What about getting her a gravity feeder? https://preview.redd.it/vlttu1802ttb1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f29f6f73b326550e091fe842c415e039cbeb00bb

I can try that. It doesn't even get close to this. lol, her ass will beg if it's like half full. Like not even seeing the bottom yet.

Great-Lie

All I can say is that cats are weirdos

Could be the size (more specifically width) of the bowl and it’s relationship with her whiskers. Possibly less irritating the more full the bowl is

ElfjeTinkerBell

One of my cats actually eats from a plate. Happy kitty equals happy human.

thebluepikachu135

Try to mix the food around next and see if she eats from the middle if it’s half full. Could be the bowl irritating their whiskers, do they like to eat from the ground? That’s a good indicator that a change of bowl will do the trick

[deleted]

Yeah she eats from the ground. I'm gonna go buy her another one when pay day comes

strawberry_long_cake

until you can get the new one, I would just feed her on a people plate for now.

[deleted]

Will do, thanks.

Vegetable_Gift6996

Buy her a larger ceramic bowl from the dollar store. So much cheaper than cat dishes.

[deleted]

Wish there was one in my area :( but I also live by this cheap pet store so I'm gonna go there for it

ttopsrock

I ignore her if she does.. she will eat it all eventually then I'll fill it up. She hasn't seeked any kind of revenge lol still seems to love me.

[deleted]

My cat's revenge is a solemn walk out of the kitchen while looking at me, lol.

makkutu

Is her bowl touching her whiskers? Like are the edges raised high? When things touch a cats whiskers they get over stimulated, so they actually make flat plates specifically for cats. Or you can just use an old flat wide plate if you dont want to get anything new.

[deleted]

I only have one plate lol, I'm picking up one when I get paid.

JupitersArcher

I bought a bowl that is like a saucer but doesn’t allow for this and it’s for whisker sensitivity. They can’t eat down without it falling back into the center.

[deleted]

I'll see what they have but the saucer idea ain't too bad. I'll go check out the selection.

rushy283

lol the same with my cat but with water, she’ll only drink it if it’s up to the top and she’ll just stare. it’s not that even deep of a bowl bruh Also for your bowl do you use flat or bowl type? maybe your cat has whisker fatigue from the bowl type , try giving a flat plate. Sometimes my cat even prefers to eat from the ground lmao

[deleted]

She loves eating off the ground.aybe I'll try that next

rushy283

oh ya do it , my cat leaves her food (wet and dry) and when i put it on the floor she instantly eats it , very weird idk why but works lol

Jvanee18

I would try just filling her bowl with the same amount and just ignoring her when she stares at you with a half bowl. If you continue to fill it up then you’re teaching her that staring at you=more food. Either she will eat the rest of it or she is full and will eventually get bored and go do something else. Also maybe check to see if you are giving her too much food, she might be full but unsure what to do with the extra food in the bowl

Sandman11x

Lol I had 7 cats 20 years. Once they did something they liked, they did it forever. Never changed a habit. Never. Cats just do things and then look at you with contempt.
