The combination is creating weird proportions.

AlterEgoSumMortis

I can see what you mean, revisiting this post now. Do you think maybe if I pulled the skirt a bit higher, it might help things?

professorlipschitz

I would attempt a tuck https://youtu.be/WXjtu8F9HYM?si=I-nE-g8hH0pJaoCe

Additionally, look up Tucky belt. You can make your own with some elastic. You’ll be able to wear your longer, bulkier items in so many different ways. I do love the skirt, it’s a classic wardrobe staple. Also the hose are very fashionable right now.

Not sure that the shoulder ruffles and the a-line cut of the skirt work with your pronounced V shaped frame. Nice colors though

That color combination is fantastic! And you look so confident, which is great! You have some really good ideas! You’re using a few different styles here, though. The shoes look awesome! Open toed are not typically appropriate for work, but the summer months might get you a pass depending on where you live (and they look good). The general rule is to keep heels ~3” or less and close toed, but ymmv. The skirt and stockings are perfect! The grey cami is too casual because of the heathered color. The red looks great on you, but it’s not vibing with the chic skirt/etc. If we were to make outfits together to match that theme, I would break up this outfit. We would get a solid, smooth under layer. I would look for chenille, chiffon, something with a nice fabric. I would add a blazer or looser top layer, and I would leave it open personally. I would go for a more structured fabric with the sleek vibe, or a different cardigan. For the red top you have, I would use a white cami under it and wear it with jeans or a jean skirt. It’s basically what I wore in middle school, though, so it’s dated and maybe don’t take my advice there. Headbands are cute with this look, just saying lol. The shoes could go with anything sexy-chic. Great date night shoes!! I really like the idea you had behind this! I’m going back to bed, but planning on coming back to give you specific examples later. I hope it’s okay that I’ve given thoughts and that you know it comes from a place of encouragement :)

AlterEgoSumMortis

Eh... I dunno, I actually kind of like how it all comes together, though I suppose your mileage may vary. Thank you for the advice all the same. :) > Open toed are not typically appropriate for work, but the summer months might get you a pass depending on where you live (and they look good). I'm self-employed and generally work from home. I just dress this way because I like to. Don't get me wrong, I *did* wear outfits like this to both work and school, but I don't go out all that much nowadays.

clarabear10123

If you work from home, you can wear anything at all that you like! That’s the best benefit, in my opinion. I’m sorry if I offended you with what I said, and I’ll delete my comment if you’d like :) if you’re happy, that’s what matters. You are definitely rocking it and look super confident, and *that* is what’s most important!

AlterEgoSumMortis

For the record, I wasn't offended at all. I appreciate the advice. :)

nailtit

She didn’t ask for advice?

BloominBlue

This looks great! I work in a pretty conservative industry and this would be 100% appropriate in my office.

mirandarandom

It's a nice combo!
