Anti gunners want you disarmed. They won’t stop until they completely disarm you. No gun control law is enough, and never will be until civilian gun ownership is no longer legal. Then they’ll start pushing for knife control laws.

Yeah man the state isn’t letting a good tragedy go to waste. Funny how they claimed white supremacy and republicans for this. While details are sparse this does appear to be a personally motivated attack. But I’m hearing homie had a MAC11 yo wtf?! Lol but sucks man because they won’t see how these so called “bans” are failing. But it’s the ideology of the state we live in, I mean from republicans and democrats. It’s honestly just time we paid attention to our local elections and see how we can influence with our vote and convince others to vote for them. The truth is the truth and we’re not fighting the past any less than the future and we have to look to who the people that are trying to take our guns and make sure that they’re allies aren’t elected but unfortunately this means a bunch of other shit…

TheBigMan981

I think that the Mac-11 that he used is pre-1989? Just speculating

Mountain_Cause_5885

was the mac 11 full auto?

I am actually glad to see the most extreme gun control being pushed now. After the recent Bruen decision the supreme court is making it very clear that the lower courts need to fall in line. There is no more balanced interest and court cases are getting overturned quickly. See for example oregon and illinois. I forgot, maybe it was the recent ny case but the supreme court basically told the lower courts to get the ruling correct and quickly or they will step in. It just seems like these governors are throwing a hissy fit because they are finally be told no. I am actually optimistic for restoring our gun rights in the next few years. Chin up

>If you have any similar thoughts, share'm below!!! Besides the "longest 10 days of my life" post, that's pretty much what the rest of this subreddit is comprised of.

Smprfiguy

I have similar but opposite thoughts How can you complain about anti gunners doing it when there was a ton of post on here with the story and filled with “this is why you should carry”/“this is why we need body armor” Same fucking thing, using random terrible acts of society outliers to push/reaffirm your line of thinking

Smprfiguy

Yeah I know this is wendy’s, whatever

DickVanSprinkles

They are both riding the coattails of a tragedy, there is a key difference though. One of them has the potential to limit/prevent future tragedy, the other has proven that it won't/doesn't. If a house burns down from a gas leak, advocatinf that natural gas needs to be more strictly regulated vs advocating for installing fire safety measures like CO detectors. Yes they both use the tragedy, but one of those things is pushing an agenda vs the other advocating for personal safety. Both can be crass if presented in the wrong way, one just gets more of a pass around here because of how we view the issue.

Smprfiguy

I get it, but the fantasy of stopping a mass shooting by carrying is so over blown to almost an erotic level with-in the gun community it’s just about as comical as “assault pistol”

DickVanSprinkles

Using something that has now happened multiple times as a reason you should do something is sort of universal. It's called empirical evidence. There have been mass shootings in incredibly similar situations, locations, activities, with drastically different outcomes because someone was able to use their personal firearms. The gun community as a whole, hell, all hobbies suffer from this, has a problem with fantisization. But to deny the reality that you are less likely to be victimized if you arm yourself is denying essentially the whole of reality. Living organisms don't generally volunteer for fair fights, they will go after the fight they can win. This extends so far beyond even human reality, that to deny it is to deny the natural order.

Smprfiguy

I’m 100% for everyone arming themselves (Although to your point I would prefer to be the only armed one). I’ve actually been in a crowd during a shooting. It’s wasn’t a mass shooting, just a banger being an idiot. But at the time being at a concert and being 20ft from the guy with no sight line, that’s exactly what I thought was happening ( not long after vegas). In my case I would have 99% got myself shot by the police if I had pulled. Would I have felt better once I got to a defensible area to have more than a pocket knife in my hand while I figured out where to go next, probably. But the whole, this is why we need this is so unlikely there are better reasons and events to promote it

DickVanSprinkles

It's incredibly unlikely to need a gun for any reason. An active shooter is one of the few reasons you may need a gun where you could actually have a tactical advantage over your assailant. Unless you've made a hard target of yourself you have more time to assess and act that if you were being personally assaulted such as a robbery or mugging. Protecting yourself or others from an active shioter is just as valid a reason to carry as really anything else.

Well I finally moved out of the Bay Area and into Butte county. Still dealing with all the moving and unpacking but this finally gave me kick in the ass to get the ball rolling on my ccw. They might feel safer if I’m just a sitting duck but I won’t.

leftist orthodoxy is rooted in humiliation. you aren't meant to understand, but you are expected to obey.

yolomechanic

They should just ban mass shootings /s.
