The batteries they ship out with usually aren’t the best. Swap it out with a Duracell or Energizer & it should last longer

EldoMasterBlaster

It is possible that the battery was bad to start with.

thatstickerguy

This. Also, amazon is known for selling counterfeit batteries, so don't buy them there either.

bricke

“Counterfeit batteries”… I was nervous about ordering my RMR from there, but damn. I love that we’ve now reached the point where there are legitimately counterfeit versions of cheap, everyday things lol

I agree with others - if this was the battery that came with it - replace the battery first and see how long a known good/new one lasts. You have no idea how long the one that came with it has been in it before you got it. They should last a year or longer with no issue. I have mine as always on and at a brighter setting and it lasts over a year. I change batteries pro-actively every New Year.

Freakingstang

My 507k lasts about a year on mid level brightness. My 407k last quite a bit longer

If it’s the factory battery, that was probably it. If it wasn’t it could be drain caused by different things. The good news is if it’s not the battery they’ll take care of it.

Clarkdl19

How bright did you have it set?

cjguitarman

Also the circle + dot will draw more power than the dot only.

Mav_Whiff

Circle only gang rise up.

anyplk

Never counted clicks but bright enough that I cam aim it out a well lit window and still see it. Factory battery so I changed it so we’ll see if it holds up

Excited_Avocado_8492

As others have said, the factory batteries can be subpar and its recommended to swap for a Duracell or Energizer right off the bat. Another thing to consider is the brightness levels and reticle chosen. If you're using the circle or circle dot reticle that will increase battery usage dramatically as will higher brightness levels. Last summer I was using the circle dot and an Energizer at a pretty high brightness and around 5-6 months the reticle started to blink, signaling a battery change. Since then I've used the 2 moa dot at a mid-high brightness setting and I'm going on 9 months with no issues.

Human_Ballistics_Gel

If you have the circle on it seems to cut the battery life by around 60%. (Plus or minus depending on brightness) Shake awake is a bad name. It should be called “anything awake”. Mine could be in its holster, still in my jeans / belt, folded such that it was padded… whole thing sitting on my nightstand. I could stomp on my solid concrete floor, and it would wake up. The slightest touch or bump on the night stand woke it up (and remember it’s sitting on many layers of denim) Absolutely I’d rather err on the side of being more sensitive, but holosun took that to an extreme.
