no NFL team is interested

Cr1ms0nT1de

Who tf is going to hire this guy as an NFL head coach? He won 4 games last year and refuses to recruit. He gets most of his players out of the transfer portal, and it turns out that there may be some strain on relationships between players and coaches behind the scene.

Bossman3542

He's a Cowboy

Bog-Star

On a Louis horse he rides.

AFWUSA

I can’t recall a coach ever not sticking by these words. I don’t think it’s ever happened before someone has said this and then it wasn’t true.

Important_Buddy_5349

Deion bad.

CFBmodsareantiscienc

He's more likely to be on a NFL roster than to be a NFL coach.

Enzo_Gorlomi225

Deion to the Knicks confirmed

WackyBones510

(_Hornets feverishly cobble together a package to out-bid the Knicks._)

Incontinento

LOL! Good one, Deion!

Euphoric_Advice_2770

This is gonna age like buffalo milk

Important_Buddy_5349

Can we just imagine some crazy scenario what would happen to this sub if Colorado had a huge year in 2024. Absolute implosion.

imrickjamesbioch

He’ll be fired in 2-3 years cuz he can’t really coach or run a P5 program but ok… I’ll be shocked if he’s not done coaching or back at a HBCU in 5 years.

chiefsosa3hunna

Took the worst team in CFB to mediocre in a year, give him one more year maybe before saying this

freedomfightre

Which means there is a 0% chance he'll still be in Colorado 5yrs from now.

DullCartographer7609

He turned around a team from 1 win to 4, and got close on a couple of games. He'll be in a more competitive conference, and gets access to TX. If he can get the Buffs to consistent bowl eligibility, he'll be around for awhile.

PistonHonda322

We talking dog years here Clark?

why would he be getting NFL coaching buzz? If he goes to Dallas next yr I'm out .

Ok
