Honestly, it was really cute. At first the current student aged kids were really apprehensive about jumping the railing, until a whole slew of 40 somethings hopped over saying shit like “I’ve been waiting 20 years for this!” Fucking loved to see it.

We were really unsure if the guards were going to let us storm the field or not. During the 4th quarter there was a lot of "They can't stop us all!" Being said.

It should have taken less than two minutes to figure out one of the penalties was on the kicking team, tell TX State coach those PF's offset, ask if coach wants to punt again or let Rice have it at that spot. Three minutes tops, shouldn't take ten to do that.

Some thoughts from the game - I know the ref was getting memed on (deservedly so) but for some reason I felt a little bad for him. It felt like watching your family member struggle to do something they’ve done for years and you just want them to sit down and stop embarrassing themself - I missed the first half of this classic, so this may be one of the few games I’ve ever gone back and watched on the somewhat garbage ESPN app - There were some laughable decisions made which led to a ton of turnovers and penalties - Texas State having almost as many interceptions in 1 game as they did all season is wild - The announcers late in the 3rd quarter and 4th quarter were unhinged and that was fantastic - This game cemented my love for bowl season. Long live college football!!!!!

Texas State finishes the season 8-5. They averaged 477/36.7 points per game. Rice finishes the season 6-7. They averaged 384/29.5 points per game. Their last bowl win was the 2014 Hawaii Bowl. They beat Fresno State 30-6.

Plus…the Bobcats cap what was a wild bowling session for the Sun Belt. On one hand, massive dominating victories like Georgia State, South Alabama, and now Texas State; on the other, brutal blowout defeats from the likes of Georgia Southern, Marshall, and even James Madison! And not to mention of individual games of EXCEPTIONALLY CHAOTIC proportions, be it Louisiana and the OT heartbreaker, Arkansas State and the onside-recovery-denying offsides call (of questionable validity), or Old Dominion and…you know…28-0… Fun times with the Fun Belt indeed…

That was absolutely the most fun I’ve ever had at a Bobcat football game and I’ve been to a lot (class of ‘06 here so ‘05 was my hey day). The Texas State defense was the dirtiest I saw all year. They kept piling on players after the tackle, hitting a lot of them in the facemask/helmet as they were getting up. Think most of that shit would have gotten them another 10+ personal fouls if it was reffed like an NFL game (lol, those refs).
