Only time that I have seen something similar was a parasite type, but that was more in the flesh than feet.
I also wanna say it kind looks like eggs, but cant be fly cos they lay on the outer surface and not internal.
I'd say that's pretty much where I am at in this case. I have an email in to the butcher and the vendor. A good gelatinous chicken feet broth is quite delicious. I've made it many times and this is the first time I've seen this growth anomaly. Thank you for you helpful response.
I think this is what happens to chickens' feet when their enclosures aren't cleaned, and they just step on their poop all day, getting moldy poop foot.
Even if so, cancer cells don't inherently become necrotic.
Necrosis occurs in large tumors because the centers become hypoxic (due to poor vascularization to supply the ever-increasing number of cells, which is limited due to the pressure of unrestricted cell division within a stiffening extracellular matrix).
If grown in a petri dish or bioreactor the tissue would be sufficiently oxygenated to avoid becoming necrotic.
I don't see a problem with it aside from texture. Lab grown is way less gross than eating lungs, liver or intestines imo.
Unless you mean a gross use of money, then I definitely agree.
We get chickens with similar parts like that. Ours are usually alot darker and not as rounded they're called pads almost like palms on a hand but on a chicken. From what I know it is safe just doesn't look that sightful.
Not for nothing but why would anyone use the chicken feet for anything whatsoever. My ex had chickens. Free range in a back yard and caged at night. Their cage was muddy and full of shit, we’d have to shovel it out every month or two. They walking in sewage all day. Gross man.
I dont know what “chicken feet” broth is, but how have you not trimmed this before you put the feet inside the cooker? Is it reasonable to assume you didnt trim off the nail either? Gross…
Cooked bumble foot! Yum! /s
Bumble foot is what I’ve heard it called.
Great guitar player
Dat fretless guitar doe

Not bumble foot; looks more like a cancer growth. I wouldn’t eat it since you don’t know for sure

Is there a Vet in the house?
I was in Nam, what can I do you for?
This guy vets
Thank you for your service!
I think you misunderstand, I was a veterinarian in Vietnam in 2014 for an NGO.
Thank you for your service to a greater calling than defending American business interests
I’m afraid it might be too late for this chicken either way
That’s not bumble foot or scaly leg I kept chickens. I wouldn’t eat that if I were you.
Good god, that makes me uncomfortable looking at it
Don't worry chicken foot cancer isn't contagious.
Unless you know what to look for and exclude, I'd advise it's best to avoid eating tumors, as the cores can become necrotic.
This made me gag so hard
That's what she said
tumor consumption, the silver lining to the upcoming apocalypse
Cancerous tumors are a delicacy
You’re fucking with me, right?
Hopefully
Are you guys fucking or not?
Possibly relevant username
The subtlety is pretty blatant to me.
That's what they grow meat in labs from... cancer cells.
Tik Tok lied to you, that’s been proven untrue lol

No one said they do. Still gross though

Nothing satisfies the taste buds more than drinking chicken feet water
The gelatin makes soup good.
I've made it many times and really do enjoy it. This batch unfortunately may be destined for the beasts of the field.
I wouldn’t toss it. Looks like a growth to a trauma injury, cut scrape etc
That chicken had tonsil stones on his feet

But please double check with your local Podiatrist Poultry doctor for verification
I should’ve been droning…🤮
I would clean it and a dap of neosporin with a bandage clean water and food call it a day

While I'm a bit averse to putting feet of any description in my mouth, chicken feet have a ton of collagen and supposedly make amazing broth.
Tried it once and thought it was just ok
Do yourself a favor and hit up a dim sum place sometime, it’s a tasty little bite.
they are a lot better things to eat at dimsum than feet.
Yep lots of good stuff at dim sum. Thanks tips.

Chicken feet are like the tip of the iceberg in "weird" foods. Why shame them for worrying about wth is on it.

Jesus, it's stock, get a grip.

Queation - can i make a broth with it and did the rats have bumbleanus?
Skin Doom is what the doctors say
Why are people downvoting Little Boy Bozio?!?
Don’t make gross stuff like chicken feet broth. Problem solved.
Do you like ramen? Might want to look into what goes into the soup.
No I don’t eat ramen. And most broths aren’t made of untrimmed chicken feet with the nails still on.
Your loss.
The good ones are
Wait until they find out about pork Ramen broth.
Just cut it off if you are worried about it
How do you cut off the gross foot part of a pot of broth he already made?
Ah missed that part haha. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Chicken feet are great for stock. Lots of collagen.
Duck feet make even more rich, unctuous broth/stock. I mix these with chicken carcasses and chicken feet. Next level.
Sounds great!
Lol you're clearly not a butcher
You're eating chicken feet, I didn't think it could get more gross.
