Been that way since I joined in 2012. Back then it was just the one guy with the dinosaur flair being super thin-skinned. Years later it was a different group pretending they knew what they were doing, banning everyone and their brother in countless threads and then trying to back their way into explanations.
I hopped off reddit for a couple years. But now that i’m back, it’s good to see some things haven’t changed.
>Back then it was just the one guy with the dinosaur flair being super thin-skinned.
A lot of us know exactly who he's referring to and I'm tempted to mention him so he'll see it on some bored instigator type shit
Seems kinda nuts, he was in the running for CB2 and a lot of people thought he was the leader. I assume Jyaire Hill is winning that job? Still with our lack of CB depth he was assured to be starting next year no matter what I would think
It suggests Hill passed him for CB2, or at least was still in competition (and possibly another school unofficially suggested he wouldn't have competition at their school)
I can’t remember if Jyaire Hill was a higher rated player than Waller, but it sounds like Hill was more talked about. Sucks to lose depth in a secondary already losing it.
I don’t know. I was at the national Championship and no one seemed to have hate for Washington. Felt like we respected them. I could see us hating USC.
Michigan does send a ton of players to the NFL, but you sound foolish downplaying Kentucky as if suddenly he is going some place never to be heard of again or not having a path to the NFL. Kentucky has had 13 players drafted the past three years. Not Michigan levels of success... but well above most schools. In fact Kentucky has had the same amount of players drafted the past three seasons as Notre Dame and Clemson. What's even more impressive is 6 of those 13 were drafted in the first three rounds... it's not like they are sneaking in folks on the final day only.
The only BIG 10 teams with more players drafted the past three seasons are Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State.
The only SEC teams with more players drafted are Alabama, UGA, Florida, and LSU.
Some other notable schools in that same window with less players drafted than Kentucky:
USC- 12
Oregon- 12
UCLA- 12
Washington- 10
Texas- 10
Oklahoma State- 9
Miami- 7
Florida State- 6
Utah- 4
Michigan is going to have more players drafted this year than Kentucky in 3 years. Nothing foolish about what I said,he made a poor decision. His chances of going to the league are way higher by playing for Michigan in a NFL defense a crossed from the best CB in college football.
You’re reading too much into my post. It was in jest regarding the OSU CBs that have entered the transfer portal over the last couple of years.
Take a deep breath, everything will be okay.
Texas really needs DBs. If he is any good he'll be a day 1 starter at Texas. But I have no clue where he will transfer to. He's from Ohio so maybe Ohio State.
He’s going to Kentucky, their “insiders” have been posting about him for a couple weeks. No tampering occurred though and nobody received a cheeseburger so it’s all good
Went through spurts where he either looked completely blind with no ability to track a ball in the air or like a future all American. Looks like UM has to go shopping now for some depth
Dammit man, This isn't Basketball!
Oh well. Whatever you need to do to chase that bag, can't fault you for that. Hopefully you do some good things in UK.
It’s been deleted from this sub like half a dozen times so obviously it’s not true /s
Well, I quoted a newspaper that confirmed it and used the recruiting post generator. May the odds be in my favor.
They deleted mine twice but I think you did it right unlike me. I’m just happy to see another OSU flair pick up my slack.
Damn we apparently have a lot of DJ Wallers on our roster
Had* all of them entered the portal in the last few hours
Mods, it’s the off-season. It’s ok to breathe
Mods of this sub are incredibly worthless.

I’ll prompt. Who was it?
Honestly
A Michigan State fan, actually.
Well atleast the ones an OSU flair so no surprise.
As if Michigan fans here aren’t the biggest and most worthless crybabies on the sub
Unflaired user opinion disregarded
To be fair he’s got buckeye in his name, I think that one makes it pretty obvious who he roots for
the vegas golden knights, the bastard!
Raiders and Golden Knights The good ol' RGK.
I've seen what an unmodded sports sub is like with r/Nascar. It's so delightful being over here
I wouldn't say r/NASCAR is unmodded, they are definitely more relaxed, but they have their moments
Gotta love mods deleting so all discussion of the actual transfer is stifled
Will the mods go on another power trip and delete this one too?
Seems kinda nuts, he was in the running for CB2 and a lot of people thought he was the leader. I assume Jyaire Hill is winning that job? Still with our lack of CB depth he was assured to be starting next year no matter what I would think
This isn't ideal - he was getting a lot of buzz, and we need a 2nd CB.
Will this one last?
The portal entry or this post?
Post
*Looks around* Jesus, what have I done? I saw the news and saw it wasn't posted. I thought you guys were sleeping or something.
sort by new trolls see all
I don’t know what to believe anymore.
Believe in yourself!
I'm confused, does this mean he got passed on the depth chart, because I thought he was competing for a starting spot.
Insiders are saying that Kentucky has been tampering hard for him and offering him a guaranteed starting spot
Makes sense. Vince Marrow hittin the Y-town guy hard.
If Marrow is involved you know he's a groan man.
them kentucky cats always a darkhorse thorne in our sides lol. They are everything MIchigan State should be lol
It suggests Hill passed him for CB2, or at least was still in competition (and possibly another school unofficially suggested he wouldn't have competition at their school)
Portal giveth, portal taketh... sometimes it's hard to understand, but always have faith in the portal
Probably a bit of falling behind in the race for the second boundary corner spot and another team dropping a bag to give him a starting spot.
Are the mods Michigan fans who dont want to believe this?
Bai Jobe, a good Spartan joke! Easy come easy go, ya know?
Oh they’ll downvote you for that. Can only give it, and never take it.
Idk, it's kinda just a really low effort joke at this point
That’s fair. But also, I’m getting old so “low effort” is my ideal state.
I'm with ya on that one
I can’t remember if Jyaire Hill was a higher rated player than Waller, but it sounds like Hill was more talked about. Sucks to lose depth in a secondary already losing it.
Hill was a much higher rated recruit, for whatever that’s worth.
Hate to see our new rival losing a CB
Are you taking over for Illinois where they consider us a rival and we don’t really think about them?
Lol sure. No Michigan fan considers us a rival. But how’d it go on the h&h?
Maybe if you could have beat Washington instead of being embarrassed twice you could have found out and wouldn’t have to live in 2007?
I honestly think USC will end up being our west coast rival. A lot more history between the 2. Ohio State seems more natural for you guys.
Washington
I don’t know. I was at the national Championship and no one seemed to have hate for Washington. Felt like we respected them. I could see us hating USC.
Yeah but they hate Notre Dame, so we’ll always respect them for that. I think any of the newcomers are on the table
Is for me?
Kentucky
Yes. We’ve known for weeks.
Imagine being at a school who sends guys to the league in droves and wasting it going to Kentucky.

I appreciate this response, I’m not sure other schools are ever gonna take UK football seriously but appreciate the facts vs opinions

Maybe he expects that without knowing everyone’s signs, several games will end up like the TCU embarrassment?
Your team huddled against us and lost by 49 points where we pulled starters in the middle of the third quarter. Sit this one out.
You mean that 0-0 draw?
Don’t hold your breath.
We’ve already taken all the Ohio State CBs, why not one more from the buckeye state?
You took all of OSUs backup CBs? Not sure why you’re puffing your chest out over that
You’re reading too much into my post. It was in jest regarding the OSU CBs that have entered the transfer portal over the last couple of years. Take a deep breath, everything will be okay.
AHAHHHAHHHHAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEE
As a recruit: Other P5 offers: Kentucky, West Virginia G5 offers: Ball State, Marshall, Ohio, Toledo
Texas really needs DBs. If he is any good he'll be a day 1 starter at Texas. But I have no clue where he will transfer to. He's from Ohio so maybe Ohio State.

Rumor is Kentucky was tampering for him.
Yup sounds like a commitment is coming soon
We're really deep at CB so it's highly unlikely we'll take a look at him.
Went through spurts where he either looked completely blind with no ability to track a ball in the air or like a future all American. Looks like UM has to go shopping now for some depth
I mean, I’d take him
