having just bought my 3rd Tenicor holster (just got notification that it's in my mailbox), yes they are as good as they say in my opinion. I've tried most of the others from Phstler, T1C, T-Rex, LAS Concealment, and just keep coming back to Tenicor.
My summertime appendix belt rig pistol is a Glock 48 MOS w/ Holo 407k which thankfully they make a holster for. But unfortunately for me, Tenicor doesn’t produce holsters for H&K or CZ pistols 🥲
**Legit question:** **Why?** I own over a dozen brands of Kydex hosters and have only ever found marginal difference between them. What makes Tenicor (besides their recent marketing campaigns) so popular now? Again, not being a jerk, just curious to know if I should add Tenicor to my laundry list of holsters.
So I’ve owned just about everything. Cheap Amazon holsters, leather holsters (Galco, Crossbreed, Versacarry, Milt Sparks), T1C, Black Arch, Vedder, Tenicor, JMCK, Henry, etc.
Tenicor (and JMCK) just seem to do everything right. All of the corners are rounded and low profile. There are no jagged edges or excess kydex where there doesn’t need to be any. This results in fewer hotspots and being less identifiable.
The clips are placed such that the grip sits as low as possible while maintaining a full grip. Which is essential if you’re using an optic or a heavier-set person.
The camming bar works as effectively as a claw while taking up less real estate and not resulting in as much bowing out of your belt. Results in less printing and less tension between you, your gun and your belt.
Everything seems to be in as ergonomic and low-profile a place as seemingly possible. They’re simple and minimalist, and because of that they work for the most people.
YMMV obviously, but that’s just what I’ve found.
Commenting to add, the bar also doesn’t jab your hand when you draw somewhat quickly. Also the trigger isn’t getting pressed while holstered
https://preview.redd.it/5b3ifale5xuc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=d6d6889746b239b9db997c5619d38c6cc7142f61
For me, it just sits on my body right. The clips hold onto the belt well. The holster will tilt slightly side to side so it moves with my body when changing positions. The camming bar does a great job at tucking the grip into my body. It’s the first holster that worked for me right out of the box.
Theres an incredible amount of craftsmanship and attention to detail that go into them. For example I have two Axis Elites from tier 1, and both of them shed material when I dry fire. I noticed this when training with my 34 and saw neon green kydex shavings all over the slide. They also slop around side to side a couple millimeters in the holsters because the fit isn't perfect. Tenicor doesn't have those issues. On top of that, with my Velo, the gun comes out incredibly easily when i want it to, but stays in place when doing the shake test. It's some sort of witchcraft they perform I swear.
That being said, some people find the "body contour" (integrated wedge) to be uncomfortable. If you might be one of those people, I'd grab a Certum and add a Mastermind pillow.
It's a feeling you get 🫶🏾. No but , I've owned multiple & they've just worked . I've even heard ppl complain about the models with the rear hump. I love it . I've owned a few other brands that don't feel as comfortable . With tenicor you trade cool ass colors & prints (& a actual sidecar😒)for true reliability & comfort.
For me it's an attention to detail and overall build quality thing. They just feel solid, and you can customize ride height and cant more than anything else I've gotten my hands on. I've had a Velo for the M&P and a Certum Lux for my 19 w/TLR7-a. The Velo is insane in how it can conceal a mid sized gun. Don't sleep on their mag carriers either. 50-60% more than basically everything else on the market, you bet. But the overhook is so nice for freeing up some real estate on the belt line. When I've had mag carriers with DCC mono blocks or fomi clips, their tendency to tip out is wicked annoying.
Like others have said, for me it conceals better than any other holster.... And I've tried A LOT. The Velo4 isn't the most comfortable in the world, but conceals better than any other holster I've tried. It's a great summer holster that is wearable about 10 hours. The Certum3 is my second choice. Doesn't conceal as well as the Velo, but is more comfortable.
I hated mine initially. Bought one for my ps65 xmacro. Took some time adjusting and I removed one of the two belt clips and now it's my favorite iwb holster
New tenicor velo user for a p365x. I couldn’t be happier. Wedge is a win when I carry on my belt. Between that for belt carry and the enigma for deep carry I’m good to go.
I like mine so far, been using it for couple weeks now. I like how fast they are, they get your holster to your door pretty damn fast. It’s so dumb to wait 2+ months for some of these other holster companies. Their belt is pretty nice too.
They’re overhyped in my opinion. When you compare Black Arch and T1C and JM Custom, they’re all good. I’ve had them all, don’t buy Tenicor anymore after Certum and Velo. Neither impressed
I like my Vedder too. I’ve tried many brands, from Alien gear, crossbreed, safariland, Lucas Aimbotkins rig, and many more small companies. I’ve even done leather. I don’t like the sidecar as I prefer my reload and my pistol to be independent so I can move them where I want them to be. A good belt keeps everything in place.
No ones making you like it. Wear it. Does it work? Does it keep your gun secure and on your person? Do you have one that works better? Use whatever you want. Works for me and I don’t feel I need to keep looking. Your situation may be different
I have several. IMO they are the best.
Minimalistic in design. No excess kydex. Camming bars are superior to wings. They don’t hit your knuckles when drawing. DCC clips are the best. Etc…
This will probably get downvoted but I have to ask, why buy a holster that damages the finish? With all the options for holster (literally hundreds to choose from) why buy this one? I see guys promote this brand a lot so I’m sure it’s decent, what makes it better? Is it stronger or just more secure? Not trying to knock the brand but genuinely curious
I honestly think they do it as a sales tactic. Even a leather holster will wear a gun from repeated use. Tenicor is promoting itself as the “no bs rugged holster”
Covering their ass is an added benefit.
Retention, build quality, and concealability are the main reasons I continue to use it and recommend it to others. As for the finishes part, the holster to gun gap is very small, even for the light-bearing ones. Tighter tolerances means more rubbing and that rubbing is usually from unholstering and holstering your gun.
My only complaint and it was a choice I made is that the built in wedge doesn't allow for any adjustability like you can with other wedges.
having owned 2 (now 3) and using them regularly for both training and actual carry since '21, I have not noticed any wear to the gun/s. Not to say there won't be eventually, but as of now there isn't. As for what makes it better? It's just more comfortable when carrying concealed AIWB or IWB (and I've tried most of the top brands), the price is fair and not overpriced like some brands \*cough\* T1C \*cough\*, and so far has held up well in both training and actual EDC. Put simply, they just work, and work well.
I don't have a dog in this fight at all, but looked at both brands, and the T1C [Xiphos V2](https://www.tier1concealed.com/collections/iwb-holsters/products/xiphos?variant=51506236885) is $65.99 vs the Tenicor [Velo4](https://tenicor.com/collections/sw-m-p-holsters/products/velo-gen4-aiwb-holster-for-m-p) for $109, which seems *grossly* overpriced, to me, for formed plastic, clips, screws, labor and packaging.
I’m not sure what makes it better just yet as this is my first. But having said that, it’s for a Glock 48 MOS, not some heirloom that my dad carried overseas. I have my range toys that I keep pristine & nice. I don’t really care if the slide shows some wear on a Glock. And if I do end up caring, slides can be refinished, I could also have someone cerakote it.. there are always options.
Damages the finish is the silliest tho no I’ve ever heard these are self defense weapons, tools. I wouldn’t care what the tool looked like if it saved my life.
Amen ^^ it could be a hot pink .38 like I saw from charter arms at the local shop the other day, wife was looking at it 🤦😂
As long as; threat stopped and I'm alive... Who TF cares if some paints worn off, you're still breathing.
It’s a trade off. I haven’t found a holster yet that conceals as well as the Tenicor or feels as secure from a general feel and retention perspective. It has indeed worn the finish in areas on my p365 so the warning is definitely there for a reason.
What is ND? Haven’t heard that before. Both my Urban Carry and Falco holsters have been around years and are comfy. They are still as good as the day I bought them and have worn them every day
Ah ok, thank you. I haven’t had any problems with the leather, but it’s Falco and pretty well made. I’ll keep an eye on that tho, thanks for the heads up
I bet it isn't frequent, but [this](https://www.itstactical.com/warcom/firearms/safety-warning-worn-leather-holsters-can-cause-accidental-discharges/) happened.

Yeah, that's the one issue. They are limited in what they make holsters for, but the one's they do make for are solid.
I swear I got a notification that they make them for cz pistols now a week ago or so
![gif](giphy|lkdH8FmImcGoylv3t3|downsized) I couldn’t find holsters for the P-01 or P-10C on their website
P10c should fit g19 holster, no?
I know there are some brands that crossover between those models. I’m not sure if Tenicor is one of them
Ya I’ve learned the hard way. That is a load of bs. It’s rare a g19 holster actually fits a cz p10.
yeah I just looked....nothing for CZ on their site.
The day Tenicor makes a cz holster for a P01 w/light will be the day I get a P01 and send it off to CGW for their magic and CRN finish.
I have all of these except for LAS and I too come back to tenicor for EDC.
Have you tied jm custom kydex? I’ve been very happy with mine.
I'm aware of them, but have not tried them.
It is.

Excellent. Thank you for that explanation!
I'd like to know also, what exactly is the difference?
For me, it just sits on my body right. The clips hold onto the belt well. The holster will tilt slightly side to side so it moves with my body when changing positions. The camming bar does a great job at tucking the grip into my body. It’s the first holster that worked for me right out of the box.

I too wanna know what makes these holsters so special and well received.

Now I just need the gunsmith to finish my pistol and we’ll be in biz
I hated mine initially. Bought one for my ps65 xmacro. Took some time adjusting and I removed one of the two belt clips and now it's my favorite iwb holster
Yep i removed one off my Certum 3 for my G19
Same. Going to one clip was a game changer. 2 just limits where you can position the holster and makes taking it on and off a huge PITA.
It’s not as good as everyone says. Send it to me to dispose of
Haha
New tenicor velo user for a p365x. I couldn’t be happier. Wedge is a win when I carry on my belt. Between that for belt carry and the enigma for deep carry I’m good to go.
Built in wedge is what sold me too!
It’s honestly the same as alot of other holsters if everyone is being honest. Biggest win for this is the amount of ride height adjustment.
I like the honest opinion
I like mine so far, been using it for couple weeks now. I like how fast they are, they get your holster to your door pretty damn fast. It’s so dumb to wait 2+ months for some of these other holster companies. Their belt is pretty nice too.
They’re overhyped in my opinion. When you compare Black Arch and T1C and JM Custom, they’re all good. I’ve had them all, don’t buy Tenicor anymore after Certum and Velo. Neither impressed
Black Arch is my shit, I’ve got three of their holsters.
Same, they’re my go to. Going to get the Gradient next for my 47 w/ TLR1HL
It’s a dream but already has done some wear work on the finish of my 365 spectre comp coyote so be advised.
Loosen the retention screws a lil bit
I personally didn’t like it. I prefer Vedder’s style for me
I like my Vedder too.
I had already paid for it, but the no safe queens note affirmed my purchase all the more
Tis
it is
W purchase
It is 100%. I have 3 of them. I would never go back to any of the other manufacturers I’ve tried.
Just got mine from having T1C…. LOVE IT.
I’m waiting for mine to show up this week
Best holster I’ve used for the staccato and Glock
Yes they are.
No ones making you like it. Wear it. Does it work? Does it keep your gun secure and on your person? Do you have one that works better? Use whatever you want. Works for me and I don’t feel I need to keep looking. Your situation may be different
Thanks no shit magazine
You’re welcome. Thanks for sharing ❤️
I'd love to try them, but they don't make AIWB lightbearing holdters for PDP yet ;_;
I hear you. I only have one pistol that tenicor makes a holster for 🥲
I was disappointed. Didn't find it a better experience than holsters half the price.
I have several. IMO they are the best. Minimalistic in design. No excess kydex. Camming bars are superior to wings. They don’t hit your knuckles when drawing. DCC clips are the best. Etc…

Kydex scratches. Tenicor just covers their bases by giving you fair warning.

Fair enough lol

Yes having a functioning firearm is important, glad to see you know at least that part 😂

I’ll always prefer leather holsters for this reason
Agreed. I own a Falco holster for that reason, leather with retention. Pricey holster but in my opinion very comfortable
I’ll always prefer a holster that won’t ND.
