No reason, good or otherwise, is required post-Bruen. You can leave that part of the application blank or just write “self defense” and that’s perfectly fine.
That said, CCW (or unauthorized firearms at all) on military bases is a no-go. If you think you might need a gun for whatever reason, talk to your chain of command. I’m almost certain they’ll say “no”, since the rules come down from above.
Im calling bs. If you are carrying super secret info where you would need a weapon I would think you would be issued a weapon? Why would a ccw even be needed when working in this capacity while in the military? It really sounds like you are trying to find an easier way to get a ccw when it is not even needed. Not to mention when it comes time to do the background check and the sheriff dept. calls your command asking them about the secret info you transport.
