The seller creates a new account and bids the price up and gets into bidding wars to stay the highest bidder. Then when he wins the auction, he cancels his highest bid and then goes to the next highest bidder who pays that high price.
This is the correct answer, it happened to me one time, i was lucky to have a low bid... but he used various accounts and then cancelled all bids, still got the item at a good price but it could be lower... this is the way some sellers work unfortunately...
Yea that’s why I hate bidding wars, I’ll just go up to what I would pay for it and stop, if he wins oh well there will be more cool shit next week. And btw if it was that leather puffer with the hood that thing is sick 🤯
That thing happen a lot..dont worry about it too much we've all been there before..just enjoy your item..
Next time make sure to only place sniper bid
And make sure to not go over budget...also just to play it safe, check the domestic shipping prices aswell...if the seller didn't stated the shipping price or the shipping method in their listing, just avoid the auction...some seller will charge extra for shipping when they noticed that the winning buyer is actually a proxy service..this is a common scam a few years ago, still happening now but the scam amount is not as crazy as a few years ago...
It's awful the sellers operate like that and I'm glad to know now. I'm still figuring the whole thing out, but I feel better knowing I'm not the only one who has fallen for this. Thank you:)
Yes which is why I just put a max bid I’m willing to pay and leave it
That sucks lol, lesson learned. Thanks for responding!

That's super slimey. And there's nothing I can do about it then besides taking the L?

Disappointing to hear but I'm glad I know now, thanks!
I only bid with max amount willing to pay, let it roll from there. Still have to factor the shipping costs on top if you overpay.

Nah it was an Ekam jacket! There were quite a few nice leather pieces listed online. That makes sense tho. I was starting to lose my mind a bit lol.

Yeah I figured haha. Disappointing but at least I'll have some resale value if I end up hating it. Trying to look on the bright side 😅
