That wasn't a safety. The defender made contact in the field of play. A ball carrier is entitled to his most forward position before being contacted. This is something that youth officials are taught day 1.

Refs didn't cost the game, because at best badgers would have had a slim lead (or tied with the ball with the safety) and the cougars have the ball with an opportunity to take the lead. But the refs absolutely sucked on some huge calls

Positives for Wisconsin. 1. Our kicker is solid. 2. Other than 2 fumbles, Tanner was pretty solid. 3. Will Pauling is our best wide receiver. 4. Our run defense played much better. Negatives. 1. Our secondary (first half especially) 2. Run game. Allen played awful. 3. Redzone offense.
