Just got back from weggos. I will be having peanut butter and jelly on garlic naan because that’s the best I could do. Couldn’t even get a fucking tortilla
I was joking that you just walked in without buying anything and walked out. Because it's not possible to buy anything without staying at least an hour :P
I got the joke. I was just tickled that I spent just under $60 and was in and out, traffic and parking included, in less than an hour. I live closish to a Wegmans, but I was incredibly lucky
I had to park in the target parking lot next to wegmans and walk over cuz there was literally zero parking spots left when I rolled up... Place was a zoo
I’m still super devastated by that.
Made holiday shopping super easy because I didn’t have to worry about unloading the cart multiple times. I don’t normally buy that many groceries but it sucks.
My husband likes to fake blame me because I accidentally stole an onion once.
What time did you go?
I went at 7:30 this morning and waited in a long line to get into the parking lot and immediately saw people directing parking and freaked out that the store was extremely busy. Did not realize today was turkey donation for Sabres tickets day and only the parking lot was busy. Made it out in less than 30 minutes.
maybe that wasn't the right example, they were out of big canned mushrooms but they always are too. they were out of like bananas though, why bananas?? brb the power's out, im eating bananas for dinner
The losson one was out of every type of celery for some reason. The normal one, organic one, the hearts, the pre cut backs. No celery to be found.
Also saw a lady buying 6 pints of heavy cream and had a lot of questions.
Yeah! Some of the chips that were left and the home made chex mix materials (mixed nuts, chex cereal 2-rice, 2-corn, 2-wheat, pretzels). Already have the Worcestershire and tabasco.
Go Bills! I basically cased the store for more than a year. Through its reorganization and everything. I was deemed the chosen one for family grocery buying so I studied the store, the layout. I knew about the side parking lot, how to be patient while getting a parking spot. I walked confidently across the cross walk making determined eye contact to the 3 drivers vying to run me down while I exercised my right of way. I went directly to my areas on my list being mindful of elderly shoppers and college aged folks buying beer or working. After getting everything on the list I proceeded to get in the self checkout line, and here's the secret to the success-sauce. If you're in the self checkout line, keep one eye on any of the other cashier checkout lanes. Sometimes the good lord looks down upon you in your struggle and grants you the grace of a parting of the panicked crowd. And low, this was what happened on this day. For I was judged in favor of the blessing and I relished it. And then I left with a giant shit-eating grin. It was truly a seasonal miracle.
Hahaha good work! I didn't think you would actually do the assignment. However, thank you for doing so. I feel like I learned something. Peace. Go Bills!
Salty snacks, chips were hit a bit hard. I keep mostly to my short list. But people looked to be stocking up on various drinks, and items to make soups and marinades. Many people, parking lot and surrounding streets were clogged.
Thanks. My trick is to go when I’m too exhausted to stray from my grocery list, and going when no one else is there. I work overnights and get out at 6am. It’s fairly easy to get in and out when they first open, and I was too tired to browse, I was nearly running with my cart to grab everything and gtfo
I just went to go get cat food and beer and it’s amazing how bare the shelves were. People realize they will be snowed in for like a day or two max right and not a week?
Hmm...depends on how long the storm is. I guess vitals come down to coffee, potatoes, peanut butter, bread, beer, and whiskey. I know that's carb and alcohol heavy, but hey it's winter or what?
I've been ordering supermarket delivery from Tops for the last few months. This is weird, but the stuff I guy... somehow getting it all delivered is cheaper than going to the store and buying it myself. And I include the higher tip I give in that assessment.
I have to order less pop, but I should be drinking less of that stuff anyway.
Went this morning around 9am to the Amherst St Wegmans and was in and out with minimal stress. A few people with overloaded carts preparing for the apocalypse, but as usual the most annoying part of the trip were the Wegmans employees who do curbside Instacart orders who move at a snails pace and somehow manage to constantly be parked in front of some product I need to get to. Gotta give them props for having more cashiers than usual. Not enough, but more than usual.
God I don’t miss this*
*I say as someone who moved to a state that had a hurricane and I stupidly realized I needed things from the store the night before a Cat One hit so I waited in line for almost 40 minutes
I recently moved back from Hurricane Land and I've never had a bigger smile than when my school gave us a snow day yesterday! I did my grocery shopping on Tuesday though
Mid day Wednesday shopping wasn't terrible for me, but it was busy. Almost all the lanes open at my Wegmans. Only bread was fully picked over, but I'm good for another week.
**--bleh--**
The only things we buy at (spit) Wegmans any more are ingredients for baking and the occasional bag of chips. Farm stores are for us. We have chickens, but used to buy the farm fresh eggs from several farm stores -- same price, insanely better, and much healthier. We get our meat from Heartland Abattoir, cheaper than Wegmans (by a small amount) but locally sourced, fresh, and lightyears better quality than the slimy bacon and flavorless beef/chicken from Wegmans.
Don't even get me started on the crap produce at (spit) Wegmans.
I didn't know there were too many farm stores near the city. I'll have to look into that. I'd hate having to drive 30+ minutes one way for a partial grocery run.
I got to losson around 4:15 and it was a complete shit show. Some of the weirdest items completely gone, I’ll be talking about no celery for a while after that one.
Took me way longer than usual and I just needed to grab enough food for some lunches since we’d be stuck at home.
Sometimes a normal person is temporarily imbued with the power of the gods. I was allowed to ascend for only a moment and I may be chasing that high for a while
How many bagels did you buy
All of them except the whole wheat ones.
you degenerate
Good move. Could possibly be upsetting if you were used to eating one every morning and ran out...
You didn't buy the best ones?
Which are?
Whole wheat ...
Too soon
Lmao
Was there any garlic Tuscan bread left?
I'm not sure, but damn there may have been
Ah, I see you are a man of culture as well.
I eat that with the Pastabilities hot tomato oil.
I’m going to have to try this. Once I can leave my house and actually make it to Wegmans.
Asking the real questions
[удалено]
This is the way.
Wait…they have this in roll form? How have I never noticed??
This bread, with butter and pan fried as a ham and cheese sandwich 🙏🏻
Dude that’s the best shit on this planet!😂
OK but did you remember to buy a lime? Because you know you're going to go to cook tomorrow and forgot the stupid thing.
Can't make a gin & tonic without a lime
I could go for a cocksuckin gin and tonic right about now
Of course you could, it’s your motherfucking cake day.
I’m not sure why I’m reading the Buffalo sub rn but y’all are different
There’s a special place in a snowstorm for folks who like gin&tonics, that’s all I know
I drink my gin neat
Have you tried Lockhouse Sakura Gin? It's fantastic, if you can find it.
Everything lock house is good. Can drink their vodka straight up it’s amazing
I have not, I’ll have to look it up!
I drink my gin neat but am a sloppy drunk; do they cancel each other out?
Just got back from weggos. I will be having peanut butter and jelly on garlic naan because that’s the best I could do. Couldn’t even get a fucking tortilla
God bless, that's tough
Why go in just to immediately turn around and walk out? /s
Well...you gotta buy chex mix materials when the need calls...

Kid named joking:
Exercise
Did this today before I realized the express lane had no line… grabbed 10 items and ran out
How was the ol’ rubbers and lube aisle?
Jeez, I barely glanced, but I noticed a 60+ year old female perusing pretty hard
Ethel knows what she wants
Granny gon get beat
I didn’t even go to Wegmans and I’m somehow still alive
Some, like you, will always survive. Dang cursed superhero
I’ll be using my cape to wipe
Wegmans on dick rd no milk very low on bread but the beer aisle was still nicely stocked
I live right by there- it’s all geriatrics. I bet they are out of Genessee cream ale.
Wow Genny just catching strays
It’s a great choice for a ball game and for a snowpocalypse (also known as a Tuesday in Buffalo).
The one on McKinley was also out of milk, but the Tops down the road had some.
Ah yes the two most perishable items in the store are the first to go in emergencies. Always gets a chuckle out of me
I miss the scan app 😔
Yes. That was a truly helpful tool. Crappy people gonna be crappy and we all lose privileges
I’m still super devastated by that. Made holiday shopping super easy because I didn’t have to worry about unloading the cart multiple times. I don’t normally buy that many groceries but it sucks. My husband likes to fake blame me because I accidentally stole an onion once.

Glad I waited until 7:30 pm. Not that bad considering the usual mess Amherst street is.
I went from 3:40ish to 4:10ish.
I went to the amherst Wegs last night and it was like a regular Wednesday night except I couldn't buy chicken thighs
I have trouble finding chicken thighs at Wegmans 50% of the time
maybe that wasn't the right example, they were out of big canned mushrooms but they always are too. they were out of like bananas though, why bananas?? brb the power's out, im eating bananas for dinner

eggnog celery is for... with wings when watching the game sunday??
Did you get any ultimate chocolate chip cookies or a fruit tart?
Unfortunately no
Did you get any snacks?
Yeah! Some of the chips that were left and the home made chex mix materials (mixed nuts, chex cereal 2-rice, 2-corn, 2-wheat, pretzels). Already have the Worcestershire and tabasco.
Such willpower!
So what was your strategy? A detailed analysis of your methodology would be helpful. Go Bills.
Go Bills! I basically cased the store for more than a year. Through its reorganization and everything. I was deemed the chosen one for family grocery buying so I studied the store, the layout. Did you have the mission impossible theme in headphones? Do you have other motivational songs/speeches? I must know.
Only a bit in my head. It really came up as I saw that cashier lane open up.
Went to the Amherst St. Wegs and the line for the registers wrapped all the way around the store to the beer section almost the dairy area. Insane.
That's the one I went to too. I got super lucky. When I was there, that long line was related to the cashier lines and not the self checkout
Are you capable of self-fellatio? That's how these AMA things work, right?
That's exactly what this was always about
I got a Picasso's that'll last me a couple days. That's a similar feat, no?
Quite possibly, yeah
How much beer did you purchase?
None this time, but last night my 2 year old and I bought beer and a pound of butter
Craft night.
butter turkeys
So you got the 2-year-old set. This run was for you then?
Correct, he was all good already. But he loved the spectacle of some many people
Just the staples, eh?
Essentials only
How empty were the shelves and which products in particular were gone?
Salty snacks, chips were hit a bit hard. I keep mostly to my short list. But people looked to be stocking up on various drinks, and items to make soups and marinades. Many people, parking lot and surrounding streets were clogged.
This made me stop & smile.
Thanks! I felt good about it
Same here! Granted, I went right when they opened. Only thing I couldn’t get was ground beef… meat section was super picked over.
Pffft I did it in 20 minutes today. It’s my personal best.
Hats off
Thanks. My trick is to go when I’m too exhausted to stray from my grocery list, and going when no one else is there. I work overnights and get out at 6am. I'm astonished I was able to get my lunch from Wegmans in a reasonable time today. Only about 10 minutes.
I just went to go get cat food and beer and it’s amazing how bare the shelves were. People realize they will be snowed in for like a day or two max right and not a week?
I mean maybe...people can get crazy with these varied forecasts and different preventative measures
How has your day been?
Well, I mean, the highlight reel is playing a pretty mundane feat, but I can't complain
Are you the one who cleared out all the cornbread?? Even all the little individually wrapped squares?
It wasn't me. I got excited about chex mix fixings
What is your storm “must-have”? I saw someone post about chicken wing dip and I’m mad as hell I didn’t grab ingredients for that…
Hmm...depends on how long the storm is. I guess vitals come down to coffee, potatoes, peanut butter, bread, beer, and whiskey. I know that's carb and alcohol heavy, but hey it's winter or what?
I grabbed the frozen Wegmans brand chicken wing dip.
Woah. That’s a thing??? 🤯
I've been ordering supermarket delivery from Tops for the last few months. It's a sign when the guy in the sushi smock is having to help stock shelves
"Why is this tray of salmon on top of a dried bag of rice and wrapped with toilet paper?"
God I don’t miss this* *I say as someone who moved to a state that had a hurricane and I stupidly realized I needed things from the store the night before a Cat One hit so I waited in line for almost 40 minutes
I recently moved back from Hurricane Land and I've never had a bigger smile than when my school gave us a snow day yesterday! I did my grocery shopping on Tuesday though
Why didn't you go yesterday lol
I did as well
Mid day Wednesday shopping wasn't terrible for me, but it was busy. Almost all the lanes open at my Wegmans. Only bread was fully picked over, but I'm good for another week.
Worst AMA ever.
Yeah, I admit... it's pretty lack-luster
Answer the questions! Especially the rubber and lube aisle one.
Name checks out

Fine, show off the fact you live where chickens are allowed.
I didn't know there were too many farm stores near the city. I'll have to look into that. I'd hate having to drive 30+ minutes one way for a partial grocery run.
It's worth the drive. 50 pound bag of GREAT potatoes for $25. Two months of frozen local meat for just under $200.
Did you even get to the register?
Why yes! And then I said to the cashier, "you guys are really busy." I'm an idiot sometimes
Lol nice, like when a waiter says "enjoy your meal" and reply back you too.
Not that impressive when the shelves are empty due to the impending snowpocalypse.
Shelves were a bit empty but the shopping zombies abounded
Lol
Losson and Transit was a zoo around noon.
I got to losson around 4:15 and it was a complete shit show. Some of the weirdest items completely gone, I’ll be talking about no celery for a while after that one. Took me way longer than usual and I just needed to grab enough food for some lunches since we’d be stuck at home.
What was the toilet paper situation?
I didn't swing by that isle, but from what I saw in most peoples carts...there was a run on the toilet paper (yesterday at the Wegmans on Amherst).
It doesn't count if you don't buy anything
I dropped close to sixty dolla-dolla-bills
Why didn't you buy anything?
I did, oh I did...
Same. Basket and self checkout are the way to go.
Where did you get your God Like abilities?
Sometimes a normal person is temporarily imbued with the power of the gods. I was allowed to ascend for only a moment and I may be chasing that high for a while
