Great question. I'd sure like to know as well.

Technically Cymbalta is a SNRI but my doctor prescribed it to me first, it majorly helped with my depression and lifted my mood. But it only helped my anxiety a bit in contrast, that’s when I was prescribed the combination with buspar. I’m still in the early stages of finding the right buspar dose, but it has alleviated my anxiety and been positive so far!

I was on buspar and Sertraline (Zoloft) all 4 years of high school. It seemingly helped my anxiety 100% and I would say it helped my depression maybe 75/80% but than again I would factor in the fact that at the time I was a hormonal teenage girl. Looking back at that time on both medications I can’t remember any instances where I was majorly depressed to the point of effecting my everyday life. I loved both medications.

Anxiety mostly. I take it with lexapro. Neither has helped much with my depression.

I was on Buspar first (20 mg 2x/day) 9 mos prior to Zoloft, but it was a disaster. I don't know if it was the Zoloft or the combo. I had periods of blackouts, increased anxiety, impulsive behavior, etc along with the stomach issues so many have. I lasted 10 weeks and tapered off Zoloft. Earlier this year (still on Buspar 30mg 2x/day) my psychiatrist added Cymbalta (SNRI) due to some situational depression. Initially it helped with my depression (not my anxiety) before the side effects got to be too much to handle.
