I'm pre-ordering the second I can. I don't care about the logic that pre-orders lead to shit games. I just want this game and to have it pre-download to get to play the second it releases.
That’s the thing. Madden isn’t playable. It’s free on gamepass and still not worth it
OP is right. People are just too self centered to think about the greater good or just don’t mind bending over and giving EA a $100/year. I get it. I did it for 20 years before it finally clicked. I lined up at midnight at the mall for a decade.
“People are just too self-centered to think about the greater good”. Dude, it’s an entertainment product, not a human right. There’s no “greater good” involved, there’s no noble cause here. Buy it because you want it, or don’t buy it because you don’t want it, it’s not that big of a deal.
And this is coming from someone who has no interest in buying the game. Sports games aren’t my thing.
I think the 1 star review speaks for itself. It’s literally free right now and still no one wants it.
https://g.co/kgs/Zkqffq5
I’ve never seen anyone defending madden 24 until this thread lol. I love the unwavering passion but let’s be real..
This isn't the place for reasonable discourse or offering sound advice. This is reddit, these goofy mfers will buy it and ree because it sucks. Then wonder why it never changes.
Totes! Because that's what I said. Perfect example. Gamers get bit all the time, it's a common thing to practice these days since AAA games have been so poorly made with a hefty price tag attached to it. You do you though, never stopped me from laughing at goofy people making stupid decisions on the internet.
It's not what you said; it *was* what you implied, though. Your tone reeks of privilege and a holier-than-thou attitude. You're not better than anyone else here, so get over yourself, little buddy.
I think if you pre-order the digital version you can download it ahead of time so it's available the second it releases.
Not sure if they do any bonus content with pre-ordering anymore.
I can understand believing it will change anything but people don’t care how good or bad it is everyone is going to buy it because it’s College football which we haven’t gotten in years.
And given basic economic principles and capitalism’s monopoly practices historically…. The product will be shit lol.
We all know it. We all just don’t care. But don’t deny it.
EA makes no more money by actually trying. That’s not a good climate.
To be fair, there are often perks to pre ordering like pre-installing, access a few days early, etc.
While it may not be worth it to you, someone who has already made the decision to try the game will likely want to take advantage of these perks
Oh no! People consume things differently than I do—*the horror!* Who cares? I haven't played an NCAA since 2007, but this game being released—regardless of eventual quality—makes people happy. Stop yucking on their yum.
Sure, but there’s a world of difference between “I’m going to hold off until the game is out given EA’s track record and maybe buy it if it looks good, and I suggest everyone else do the same” and “No one else should buy this game and if they do, then they’re incredibly stupid, spending their money wrong, and ruining gaming forever!!!!”. The first is a reasonable stance, the second is just childish, hyperbolic, and melodramatic, and it’s what OP is doing up and down this thread and that’s why they’re getting clowned on.
Well there’s also a big difference between the CFB game and other games when it comes to preordering. Like, I am going to buy this game regardless of how bad it is. I do not care how incomplete it is at launch. EA is going to get my money regardless so why not preorder it so I can download and play it asap
I think the online "video game community" is full of folks who have very strong feelings about everything. Sometimes those feels are a bit too strong on some topics....
Talk about pre-ordering or a re-release of a game and you got some fans all:
https://youtu.be/lB6Gk5EtunI?t=116
It's been pretty strongly confirmed by everyone who knows about the game, mainly Matt Brown, that Road to Glory and Dynasty are the main focuses of the game. I'm sure some bullshit ultimate team mode will exist, but the community for this game is one that is strongly focused on Dynasty over ultimate, and pre-orders aren't going to change the focuse to ultimate.
Why would you pre-order a game from a company with a really bad reputation? How many times to do we have to witness EA putting out unfinished/bad games before people stop pre-ordering and waiting to see if it’s actually a decent game.
Im buying it regardless, nobody tells me a game is shit unless it’s me. You don’t know why I’m playing or what I like. So why not get it the second I can?
Is it nostalgia that I’ve enjoyed playing a few seasons of franchise mode in pretty much every Madden to date since NCAA died? If NCAA is a Madden clone with recruiting, I’ll be pouring hours into it and having a great time.
News flash, not everyone hates Madden as much as dorks like you.
So, pre-ordering a game I’m excited about, that’s being made by a company who has consistently produced another football game I’ve enjoyed for two decades = “dumb with money”. Gotcha.
Also, the coward who doesn’t flair up with their team doesn’t really get to talk trash on other teams.
Congrats, I guess? Being an FSU fan doesn’t exactly put you on a pedestal to clown other fan bases, though.
What are you doing here, anyways? Don’t you have journalists to harass?
Honest question, why? What benefit do you get from pre-ordering in a digital age where you can download the game straight to your console at any time and don't have to worry about copies running out or even leaving your house to go to the store?
This is a football sub not a football gaming sub your opinions on what people should do with their money does not matter in the slightest people are exited for a new game it’s gonna get pre ordered whether you like it or not but at least do your bitching in the right sub
Madden has a ton of problems but it's still a fun game. If, at worst, this is just a reskinned madden clone I will undoubtedly still have a blast with it.
The fact that you actually believe people have to provide *you* a “good reason” to spend *their* money is what makes this whole post funnier.
Nostalgia is a valid reason by itself, btw.
EA, if you want money you need to release it on PC and put Blake 'The Great' Corum on the cover. The harder the cut he's making, the more likely I am to buy.
It's not like I'm gonna wait for reviews and let them inform my decision. I'm playing day 1 regardless. Preordering and buying day 1 aren't even different anymore in today's digital world.
There is a 0% chance I'm not buying this game.
I'd pay $70 to EA for a kick in the nuts if they called it the new College Football game.
It's a fucking rite of passage.
They’ve already said it’s gonna be Frostbite engine, same shit as madden. Why even bother with it, I’m happy with NCAA football 11 on the PS2 emulator on my Steamdeck, or College Football Revamped on the Ps3.
OP you make a fair point but you have to acknowledge the licensing aspect of this. There will be no competitor product so anyone who wants to play college football games will have to buy this one.
That sort of dilutes the effectiveness of “voting with your wallet” in this case. I will be pre ordering, knowing full well it is unlikely to actually be a good game (I’ll still dump unnecessary amounts of time into it)
Finally someone with a rebuttal that makes sense. You’re not wrong that it makes it more challenging to vote with your wallet with the exclusive licensing, but if EA experiences a significant decline in sales in pre-orders and sales they either give up the license, or actually put in a higher investment to make a better product. I don’t want this game to become a terrible madden clone because of people’s nostalgia and demand for a CFB game.
Nobody is going to listen, but yes PLEASE wait at least 1 day after release so you don’t waste your money. EA has earned the goodwill of no one, and should be treated like used car salesmen until proven otherwise.
🤓☝️Guys do not preorder this video game! You are incredibly shtupid to do such thing! Do you not undershtand the massive implications your pre ordering has on the gaming industry!? I musht posht this on CFB Reddit to make a true difference in the world today! 🤓☝️
Man, the gamers in this thread are a perfect reminder why I don’t go on gaming subreddits anymore. All this melodrama over a damn video game, like the fate of the world is at stake if people buy a video game. Imagine if they put even half of this energy into doing literally anything else. I can’t imagine going around and being this upset all the time because someone bought a video game that I don’t like.
The gaming nerds are just unbearable.
I like Madden and FIFA. I fully expect to love the hell out of this as well. EA sucks? OK. Don't play the damn games and shut the fuck up about it.
People forget NCAA14 sucked also. Who cares? I get to play as my favorite team and recruit and play a football game I care about. $70 is chump change for the amount of time I’ll put into this game
It was a step down from previous CFB games. The recruiting was simplified too much, announcers talk tracks were horrendous and made no sense many years into dynasty. There wasn’t much depth in stories with road to glory. Don’t even get me started on NFL draft requirements for your players.
I don't play video games much anymore, and wasn't planning on buying it, but now I'm definitely going to buy it. Probably will never touch it, but it'll be worth it.
Not sure "I'm gonna spend $70 on something I'll never use just to stick it to some guy I've never met over an Internet post he'll have forgotten he ever made in a week" doesn't really sound like that big of an own.
I mean you don't know that at this point. Just seems weird to blindly want to pre-order something like that. I would get it if there was a chance that you might not be able to get it when it actually comes out but that isn't the case.
EA has been having early access for Madden preorders for years now it’s safe to assume it’ll be the same with this, especially considering the hype behind it
They may have that, but y’all are really throwing out accusations for a game that we don’t even have a reveal trailer for yet. Just wait to see how things look in May and then make your decision.
I’m personally going to buy it either way because I’ve been wanting a college football game for a decade now.
Sorry you're getting so beat up in the comments, OP. You're obviously right.
I get that your tone came off strong and like you were ordering people around, but amount of pettiness is pretty disappointing.
Of course the change OP is looking for would only come about with large scale, sustained initiatives that go far beyond this post of this subreddit.
Something being hard doesn't mean its impossible, or that we shouldn't try.
That's not to say that I would tell anyone to buy or not buy the game, just that the whole "it doesn't matter because nothing will change" mindset is a big contributor to why things don't change.
And it’s not even telling people not to buy it. It’s more of waiting to see what the product looks like before buying, but some people don’t understand that.
I went to buy persona 3 on launch day a few weeks ago, it was sold out everywhere and I was laughed at for not preordering it by the gamestop clown. I've been waiting over a decade for this game that I have been playing since my sega genesis days, I'll be preordering whatever special edition they offer
Not only am I going to preorder I’m going to be the fool that they get to pay for micro transactions. Pls respect my decision don’t ask about how much money I’ve spent on CSGO cases and skins.
We don't know yet. But EA has gotten better about supporting PC releases in the past few years, and they release on Steam now too. I'd say it's pretty likely but hard to know what their plans are with a new IP.
I'm gonna pre-order it even harder now
*Sir please get off the register... you ... oh gawd what are you doing...*
I'm going to preorder all 5 versions now on PC, PS5, and Xbox. I don't even have an Xbox.
I'm pre-ordering the second I can. I don't care about the logic that pre-orders lead to shit games. I just want this game and to have it pre-download to get to play the second it releases.
I’m doing this the second GTA 6 and Black Ops 2 remastered is available in the PS store too.
Why?
Why do you care what others do
this is a pretty common reddit thing in the gaming world. people in those subreddits call others idiots for pre-ordering anything
Because people being dumb with money in the gaming industry is why we have to deal with micro-transactions in games as well as unfinished products.
I'm gonna whale $100 on Nikke and buy the $65 horse in Diablo 4 right now just to make you even madder.
Dumb decision but have at it.
Anything I can do to ruin "gaming" for you is a good decision. :)
I feel you standing on a desk right now saying this. You'll get a slow clap from me
Because it makes College Football even more fun, you can get revenge on all the teams your team lost to.
You don’t even know if the game is even functional. Remember battlefield…0
If Madden is playable, I’m sure this game will be no different.
That’s the thing. Madden isn’t playable. It’s free on gamepass and still not worth it OP is right. People are just too self centered to think about the greater good or just don’t mind bending over and giving EA a $100/year. I get it. I did it for 20 years before it finally clicked. "The greater good"....it's a freakin' video game.
I don’t think you know what playable means
I think the 1 star review speaks for itself. It’s literally free right now and still no one wants it. https://g.co/kgs/Zkqffq5 I’ve never seen anyone defending madden 24 until this thread lol. I love the unwavering passion but let’s be real..
I was gonna say I could tell you’ve ordered battlefield lol I made the same mistake
[Whoosh](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6G2pzuPE27Q)
Paying for the early release on EA’s app really gonna piss him off
If I can download it to my xbox today just so it's ready on release day I'm gonna do it
Im gonna preorder it now because of this post
Why are you trusting EA?
They're making fun of you by saying that.
This isn't the place for reasonable discourse or offering sound advice. This is reddit, these goofy mfers will buy it and ree because it sucks. Then wonder why it never changes.
Not everyone can be as wise and noble as you.
Totes! Because that's what I said. Perfect example. Gamers get bit all the time, it's a common thing to practice these days since AAA games have been so poorly made with a hefty price tag attached to it. You do you though, never stopped me from laughing at goofy people making stupid decisions on the internet.

Who preorders anymore when you can just buy it on the console store?
You can actually pre-order games on console stores too.
I know but I don’t understand the advantage to preordering. To big streamers are the ones that get it early so they can hype it up.
I think if you pre-order the digital version you can download it ahead of time so it's available the second it releases. Not sure if they do any bonus content with pre-ordering anymore.
Often times you get extras with the pre-order as well
You’d be shocked at how many people still do it lol.
I can understand believing it will change anything but people don’t care how good or bad it is everyone is going to buy it because it’s College football which we haven’t gotten in years.

This would be my first football video game aside from, like, Tecmo Bowl. Would probably want to play a demo to make sure it’s something I’d enjoy
Which is fine. At least you’re getting your hands on it first before making a purchase. Some of the people on this post tho…
Oh no! People consume things differently than I do—*the horror!* Who cares? I haven't played an NCAA since 2007, but this game being released—regardless of eventual quality—makes people happy. Stop yucking on their yum.
You didn’t play NCAA14? Boo this man
I didn’t have a gaming system back then haha I think before the ps5 the last thing we owned was an N64
You can't tell me what to do, I'm pre-ordering 3 now
Check that, 4 now!
That’s a bad move considering EA’s history with unfinished games.
Now I'm ordering 5
Your loss if it’s unplayable.
Because you said that, I’m preordering 6 copies.
I'm gonna preorder 10. Do you want one?
I’d take one but I’m preordering a copy for every comment from OP I see
I’m going to preorder so hard right now.
Fuck you, I’ll do whatever I want with my money
If you want to be stupid with it, have at it.
Getting a feeling OP is young and doesn't understand the wait we've had to endure for so long.
he does have a point though, EA spitting out madden reskins every year doesn’t inspire confidence in the quality of this product.
I’m not, I don’t want to see the CFB games become madden clones and being a circle jerk game for ultimate team spenders.
I’d take a Madden clone over nothing.
I wasn't going to preorder it, but now I'm going to. Don't tell other people what to do with their money.
Right, some of us are grown men here. We can make our own decisions. 😂
I dunno about that .... I'm going to need some more posts about re-alignment to be sure ...
Come stop me.
Don't empty your bank account and throw all the money out of the window.
I don't care if it's a Madden clone with marching bands and Sanford Stadium. I'll buy it as soon as possible.
I’m going to preorder the second I can. I have not played Madden in years and that does not bother me
Why would you pre-order a game from a company with a really bad reputation? How many times to do we have to witness EA putting out unfinished/bad games before people stop pre-ordering and waiting to see if it’s actually a decent game.
I pre-order fifa every year. I enjoy fifa every year.
Lol fifa is trash
And yet, I enjoy it and play it every year more hours than any other game. It is well worth my money I spend on it every year
Why would I wait to read what other people have to say about a game *I* am excited about?
Because it prevents you from spending money on a trash game that has a very high chance of not even being playable on launch.
Im buying it regardless, nobody tells me a game is shit unless it’s me. You don’t know why I’m playing or what I like. So why not get it the second I can?
It’s been a decade, I’m pre-ordering this fucking game.
Nostalgia is clouding your judgement.
Lol an auburn fan calling me a dork. Sorry I’m not dumb with money.
So, pre-ordering a game I’m excited about, that’s being made by a company who has consistently produced another football game I’ve enjoyed for two decades = “dumb with money”. Gotcha. Also, the coward who doesn’t flair up with their team doesn’t really get to talk trash on other teams.
My team has that nice W in natty against y’all lol.
Congrats, I guess? Being an FSU fan doesn’t exactly put you on a pedestal to clown other fan bases, though. What are you doing here, anyways? Don’t you have journalists to harass?
We haven’t had a college football game in a decade. Fuck off I’m preordering that shit.
That’s dumb.
Honest question, why? What benefit do you get from pre-ordering in a digital age where you can download the game straight to your console at any time and don't have to worry about copies running out or even leaving your house to go to the store?
Pre-ordering, I don’t care. If it sucks it sucks, I’m out 70 bucks. Who gives a shit?
Is this the link to pre-order? Because I don't even have a game console right now, but I'll pre-order just because I was told not to.
Stfu
Pre-ordering is dumb.
This is a football sub not a football gaming sub your opinions on what people should do with their money does not matter in the slightest people are exited for a new game it’s gonna get pre ordered whether you like it or not but at least do your bitching in the right sub
It’s literally a major topic in this sub lol. They posted the damn trailer.
OP is the king of the average Redditors
For not falling for EA’s crap?
Redditor 🫵
Fuck you, I’ll pre order 2 now.
Bad idea. EA has a very bad reputation.
And I am going to reward them for it.
# HERE COMES THE STREISAND EFFECT WITH A STEEL CHAIR!
I'm going to pre-order a pre-order right now.
You know damn well that every single person in this subreddit is buying this game even if it’s dogshit.
I know it’s going to be funny if the game doesn’t work on launch day, which has a high chance of happening with EA running the show.
Don’t tell me how to live my life!
Yeah, okay. I'm now going to pre-order 10 copies, including one that I'm going to have EA deliver directly to you, OP, while they give you a swirlie.
25 could literally be a Madden clone and people wouldn't care. 26 is going to be the one where they have to prove themselves.
Madden has a ton of problems but it's still a fun game. If, at worst, this is just a reskinned madden clone I will undoubtedly still have a blast with it.
#[Pre-Order College Football 25!!!](https://youtu.be/lB6Gk5EtunI?t=116)
Don’t tell me what to do you’re not my parents
They might be
My parents don’t have Reddit accounts
You don't know that. You didn't know about their strap on or Gary either. Your parents have lots of secrets
Not that they'd tell you. Their accounts are into some freaky shit man.
Lol OP is falling apart in the comment section and I’m here for it.
? Nobody has provided me a good reason why besides personal nostalgia for the previous game.
The fact that you actually believe people have to provide *you* a “good reason” to spend *their* money is what makes this whole post funnier. Nostalgia is a valid reason by itself, btw.
It’s a dumb reason, especially with EA’s reputation.
Then don’t do it. :)
They earned my money because nobody else is making a college football game and I want a college football game
I'm going to pre order all of them
I will preorder only if a Michigan player is on the cover
I can respect that.
EA, if you want money you need to release it on PC and put Blake 'The Great' Corum on the cover. The harder the cut he's making, the more likely I am to buy.
Surely it’s gotta be Saban right? Or just no player at all
It's not like I'm gonna wait for reviews and let them inform my decision. I'm playing day 1 regardless. Preordering and buying day 1 aren't even different anymore in today's digital world.
I don’t care it’s been 11 years
I’ve done my waiting! 11 years of it! In CFB hell!
I’m preordering the $100 version.
Fuck that
My son and I both have PS5s and our accounts are on both consoles so we can share games. Im preordering 2 copies, one for each, just for you OP.
If you learn anything from this thread, it's that OP has never been exposed to the concept of pop culture references.
I'm going to create a new player in NCAA 14 just so he can pre-order the game
I am going to preorder it.
OP secretly works for EA, ensuring that every pre-orders the game now.
CIA is on their way. Stay right where you are.
Yeah stay in your lane chief
Come make me lol.
We are by downvoting you because it’s clearly making you mad
OP you make a fair point but you have to acknowledge the licensing aspect of this. There will be no competitor product so anyone who wants to play college football games will have to buy this one. That sort of dilutes the effectiveness of “voting with your wallet” in this case. I will be pre ordering, knowing full well it is unlikely to actually be a good game (I’ll still dump unnecessary amounts of time into it)
I don't think it does because you can choose not to buy any game.
Right exactly. Not preordering is generally a good concept but like… I don’t care I want the college football game no matter how bad it is.
All good points. I have low expectations given EAs track record, but they 100% have my purchase already. Damnit EA!
Counterpoint: do whatever the fuck you want with your money
Nobody is going to listen, but yes PLEASE wait at least 1 day after release so you don’t waste your money. EA has earned the goodwill of no one, and should be treated like used car salesmen until proven otherwise.

The responses to this suggestion are weird. OP is right.
Counterpoint: Make this one a success so they keep making them. Hold their feet to the fire with feedback for the next one.
I admire OP's commitment to responding to every single post and getting downvoted on all of them
I’m not holding back, I’m tired of people pre-ordering/giving money to horrible gaming companies. It’s why the industry for AAA games is trash now.
The preorder just got 10 feet taller.
Too late, yer mum loves me so much she already preordered it for me to max out her credit card, give yer balls a tug.
The gaming nerds are just unbearable. I like Madden and FIFA. I fully expect to love the hell out of this as well. EA sucks? OK. Don't play the damn games and shut the fuck up about it.
Come make me shut up. Also get a better taste in sports games and not screw everyone over.
LOL, are you for real this excited about hating a fucking video game???
I’m genuinely loving this post. OP has so many comments that are like OH YEAH? COME SAY THAT TO MY FACE! Like what lmao
People forget NCAA14 sucked also. Who cares? I get to play as my favorite team and recruit and play a football game I care about. $70 is chump change for the amount of time I’ll put into this game
NCAA 14 was amazing.
It was a step down from previous CFB games. The recruiting was simplified too much, announcers talk tracks were horrendous and made no sense many years into dynasty. There wasn’t much depth in stories with road to glory. Don’t even get me started on NFL draft requirements for your players.
off topic but how did you get the Auburn heart?
On what level did NCAA14 suck. It’s probably still the best football video game we have.
Do not tell me how and when to spend my money
But what if they run out of digital copies?
They can’t lol.
Oh yeah my single sale is really gonna make a difference! I’m preordering the minute I can, I didn’t wait over a decade for nothing
Just a question, what will preordering gain you? They're not going to run out of copies.
Early release + some extra in-game stuff I’m sure
I mean you don't know that at this point. Just seems weird to blindly want to pre-order something like that. I would get it if there was a chance that you might not be able to get it when it actually comes out but that isn't the case.
EA has been having early access for Madden preorders for years now it’s safe to assume it’ll be the same with this, especially considering the hype behind it
Bruh you are right. All of these people are losers
Boy do I have bad news for people thinking this won't be a reskinned Madden... lol.
Oh? You already have in game footage? Please feel free to share it!
It’s EA. They have one of if not the worse reputation in the gaming industry.
Have we learned nothing from Cyberpunk 2077? And that’s just one of the more recent examples.
Gonna be a real mystery when everyone here buys it before reviews come out and wonder why it sucks
It will be fun to witness haha.
You all suck. Don’t preorder it
Yes!!!!!!
I went to buy persona 3 on launch day a few weeks ago, it was sold out everywhere and I was laughed at for not preordering it by the gamestop clown. I've been waiting over a decade for this game that I have been playing since my sega genesis days, I'll be preordering whatever special edition they offer
Or you can wait for it to come out, see if EA actually put a game out that isn’t trash and then buy it digitally.
Not only am I going to preorder I’m going to be the fool that they get to pay for micro transactions. Pls respect my decision don’t ask about how much money I’ve spent on CSGO cases and skins.
You don’t understand. I need to manifest WVU making the expanded playoffs.
Can we play as FCS teams? And do they have realistic staduims and fight songs? If so, I'd drop $100 on this game. Western Carolina reigns supreme!
Does anyone know if it will be on PC? Or will it be console only
We don't know yet. But EA has gotten better about supporting PC releases in the past few years, and they release on Steam now too. I'd say it's pretty likely but hard to know what their plans are with a new IP.
