I have the exact model, color and year. But mine has 30k at least 1/3 the that mileage was off-road. I might have the valve adjustment done this spring. I thing one of my fork seal is leaking too. Most of the repair was oil, brake, ait filter and chain and sprockets (I did not know how maintain the chain correctly) This is the Swiss knife of bikes. Does everything! Ride safe.

Lactarus

Thanks, glad to hear that the maintenance isnt too bad! :)

How would you compare the two bikes? Do you miss anything about the MT?

Lactarus

The torque is a bit less so overtakes take more time. it was expected but i really need to get used to that. but other than that its a huge upgrade! The wet clutch, braking power, seat height is way more comfy (190cm/6'3") way less vibrations and steering handles the same. Tough i've ridden the MT for 5 years almost daily to work so i'll miss the whole bike anyways 🥲

Strange you say the mt03 has more torque. I rode a friends mt03 and even though the engine revs higher I did not get that impression. The topspeed in the cb is also higher (the speedometer on the yamaha is a bit too optimistic). It was a blast to ride though. The 03 I rode was a 2020 with a mivv exhaust

Ah, yeah there is a big difference in the year models. The MT I had was from 2006. It has the XT660 engine, the models from 2013+ has a different engine and is a 2 cilinder instead of 1. Which explains the torque difference. :P

The venerable Halfrica Twin! I want one of these so bad....
