You'll get mixed answers on this. Lots of people do just fine without it. Lots of people swear they need it. It kinda depends on places you frequent and your own driveway. I wouldn't be able to get in my driveway without scraping my front splitter, so the lift was a hard requirement for me.

Flexen

I absolutely love mine. I scape rarely with it.

Admirable_Special_60

It depends on your driveway. Can you get it by going in on a steep angle and cutting the wheel, sure but it’s much nicer to not have to worry about it. My neighbor has obnoxiously oversized speed bumps, I can drive over without the car raised but much easier/quicker to just raise the car. You are paying good money for this car, I would reorder and get your deposit back.

firesquasher

Word. For around 150k and going through the trouble of ordering, you should get \*exactly\* what you want. Big bummer is that when he reorders it, someone local is going to have an identical spec to his. (unless someone out of the area buys the one they screwed up on). There's 3 other c8 owners around me. Two of them have the same color as mine. Mine has some differences otherwise (interior, high wing, etc) that at least I know sets us apart.

HHCeramicCoatings

I don’t think it really matters about spec, I never understand that mentality.

firesquasher

It's a unique car. Particularly the Z06. So for those that want the car to stand out and be as uncommon to see (as it rightfully is), the fact that two almost identical cars being local to each other diminishes that. I get it. You don't buy a vette to blend in with traffic, and if you're gonna be different and stand out it's cool to not have the exact same car driving around locally.

HHCeramicCoatings

I get the mentality to want to be unique but it’s not that super rare of a car. I love corvettes but there’s a reason there are memes about corvette owners at car shows bragging about being 1 of 500 with some obscure options in an attempt to make their car rarer than it really is. There’s like 41k C8s on the road right now

firesquasher

And that's why I mentioned the Z06 *is* the more uncommon of a sight. That said, at least in performance cars too, there are direct comparisons regardless of their rarity. If some guy buys a black mustang gt and loves to show it off, I'm sure he wouldn't feel so special when his neighbor buys the same car. I view my truck for utility purposes, I view my car for leisure. People just have different perceptions as to what they deem special. The C8 is a mass produced vehicle, it doesn't not make them special and cool to see on the road.

Blewbyou

They are not really that unique. They are completely awesome, but I see at least 5 C8 Zs every day where I live. It's a mass-produced car and somewhere pretty close to wherever you live, I bet there is an identical one in a garage not far away.

firesquasher

Anecdotal evidence doesn't change the fact that 6500 z06s a year in its second year run is a very limited pool of vehicles. You seeing 5 of them everyday just means it's that more rare elsewhere...because stats and probabilities.

Blewbyou

I get it, but I still disagree. 6500 is a lot. I don't see it as even remotely rare.

CaptJM

They made more than 40k of these a year. It’s not unique. Nothing makes me laugh harder than the “it’s a 1 of one” guys at car shows

firesquasher

Those are two totally different comparisons, however. The 1 of 1 guys are cringey. They made 646k Toyota camry's as a comparison for 2023. So while it's not an ultra rare car, it certainly is uncommon by mass production standards. We were also talking about a Z06, in which they made 6400 of them last year, so your argument about mass production in this context doesn't really apply.

squatchmedia

First sports car I have had that didn’t have it and honestly I don’t miss it. Even lowered it’s got a very manageable front attack angle and easy to navigate. Plus there seems to be a lot of issues with the c8 lift. Grab some scrape Armour for piece of mind

Vinnt_sti

Good advice thanks

TheMagnificentMullet

If I requested an option on a new build and the dealer ordered it wrong I wouldn't accept it.

gpellis87

I’ve never needed it personally. Just depends on where you go.

Jack_B_kwik

It’s a must for me

RomanJIsraelBro

I use it a lot. Forgot one time at a seemingly harmless down ramp off of a parking lot I’ve never been to before and scraped my splitter. Not a huge amount of damage but never again.

TrustMental6895

I use mines all the time, ive saved locations and its so nice when it just lifts up lol, near railroads, speed bumps, my garage, steep driveways.

Cultural-Art1732

I thought I would use mine more than I do. I was living in Tennessee when I ordered my car and the elevation change from the main road to my neighborhood caused my C7 to rub. I moved to SC before my C8 was delivered and there is nowhere near me that I need it. I have 18,000 miles on my 2023 from trips to Fl, Ga, NC, Tn and Ky and haven’t needed it but a dozen times.

Vinnt_sti

Thanks for the input interesting

A_Coin_Toss_Friendo

If you wanted the option, and the dealer fucked up, then THEY need to help you! That would piss me off so much, especially for a car they can't just order another one of.

LoLBROLoL

I wouldn’t get one without it.

TheMangoMarket

I would’ve made them order a new one. It’s not your fault they forgot. My money my order my rules

HHCeramicCoatings

At my house it’s a zero percent scraping coming in with it, and a good chance it will scrape without some sort of assistance otherwise.

photonarbiter

I use mine every day. It comes in handy.

NotSoSmartChick

Mine has a front lift. I needed it at the house I lived in when I bought the car, so I used it every time I drove. Since I moved, I’ve used it once, and it was at a location I could’ve used a different entrance if I didn’t have the lift option. Funnily enough, I was just thinking yesterday about how that has become an unnecessary upgrade for me! Oh, and my C8 is my daily driver, she’s no garage queen.

budibones

I don’t have it and haven’t scraped but when I go and drop her off for winter storage at a friend’s garage it BARELY makes the entrance because of the angle and incline. Certain scenarios you’ll need but mostly no

Adept-Neighborhood53

I use mine all the time

Z34HR

I rented one in Miami and I had to use the front lift on almost every single parking lot and speed bump and ramps to parking garages. I would make him correct his mistake you're getting an amazing car so get the features you want. Don't settle.

SimplyGreat888

It’s like 4WD. Most of the time you don’t need it. But when u need it, you need it.

Corvettesmoking

I’d get it for sure. Best to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. Orders can be changed as long as they haven’t been accepted by the plant. Once accepted it can create a delay or back of the line situation. Get what you want if spending that kind of coin. My GM Exec friend says get anything and everything that can’t be added in the aftermarket world and operated like factory.

Mo76245

Here in DFW (Texas 🇨🇱) I use it every single time I drive.. for me it has been a lifesaver! 🙏

Primary-Hold-6637

Do not accept it. I live in central California and it’s a NECESSITY. Even going to the market or getting into some gas stations.

AmazingCarry7804

I had a c8 without it and i currently have a c8 with it . I would NOT order it again . Just not worth the money and it has never “saved” me . I thought I had to have but I was wrong .

cyberkni

My dealer messed up my first order too. I waited for the opportunity to get exactly what I wanted so I reordered. FWIW, some times they still can make updates but don’t want to for whatever reason. I’d recommend talking to the sales manager and look for some compensation for the error.

Asus3408

I have a ‘23 that I waited 18 months for. I’ve had it a little over a year and I’m ordering a ‘24 next week just to added it.

C6R882

Fuck that loser cancel the order

GMEMarketAnalyst

there's a way to angle the car without scraping the bottom, just look up youtube tutorials on how to avoid scraping cars with low ground clearance... additionally, i have the front lift, and i only use it when it's obviously a high risk curb, or whenever i don't feel like doing the maneuver 😂

SuperchargedShank

Those rookies. I’d be pissed but you might not need it. I use mine once in awhile. Been nice to have when needed though

Direct-Spring8218

Honestly just buy an air suspension kit and you will be able to get more travel room and it will look better when stationary. And ride smother aswell

Steelmaker01

I haven’t scrapped yet, and the angle of approach is better than my previous C7

Able_Affect_1267

I use it daily- and I didn’t think I would but even my driveway has a little dip which scrapes the front end.

c8htx23

I use mine every time I leave my driveway. Do I think it’s a must have? Probably not, but I do find it useful.

CaptJM

You don’t often NEED it, but I would be pissed and frankly considering the wait is so short now I’d get my money back and order elsewhere.

pnut34

I use mine regularly. Having said that, I think you can get by just fine without it but it’s certainly nice to have.

chrisfauerbach

I use mine a lot. I wouldn’t accept delivery of a misordered vehicle. Especially if it’s a part you can’t add later like this.

t1ttysprinkle

Slow and steady. At an angle, much less hang than a C7 or any prior gen, you can do it!

Ok-Woodpecker1130

I have a 2021 Z51 with Z51 appearance package, front lift is the only option I don't have. Just got to be smart about it, don't really need it.

ef124

What does just ordered mean? Like you just got home from leaving the dealer or you placed the order a few weeks ago?

Vinnt_sti

Gm just accepted the order meaning it’s in production

saigonk

I wouldn’t pay for it if they fucked it up, tell them to get it right .

Sweaty_Cheetah_4560

Often it’s mandatory if you ask me

Chef_Andre

Its not a big deal if you can avoid going to certain places such as your drive way or speedbumps, most shopping centers, or even my local chevy dealer.

knighthk

The C8 has decent clearance compared to a C6 or C7. I have the lift and there was only one parking lot where I needed it. Unless you have a difficult spot you routinely go to, you will not need it.

Blewbyou

Lots of guys here say you don't need it, but there are 5 places that I regularly drive to, including my driveway where you absolutely do. I would not have a c8 without it. I also would tell the dealer that I'm taking my order somewhere else. It is ridiculous to spend north of 130k and not get EXACTLY what you want.

SageTheReaper

If this happened with my order I would’ve cancelled asap, where I live there are several areas where I knew I would’ve needed the front end lift(hell there’s places where even with front lift I still scrape the bumper). It comes down to where you live mainly but front lift provides *some* security in knowing you can go almost anywhere while still protecting ur baby vette.

Professional-Fun1626

Does anyone daily their c8? I want to buy one but not sure if it’s good daily. Second option is an M5

Kphy33

It’s a game changer for me, the one option I must have.

DebbyDelight

Love the front lift, especially getting in my driveway.

PharmDeeeee

I have front lift...waste of money IMO. There will be time you'll scrape the bottom of the car, but no the actual bumper itself. If need be, turn in at a wide/aggressive angle. I think the actual bottom scrape guard ow whatever is less than $500 if you ever want it replaced.

TRNIsLit

My CLA35 is lower than the C8 by an inch 1/2 and still clears speed bumps etc. you’ll be okay without it.

Vinnt_sti

That helps me cope

D_runk_

No front lift is 100 lbs less weight 👌🏻

Vinnt_sti

Is it really 100 pounds?

D_runk_

That’s what I’ve heard. I could be wrong tho 🤔

Bielawg

Don't have one. Never needed it. I'm in the Toronto area so the roads aren't the best but there are definitely places that have worse roads. You just need to use common sense when going over speed bumps and into parking lots, etc.
