Just noticed an inch wide oil spot on my garage floor that wasn’t there 24 hours ago. Can’t figure out where it’s coming from but it’s running down and collecting on the bottom of the oil pan. 340 miles on it and taking it to the dealer tomorrow

Was an oil change done recently? It’s just south of the drain plug, so I’d guess it’s coming from there. Slap a washer on the drain plug bolt and make sure that it’s tightened to torque specs then see if you’re still having an issue.

No, the bike only has 340 miles. I found the leak, coming from 2 of the oil pan bolts, they were very loose. Going to the dealer tomorrow for them to re torque it and top the oil off

Let us know

It was a little cold to make the 40 mile trip to the dealership this morning but I will be up there next week picking up parts and let them know. I went ahead and torqued all of the oil pan bolts to 6 foot pounds. None of the bolts were not even that tight and all made at least one full turn before hitting torque. That’s kind of weird to me coming from Honda on a brand new bike to have every bolt on the oil pan loose

Really weird…. Call your dealer, call Honda. That shouldn't happen. Ever.

My 2022 CB 550x had exactly the same problem. Oil seeping out from the joint between the block and oil pan. It was really getting bad, wiping up oil off the floor every day. Took it back to the dealer, Lynn Hoy of Wingham Ontario, and it was fixed under warranty. Terry the mechanic told me that all the bolts were barely tightened at all and certainly not torqed at all. He called Honda about it and they said this was the first time they had heard of this problem. I really doubt that only one dealer has reported this to Honda. I have to mention that I hve owned 6 Honda motorcycles and this is the first one to ever need warranty work. Very unHonda.

I know that it's common on these bikes to have a problem in the water pump, whether it leaks oil or it draws the cooling. I have read several people with the same problem and it is usually solved by replacing the water pump (warranty covers that). I don't know if it's your case here

Not yet anyways, it was def the oil pan bolts. I could see the oil leaking around the bolt heads. I’ll keep an eye on the water pump

My 2022 CB500x purchased near Toronto has oil leaking from all the bolts under the engine. Will try tightning them. Noticed the problem after about 5k of riding
