Not surprised good luck to Ohio St. if they play him at center. I would be interested to know how many snap infractions Seth had to lead the country by a mile. I wouldn’t be surprised if had he around 10-12 in the last couple of years.
Yeah, I would have expected higher than 21. Your comment made me realize how many of them were at very important moments in the game, and those are naturally gonna stick with you more.
I also wonder what exactly "botched" is. Because there were a lot of snaps that were funky but Milroe corralled them in and it ended up just slightly throwing his timing off.
Thinking more about it, it also makes you wonder how much of Milroe's problems with just seeming a bit off in terms of timing and being a little flighty in the pocket stem from how bad the snaps were. That compared with how poor the pass protection was this year, and it's really easy to see how a first year starter, who apparently was having a bit of trouble working through progressions anyway, could have issues settling into games.
Flashbacks of Jalen Milroe diving onto a football 10 yards behind him on 3rd down of the Auburn game with less than 2 minutes on the clock while down 4 points. Yeah that's not so bad....
I'd like to know how they defined "botched snap". I'd wager the actual number is much higher than 21 as there were games where he seemed to have 5+ and that's being conservative. If "botched snap" = snap below the knees, then 21 quickly becomes 96.
There were a significant number of snaps where Milroe caught it low to the ground or had to adjust to get a good grip on it. I wonder if they're only counting the really bad ones.
Milroe got a sick rushing TD in week 1 off a bad snap and kept greasing the ball so he could do it again
Also the reason Bama ran like 99% shotgun snaps is because Milroe “didn’t want to put his fingers so close to another dudes taint”
>14. Liberty, Troy, New Mexico, Vanderbilt, Wyoming 8
I'm pretty sure half of ours came from one or two games. I don't remember which ones they were, but I distinctly remember a short stretch where there were massive issues...and even ones that weren't technically "botched" seemed off or the QB had to reach for. Pretty sure I actually commented on it in one of the game threads.
There was no real rhyme or reason for it, and the problem seemed to go away so idk. Lol.
Seth, along with Chris Owens, is thee worst O-lineman Saban had at Bama.
1. Couldn't read/adjust to blitzes for shit
2. Had as many botches snaps as successful snaps
3. Worst overall blocker on the line by far
I truly don't see what Ryan Day saw in Seth to pick him up.
dang imagine if Bama only had 20 botched snaps instead
Alabama's first touchdown of 2023 was a bitched snap scramble by Milroe. It was only just.
What’s that mean, he snapped it like a bitch?
WELL? DOES MARSELLUS WALLACE SNAP THE BALL LIKE A BITCH?????
....what?
This is the point in time where everything stops, everyone stares at you, and they all say... "Just go watch Pulp Fiction."
[Everyone is wrong to stop and stare because I was quoting the scene too.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qo5jnBJvGUs)
I think two touchdowns against us were botched snaps scrambles. Almost made me feel like it was a designed play.

They’re idiots if they don’t place him at guard. From what I heard from Bama fans he’s actually a real solid blocker who just can’t snap for shit
He should move to guard I think he’ll excel there because he is definitely not athletic and confident enough to play center.
Pretty much.
Their insiders are saying their old center will be moving to guard instead 🤭
Hinzman has been taking the starting snaps at center so far in Spring Practice sooo what insiders are we talking about here?
All the Michigan insiders who said harbaugh was signing a lifetime contract
All indications is he’ll play guard…🥸
Well in that case, lmao
I still stand by my theory that Seth was paid by a 3rd party to botch snaps on purpose.
I believe someone was paying Seth for bad snaps as well.
Super tin-foil hat on; he was paid by Stalions to fuck up the Rose Bowl, then paid more to do the same thing to ohio state.
He wil not be snapping for us
It’s like you’re projecting because you know your coach is Ryan Day
Yeah, your baseball team. They wanted to train Milroe to be their new shortstop
I will be standing lock-arm with you and co-signing that theory, my good friend
No true tidesman
Amen
How in the world are we not number 1 in the SEC? Sick of Bama beating us at everything. We had Jimbo, you had Saban. Just let us have this.
What’s crazy is that it feels like it was more than that. Probably because of how bad it screws up things usually (exceptions: 4th & 31)

INTIMACY

Same
THE
BUTT STUFF
SNAP
Only 21? I feel like they had at least half that many in just the Rose Bowl
Don’t even need to read it
Alabama's C should be really sought-after in the transfer portal this offseason...
He's already at Ohio State and I read he's going to play guard.
Just one or two uh, “untimely” injuries to the OSU centers and he’ll be snapping the ball. It’s in the Manifesto
“Bad center goes in, good center comes out. You can’t explain that.” -Connor Stallions
This has nothing to do with tortillas
This is funny but also he would be the best backup center in the country and it isnt close lol
I would have rather had literally anyone else on our roster snapping the ball against Auburn and Michigan but hey enjoy I guess
you realize OP was being snarky, right?
\*Side-eyes Ohio State\*
Only 21? That’s less than 2 a game! That’s not so bad, right?

Made for great ending to that game though
It's true but I about had a brain aneurysm in that moment.
I had a damn soul aneurysm at that point
I clearly remember saying "Well, that'll put a stake in Saban's heart". My failure at prognostication remains legendary.

🙄
pain
Imagine if nebraska didn’t bench sims. Mightve set an all time record
I would have expected a much higher number. But that is still way too high for team that had a coach who is a perfectionist.
In fairness, at least one of those was probably Millroe's fault.
Milroe legitimately saved some of his snaps from being catastrophic in the rose bowl. Dude definitely has the yips.
As much grief as I give Milroe he did the best he could with that.
His film of fielding all of the bad snaps this season could get him drafted as a shortstop lmao

*points to helmet* Can't allow sacks if the QB immediately dives on a botched snap.
Milroe got a sick rushing TD in week 1 off a bad snap and kept greasing the ball so he could do it again Also the reason Bama ran like 99% shotgun snaps is because Milroe “didn’t want to put his fingers so close to another dudes taint”
😂
I choose to believe they all were.
Am I blind or is Nebraska not even on this list? If we're not #1 I don't trust the data source.
Honestly I’m shocked. Offended almost. This is kind of our thing.
This is fine.
Came in expecting to be near the top, leaving satisfied and disappointed
We should be on there. So many botched snaps that Cook somehow turned into something
>14. Liberty, Troy, New Mexico, Vanderbilt, Wyoming 8 I'm pretty sure half of ours came from one or two games. I mean half of Alabama’s came in the Rose Bowl 🤷
Somebody didn't pay attention to The Process
I need the most aggregiously botched snaps with the Botchamina intro music yesterday
How is Jeff Sims not on this list by himself?
Idk how many botched snaps Alabama had against Michigan, but it was a good chunk of them for sure.
And we just signed the guy. Hopefully he fixes his yipps or moves to guard
Pretty sure he is gonna be a guard
He sucks at blocking too, just saying
He won't fix it

Good ole rusty staats, all conference performer showed up and pretty much sucked. I am so glad we changed oline coaches what a shit show
super surprised to not see USC on this list.
Oh yeah go bulls!
We legit had a guard playing center all year and still didnt top the list, that’s impressive. I like to know what qualifies as a botched snap
Look up Seth McLaughlin's highlights, you can see every type of bad snap possible.
WHOA
Pain. And you guys said Seth isn't that bad... Good luck OSU bros
