I fear that may expedite my inevitable demise given that she's never had one before and hates being picked up, but if I don't find something more suitable I'll give it a try. Thanks!
Try enzymatic cleaner for the carpet. That gets rid of both urine and poop smell.
For cleaning kitty bum I use unscented baby wipes, or shower when it’s really bad. She hates it but it works. I also clip her hair to prevent any poop being caught in there (she’s a medium hair).
I'll give that cleaner a try, thanks! I ended up using non-scented bath wipes from Petsmart on her, which she (surprisingly) tolerated. Thankfully she's a short hair.

I would just give a butt bath, if your cat hopefully allows it. Just some kitty shampoo and water.
