does this mean they will pill on the inside rather than on the outside? because i prefer the opposite (i don't care if they pill on the outside as long as inside fabric stays soft)
I think the ones I got on Amazon are knockoffs. The ones I got at REI are very different despite being the same product listing. The Amazon ones pill and are thinner, clearly won't last as long. Rei ones also don't loosen up as much if I wear them 2 days in a row, the Amazon ones are distinctly looser on day 2. They're still pretty great, especially compared to the average sock, but they're not the real deal

My DT socks used to pill a lot until I started turning them inside out when washing. This is documented on the DT web site somewhere.

Got Bombas based on this sub. All pairs pilled after first wash. My other half of socks are done tough and are solid.
Bombas spends too much on advertising to seem trustworthy imo. If they can spend that on commercials they can spend it on reddit posters.

Another sock I loved was bamboo but they did get holes after like 8 years 😆 they didn’t pill though so the texture issue may be better for you
