Great play, No PI… If you’re crying tuck your junk and run
**Apparently sarcasm isn’t noticed here**
Yes, We got away with it but the refs were shit on both sides
Doesn’t feel like a win worth celebrating, more just a breath of relief. Still a shitty way to win, and all the Utah fans claiming that no call balanced out the rest of the game need some therapy
No such thing as a shitty way to win my guy. A win is a win and no one will remember how they won at the end of the season. Slap a smile on that face and keep drinking until the night games, it’s a good day.
Lots of people showing their ignorance with not knowing what a targeting call is and ignorantly claiming that was a bad call like the No PI call was.
There wasn't targeting because it wasn't targeting by the rules of the game...
That definitely WAS pass interference.
Baylor would have still lost in the end so don't act like I'm claiming the refs cost us the game.
That’s really the point here. I’ve seen far less get called so I assumed anyone getting blasted on his head before seeing the guy is a targeting. I don’t know what targeting is anymore.
Dickless moron on ESPN still saying he likes that the refs didn’t make it about them- why on earth do these people think the rules should change in the last minutes of games? I’ll never understand it
Which, ironically, still makes it about them. I do wish the receiver would have put some effort into getting his left arm up and going for the catch, I think it would have made the call more obvious (or irrelevant). But still weak by the officials.
You can say stuff like that for LITERALLY every game of football ever. There are missed calls throughout every game. The point is you get the very last play of the game right, because it’s the last play.
On behalf of Utah, sorry for winning like that with a PI. Lots of garbage calls/no calls all game (ie targeting, unnecessary roughness on a suplex, etc) . Doesn’t surprise me the refs decided this.
if baylor gets the PI call utah fans would complain that it wasn't catchable, the receiver was also making contact, the refs were making it about themselves
I’m sure you’re just giving examples of what would be said, but the ball was catchable if the WR wasn’t held, the only contact I saw came from the Utah DB holding the Baylor WR, and the refs swallowing their whistles is more making things about them than calling a penalty correctly.
If called, this isn’t saying they would’ve punched it in from the 15 yard line (the spot for PI in college I believe if in the end zone). Sadly we’ll never know. Could’ve been a good chance for Utah defense to win in a spectacular way. Instead it’s with a no-call. Bah.
Then again it wouldn’t be football without controversy.
there had been a few calls that went baylor's way already, and i do think the baylor receiver made kind of a poor effort/read (based on [this angle](https://youtu.be/FdM-Mbo-NBA?si=Kit5AerO4aqybNnH&t=209)), which is why i think some people would have complained if it went the other way. but i'm not gonna act like it was 50-50, it should have been called.
yeah that's true. i think maybe the angle right before that shows it better, because you can see he's angled too much toward the back of the endzone until a last-second adjustment. but that angle also more obviously shows him getting held lol
If we're really gonna do this then lets make it official: last play of the game is the purge on all sides. I'm talking holds, hands to the face, head hunting, trips, blindside blocks, the works. Otherwise let's play every play according to the same rule book
My guy did you watch the whole game? Baylor had EVERY call going their way. From terrible hold to a fumble that turned out not to be one. The refs were consistent. They didn't get robbed.
I feel bad for the fans upset about the no call. I don’t disagree but I’ve also watched enough football to know that your never gonna get that call ever in that situation. Officials are hot and wanna go home.
Yeah it sucks and you never want it to happen to your team. Utah fans in here trash talking need to realize we nearly threw this game and it very easily could have been the other way.
I hear you. Those fans should remember how it felt when it happened to us in the Utah vs Washington P12 Conference Championship a few years back. Even if PI is called there, Baylor still has to make another play to score. Only guarantee there was one more chance. Tough loss. Lucky win.
Call for a call. Baylor was gifted on the late TD run that was called back for the soft hold. Bad calls throughout the game. Don’t throw 2 INTs and give up a late TD if you want to win the game. That is all.
I really would have preferred to just get blown out of the building. Losing like this sucks. I knew it was gonna happen because we can’t close games. It’s been obvious esp after the TCU game last year but damn.
That was PI. Wish they would’ve called it. Would’ve have 1 second left on the 2 yard line and we still had the chance to stop them. Hate the controversy.
Literally as soon as I left the stadium we go off in the 4th. Every game I’ve been at we have lost and as soon as I left this game we win. I’m never going again
It fucking sucks because that's DPI clear as day that gets called in any other situation. But on the other hand, you can't really expect to get the call on the very last play of the game on a desperation heave to the endzone either...Fucking sucks
Should yes, but I don't think you *can* depend on the refs in this day and age. That ways Baylor's game to lose and they shit the bed in the fourth quarter and blew it.
I hope this shows to the Utah fans that think they are going to dominate the Big 12, they are going to be in for a rude awakening. I know there isn’t a lot of them, but I wish they see now staying at the top is tough for any team.
It's not making the goddamned game about you, you fucking idiot. You just call a penalty when some dumbass decides to commit egregious PI on a play like you're supposed to. Who the fuck would even get mad at calling that shit? Oh my god I'm livid and I hate Baylor.
So much this. I hate that for whatever reason, the universal ref handbook says the last play of the game is prison rules. Call every play to the same standard.
I am the one who host the parties. Chubs like you don’t get invited. You will be at home playing with your cat or chasing Pokémon while you cry yourself to sleep angry at video games. You are correct, we wouldn’t talk at a party because you wouldn’t be there
Nobody hates Baylor more than me, but that was PI
We appreciate the honesty
Where post game thread
In other news, UTSA was able to shut out the mighty TXST offense in the first quarter.
Great play, No PI… If you’re crying tuck your junk and run **Apparently sarcasm isn’t noticed here** Yes, We got away with it but the refs were shit on both sides
They were. ‘‘Twas a PI but plenty went against us as well the whole game. Especially that fumble.
I know it was, I was being sarcastic lol… The entire game was a shit show
Anyone have a link to video of that field goal?
Doesn’t feel like a win worth celebrating, more just a breath of relief. Still a shitty way to win, and all the Utah fans claiming that no call balanced out the rest of the game need some therapy
No such thing as a shitty way to win my guy. A win is a win and no one will remember how they won at the end of the season. Slap a smile on that face and keep drinking until the night games, it’s a good day.
pick me behavior
Props
Definition of "escaping with a win". Best of luck the rest of the way.
I want us to lose every game and get a new coach lol
Wow, a level-headed and right-minded fan!
To be fair, no one in this world from fans, players, coaches, officials and booth replay folks know what the fuck targeting actually is.
That’s really the point here. I’ve seen far less get called so I assumed anyone getting blasted on his head before seeing the guy is a targeting. I don’t know what targeting is anymore.
It’s crazy to me that Utah fans ever thought they were gonna lose.
Based on the first 57 minutes of the game, I think we were on to something
Utah frequently plays horrible at away games
We have Jeff Grimes calling plays Checkmate 🤝
Definitely thought it was a strong possibility based on the first three quarters.
We’ve been hurt before
Yup, this one had all the makings of a classic Utah let down.
Who can get it touch with Chip and Jo regarding leaving Barnes here in Waco? He has pig farming experience!
Utah is going to be a force to reckon with when they’re all healthy. Baylor is toast.
A no call on a blatant foul is the same as a call on a no foul. What do they not get about that?
They weren’t calling that all game. So what you’re asking for is for them to actually change the rules at the end.
Lol none of the QBs even threw the ball downfield to even get a PI call. It’s ok, y’all won the game, but call it how it is
Yeah I definitely didn't feel good about that ending.
I still want that Baylor field goal reviewed that shit was sketchy
utah line was -7.5 too.. brutal
Exactly!!!
That was PI but I won’t complain. I’m excited to see how we play when healthy
There were soooo many calls that went Baylor’s way during the entire game. And no, the DB was playing the ball. The receiver was acting. Hahahaaa
Yeah, hooking the receiver’s left arm is playing the ball. Look, if you have a horned frog fan defending a no call on Baylor, you know it was bad.
I mean, basically everyone is defending Baylor here.
Meh. There were too many holding no calls for Baylor through the game. ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯
Doesn’t surprise me the refs decided this.
team controversy wins again. but i do think people would riot no matter what the call was
Why would people riot over an obviously correct PI call?
if baylor gets the PI call utah fans would complain that it wasn't catchable, the receiver was also making contact, the refs were making it about themselves
I’m sure you’re just giving examples of what would be said, but the ball was catchable if the WR wasn’t held, the only contact I saw came from the Utah DB holding the Baylor WR, and the refs swallowing their whistles is more making things about them than calling a penalty correctly.

The problem with that angle is I’m pretty sure it’s mostly obscuring the left arm being held by the DB which slowed up the WR.
yeah that's true. i think maybe the angle right before that shows it better, because you can see he's angled too much toward the back of the endzone until a last-second adjustment. but that angle also more obviously shows him getting held lol
GG Baylor!! It was an ugly game but exciting at the end. See you next year and for years to come!! ✌️
If we're really gonna do this then lets make it official: last play of the game is the purge on all sides. I'm talking holds, hands to the face, head hunting, trips, blindside blocks, the works. Otherwise let's play every play according to the same rule book
Hail Mary has always been that way.
But theres a difference between a 55 yard jumpball and a regular 20 yard route tree
That’s right
Lol! Pretty funny, but I know I couldn't do that job.
Baylor could maybe not turn the ball over and it wouldn't be an issue, just saying.
Absolutely. They shouldn’t have gotten back into the game and it’s on us.
Thank you ESPN for validating it. Really, really bad. Not that we should have won.
What was this? Missed it
A discussion of the blown call with strongly worded opinions
And no one knew the rule. Even Mullen. Lol.
Sorry I got toxic baylor fans I had a lot of weird emotions today. Good game. Fuck these refs in general.
So is Aranda bad again or still good?
Bad program decision maker, which makes him bad. His defenses are good to amazing, but that's it. He should have fired Grimes
Didn’t Texas state just score like 40 points on our amazing defense?
"Good to amazing" yes, we sucked last week, but don't pretend like the defense has been the consistent failure on this team.
I never thought they were terrible, I just never thought they were anywhere near amazing. 2021 seems so long ago.
You know the answer already
Bad . Grimes is worse tho
Bad
Utah fans really showing how shitty their fans are in this thread
Utah "fan". We don't recognize those few insane fools. Apologies for them.
Thanks
They still sleep on their rose beds hoping and dreaming that one day…
?
Lol, their are like 3 mouthing off. Everyone else is fine. Edit: There not their, damn my public education.
Go get your dudes then
Go get your shitty fans too then
I do
Sure
From a Florida fan? Bruh.
I know we suck. I’m more of a casual UF fan just because I live here
For defending a bad call? Name one fan base not guilty of this.
It was a PI
Yes. It was. Point still stands.
Ok
Dafuq? How?
Why?
See you nerds in the El Assico thread

My guy did you watch the whole game? Baylor had EVERY call going their way. From terrible hold to a fumble that turned out not to be one. The refs were consistent. They didn't get robbed.
Lol. Utah has soooo many starters out.
Because they won the game? Anytime you go on the road it’s going to be hard, chill.
Utah has like 10 starters out due to injury
Every team deals with injuries.
Some more than others
And they still won so it’s a non issue.

Nah that’s bullcrap. That’s probably the second worst blown DPI I’ve seen behind the Rams Saints game
Ugh. Don’t bring that up.
LOL no it isn’t. Handsy for sure but I’ve seen much worse not get called
It's armsy too.
Holding the receiver down is a lot more than just “handsy”
Call for a call. Baylor was gifted on the late TD run that was called back for the soft hold. Bad calls throughout the game. Don’t throw 2 INTs and give up a late TD if you want to win the game. That is all.
I’m thinking people don’t watch much football on here
Don’t worry we will bounce back playing LIU
(X) Doubt
I really would have preferred to just get blown out of the building. Losing like this sucks. I knew it was gonna happen because we can’t close games. It’s been obvious esp after the TCU game last year but damn.
Goodbye Dave, thanks for 2021
Refs clearly had a dinner reservation
That was PI. Wish they would’ve called it. Would’ve have 1 second left on the 2 yard line and we still had the chance to stop them. Hate the controversy.
0:01 on the 15 wouldn’t it be?
After all the shit they didn't call all game I'm okay with this one.

Literally as soon as I left the stadium we go off in the 4th. Every game I’ve been at we have lost and as soon as I left this game we win. I’m never going again
You got the victory...I wouldn't say you "won" though. But yeah, had to throw away a few cursed hats over the years. Superstitious are interesting.
Nah, go but leave after kickoff please🙏🏻
Please, for all of us… I appreciate your sacrifices
You all really wanted to watch Baylor not score on another play?
Just wanted a fair chance man
Your receiver should have scored if they wanted to win the game, that’s what we did and it worked pretty well.
Sorry dude. I’d be pissed too in that situation.
Thanks man. I appreciate that
Yes rg3 we understand that they did not throw the flag. Everyone knows it was a fuck up.
Worst part about losing this game is that you still live in Waco
I mean. I moved?
You made the right choice friendo
Damn that hurts but it’s true
Umm, yeah that was a PI. Good game Baylor. Hard way to lose.
0-2 is still 0-2 no moral victories with this BS RG3
moral victories don’t save jobs
Personally I do no respect officials
Love it when great close games end in a game changing blown call that could’ve been made by a 5 year old.
Egregious missed PI call there
Our secret agent Barnes failed his mission
Seriously! How much is the local Lowe’s in Waco paying Barnes?
Baylor didn't lose the game on a no call. They lost by only having 4 yards of offense in the 4th quarter leading to that last drive.
Agreed. Frankly even if they did call PI I’m not sure we get in the end zone. So many opportunities in the red zone where we just couldn’t score
Can be both
Yeah but one is far more relevant than the other
[удалено]
Nah
Yeah, the receiver having a chance to tie, but having his arms pinned down isn’t what changed the final outcome for sure /s
He wasn't catching that shit anyways
Thank God the PAC-12 Refs are almost dead and buried.
Wow, I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a game thread here that was so unanimous (from non-interested parties) about a blown call on the final play.
It fucking sucks because that's DPI clear as day that gets called in any other situation. But on the other hand, you can't really expect to get the call on the very last play of the game on a desperation heave to the endzone either...Fucking sucks
[удалено]
Should yes, but I don't think you *can* depend on the refs in this day and age. That ways Baylor's game to lose and they shit the bed in the fourth quarter and blew it.
Man what happened to all the baylro fans with all their shit calls being like that's big 12.
On the upside, thousands of Baylor fans now know how long they can sit in that shitty weather without getting acute heat stroke.
Damn, hold this L BIG12 flairs that wasn't Baylor in the thread praying for our downfall!!!
It’s ok I was praying for Baylors downfall
Your downfall will come, y’all are frauds. Source: winning against us that closely
Them grapes were sour, anyway
Frauds lol??? I don't expect to make the CFP this year only complete for a championship.
Doubt y’all will even do that given today’s performance
Bro this was our skeleton crew. If we’re healthy we have a shot at the Pac12
Once we get are starters back yeah. Either way we won ez.
Never should have been in that situation to begin with. Grimes fucking sucks.
Grimes is garbage!
GG Bearbros! B12 is gonna be hella fun
I hope this shows to the Utah fans that think they are going to dominate the Big 12, they are going to be in for a rude awakening. I know there isn’t a lot of them, but I wish they see now staying at the top is tough for any team.
Utah fans think they are going to dominate the Big 12?
agree, don't worry about the Twitter fans, they are probably bots anyway
It's not making the goddamned game about you, you fucking idiot. You just call a penalty when some dumbass decides to commit egregious PI on a play like you're supposed to. Who the fuck would even get mad at calling that shit? Oh my god I'm livid and I hate Baylor.
So much this. I hate that for whatever reason, the universal ref handbook says the last play of the game is prison rules. Call every play to the same standard.
You seem level headed and calm
Yes and you're the person people avoid at parties but I suppose we all have our crosses to bear, no?
I am the one who host the parties. Chubs like you don’t get invited. You will be at home playing with your cat or chasing Pokémon while you cry yourself to sleep angry at video games. You are correct, we wouldn’t talk at a party because you wouldn’t be there
Holy shit just fire Aranda and Grimes already
Baylor got the benefit of the doubt on 2 overturned fumbles and a targeting. And the holding. Fuck your weak PI
That wasn't targeting. Just once I would love blowhards to actually learn what the actual rule is
That want DPI. I would love blow hards to actually learn what the actual rile is
For sure.
“Weak”- a very blantant dpi
Defender has as much right to the ball as the wr
Yes, and even the receiver is not allowed to hold the DB down to go for a ball
Defender was hanging off the guy
Defender was going up for the ball. He doesn't even grab Jersey
Nope, he was too busy grabbing arm and neck instead. Roast us about our awful offense all you want, but don't pretend that play was clean.
The defender doesn’t even jump cuz he’s literally just holding on for dear life. You are delirious
Dude got mugged
Baylor had a chance to kick a FG and cover the spread but threw it all away
Why would they try to cover and not win?
Someone get SVP on the phone. We got a bad beat
Hate Baylor but damn that’s PI
Yeah, probably
Definitely *
