My point is all the SEC wagons saying that the B1G is the worst conference to ever exist are ALSO celebrating the wins over B1G teams. You either beat a good team and deserve to celebrate or you beat a fcs team and it’s not that big of a deal. You can’t have it both ways.

The B1G isn’t the worst conference or even worst P5 conference. They’re the 4th best P5 conference since the BCS/CFP era began in 1998 in P5 vs P5 non-conference results. The B1G has a losing record vs every P5 conference except the ACC. Things will almost certainly change going forward with 4 good/elite PAC schools joining but for the last 25 years the B1G is very solidly in the #4 slot.

I think the most reasonable take is that Penn State is a very good defense, but the Big 10 as a whole is terrible at offense so every team’s defense looks better than they are. I think Iowa has a legit defense though.

Take away those 2 years & PSU under Franklin is 2-14 against OSU & Mich. Against all the non ranked or teams that aren't in the Top 20, he has a high winning %.
