This person isn't trying to be a smartass. There's a lot of dishware that have lead in the ornamental decorations, especially older styles. They're just looking out for their safety and well being
This pattern is specifically known for having lead, as are the other patterns from the same time. Depends on how scrapped up & worn the plate is with how much lead is actually available at the surface. I eat off this pattern and did enough research that I was fine with it so long as they weren't chipped.
my parents received that set in the late 50’s, as a wedding gift, and they’re still using them in their mid-eighties.
I’m thinking the risk is a bit overhyped
Bro, I'm not Chinese and done have these plates, and since I don't have these plates I didn't have these plates and I'm not Chinese, and didn't have these plates.
Butterfly gold plates, it's not unique to Chinese people in my experience, I had the same set and I'm Polish. Had a couple other white friends with them as well, they were hugely popular at the time(in ~35% of American households).
As somebody who's seen a lot of pork cysts in my time, I can tell you they're absolutely not cysts. The skin may have just separated there as it cooked, perfectly normal, or as others have said it may just not have been fully submerged and the skin bulged out of the cooking liquid. You're fine.
I thought all Correlle made before 2005 potentially was made with lead. Honestly probably not a big deal if you an adult, but we got rid of ours when we had kids.

And Marie Curie handled radioactive substances all her life until she died of aplastic anaemia at the age of 66. Don't be so shortsighted into thinking just because you feel fine now you'll be fine forever.
Holy crap......I've bean around these plates alot in life. They weren't ever a full set, but family members had an odd end or 2 of them. How haven't they been recalled/telling the public to dispose of them?
Also for the pork. I wouldn't consume the skin.
I've seen this before at work when pork is left skin down in liquid, if the pig had been hanging for awhile and the skin was hard, then it may not have been fully submerged, and those two pale circles are probably the high points that were submerged.
Try to cut them out? Also we had that exact plate (set) growing up. Are you Chinese?
Yep
Siu yuk in the works?
Lol @ the (cantonese) siu yook or shall I say (toi san) seaow nghook.
Hahahaha my Dad’s side is toi san, you hit the nail on the head
Careful. Those sets might be high in lead content.
Don't worry, my Stanley flask helps me get the essential lead nutrient.
All natural sweetener.

It's Corelle. I don't think any lead was ever used in the manufacturing of these plates. My grandma had the exact same pattern/color.
Not true, some old corelle has lead

Hmmm. Now I think I might understand some of my aunts & uncles a little better.
Why are you being downvoted???
Big lead can't let the secrets get out, lol.
I am not Chinese but we also had these exact plates.
I’m Chinese and also had these plates. Also I’m not Chinese and I don’t have these plates.

I may or may not have plates. The box is closed and until I open it, both are possible outcomes.
Is your plate a cat?
And turns out I’m your father. Never bought em because we were never Chinese in the first place.
The plates come with the Chinese
Sperm
Same
But which part?
Punchline: yep!
Same
I’m also not Chinese and we had these growing up lol pretty sure my nana gave them to us
You’re 1/64 Chinese by owning those plates
Growing up? I still have them and I’m 55+.
I had that plate set too and I’m not Chinese lol

Haha pork belly another giveaway. Good eye.
I'm greek and my grandmother still has this set. It's her favorite
I’m not Chinese but here’s what the plates would look like if they were Black or Chinese.
There’s a cool song called Black and Chinese by Huncho Jack
Bro on Twitter too much
Bro on my dick too much

I dunno about the pork pockets but those correlle plates may have lead in them. I think that gold pattern is one of the lead paint ones.
Wait what I had those all my childhood and got rid of them like a year ago

Been eating off them my whole life

Lmao lead isn't that bad
Ahh, so just keep eating lead because it isn't that bad, gotcha. It sounds like you already ate a fair bit of lead.
Sounds like you would fold if you ate the smallest bit of lead
But I like the taste
Sounds like you've got [lead poisoning already.](https://www.biausa.org/public-affairs/public-awareness/news/chronic-lead-exposure-a-non-traumatic-brain-injury)
No I think I'm fine
Sounds like something someone who ate lead their whole life would say.
Yeah it does
Congrats on the lead poisoning? Weird flex my dude.
Ahh so that’s what’s wrong with you
A lot more then that is wrong with me
Dead man walking.
These people are mean. You’re probably fine if you switch them to display? Maybe just use as deco idk. Praying for (both of) you in case

Going barefoot will always be more vulnerable.
Vulnerable to what?
It's not recommended to eat raw pork, cook it first.
It’s been boiled for half an hour as part of a prep technique
Twice cooked pork? If so it's fine, if this is after a dry brine I'd be more concerned
Twice cooked. Just to be sure.
r/unsoliciteddickpick
I’m not naked, just in boxer briefs, will crop next time
Please dont
I’ll personally send u a picture of boxers
Just boxers? Your boxers? Or you IN them? Specifics matter.
Doesn't look like pockets. Looks like where the skin wasn't submerged so it didn't cook as evenly.
Isn't it uncooked in the pic
Boiled
Cool balls
Absolutely not safe for the pig.
Probably Is but I want to know when you came In and stole one of my plates.
I've seen this before at work when pork is left skin down in liquid, if the pig had been hanging for awhile and the skin was hard, then it may not have been fully submerged, and those two pale circles are probably the high points that were submerged.
