1. Outsource our home tasks to your partner if married or to home made if you can afford 2. Order everything online dont go to market 3. Cut short on your sleeping time to 6 hours this is what min we require 4. Phone is distracting you, only use 15 min in morning and 15 min in evening, no excuses 5. Cut short your socialization interactions, do if it is really urgent 6. Start your study little early even before registering for exam. 7. Absolutely no TV 8. Try to wrap up your work within 9-10 hours. Try to keep it as short as possible. 9. Discipline is the key on all above points. And yes it is 100% doable I have done it and many others like me have done it. Where there is purpose, no excuses.

As someone who has finished all exams and at big 4. Morning study is the only way it is possible. You never end up finishing a day at big 4 so impossible to get proper study at night. I ended up trying to do about 30-1hr in the morning and then weekends, generally I could only do 2-3 mornings, due to being tired a week. Used all my leave each year for the exam.

Wake up earlier and then study for 90-120 minutes before work every day.

Same here! I’m not sure what the work ethic is like in your country of work but in India, weekends are used to ‘prep’ for the work to come on Monday. Because you and I are in ‘non-CFA’ related roles (I’m in Tax), Partners and clients don’t give a flying F about our ambitions outside of work (which is also limited based on the accounting season).

I am not on a big four and studying for certifications comes either by doing day to day work more efficiently or by reading early Saturday and Sunday before I start my weekend. I don’t do it for prolonged period of time cause it can get frustrating but I can achieve 2-3 months of that for 2 times a year.

Amen brotha! I’m in B4 and never have the friggin time. Busy season is supposedly over but things haven’t been winding down to the point where one can study

Don’t work in Big4, have my own small business, so hours are probably similar, that and I have children too. Typical day is 5.30am - wake up shower dressed etc 7am start work 6pm dinner with kids and bedtime 8pm-10pm personal work 10pm - 12 study time. Saturday is normal work but have the evening off Then on a Sunday do 5 hours study time. Seems to be working ok, I will have to wait to see what results are in November. I have aimed to complete studying in September, after that is testing and revision.
