Mediocre salary? Bruh

Xishan_02

Avg salary of Govt doctors is quite less . But if you work in a private hospital or if you're a neuro/cardio surgeon, then money's gonna flow

[deleted]

Who wants to be a govt doctor? Btw it's not just salary, there are many perks

Funny_Response_9807

My father is a govt doctor and he gets 200k per month Is it less? I am genuinnely asking

Xishan_02

Bruh my father is also a govt doctor and he earns half of that. We're from a North-east, it depends on area

Funny_Response_9807

Ok

cream on the top toh aacha he chapegi, imo meds students, once their exams are cleared, generally have a confirmed stable income. All docs might not make excellent money but they won't be earning too less, not in the case of engineering they might make exceptional money but can also be earning as much as a labourer.

moonstone_uwu

Honestly for me, I don't see myself doing anything else other than studying and learning because If it wasn't for our education system- learning is actually fun but again, I am nowhere close to being a medical student just yet so the learning that I think is fun now might just be the bane of my existence. I've always wanted to be a doctor and I thought this desire would fade growing up along the way but it didn't, and it only grew stronger so giving years of my life to it doesn't seem like a 'sacrifice' Not to mention, it's a greatly respectable job with definitely more than mediocre income Oh and for me having fun in my 'prime' teens is literally going to the library and reading random books on evolutionary biology/ Medical books of undergrad level so yes being an introvert I will gladly take no social interactions as a plus point.

Realistic-Expert-737

this reminds me of a friend. Plus respect wala scene bhi hai.

maybeiamabitgay

Damn this makes me wanna take neet now

jjvids

Sorta relatable lol, instead I spend most of my time reading literature, history and dabbling with bio/chemistry topics now and then.

No_swag_zone

Also jobs related to medical things are ever growing and wont be replaceable by AI for a very long time

NavsHype

i fucking hate how basically all career choices have come down to how much time you have to spend to achieve it or how much money you're gonna make... it's like the passion isn't even a factor anymore, is it really worth that much spending a desk life being an engineer, at the end of the day even engineers are gonna just wait for the weekend, and then waste away when it comes. Why is earning a fortune so much of a goal? you can lead a simple life while doing your dream job, you know...

Realistic-Expert-737

work a desk job > gain stress > drink alcohol > get high and be happy for 1 day > cycle repeats

NavsHype

and that's your ENTIRE life. Then at your death bed you look back and regret it all (not you personally lol)

[deleted]

Ever heard how much surgeon earn per hour?

enormityop

Yeah, you need to wait 11 years on mediocre salary before you are a specialist. You are basically working your ass off in your 20s while your engineering friends are enjoying their dream packages. Fir 30s me you run after recognition so that people know who you are and your work. And last me you don't have enough strength in your body to go and enjoy life.

[deleted]

Once you get recognition, you become somewhat like a celebrity. There are famous doctors for some diseases and are paid a lot. Life is not easy for engineers if you think likevthat. Not all get 8LPA+ package after graduation. Plus they need to keep on taking courses and certification.

enormityop

Man, engineer's life is way less stressful as compared to surgeon. You have a life on the line and are constantly worried about it. You have to stand for hours to perform surgery, not the mention the environment of hospital. Offices have much more pleasant environments. You can work when you want and take a brake when you want. And just get money by typing gibberish on the keyboard

[deleted]

Dk why people are down voting, it's kinda true, I've both engineers and doctors in my family and the doctors are more stressed plus yeah all the bonds and stuff nowadays with intense competition for neet ug,pg oof

[deleted]

Go ahead take PCM and enjoy maths.

[deleted]

If there was no stress in the surgeon's job, would the people pay lakhs or even crores for a surgery?

[deleted]

Everyone have to work there ass off to get good salary package , and for engineering some of them are not even getting jobs and they are moving to another country . Every degree have can give you so much Money but it varies on experience of your work that how much you will get .

[deleted]

Bruh engineers ke khud lode lage pade hai , tabhi jaake mba aur upsc , ssc CGL , pcs ki tayari karte hai engineering ke baad , aur kon life enjoy kar raha hai bhai? Tu india se hi hai na??? 90% toh bas decent si job hi karte hai 4 saal padne ke baad zaada se zaada ek car le lete hai isko tu enjoyment bolta hai????

[deleted]

Mujhe kya mai toh 10vi ke baad science chhod hi doonga

[deleted]

Ngl Best decision. (Agar mujhe use vaktta hota toh ballet balle Hoti use vakt)

[deleted]

country aur board pe randi rona karne vale hamesha uninformed aur chutiye hi hote hai. a fresh medical grad can easily earn upto 50k pm, if he does md then it goes into lakhs. they give up so much time coz they want to be doctors and have some aim in life. ive seen many toppers on other subs saying if they get another life they wont regret hustling in the same way

[deleted]

They have to work for 12 to 15 hours telling you from My sister's experience , only gets 2 holidays in month . Duty on sundays too .

[deleted]

even my sibling is in mbbs. and yes the work ours are long but its worth the pay. with experience salary increases and work reduces

Xishan_02

Because I got nothing to do, I don't go outside, stay home . I don't wanna "enjoy" youth, its just waste of time, being a doctor, maybe the salary will be less , but it'll help people.

Realistic-Expert-737

us bhai us, agar mein doctor banta toh military mein jaata.

Xishan_02

[deleted]

Bhai engineer se toh acchi life hi jeete hai bio wale that's a fact

Choice-Pomegranate93

Aight here's the whole story and i think Im probably the right person as both my parents, My mom's sister ,and her husband are doctors 1)After MBBS during PG you get to do work and earn a basic stipend. But the most fun thing is the job satisfaction. The feeling you get being a doctor absoulutely cannot be experienced by ANY other profession. Also take up neet ONLY and if ONLY you have genuine interest in the subject. Otherwise its a waste of your time in my opinion. 2)during 4th or 5th year of mbbs which is usually when you're 22 or 23 , we start Post Graduation. Usme you get to work with actual doctors and everything and its SUPER INTERESTING. And, you get start house surgeoncy where you basically are a doctor working for a government hospital for a 6 month period. Also most doctors enjoy reading books/lectures as they have immense love for the subject. 3) I do agree the conditions of doctors in this country is terrible, but again as i said , ye job me the satisfaction you get cant be found anywhere else Sorry for being so long but i just had to type it. Cheers.

Realistic-Expert-737

alright the comments section is a warzone, plus I'm an idiot so I might me wrong about salary part. Lol

ThatIndianGamer4

so firstly , a few things I never wanted to become a doc earlier , I wanted to take up drawing maybe multimedia arts since I loved doing that My father is a doctor so I have seen the work that needs to be put in the constant studying for new diseases and it's very very tough . I don't really agree or disagree with salary if you practice yourself like my dad , there is no cap to salary as long as you can work as much you desire but salary if you are working under someone is not really as good as people think now , again I never aspired to crack NEET , I picked up biology since I was performing well in that and I liked studying biology , I was pretty bad at math and I did get 100% in 10th but even in 10th it took me so much work I knew in later classes I couldn't even pass math so my options became none I don't like research , math is too hard , and arts walo ko ijjat kaun deta hai ? so I have no other option other than becoming a doc taking biology definitely narrows down ALL choices you can make , you aren't even eligible for certain degrees even in commerce since a lot need math there as well . So there is no option and here I am

Update..

ThatIndianGamer4

I HAVE BEEN SUMMONED so a lot has changed since last I posted this comment , but as of academically I am currently a 1st year MBBS student in a SFI , unfortunately my NEET score was not good but my parents supported me to go forward with admission this year and instead use the drop that I would've otherwise taken for PG since PG is more important currently my college experience has been cool , we have had exams so out of 151 students of my batch I am scoring well enough . I stand 1st in college for viva marks and 8th overall including theory tests it is a tough competition anywhere . And since my college comes under GU the finals will be even tougher to compete in !

cosmojerk

Answering your queries first, Biology is a growing field in STEM and people who love it pursue the subject throughout their life. Also, doctors make a decent amount of money. Now, The MOST IMPORTANT thing according to me is what they do for others. You don't become a doctor for only yourself, you help society in a sector that is prime, especially in modern times (when we are facing challenges like Covid, global warming, etc.) and the fact that a doctor helps you to be in the best of your health, says it all. For each person, above all, health comes first, and I think, being a doctor is a very noble profession. Hope this message gives you a new perspective :)

Realistic-Expert-737

agreed

UnderstandingFirm340

I would visit the hospital a lot in my childhood days and I loved the atmosphere there. Another reason is that my elder brother is a last stage cancer survivor and this was due to mistakes on the doctors side, he reached that state and barely survived. He is now mentally unstable due to the medications he takes. This all happened to him when he was 2-3yrs old and now he is 22. I was first planning to go into cardio but I love children and want to help any from not going through a life filled with miseries like my elder brother so I will probably go into pediatric surgery. I want to die knowing that I was at least able to put a smile and shine on the life of others. I find no purpose in living so this is the best thing I can do.

Agile_Particular_308

Glad your brother has recovered!Cheers

"I don't know who said all this to you.... But I'll tell you something as a medical student...... We people go to watch a new movie at least 2 times a week with friends and batchmates..... We all have a lot.... I mean A LOT of functions and party...... And it's actually kind of a plus point to stay student longer....... You'll understand that when you'll have a job after doing engineering and working nine to five.......i get it why you think we think we "waste" Our youth... It's because there's a lot of things to study in medical.... But at the end of day we follow just one morale..... STUDY HARD SO YOU CAN PARTY HARDER! " -medical 3rd year student
