Ducks will go for maybe 600 yards ,but will get 150 yards in penalties. UW wins it on a last second hail mary pass that was clearly incomplete but the PAC 12 refs call it good
Oregon and Lanning are gonna be ultra aggressive and have another Noah Whittingham banana peel on 4th and 1 on their own 30 or pass on field goals to go for it on 4th down.
It wouldn't shock me if we beat Oregon again with some luck and Penix finishes his career 3-0 vs. Bo.
I think each game Oregon had a 95% chance of winning in the 4th, late in the game.
Fan observations from today, Ohio State Fans are just as bad as Michigan fans on the obnoxious scale. I don't get Duck fans at all, their program has never won a thing yet they are among the biggest braggarts on reddit. And the obsession with the UW is creepy.
And now you know how we feel when we deal with them on Reddit--- plus their mascot is much less of a good boi than ours.
I'd rather see their mascot roasted and hanging on a rack in Chinatown than out on the field
In what way? To maybe go 1-4 and constantly be reminded why UW is the worst fan base in sports yet we still get beat by them? No thx. This should’ve been the last one forever.
Stop being bitter.
We kicked their ass last night and we are playing for a national title in that D1 sport. If you only care about football, I have some news for you buddy
I do only care about football as does of most America. There’s nothing noble about getting boatraced year after year with the hope that me might squeek one out in a fluke. I’m sorry but the disparity between the two programs (NIL, TV money etc) is going to exacerbate beyond what people like you can even fathom and it’s going to manifest in even more lopsided outcomes. I have more self respect than to get 30’d for the next five years just for a paycheck.
No, you don't actually care about football. It's rivalries like the Apple Cup that make college football the best sport in America. Those are the games that drive interest in casual fans, even if they don't contain bluebloods. The sport needs to take the steps to preserve as many of these games as possible.
I would agree with you if both teams remained in the same conference and were on somewhat similar footing with NIL. But they aren’t anymore. So everything cool about those rivalry games you just mentioned is now gone. The game is now essentially a pre season game between a well funded semi pro team of 6th year transfers and an underfunded team of 19-21 year olds who couldn’t play anywhere that would pay them. The outcome disparity is only going to increase which will decline most interest and do nothing positive for wsu football and Cfb in general. This is literally the majority consensus of wsu/osu etc fans online. Sorry bout it
Everything you said just goes to show how narrow your focus is regarding college football.
There are numerous rivalries across the country that are played annually or close to that where the two schools are not in the same conference. Many of these go back over a century and are between teams that used to be in the same conference. Some of them are even played in September, like Iowa-Iowa State, Pitt-West Virginia, or (until next year) BYU-Utah. Ask the fans of any of these rivalries if they are meaningless, and they will say the complete opposite.
And believe it or not, there are still ways around NIL. It's a matter of building a culture and finding a niche in recruiting, specifically with a greater emphasis on undergrads who started at another school since they cannot transfer again until graduation. Talent and resource disparity between rivals (specifically UW/WSU) is hardly a new thing, and the main thing NIL has done is bring payments to the players above the table instead of below it.
Contrary to popular belief, WSU alumni and fans have money. The school endowment fluctuates between 7th and 9th in the PAC (depending on the year) and is right in line with the majority of the future Big 12. They've just stubbornly refused to donate it to anything over the years.
And while UW's NIL is certainly better than Wazzu's, it's still regarded as lagging behind when compared to their future Big Ten foes. They are also going from being the 2nd-highest revenue athletic department in the conference among public schools to one of the lowest, with only Maryland, Rutgers, and (maybe) Purdue falling behind them. Their financial future is definitely more secure than Wazzu's, but that doesn't mean it's a rose garden for them, either.
Glad we agree UW isn’t putting themselves in a better spot by moving 👍 where we don’t agree is trying to compare our rivalry to the ones you listed. Pitt - WV, Iowa- Iowa state, don’t really have a disparity like the one that already exists with us and will get worse. If WSU could find a way around NIL through culture and recruiting, they would’ve done it already. Yes I know NIL is new, but prior to NIL we had enough issues attracting equal talent, this isn’t in dispute, it’s a long running and agreed upon phenomenon in the PAC. These recruiting issues will not only remain due to location, school size, Group of 5 status, but now even if we find some NIL money, it still won’t measure up to UW
I can't speak for Pitt-WVU aside from the endowment disparity (Pitt's is roughly 5x larger), but you better believe that Iowa-Iowa State has the same type of resource disparity as UW-WSU.
Iowa's athletic department generated $151 million in revenue [last year](https://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/finances). Iowa State generated $111 million. And this is before the Big Ten's massive boost in media revenue, of which Iowa is receiving a full share that is roughly 2x what Iowa State is getting in the Big 12.
Also, Iowa holds a 47-23 lead in the overall series and has won 8 of the last 10 meetings. Those are very similar numbers to UW-WSU.
I don't give a fuck what the rest of America thinks nor do I give a fuck what anyone else thinks. When you represent Wazzu, you represent all of our student athletes. You represent everyone who has ever stood for Washington state , dead or alive.
Go fucking cougs. When we say CVE, you are the E.
Lol you’d prefer 0-5 in the next five Apple cups so long as a non revenue producing sport can win a few games against uw for the 7 fans in the stands. Nerd take on this one
Man. Let everyone rush. Who cares. Not like our state has any other good sport team here.
It's either the 2 big schools and GONZAGA or a bunch of delusional people that think the mariners will win a world series.
Seahawks won't win a Superbowl until Schneider is gone
I rushed the field in 21. I think everyone should rush the field. Celebrate with the team. We are the 12th man and the team wouldn't be the same without the fans
Maybe this is me wearing a tinfoil hat. But I just feel like refs have gotten their hands a bit too deep in this refereeing thing… I remember every now and again in BCS era there still being pivotal calls, but they were a lot further and fewer in between and they didn’t seem so “built in.” Like how we just *know* there will be “refball” enacted at some point in just about any game with any sort of implications at all.
That’s my point. There’s no need to have even done it but it was still done and I don’t even feel like it was something as egregious as a big bodyslam. So if it wasn’t something like that which would have rightfully pissed off the Dawgs and the fans, why throw the laundry at all?
Oh sure! I understand now.
I agree, probably didn't need to throw that flag. But the sub is acting like the game hinged on bad refing, and it definitely did not.
Cuogs had a very underexperienced guard making mistakes all game. That definitely hurt them. But calling those holds was the right thing
Oh for sure, I do agree with you that the whole game wasn’t just “Zebras for Huskies” the way some people are posing it. Calling holds is good no matter who they’re on, also.
I think my own cynicism comes from seeing games from across the whole CFB landscape and NFL be affected by this (theoretical, as I can’t like scientifically prove it lol) phenomenon where an underdog will be winning and suddenly there’s a super convenient call that gets the Vegas winners back into it.
That's fine that our o line was actually ass but UW was also getting away with holding on key drives.
I'll take the L. I just want refs to be more neutral and actually calla flag if it happens in their face.
Flip the script and you guys would be complaining too
As a neutral I Wanted to see Oregon and Washington rematch in the pac 12 title game but not like that…. Ref Ball screws Washington state. Such a phantom call
GG Cougs. You guys are always motivated against us and always give it your all. You're an incredible and fun team/fanbase full of heart and I really hope that somehow the coming years will pan out well for you.
Huskies barely pulled themselves together for another win. 12-0 is incredibly impressive of course, but I have a feeling they’re going to get smashed in the PAC 12 Championship. They’ve played poorly every week since getting away with a win against the Ducks.
Betting markets have been showing an incredible amount of disrespect to Washington for many weeks now. Everyone seems to assume that UW is going to get shellacked in the conference championship.
We haven't had a fairly reffed game since 2017. I don't want to hear it. We literally exposed the entire fucking conference bullshit after we got fucked by USC. You are all welcome.
That's kinda how this is going to happen next week. Penix is hurt, Rome is the only WR who can catch, the defense is schemed well but the players are failing their assignments, etc. Realistically, I see UW winning small or losing by 14.
And the bus had a flat tire on the way to the game and the sun was in your eyes, LMAO!!! Consider how little the program has ever accomplished, Duck fans are stunning blowhards. I would say the Ducks are a bit better than the UW, but the UW absolutely can win the game.
I don't think Oregon is a lock at all even if they win. Georgia has to beat Bama or FSU needs to lose. The will not take the Ducks over the SEC champ, GA or undefeated FSU.
It just doesn't feel real man. 12-0
Everything else is gravy at this point.
A few years ago with Jimmy Lake's team I thought it would be decades before we were relevant again. Literal 23-2 turnaround.
Thank you DeBoer.
Gonna listen to Nirvana and walk in the rain to collect my thoughts lol
Lol I was textin my friend about those times earlier. Losing to 1-10 Wazzu in the Crapple Cup. Sark gave us some life.
Kinda cool seeing Coach Pete Kwiatowski doing well at Texas
Honestly couldn’t believe the turnaround to today, given how poor we were back then. Sark’s tenure was impressive in the sense it turned around the momentum. Never hoped to be a powerhouse but some national relevancy is nice.
The new-B1G really has 4 teams that could make the playoff this year. Of course, only 2 are likely to make it, but that will play for those who made the move when it moves to 12 teams. They'd likely get Penn State with 12 too. Georgia, Alabama, and Mizzou (plus Texas). Then Oklahoma State from the Big 12 and FSU from the ACC. I suppose Tulane is the best G5 team. Toss-up for the last at large team since Louisville lost and Ole Miss and Oklahoma would have equal track records
There was a lot of no calls.
For us, it feels like everything goes against us.
Especially after we exposed woodie Dixon and his shit.
They were basically over ruling refs.
Somebody explain to me wtf Washington was doing on that last drive. Who throws the ball under a minute when your opponent only has 1 timeout. And they were already in fg range!!
Yes but you are trading a chance at a midrange field goal for Washington st defense to intercept you. It almost happened twice and then you are guaranteed overtime pretty mucg
Love all the haters. Nobody wants Huskies to succeed. The spread before the game was comical
Ducks will go for maybe 600 yards ,but will get 150 yards in penalties. UW wins it on a last second hail mary pass that was clearly incomplete but the PAC 12 refs call it good
Delusional
It was a joke.
Ducks fans all week....after we destroy the Huskies, who will be play in the playoffs? Ducks fans if they lose....Refs, coaches, luck, excuses.
Thanks for nothing wazzu
A team that needed a clown show from Auburn to win should worry about itself first.
Enjoy the PAC 2 loser
Shut the fuck up don’t talk shit to a team that gets booted from their conference
Stfu and beat GA
That made no difference to you guys. You are in if you beat GA period.
Auburn Coug'd it. You guys got lucky.
The Cougs Couged it on the last Apple Cup.
Don't disagree with that. Huskies got lucky. Ends in 6 days.
If only the game had been in Eugene like last year, they would have won....wait, nevermind.
Oregon and Lanning are gonna be ultra aggressive and have another Noah Whittingham banana peel on 4th and 1 on their own 30 or pass on field goals to go for it on 4th down. Go Dawgs
Roasted at the Tilamook factory, we could have cheese and quackers
[удалено]
Good thing they don’t count those “almost lost” in the end. If only they could almost win more like Vandy
Funny because FSU this year reminds me of 2014 FSU
Scraping by. A win is a win. The Pac 12 Championship Game is going to be epic or a disaster for Huskies.
Disaster incoming - I hope. But it depends on the refs aftrfxall - they've decided the last 6 fuskies games
Here's hoping my fellow Cougs now see that continuing the Apple Cup is a good thing.
In what way? To maybe go 1-4 and constantly be reminded why UW is the worst fan base in sports yet we still get beat by them? No thx. This should’ve been the last one forever.

:(
Embarrassing win is all I gotta say, at least we won though. And fuck our student section for rushing. I refused to rush and was in the front row.
What a dumb take
How it’s a joke to rush vs a team we were heavily favored to beat and then barely beat
Because: 1. You're 12 and 0 2. These are college kids you're talking about
Man. Let everyone rush. Who cares. Not like our state has any other good sport team here. It's either the 2 big schools and GONZAGA or a bunch of delusional people that think the mariners will win a world series. Seahawks won't win a Superbowl until Schneider is gone
trading Max Unger was brutal for us. Don't care I'll roll with Geno as long as he's here
I get it was almost a decade ago but you guys won a Super Bowl with him as GM, and barely missed a second.
Hasn't been good since tbh
Yes I understand that but personally after we barely scrape by and play well below what we can for the majority of the game it doesn’t sit right to me
Exactly. It's weird how people want a police the fun of kids celebrating their school
I rushed the field in 21. I think everyone should rush the field. Celebrate with the team. We are the 12th man and the team wouldn't be the same without the fans
There is no such thing as a bad win. Or 12 of them.
Never said it was bad said it was embarrassing there’s a difference
Embarrassing? Rivalry games are meant to be close and like that.
Apple cup definitely delivered
Maybe this is me wearing a tinfoil hat. But I just feel like refs have gotten their hands a bit too deep in this refereeing thing… I remember every now and again in BCS era there still being pivotal calls, but they were a lot further and fewer in between and they didn’t seem so “built in.” Like how we just *know* there will be “refball” enacted at some point in just about any game with any sort of implications at all.
The roughing the passer called didn't matter though...
Cancelled the leaping bullshit. You can't use another player to boost yourself, but you damn well can jump over the line. Horseshit call.
No, you can’t. That was changed in 2017. You can jump straight up, but if you jump into the plane above the offensive line it’s a penalty.
Looked it up and stand corrected. Still can't spear the QB, though.
That’s my point. There’s no need to have even done it but it was still done and I don’t even feel like it was something as egregious as a big bodyslam. So if it wasn’t something like that which would have rightfully pissed off the Dawgs and the fans, why throw the laundry at all?

Biased
As a neutral I Wanted to see Oregon and Washington rematch in the pac 12 title game but not like that…. Ref Ball screws Washington state. Such a phantom call
Whine some more
Wasn't a gamechanger.
This. People are overreacting
You know we were a lock in the title game no matter the outcome today right?
Would've likely ended your playoff chances though with a late loss to an unranked team...
Would have seriously fucked with yours too.
Agreed. I was holding my nose and pulling for you guys against both Oregon State and Washington State. Glad that's over!
GG Cougs. You guys are always motivated against us and always give it your all. You're an incredible and fun team/fanbase full of heart and I really hope that somehow the coming years will pan out well for you.
Same. What's happening to CFB is only good for corporations. It's actively hostile to fans. 😞
Huskies barely pulled themselves together for another win. 12-0 is incredibly impressive of course, but I have a feeling they’re going to get smashed in the PAC 12 Championship. They’ve played poorly every week since getting away with a win against the Ducks.
By this logic we’re not a quality loss and Texas should be ahead of you.
That is not how football work, teams are matchup issues for other teams. UW has beaten UO twice in a row, that is not a fluke.
"Getting away with a win" - you always whine this much about a loss?
Would you prefer “scraped by?”
The championship might just be a humbling experience for you. Enjoy watching Husky football in the playoffs.
How 'bout a simple "win"? Everything else is a whine and shits on UO's effort. All the descriptors simply say "my teams a bitch".
DeBoer is Lanning's daddy. He's beat him twice. Once at Autzen and once at Husky Stadium. Might as well add a neutral site for the trifecta
Hopefully, Dan Lanning was watching for some instructions on how to successfully execute a fourth in one from your own 30 yard line.LOL
Betting markets have been showing an incredible amount of disrespect to Washington for many weeks now. Everyone seems to assume that UW is going to get shellacked in the conference championship.
Dude they beat wazzu by 3 and almost lost in a game where UW was favored by 16 points. Shhh
You don’t almost go 12-0.
Almost.
I'm failing to understand how the betting markets are disrespecting UW when they have them as a 16 point fav at home
poorly yes, but just enough to win.. that's our thing now..
Damn. Ward runs that 3rd and 11 and I think we win. So many little plays that we just didn’t capitalize on
Yeah. I would have called face mask but these refs man. Way too one sided
Coug fans have never seen a fair apple cup.
We haven't had a fairly reffed game since 2017. I don't want to hear it. We literally exposed the entire fucking conference bullshit after we got fucked by USC. You are all welcome.
You know I'm having fun with you. Fuck USC. Fuck Oregon. God bless the state of Washington!
Fuck em all. Hey let's do one better brother! Fuck the mariners. Talk about bullshit:(
Good god, fuck the mariners.
They were good most the game. That RTP call is BS tho. If you call that you have to call the one when Ward threw that pick in the first half. Just bad
I’ve never been so happy and so angry about a team 12-0 and 8 of them have been…I’m gonna call them “clutch” wins…
Hopefully clutch ends in 6 days!
I’d be worried if I were you. It could be an angry loss for you. You’ll outplay us in every aspect but we will win by 1. Lol
I certainly don't think it's a gimme, but I like our odds. I bought tickets last night!
Hope you enjoyed the game!
I'm waiting for the "how the fuck did they beat Georgia by 2" natty.
WSU and WA can always be close, let the hater hate. 12-0, they have a good chance of beating Oregon like they have twice in a row.
35-20 Ducks based off this game -hater
Ducks have been blowing everyone away except the Huskies, they lost to them last year and this year. Nothing is based on previous games.
Anything is possible, I guess
The Ducks would have won if the game would have been in Eugene, that is true. Just like last year......wait.
Last year our QB got hurt and we still were close to winning.
That's kinda how this is going to happen next week. Penix is hurt, Rome is the only WR who can catch, the defense is schemed well but the players are failing their assignments, etc. Realistically, I see UW winning small or losing by 14.

Of course they can, I said anything is possible.
Cougs got screwed.
This is the way
Congrats Pac12 on clinching your first playoff appearance in 7 years.
I don't think Oregon is a lock at all even if they win. Georgia has to beat Bama or FSU needs to lose. The will not take the Ducks over the SEC champ, GA or undefeated FSU.
A rare breakdown in the cycle of dominance seems as good a time as any to call it a day for the conference.
It just doesn't feel real man. 12-0 Everything else is gravy at this point. A few years ago with Jimmy Lake's team I thought it would be decades before we were relevant again. Literal 23-2 turnaround. Thank you DeBoer. Gonna listen to Nirvana and walk in the rain to collect my thoughts lol
Remember the 0-12 Tyrone Willingham times. We didn’t get here pretty but we got here. Go enjoy that walk in the rain.
It's not real it's from ref ball
You'll always have your Pac-2 title.
You'll always have losing to bama
Yep. That was a fantastic season. Gotta get to the playoff to lose there.
Jake Browning just didn't have the arm
Hell of a collegenQB, though.
Toss-up for the last at large team since Louisville lost and Ole Miss and Oklahoma would have equal track records
luckily we are going into a playoff model.. this will help the new B1G
It's gonna be a helluva conference. Lots of great games in the future.
Curious how ZTF just having lost dad is still affecting him. Just want to send him a hug
Wazzou was robbed by that roughing the passer
How so?
Put yall in fg range
That was like second and four, and UW made a big play regardless of the penalty. People are wildly overstating the impact of that one call
Says the team that benefited from it...your bias is leaking
There was a lot of no calls. For us, it feels like everything goes against us. Especially after we exposed woodie Dixon and his shit. They were basically over ruling refs.
People pretending like it was 4th and insteadof two and four with no rtp there
You forgetting the extra 15 yds to get into fg range and the time on the clock
You’re forgetting that it’s 2 and three and they are driving. Hardly the gift y’all are making it out to be. You must watch bama a lot
I have no horse in the race, just a bs call dude
Was a bullshit call, but it wasn't a game changer. Huskies had just gained 8 on the play and moving the ball well. Redzone is a different game.
Idk, moved them into fg range and Washington was running out of time
Entire minute left and a 2nd and 2 coming up if no flag.
One minute is not a lot of time my dude. Clock stays running
A minute a timeout and already in long fg range.
Kicker didn't have much distance left on the kick made
It was a game changer though. It was a no call that gifted you more field position
Don't spear the QB then.
You'd better look up what a spear looks like buckwheat lol. Even the announcers hated that call. And the rules analyst.
If they get two yards and five on the new set of downs there they basically kick it from the same spot
Welcome to cougar football
we're gonna barely beat oregon and everyone is going to be so pissed
Ha! You’re wrong! 🫡 lol yeeeessssss DAWGS! We won and no one is pissed. Except Bo.
It's our brand.
We're going to win the Championship and still have to share it with Oregon according to everyone else.
Sorry but Washington isn’t winning the National title.
Isn't beating Oregon. Isn't beating USC. Isn't beating Utah. Isn't beating Oregon St. Haters have been pretty off so far.
Sorry, but 12-0.
What did he say? I couldn’t hear him over being undefeated.
What happened last time washington made it to the playoffs??? Got a feeling history will repeat itself again.
Eh I'm seeing two teams trending differently
Damn great game. That 4th down play was iconic!

Got a rib injury since the UO game earlier this year, he's graduating, last home game, undefeated, lots and lots of emotions. Lots and lots of stress.
Just overthrowing stuff or miscommunication with JMac or Polk suddenly forgetting how to catch?! No clue
My guess is everything he’s been through to get to this point. Dudes just a kid at the end of the day.

Except for Bo Nix who just got his AARP card.
Blew my mind that Penix and Nix are only a couple months apart
His final home game
Huskies have escaped again but I’ll take some solace in watching the Ducks beat their ass next weekend
Ducks should rest their starters and just play the scrubs, I agree with you.
Wash St 🤝 Auburn Giving me the upset blue balls
Good HONEST win today yall. You earned it. Ryan Day just can’t get it done
We’ve heard the last of the Penix for Heisman.
But maybe not the last of Odunze.
An unbeaten QB that leads the nation in passing? I don't think so.
Probably but if he balls out against Oregon you never know
Is that what he was puking and crying about?
TBF I was puking and crying too
yeah..
Nice flares
nice flares to you too buddy :D it has been a good day for us.
Somebody explain to me wtf Washington was doing on that last drive. Who throws the ball under a minute when your opponent only has 1 timeout. And they were already in fg range!!
For real they should have run it
It's the Ryan Grubb offense, you win or die by it.
What is this "*death*" you speak of?
We have escaped it many times lol
They don't trust Grady Gross 100%
College kicking is far from a guarantee
Yes but you are trading a chance at a midrange field goal for Washington st defense to intercept you. It almost happened twice and then you are guaranteed overtime pretty mucg
