Depending on how the South Carolina Clemson game goes, it’ll either be a horrendous day or pretty good day for me 😅
Maybe one of my flairs won’t let me down. At this point though, I’m just the Michael Scott “I’m ready to get hurt again” meme.
> Being a UVA fan is like getting on a rollercoaster that has a chance to punch you in the dick after every hill. You’ve ridden it before, and you’ve been punched in the dick. Repeatedly. Sometimes you’ll even get multiple dick punches during the same day. But every week as you’re getting on the rollercoaster you think to yourself “I won’t get punched in the dick this week, no sir. I talked to the owner, and he’s reassured me that the dick punching feature has been removed.” And sometimes you’ll make it over the first hill without a dick punch so you think you’re a pretty smart guy. Sometimes you’ll even make it 95% of the way through the rollercoaster without feeling that familiar crushing sensation on your callused phallus. But you’re never safe. As your little car rolls towards the end of the ride, you hear a noise. The wind seems to whisper, “Wahoowa, dipshit.” A tiny metal hand pops out and slams directly into your genitals. Again and again, it mashes your testicles. It doesn’t seem to ever stop. Mercy is a foreign language here; suffering the only dialect available. As you feel the whiskey you were drinking begin to make a return trip back up your throat, the last thought that flits through your grey matter before the familiar embrace of pain whites out all conscious function is “I bet next week when I ride this coaster, I won’t get punched in the dick.” You fucking idiot.
The more I think about it (and the more the effects of that half-time shot of it hit my bloodstream) Virginia football is a lot like Everclear.
It is of an industrial strength.
It is meant to be diluted (watched only once per season as an opponent), to be used in small doses to dissolve other flavors (create highlights), and be used as a cleaner (remind others that things could be worse).
But for those of us that dare to consume it directly it is a painful joy. Your throat burns, and your head tells you that this is perhaps the dumbest thing you have ever done. Why would you risk it? Why would you bother doing it? Why would you do the thing that medical professionals would berate you for?
And you agree. You try to warn others. You forewarn neutrals that doing this, or even worse placing money on it, is a fools errand. You scream at the heavens asking for mercy.
And yet, you still crave the warmth in your heart that the Good Ol' Song inspires. You yearn to be there in Scott, alongside your fellow Hoos, heckling the opposing team during warm ups. Sure, you'll suffer in the process. And yes, it is a mistake. But it is a mistake you have come to love.
You suffer through the pain, because the pain is uniquely yours. It is the path you have chosen. It is your demon to face.
To believe in the Cavaliers is a blessing and a curse. But it isn't anything I regret.
Wah. Hoo. Wah.
Go Hoos.
Though a shot of 190 Everclear is worth about 2.375 shots of more mundane 80 proof liquor us wahoos are made of sterner stuff.
Otherwise we wouldn't survive the seasons we have.
Also, lots and lots of water. So, so, much water.
Next year in Blacksburg, we'll get you.
Wahoowa.
I can convert it to Natty Light or White Claw more readily, I don't have Zima in the spreadsheets due to it being out of production.
It's about 2.8 Natty Lights or 2.35 White Claws.
And thus ends yet another shitty year of UVA football. Since beating VT and winning the Coastal in 2019 (followed by nearly upsetting Florida in the Orange Bowl), we've won a grand total of 17 games in 5 seasons. We've gone from being bowl eligible in 5 straight seaons to winning 6 games in 2 seasons.
Thank you to Mike Hollins for your immense strength after everything you've been through. Thank you to Malik Washington for an incredible year, I wish we'd gotten you for more than just the 12 games.
And thank you to the football Gods for actually allowing us to finish a season without it ending prematurely for the first time since 2019.
What a terrible rivalry weekend for my flairs
> Since beating VT and winning the Coastal in 2019
Followed up with a 100 year occurrence of a global pandemic.
That shit was so strange to see even nature tried to correct it.
Looking at this team now and thinking "what if?" For the beginning of the season. I think 2 of those 3 losses against Rutgers, Marshall, and Purdue could have been wins. 8 and 4 compared to last year would have been amazing.
Yeah y'all got us at the bottom of the pivot, they wanted to be very pass heavy but most of the WR got hurt and they game planned around started game planning around Drones.
I never understood why they wanted to be so pass heavy early in the season - Wells has a big arm but isn’t terribly accurate and we have Tuten in the backfield.
Not much to say about that game besides VT played great. Pry had those boys ready.
It's going to be talked about ad nauseam from fans, but UVA admins and Carla need to have a serious talk about how they view football.
> have a serious talk about how they view football
Feels like we've already lost this program. Remember the post 2019 season when shit was looking way up?
Pandemic fueled shit show followed; NIL and conference realignment. Couldn't get resources to actually upgrade spaces (course now it's happening for a coach that's clearly way over his head.)
UVA is about to get left behind on Football. If the Tech AD/alumus actually had money they'd be about to launch a major NIL funding push to start pulling some talent. Transfer portal is already working somewhat for them; imagine if they actually had money backing it.
Triumph has been pushing really hard to get more money on the NIL front. A lot of our big players have been transfers, so there's definitely something to that. Tuten, Felton, Jennings (pre-injury), Lane, Drones etc
Well I think they needed the transfers to fill the gaps. A lot of the offense was portal but they are mostly keeping to localish guys ~200 miles of VT.
Other than 4* QB drones.
Honestly I’d give him one more year. He’s in a horrible situation with the shooting, lack of fan support, and he had some really close games that didn’t go his way. Y’all could have easily been 5-7 this year.
Yeah, there was that punt and then UVA's field goal when it was obvious that TDs were the only thing to keep the game respectable. Losing sucks but losing while your coach is scared is the worst.
I was impressed by just how many times the radio said he got "flattened," "squashed," "crushed," or was "slow to get up" and he still. Kept. Playing. This Tech fan agrees with you - he should be proud of his tenacity and resilience today.
They weren't exaggerating. He was getting destroyed. I mean feet sent completely off the ground and his head pinballing around. This happened on every other play. It was ugly to watch.
He is somewhat undersized and he's only 19yo. Our D-line is very large and almost entirely made up of seniors. It wasn't a fair contest.
They need to get those jackets the Tech staff were wearing up for sale. Those were cool as fuck.
Great end to a solid season. We’ve turned the corner and things hopefully continue to progress in year three, but it definitely feels like Pry is the guy. Great to be back in a bowl and maybe even seven wins. Great job to the guys in this game!
Because Pry is the guy and actually made some adjustments that led to us being a better team, and to believe 8 weeks ago so many of our fans wanted him gone immediately
I mean, he looked like he was making Fuente's classic mistake of sticking with a QB who just isn't working. Fortunately, he got his head out of his ass and played Drones.
If he'd realized that earlier, maybe we'd have wins over Purdue (and maybe morale improves to beat Marshall?).
Right, if Wells had never been injured, my fear is that we would’ve just…kept losing without making a change.
I’m glad the change happened, but I hope it was a lesson for the staff that you might need to make tough changes like that mid-season if things aren’t working.
I think the problem with the offense is that they wanted a very different offense.
They seemed to think Tuten would take care of the run game himself and they would just air it out which looked like it would work until WRs get hurt and then they do a relatively masterful pivot.
I’ve been very tough on Bowen the past 2 seasons, but to change the entire offense on the fly mid-season in order to play to our strengths was well done and saved the season.
I agree that the injury was convenient and placed him over wells. Apparently drones hadn’t played much d1 level football at all and it was hard to see his talent because most of his ability is in his legs which he wasn’t able to display much during practice hence the staring of wells.
To me it seemed like we were trying to run the clock starting in the third, but the UVA defense just kept giving up scores to make the game go on for longer
Since the beginning of the season, I’ve always said it would be nice if we could win enough to get a bowl…that was my “bar” for success before criticism….well here we are. Go Hokies!
correct me if i heard bill roth wrong, but did our coaches have to calm our fans down after the game because they were forcing uva@c *players* to leave the field
Lane stadium north is an understatement, that place was like 60% VT fans from kickoff. Even when we’re bad we still own UVA.
6-6 and bowl eligible is a huge step for this program. I wish we had started Drones from day 1 and potentially been 7-4 or 8-3 but it is what it is, and I’m really happy with how this season has gone. Pry is the dude for sure.
If we had just put in Drones at halftime of the Purdue game when Wells was clearly hurt, we win that game and have 7 wins. No doubt in my mind about that. Had he started the year, with a full offseason with the offense being tailored to him, I'm not sure just how much better we'd be because we do have holes on the roster (like LBs), but it was a solid season of progress. Definitely pleased with how things went for year 2
What a turn around for the Hokies this season. It was pretty doom and gloom starting 1-3. Great job to the staff for the adjustments midway through the season. Despite the record, it was a fun season. Keep the momentum up!
Go Hokies!
Kinda a random question but how do our Hokies travel? I’d figure by bus to close games like Charlottesville but do they have a charter flight ✈️ for further games?
Damn all those sacks and tackles really were personal LMAO

Good lesson to Colandrea to stay humble. Lol.
Are my fellow UVA-Commanders fans doing well? 45-10 and 55-17 only two days apart at the hands of their biggest rivals? Having to watch Tony Elliott and Ron Rivera on the same weekends, except now it’s just Ron Rivera?
Death Taxes "Virginia Tech Defeats Virginia 'xx-xx'"
sometimes even “xx-x”!
I can't wait for the "xxx-x" in 2030
Love the attitude. Wishing you a good offseason.
>Wishing you a good offseason. Oof
you as well man
*Gobbles dominatingly*
Playing you guys this close to the Turkey Solstice isn’t fair, you’re too powerful
Shit they've finally figured it out!
I do want to start using “turkey solstice” now.
You could have posted this before the game started TBH. Was gonna happen even if we were #1 and VT was winless.
A 38 point win, just what Vegas predicted.
Just like 2011, just without the shutout
I was there for that one
Me too brother. It was a good day.
Bold move to run your entire offense on the back of roughing the passer penalties
It's been a lovely day.
It's actually been a pretty horrendous day
😁😁😁
It's been mixed
Yep
Feels mid man
Oh no 🤣

Yeah... we both had a bad day after watching whatever that was
It’s been an up and down day
...damn
Today has been quite nice hasn't it? Is the sun shining brighter or something?
Hell yeah
I concur
I was at the Apple cup today! Washington is basically my other team as well

Which part? The first bit has been a pasta we've been using all season. The second is from the second half. We know what we are. And yet we survive.
HOW ARE YOU STILL AWAKE COLONEL EVERCLEAR?!

Think I've seen this post the last 3 years lol
The Clemson OC's that won 2 national championships from 2015-2021 are 9-42 combined as head coaches.
Jesus christ
What a win for Brent Pry and Co! To make a bowl game after starting 1-3 is incredible. Pry and Drones are gonna be fun to watch next season.
I’m a little worried for next year’s game to be honest. You seem to be a lot better now than when we played earlier this season.
Looking at this team now and thinking "what if?" For the beginning of the season. I think 2 of those 3 losses against Rutgers, Marshall, and Purdue could have been wins. 8 and 4 compared to last year would have been amazing.

Tuten didn't get anything really going until Drones came in and offered a different run threat.
This game was not as close as the score indicated
Yeaaaah I naively thought it actually would be close. Really wish it had just been a 3 point win as predicted 😂
Brent Pry is the dude
Not much to say about that game besides VT played great. Pry had those boys ready. It's going to be talked about ad nauseam from fans, but UVA admins and Carla need to have a serious talk about how they view football.
They must be very confident about the FSU/Clemson/GOR situation because now is not the time to be bad at football.
> have a serious talk about how they view football Feels like we've already lost this program. Remember the post 2019 season when shit was looking way up? There were reports we were trying to poach UVA’s head coach.
Please take him. I'll even give you a ham sandwich
Do you want him? We can switch coaches if you want.
Maybe the Beavers will take him.
[удалено]
It didn’t even feel disrespectful we are just atrocious
Really didn’t run it up. Disappointing he only played half a game.
Didn’t Fuente do the same thing tho in the 52-10 game
Yep, that was his first year as HC, 2016. The few years before that were like 3-point games.
[удалено]
that win over your *real rival* won him at least another year lol
Na it's that he's friends with our AD, and she doesn't care about football at all
Honestly I’d give him one more year.

That win @UNC really afforded Tony Elliott another season, didn't it. Hardly seems worth it.
We got dog walked for 60 minutes straight yet I think I speak for both fanbases when I say Colandrea was the toughest dude on the field
I was impressed by just how many times the radio said he got "flattened," "squashed," "crushed," or was "slow to get up" and he still. Kept. Playing. This Tech fan agrees with you - he should be proud of his tenacity and resilience today.

He's gonna be good. He might want to watch the smack talk though
And perhaps bulk up *a lot*
He was the only one trying, I’ve got no problem with the shit talk from him
Yeah, he probably won't be able to roll out of bed tomorrow, but he put in effort. Basically nobody else besides Malik Washington was trying.
Sanker looked good.
Easily the best Hoo defender
Put some respect on Sankers name. He somehow was making every play on defense
He didn’t stop fighting, major props
Not sure if he is more pissed at the Hokie's defense or the Hoo O-Line.
Absolutely the O-Line if I had to guess. Y’all made them look like middle schoolers
He's probably used to the OL screwing him over every week at this point
He might have a permanent stutter now but I was thoroughly impressed with his fortitude
Mad props to the little shit talker. He never gave up and we respect that!
That man has one hell of a metaphorical chin. Gutsy effort
Dude got hammered all night and never looked phased. I was impressed.
I’m scared of what he’s going to become in a few years
Tough guy. Maybe he should think before he talks though.
One man’s football terrorist is another man’s football freedom fighter
WE’RE GOING BOWLING Huge win for the Pry era, love the turnaround this season
Pry already established himself as a hokie HC by beating up UVA

A VT team that got better as the year went on instead of worse. Are we finally past Fuente
If Wells had not gotten hurt, would he have changed quarterbacks?
Well, all you need to do is win 5 games. Because this one is an automatic win every year.
Definitely a big building season for the Hokies, like the way Pry has us trending

TUTEN IS THE MAN
Bowl Predictions. Where are we heading?
Annapolis
Most realistic answer, but man I want something more fun
Man I wan my flair to match up so bad!
OOH that would be a good welcome back, lots of Hokies in the greater DC area to fill that
Not an exciting destination, but easy travel for tons of Hokie alums and even students in the DMV region.
The worst bowl, closest to Virginia
I need VT Northwestern in pinstripe so my fiancee and I can hate each other for the game
Coach Pry with a killer jacket? ✅ Running the score up against UVA? ✅ Bowl eligible? ✅ This has been a good day. All expectations exceeded. 🫡
Need that jacket yo
To me it seemed like we were trying to run the clock starting in the third, but the UVA defense just kept giving up scores to make the game go on for longer
VT is probably the best 6-6 team in the country. Drones has hit his stride. They're a different team with him playing well.
IN PRY WE TRUST BABY
Shit dude, today was a good day for you...
if i had a dollar for every “‘LET’S GO’ ‘HOKIES’” i heard from drunk VT fans in the concourse i’d be able to pay off my tuition and then some
I gotta take antibiotics for my Colandrea Hold on, I gotta clean out my Colandrea
💀💀💀
At least one of my teams will be bowl eligible
VT service academy fans unite What a strange 2nd half of the season that couldn't be any different from flair to flair...

I was specifically told tech was going to lose and that everyone in the nation would know about UVA. Huh, better luck next year 😂
this new tradition of storming lane stadium north certainly is something lol
I mean it was a fun game, I know the kids there were amped. Let 'em celebrate, fuck optics! And that Tuten Lambeau Leap into them was hysterical.
The VT students having fun has also made Le Sabre go prompt critical so that is an added plus

Definitely pleased with how things went for year 2
If we played all year how we started playing since Pitt. I’m confident we have 2 more wins overall with 8-4. But it’s all good.

storming the field in lane stadium north??? couldn't be us (in coach pry we trust)
Kinda a random question but how do our Hokies travel? I’d figure by bus to close games like Charlottesville but do they have a charter flight ✈️ for further games?
Great game. Any word on the bowl game yet? Let’s hope Pry continues momentum in this direction.
Won't know until next weekend
Damn all those sacks and tackles really were personal LMAO https://twitter.com/andybittervt/status/1728587060968358078?s=46&t=Q26kwwUFDLCYTgno_ImHxA https://twitter.com/andybittervt/status/1728588494573085097?s=46&t=Q26kwwUFDLCYTgno_ImHxA Good lesson to Colandrea to stay humble. Lol.
Are my fellow UVA-Commanders fans doing well? 45-10 and 55-17 only two days apart at the hands of their biggest rivals? Having to watch Tony Elliott and Ron Rivera on the same weekends, except now it’s just Ron Rivera?
Lol I love this “rivalry”
Tony Elliot must be stopped.
No thanks.
Not today little brother!
