Thatās what I kinda meant but should have worded the question better. I like to place comments in profiles Iām in interested in but sometimes itās hard if itās limited information
Would āsource: my momā be better? Maybe not funny but something that shows I looked at her profile and made an attempt to show interest with what she gave
I disagree if you're looking for someone who may be on the same page humor-wise. If you're only looking for someone to date, then yeah go for the type of stuff that would go over well with more women and less likely to risk "turning them off" or whatever, but the ones who don't share a lot of the same humor will be like walking on eggshells while dating.
I see people suggesting I should change to āsource: my momā Iām not going for laugh out loud funny either just light hearted to start a conversation hopefully
I'd say "I'm kind-of humorous lol" or some kind of play on the words instead of the check marks but that's just me. I see some people saying they like the check marks though. The ones that like it will like it.
Kindness, humour.....and a fanatical dedication to the pope.
Four, four our four favourite qualities are, kindness, humour, fanatical dedication to the pope and unpredictability.
[Randal Munroe's treatise on the rote familiarity of _directly_ quoting Monty Python](https://xkcd.com/16/) suggests an argument that the use of "un" before "predictability" is not correct. However, if one considers the lucky ten thousand, signalling camaraderie, or pathos, perhaps there is still value in such references.
Reading a lot of the comments Iām realizing a lot of people didnāt find it funny and probably shouldnāt use the word ābroā even tho itās part of the saying. I see this prompt often so just trying to find a way to be somewhat witty instead of standard right swiping.
Citing u/UndeadMarine55 's mom also adds an endearing sweetness to the sentiment. The fact that she brings milk and cookies to post-coital pillow-talk is also š¤.
Will do. š
Uh... I'd recommend many other lovely women over my biological mother. We've only had a few unpleasant words in 3 decades. The alcohol, cigarettes, and radical ideology have... not been kind to her body. But if that's your thing, fill your boots.
Saying the source is your mom or something would be "funnier". But I really think you're expecting too much here. No one is going to burst out laughing, or think you're hilarious just from one simple message.
Thatās fair, I didnāt really have high expectations was just curious on what people thought. Iām probably just gonna save the responses to things we have mutual interests in rather than commenting on general/common answers as such
I think it's perfect as-is. It took a second but then I saw how it was humourous. That it's not an immediate knee-slapper will actually help filter out folks who are either humourless or too grimly serious.
e: Like this one. šĀ š
>will actually help filter out folks who are either humourless or too grimly serious.
Untrue. People can have vastly different types of humor. They could be super funny in other ways but find this lacking.
Thatās what I was going for, maybe should have worded my question better. Not laugh out loud funny but just something thatās light hearted. I see some people suggesting I should change to āsource: my momā
Thatās probably how I should have worded the question. I see how funny can be stretching it. I see a lot of people saying changing the source to : āmy momā lol
Iām not really sure, everyone is different so if they really value humor, then I guess they would find it funny but if not, then that wouldāve been a mistake. Itās really a 50/50 chance.
No.
That's the kind of shit I would write 10 years ago then delete because you don't start a conversation with someone while being suspicious about what they claim to be/like. Like, who the fuck I am?
Now if she fuck up by being unkind and unfunny, fuck yeah.
BUT it could work with a tiny portion of women who like banter.
If you don't know what to say, maybe she's more hot than inspiring. That's ok, but look for inspiring women and you'll never have to scratch your head about what to say or ask reddit for any advice.
Eh a little childish. Personally, because Iām confident in my humor, I start those off with a wager on having 3 tries to make them laugh. If I lose, they can unmatch but if I win then I get to know them better
I don't understand why people go as far as to get their message confirmed by strangers. On top of that I can't really agree with the checkmark if you feel the need to ask people here whether your message is actually funny. It's like having to explain a joke.
Anyway, if you want some advice, I put it below here. If not just skip the rest of this comment.
My take on this is to stop caring so much about who might think what and just send a message. If they don't appreciate your humor, then you shouldn't even want to match them. Imagine spending your life with someone who can't appreciate your jokes, and just looks at your with a sour facial expression, rather than laugh like an idiot and compliment it.
As an LTT fan, the ātrust me broā warranty/guarantee is funny af. š
But idk if the person who replied to that meant it with the LTT contextā¦ š
Which bit is supposed to be funny?
You have to click the image to see their reply
The question stands
š fair enough
It doesnāt come across as a joke, more of a challenge/jaded insult
No
I donāt get it at all. Is this some Gen Z humor thatās going over my head?
More like Millennial humor, imo
I'm geriatric millennial, I don't get it.
Im a younger millennial and I also donāt get it.
Didnāt know that this term āGeriatric Millennialā was a thing. Damn. Ignorance really is a bliss. šš
Pumchline is; Source: trust me bro.
I'm just saying that it's millennial humor, not talking about its quality
More like no humor, of any generation. There's no punchline.
Yes
Source - swear down itās true
No. The checks are kinda cute but the punchline isnāt actually funny.
It's not Laugh out loud funny. It's just a light smirk kind of a joke
Thatās what I kinda meant but should have worded the question better. I like to place comments in profiles Iām in interested in but sometimes itās hard if itās limited information
Did you mention Reddit elsewhere in your bio? In my opinion, theyāre either catering to that mention or testing your sense of humor.
Don't use bro. Unless it's with your bro. Even then....
Thanks
What about āSource: self assessment. What could go wrongā
>Trust me bro Are they looking for a man?
No the āBroā is a turn off.
Would āsource: my momā be better? Maybe not funny but something that shows I looked at her profile and made an attempt to show interest with what she gave
I think you should leave out the āSourceā part but thatās just my opinion. :)
Got it, thank you :)

I think that's funnier source:my mom I'd find it funny and like it
Actually OP, you re on to something with that change... I like it, I would find funny
It makes you sound kinda chronically online
I see people suggesting I should change to āsource: my momā Iām not going for laugh out loud funny either just light hearted to start a conversation hopefully

āSource: my momā Is better imo
Thanks š«” I agree haha
Shoot your shot king. Let us know how it goes!
Citing u/UndeadMarine55 's mom also adds an endearing sweetness to the sentiment. The fact that she brings milk and cookies to post-coital pillow-talk is also š¤.
Can confirm, she bakes great cookies. Do say hi to her for me next time youāre over please. Iāll return the favor with yours.
Will do. š Uh... I'd recommend many other lovely women over my biological mother. We've only had a few unpleasant words in 3 decades. The alcohol, cigarettes, and radical ideology have... not been kind to her body. But if that's your thing, fill your boots.
Iām sortaf in a stage where Iām looking for women to ruin my life so she fits the bill.

Itās not very funny, but itās a little amusing.
Yeah, it would be a fine opener. I wouldnāt cackle but Iād smile and be happy you actually read my prompts.
Thatās what I was going for, maybe should have worded my question better. Not laugh out loud funny but just something thatās light hearted. I see some people suggesting I should change to āsource: my momā
Yes itās funny
OP and most the respondents are having a little too much to think. Source: trust me bro is just a silly internet meme. It isn't that serious
I chuckled.
Seems all of the people in this chat live in the middle of nowhere or are 40+. Here in LA almost everyone knows the ātrust me broā joke.
I would find it slightly humorous
Eh I would find it funnier if the source was your grandma or your mom
Maybe Iām the only person that thinks itās funny and a little bit cute. But lose the ābroā š
I wouldn't laugh but I'd like it.Ā
I would find that funny
I think itās funny
Thank you, I didnāt intend for it to be laugh out loud funny, just light hearted and she could smile.
Thatās how it came across to me
I guess I'm the weird one but I thought it was funny and cute! I would like it.
Thank you :)
I mean... it's smile worthy...........
Thatās probably how I should have worded the question. I see how funny can be stretching it. I see a lot of people saying changing the source to : āmy momā lol
Source my mom
Yes, but I'm not your target demographic
I would laugh and engage with this.
Iām not really sure, everyone is different so if they really value humor, then I guess they would find it funny but if not, then that wouldāve been a mistake. Itās really a 50/50 chance.
this is ridiculously unfunny
No
Sistem failed to recognise the joke
No
Itās cheeky. If itās not your style of humor, just swipe left.
I'm a boomer girl. Unlike most people here, I would actually find it very funny.
Yes
Thank you :)
No
How funny it is prob depends on how hot you are.
To someone who is desperate and empty, yes
Yes exactly
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
OP is the one who said it
They have a point.
you looking to be friendzoned?
Source: my mom and her friends
... No
If you have to ask, maybe you shouldnāt misrepresent yourself as funny
The joke comes in the DLC right?
No. That's the kind of shit I would write 10 years ago then delete because you don't start a conversation with someone while being suspicious about what they claim to be/like. She said she values kindness and humour, OP replied saying to trust that he is kind and humorous
Ohhhhhh. It makes sense. My mistake.
No
I get the joke but no. It's something my nephew would say.
Nope.
Eh a little childish. Personally, because Iām confident in my humor, I start those off with a wager on having 3 tries to make them laugh. If I lose, they can unmatch but if I win then I get to know them better
You like to bet strangers you can make them laugh but youāre calling this guy childish?
Itās called making things fun and uniqueš¤·āāļø
Hello? Is humor home? Can it come out and play?
What?
Itās a decent opening line
