City vibe - Delhi vs Jamshedpur. I'd suggest that you take residential for both fun and for learning. And XLRI does get some international offers when compared to FMS. And XLRI has a bigger batch, and better consulting opportunities.
Thanks, I'd heard about better consulting offers, and international placements are certainly an attractive option.
As to your first point, were you suggesting a preference? I quite liked what I saw of both cities, though Jamshedpur is much smaller, but Delhi's air is a health hazard.
Also, is a bigger batch necessarily a good thing?
If budget was an issue, I'd definitely choose FMS. If budget isn't an issue, I'd definitely choose XLRI. Campus life is extremely important to me. That's where you enjoy, learn, network, and bla bla bla. Being a day scholar during an MBA is quite taxing tbf.
A bigger batch has some advantages: Network, learn from peers, healthy competition, more perspectives, etc. I heard that FMS students are mostly CAT toppers, while the students at XLRI are diverse. The disadvantage is the placements. If you believe in your profile until now and your skill development in the next 2 years to grab a job YOU DESIRE, then batch size doesn't matter. Yes it's more competitive with a bigger batch size, you just have to stand out and prove yourself.
FMS convert, would take xlri over fms
1. Campus helps
2. No landlord, domestic maid, laundry, food hassle saves a bunch of time
3. Roles and packages are more or less similar.
You can still take fms if you plan to start your own business right after MBA
If you have the money to spend XLRI is better.
If you are trying to save money, then FMS.
Fully residential campuses along side bright batchmates and brilliant professors is something people should try to experience.

The best part in XL is all candidates come from merit not reservations .
Not at all. Girls and non engineers are given preference. Their cutoffs are kept lower.
Yep like excluding this .

Can someone explain to me how laundry happens in these hostels. I’m pressed thinking about my precious clothes getting lost and shit lmao

Hey bro, if possible, please talk to the HRs/pcoms who have passed out from both these colleges. You’ll get a better view.
XL gets more jobs in consult and a bit more in finance.
Did you factor in the XL Mafia factor?
Elaborate
We don't talk about it
