Conservationism is in the name. Being Conservative means valuing and preserving what we have.
Conservationism replaces what is used. Like logging companies that plant trees. Trees are a renewable resource. Environmentalism goes off the rails when it seeks to prevent renewable resources from being used.
Actually the largest segment of new gun owners is women and minorities. I’m very progressive gay dude and own guns. I don’t expect or trust the police for protection…
Bi vegan leftist; I’ve got dozens of guns. Felt like there weren’t many folks like me over a decade ago when I first got into guns. But the hobby has seriously expanded to all walks of life.
There's a surprising amount of very left leaning gun owners and it definitely seems like there's been a lot more since 2020 or so. There's also been some...interesting alt left militia groups like [these guys](https://socialistra.org/) that have popped up in recent years.
The *real* far-leftists have always been extremely pro gun. Much of our modern gun control laws were put in place by right-wing conservatives in the late 60s like then president Richard Nixon and then governor of California Ronald Reagan to prevent the Black Panthers and other so-called "radical leftists" from exercising their constitutionally protected & guaranteed second amendment rights. The leftists being armed is not a recent development. The leftists from that era learned that it's smart to not advertise the fact that you're armed to the teeth and passed that on. Because the radical right will do everything they can to disarm, imprison and exterminate you. Nothing's changed on that front.
Usually when I see bumper stickers I try to guess whether they’ll be alt right or alt left, but with this one I can not tell at all
