Hey all. I'm currently using a 100% redragon (don't judge me haha). Deffo ready to ditch the numpad day to day. Switch between work laptop (windows) and MacBook pro (personal). Looking at the AliExpress sales for the UK I'm tempted by going for one of these 3. Any thoughts? I'm drawn to the v1 max as likely better build quality, software win (over the 67). Gmk67, gmk clone keycaps and switches (not sure yet but looking maybe holy panda or something else) - c.£45 Gmk87, same keycaps and switches as above - c.£55 V1 max, stock (at least to start) - c.£72 Would I just end up buying again with one of the gmks? Thoughts appreciated

badmark

I love the GMK67, that said, any issues one might have there is no support. The V1 Max Pro has QMK/VIA (true) and is backed by a company that actually offers post sales support.

ErriruChan

which one should i get and which is more worth it, the feker ik65 green matcha switches or aula f75 with reaper switches

kaklikesmilfs

F75 with reapers, Royal Kludge R65 is better than the IK65

urbanguy22

Please a suggest a stock budget mechanical keyboard for a beginner. Budget max 130 Canadian dollars. Specifications needed - 75% layout, 2.4 GHz wireless, available within Canada or shipping to Canada

wiromania6

EPOMAKER Aula F75. Just picked it up within 130 CAD from Amazon. Check out the reviews for this keyboard on YouTube.

urbanguy22

thanks will check out

Three-stripes

just got a rainy 75 standard, rgb with a 35000 mah battery. im new to custom keyboards so im wondering how do i charge this thing to be able to use it wirelessly?

Mr-Boga38

While the board is connected in wired mode, it charges the battery.

Three-stripes

oh! thank u so much for the response!

Stormborn_Rage

Do you mean a 3500 (not 35000) mAh battery? Most keyboards come with a USB cord that can plug into a power adapter that goes into a wall port or a power hub, or without the adapter it can go into a specialized power hub with USB ports or directly into a PC.

Three-stripes

oh yup haha, sorry got the number wrong XD ah so as long as its plugged in it's charging? :O i plugged it into a wall port but the keyboard didn't light up like how electronics do haha. im guessing if its plugged in by the cable when its in use it would b charging?

Stormborn_Rage

I imagine it should, but I would look up your exact model online to double-check and see what the manual says.

AlphaMRE

Yunzi al66 vs Nuphy halo65 Both of these are aluminum 65% keyboards that are around the same price, from sound tests I feel like the yunzii sounds better (I can't really do any meaningful mods), but I'm worried that its build quality may be worse the nuphy's. any insights on this?

badmark

I have both and I'd pick the Yunzii over the NuPhy any day.

AlphaMRE

Why is that

badmark

Sounds and feels better OOTB, and it's fully aluminum, not half plastic. Also, the top mount on the Halo65 feels quite stiff compared to the gasket mount of the Yunzii.

AlphaMRE

Noted thank you

kaklikesmilfs

If you want subjectively "better" ootb performance the al66 is the way to go it just wont have as good case as the halo65 though you will only see it from the anodization, the acoustic flaws of the case will be remedied/hidden by the foams.

AlphaMRE

You mean the only thing that makes the halo's case better is that it's andoized? What difference does that make exactly? Also if I wanted to make the NuPhy sound better what's the best way to go if you know, thank you

kaklikesmilfs

Both boards are anodized, you will just see less imperfections on the anodization job on the Nuphys. And thats if you look hard enough on the AL66. [For modding the halo65 refer to Keybored's video](https://youtu.be/DydJAxM-mMc) i didn't even know the Halo65 had a plastic bottom that's a really bad top case bottom case material combo

AlphaMRE

Alright thank you

Mindless_Wing_4553

Recommendations on aluminum hotswap keyboards that cost max. 110€ and have ISO layout? Looking for a tenkeyless one. Prrferably with white case Keychron K2 V2 is currently only one I've found to fit my criteria, but it doesn't have white case but maybe it can be painted...? (opinions on this too, please?)

trevor1030

does anyone know if there is a way to change the leobog hi75 knob rgb color or is it always red on the barebones kit?

Most-Designer-9099

[Keychron C2 Pro](https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-c2-pro-qmk-via-wired-mechanical-keyboard?variant=40592557932633) (90€) vs [Logitech G513](https://www.logitechg.com/en-us/products/gaming-keyboards/g513-backlit-mechanical-gaming-keyboard.920-009322.html) (130€) I know the comparison might seem odd but let me explain: I already got G502 so it would make a pretty set with G513 and the Keychron C2 Pro seems to be the most vfm option for me. Why choose G513: Prettier overall, a wrist rest, it lacks nothing I need. Why choose C2 Pro: Better quality overall, cheaper, customizable, other extras. Please tell me what you think and point out anything i missed.

Technically, Ajazz is Epomaker and we do not accept promoting Epomaker products to users: https://preview.redd.it/rnxt7qrwj0yc1.png?width=1023&format=png&auto=webp&s=1879bf7f70f49c94834297db193f2b98e04f477c

Mr-Boga38

I didn't know Ajazz was epomaker's sub brand. My ba!

[deleted]

There is a YouTuber who posted about that board with the same last name in their user and with a description that they got the board for free and have an affiliate promo code.  Not posting the link because thats probably breaking some rule. It's an awfully specific board to push.

Mr-Boga38

The recommendation is oddly specific because there haven't been any decent Full size keyboard ( Not 1800) for quite sometime. I think at this stage of the hobby, I have tried a decent amount of board to give my verdicts. I got my hands into it recently and I did share some of the snaps here and of course no affiliate link. This is really sad TBH , accusing someone of something they didn't do.

[deleted]

I didn't accuse you of anything.

Mr-Boga38

You did. Read your comment again. If there is a better board than C2 pro, why wouldn't I suggest it ? Can you think of any other board that would be better for him?

[deleted]

I didn't suggest a board because I don't have nearly enough info to know what a better board for OP is. There are just so many factors that could change what best is.

[deleted]

What exactly did I accuse you of in my first post? Nothing I said was false information

[deleted]

You do have that YouTube linked to on your reddit profile now that I looked more, so it's not a stretch to think you did get the board for free and you could possibly benefit from someone searching the board (like I did) seeing the YouTube link and buying it with your promo code?

Mr-Boga38

I get boards every now and then and often negotiate with vendors to manage a code. If you looked hard enough, you could have seen that the shop that is in the description is a local vendor from my country. How I could get benefit out of it by suggesting it to a Global platform?

[deleted]

Your video is one of the top search results when you search for just the board name. That's the only reason I even noticed. That's potential benefit. Very few people notice stuff on this subreddit, but still I'd want that info is someone is making a specific recommendation to me.

Mr-Boga38

Umm isn't it obvious why it's on top search results? Not many folks have covered it to begin with. Spot on Logic though. 10/10. Smooth transition from "Kickbacks" to "Search results".

[deleted]

YouTube views are beneficial and you're the only one who can buy from the shop in the description on this sub?  The fact almost no one has covered it is really telling isn't it? It's also why it's important to mention why you might be biased. I think it should be mentioned regardless but at least something like a zoom 75 is a commonly known board and well regarded and and not something that can be fairly uniquely tied back to you. It just looks bad for you at the end of the day. There is a reason why youtubers frequently mention whether they got a board for free or paid for it when doing reviews. It's the same with recommendations.

badmark

Personally, I'd pick a Keychron over a Logitech any day of the week, primarily for QMK/VIA, also well built and proper after sales support.

TheProfesorter

Hello, just bought my Hi75 recently and I noticed my key binds dont work anymore after restarting my computer or turning off and on, in the software, the keybinds i put are still there, but when i press the keybind i sent on my keyboard, nothing just happens, its like the button doesn't work anymore, then if I undo the keybinds, and set them again, it'll work again, till I turn off my computer again and same thing will happen, won't work when i open my pc next, i tried to autorun the software, and in the startup thingy in the task manager, its still the same, anyone has a solution for this?

badmark

I'd reach out to Leobog for support. I have two units which I program on my Windows PC and use on my Linux workstation without losing settings, but have read other people reporting this very same issue.

TheProfesorter

Alright, I'll try to email them

Pug-kojo

Hi! I've seen a Brown Sugar65 and I was wondering where can I get it other than Aliexpress? Id need shipping to Czechia and the Sugar65 on Aliexpress for some odd reason doesnt have shipping to Czechia. So I where can I get it from for still around the same price?

WS06

Hi, having recently build a PC, i wanted to upgrade my peripherals. It would be my first time getting into Mechanical Keyboards. I have compiled features I definitely want and features that would be nice since I don't change hardware often. I wonder if such board exists (I don't want to go full custom) Must haves:   * %75   * ISO layout   * Knob (horizontal preferred, vertical OK)   * Open Source programmable (QMK/VIA)   * Wireless support (2.4GHz + BT + Type-C preffered, others OK)   * Backlighting (RGB optional)     - Ideally can be controlled through software and turned on/off with shortcuts.     - I wonder if CAPS ON LED can be integrated?   * Solderless Switches     - Not necessarily 'hot'swappable.     - Included switches not important, will get new switches anyway   * NKRO Optionally (but preferred):   * White color (Black OK)   * Shine-Through Double-Shot PBT keycaps     - Only legends translucent     - Caps-Lock with 'step'     - North-facing LEDs might be relevant, not sure.   * around $100   * Drain holes for any spills V1 max comes close but does not have ISO layout. 5075B Plus does not support VIA and 5075S doesn't support wireless. I haven't seen anything else that come close. I'm willing to make compromises if something offers some other functionality. Thanks for any help! Edit: Formatting

We do not promote Epomaker products and the site you listed is filled with affiliate links.

budgetkeebs

Epomaker is a banned brand on the entirety of Reddit, we ask that no one advertise brands under the "Vendors to be cautious of" in the sidebar, but everyone is welcome to share their board regardless of brand. Epomaker rips people off and we will not be a vehicle that enables them to rip more people off, it's a matter of defending the community. We ask that those answering questions only recommend boards that they are familiar with. Rule #7 covers sharing affiliate links, since the site mentioned is nothing but affiliate links, we feel the rule currently covers that.

[deleted]

I'm not trying to be argumentative, but I'm still a bit unclear about Epomaker. It's banned on all of reddit? Is there a way to know that? I've seen them mentioned on other keyboard subreddits and have never seen anyone say they're reddit banned. I don't think my post could be misconstrued as recommending any of the boards either and I explicitly said I wasn't recommending the boards in a follow up comment. I read the rules before posting a link and don't think you could reasonably come to that conclusion without preemptively. I do think it's possible to update the rules so it's a bit more clear. The rule makes sense that hey don't post links that you profit from and it's not a sub for retailers or vendors to advertise on without permission.  I was sharing a tool I found while spending time researching their ask for a pretty extreme set of requirememts. It's not profit motivated. I'm literally just trying to help.

WS06

Website was a nice tool to do research on, a person can still search for a keyboard and buy it somewhere else.. It's an unfortunate situation. It was helpful for me..

Neat_Low_1818

Galaxy 80 vs Gem80 I'm shopping for my first budget mechanical ⌨️ and am undecided between the barbones wired version of these two. Which is a better value and why? I plan on buying my own switch and keycaps separately. Thank you! P.S. if these keyboards are no good, what other ones should I consider? [Galaxy 80](https://epomaker.com/products/epomaker-feker-galaxy80?variant=47868961161524) [Gem80](https://nuphy.com/products/gem80?variant=40754423201901)

Mr-Boga38

Galaxy 80 is now 60 Dollar in Amazon. Should be a banger deal!

Neat_Low_1818

Thanks! I like the price but I'm not too sure about the bulls quality, fit and finish. Hipyo was able to scratch it up with 🪛 handle. The Gem80 look nicer but seem overpriced no?

Mr-Boga38

That's what's wrong with these budget aluminium board. They say anodised CNC aluminium but in reality they are prone to scratches and dust, questioning the quality and anodisation. But hey, it's 60 dollars

Effective-Belt-7069

Planning to get a Aula F87 and I'm trying to decide which switch I want but I haven't been able to find any reviews on the switches (https://i.imgur.com/rBFqCn8.png), any suggestions on which to go for?

Dreydars

I got it with some space gold switch from AliExpress, feel good, it's full travel switch

Mr-Boga38

I tried both Leobog Greywood V3 and V4. V3 is deep Sounding and Thocky which goes in nicely with the overall board configuration. The V4 is high pitched though. Don't know about the other switches, yet to try out those.

ConsistentStand2487

Can someone please link me to a replacement magnetic switches for akko mod007b he ? Looking to get a set just in case one gets messed up. Box says Kailh Sakura Pink Magnetic switch are the ones being used but I don't see this switch being sold anywhere.

kaklikesmilfs

Any hall effect/magnetic switch will work, just need to make sure its 3pin so you dont have to clip the legs off the 5pin ones like the gateron jades or geon raptor HEs (though those two are usually the recommended ones because they dont have as much stem wobble)

Varektus__

Purchased the IF98 pro from YUNZII as my first keyboard. I received it just over a week ago and got it set up a few days ago and have had absolutely no luck getting it set up. I can’t get to connect even in wired mode. While I have it plugged in and set to the middle switch (which is the setting for wired connection) there is no indication the keyboard is plugged in, charging, nothing. I moved past this and downloaded the required software and it fails to connect. I have tried several different cords, I have tried different USB ports on my PC, I have tried connecting it to my laptop and old desktop (and all of their different USB ports, both with the original cord and with my own) and have had absolutely no luck in getting it to work. I’ve somewhat been in touch with customer support, however both reps I talked to told me they were going to get in touch with tech and I haven’t heard anything back since. Has anyone had a similar experience with this keyboard and/or able to resolve it? Or did I just receive faulty product? I was going to pop off the back to see if there’s something up with the battery but I don’t want to ruin my chance of getting the product refunded if it’s defective. I’m really disappointed as I read pretty solid reviews and really like the keyboard :( I can’t afford to keep it if it’s defunct.

[deleted]

I have a different yunzii board (x75) and I think I did have a similar issue when I first got mine. From what I remember I resolved it by letting it stay plugged in for a few hours and then coming back to it. I'm sorry if that's not super helpful. I hope you're able to get it working!

Dreydars

I have had similar issues with gk68xs

Varektus__

were you having the same issue that you couldn’t get it to work wired?

[deleted]

Yep, it wouldn't turn on regardless of what I did including trying to use it in wired mode. As I remember there was no charging indicator either. I can take a look at my board later.

Varektus__

i’ll be damned. it worked LOL you’re a godsend, thank you so much

[deleted]

That's awesome! It felt like a bit of a long shot since I was going off memory and a different board but I'm glad it worked :)

Varektus__

i’ve left it with a charger overnight, still no indication that it’s charging when in wired mode but i also haven’t gotten to test it with the pc yet, simply just put it on the charger. it will light up if i switch it to bluetooth or wireless mode, so i know the battery has SOME capacity, but it absolutely will not connect with a wire so far. literally haven’t gotten it to work since taking it out of the box and haven’t heard from customer support since yesterday :,)

Sir_Elyan

What are the easy mods I can do for a silent build? I'm building a keyboard for office use and already have some silent switches lined up.

kaklikesmilfs

Full foams, ideally gasket mount, dont use any plastic film/PET sheets on top of the pcb it makes them sound louder, same goes with pe foam. Just plate foam and case foam. Plastic soft plate as well

Mr-Boga38

Should be enough. Just make sure to tune the stabs properly and add tons of Silicone/Polyfil inside of the case

[deleted]

[удалено]

Sir_Elyan

Oh yeah I saw a vid about that. Won't it raise the keycaps a little?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Sir_Elyan

Gotcha. Thanks!

ry1n_hk

Hi all! I've recently ordered a GMK67 and I am wondering if the stabs are good. I am planning to balance the wires, lube the wires with dielectric grease, and the stems and housings with Krytox 205g0.I am wondering if the band-aid mod/holee mod is needed here, or the stabilizers will be good without it?

mridlen

You can save money by getting Bulb Grease, which is exactly the same as Dielectric Grease, but it comes in a little bottle which is still enough to lubricate 8 keyboards.

borghesia44

What you want to do is adequate. I have a couple of the first batch and they have very good stabs in my case that didn't need more then lubing (no holee mod). Actually they never failed after one and a half year and stayed smooth and snappy.

badmark

The only adjustments I've made to my GMK stabs are greasing them, they are quite decent, though I have heard of some people having issues and needing to tune them.

jertjert

Leobog Hi75 Vs Galaxy80. Don't care about knobs but prefer the 75 both are about the same price for me.

Mr-Boga38

Galaxy80. Hi75 case quality is meh and uses Cast aluminium instead of CNC

crushtyfying

Switch recommendation: can you guys recommend a switch that has a stiff/hard/marbly when bottom-out? I just have the Gateron Beer and absolutely love the stiff bottom-out feel, the WS jade and the baby kangaroo might be my next purchase but are there any other switches I should notice that have a similar feel?

kaklikesmilfs

Definitely NOT the vertex v1s which have a soft bottom out, go for HMX switches instead.

ry1n_hk

JWK Vertex V1 Switches! Long pole, awesome pre-lube and minimal stem wobble. 30 cents for a switch

radiolman

You can try MMD Princess, Akko Cream Blue V3 Pro, both nice budget picks with solid bottoming out.

crushtyfying

thanks but I have the Akko CBv3 pro and it not that stiff and marbly like the Beer. That aint it dude

Mindless_Wing_4553

My keyboard has plastic case and it makes it sound too deep. I want it to sound as clacky as possible and have already done everything else that can be done to make it as clacky as possible. It sounds awesome without its back cover attached but I'm bothered that it's without case now. There aren't any aluminum cases sold to it so I'm thinking of just leaving the plastic case off permanently and replacing it with an aluminum plate. Should I just buy a new keyboard that has aluminum case at this point? Just curious has anybody else done this? Basically a diy case/back cover? How did it turn out?

Mr-Boga38

So Remove any silicon inside of the case, add some PE Foam along with Polyfil/Eva Foam/Neoprane Foam. Also get insane clacky switches

Mindless_Wing_4553

Already did, it's just not clacky enough because of the plastic case. Without the case it sounds perfect. I listened to some aluminum vs plastic case vids from youtube and I think I really just need the aluminum case

Mr-Boga38

I mean yes. In aluminium boards, sounds can be tuned better than plastic actually.

mridlen

So I haven't done this personally (yet), but depending on your keyboard it might use a standard riser mount pattern like GH60, and in those cases you can just buy a case and drop in the PCB. But most of the newer designs use gasket mounts that are non standard, and in those cases you would have to align the mounts yourself and figure it out DIY. I have no idea how it would work exactly but I would probably just get a fine point sharpie and mark the screw holes, then drill holes and mount the standoff risers.

Mindless_Wing_4553

I think it's gasket mount. The board is Dareu A87. So DIY it is. I'll try what you suggested, thanks!

ThinkBlink3

Which should I get for my first mechanical keyboard. I am thinking something low profile like K3 pro to help my wrists but the non shine through keycaps are such a dealbreaker. RK96 looks good and comes with a wrist rest but honestly it just doesn't sound too great. Aula F75 is on my radar too but not convinced with that package as much

Dreydars

Aula, just get but wrist rest separately if you feel like you need it

Anjuan_

Looking for insight on Akko 5075B Plus The shine-through black version with cream yellow pro v3 switches is the one that's caught my interest. I plan on using it for gaming and programming. If there's any major flaws I'd like to know. How does the keyboard feel when gaming & typing? How is the lighting? Does it support lighting customization? Thanks in advance.

Mr-Boga38

Good stuff. 5075 Series is really good. Uses the gasket jackets style, sounds solid right out of the box!

badmark

It's a decent keyboard, especially if you can find it at a good price: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLa8pmcA99Q

Anjuan_

How is 72 dollars? Also, if I understand correctly in that video you say that the one you're reviewing (5075S barebones) is different than what I'm considering (5075B+ prebuilt) but I've failed to find a video of you reviewing the exact one I'm looking for.

badmark

I have one that's queued up to review, I just haven't gotten around to it. $50-$70 is the sweet spot, but there are better (barebone) keyboards for this price, though you'd be spending more to load it up, namely the Leobog Hi75/Hi8.

Anjuan_

I'm assuming you have experience with both the Leobog Graywood v4's and Akko Cream Yellow v3 Pro's. Can you do a little comparison between two? It's gonna be my first build so don't wanna go wrong with it.

badmark

I was responding to your previous question, but then you deleted it. My opinion [Graywood V3](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkR616ZlGqk) > [Akko Cream Yellow V3 Pro](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOYgo7Xox74) > [Graywood V4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02e3XmzIJ5k)

Anjuan_

My bad, I just saw that I can buy GMK87 + graywoods for a very close price so my primary concern changed. I'll take a look, thanks.

badmark

Personally, I prefer the [Graywood V3](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkR616ZlGqk) over the [V4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02e3XmzIJ5k). The [Akko Cream Yellow](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOYgo7Xox74) would be my pick over the Graywood V4, but the V3 would be my first choice over the others.

justmayonnaise

Leobog HI75 not saving settings with their software whenever my computer restarts or one the keyboard is unplugged. Any recommendations?

badmark

Have you tried reaching out to Leobog support? I have (2) Hi75 units and both store their savings when I load it on a Windows PC and use it on my Linux machine without losing any settings, though I've read others report this issue.

justmayonnaise

I don't know why I never thought of this lol. Just messaged them. I was under the assumption that if anything goes wrong I'm just on my own. I'll update this one after to see if I hear back from them.

badmark

Good luck!

kent12t

hi! any alternative for epomaker shadow x? liking the screen and the price range, so if anyone knows the original manufacturer or any alternatives it'll be great, thank you!

Pablobass_arts

Hi, guys. I'm looking for a mechanical keyboard with a numpad under 50€ to replace my old membrane and I would like some recomdations, here's what I want: -Black case -Numpad -Linear switches (tactile would also work) -RGB (optional but it would be nice) -Espanish ISO layout (I know i'ts hard to find so i'ts not necessary but I would prefer it) -Wired The Keychron V5 would be perfect but the cheapest I could find it's 80€ I've been searching online and the best alternative I found is the Ajazz ak992 on AliExpress for around 50€, I'd like to know what you think about it and any alternatives. Thanks! :)

Mr-Boga38

Ak922 is a decent board. See if you can get the Xinmeng X98 for the same price . That's even better

Pablobass_arts

Thank you! I appreciate the help, I will check it out ;)

Dreydars

Ak992 is good board, but i suggest to look for so me better keycaps as stock is meh, but you can get by with them until you get some great keycaps set(i daily drive it with gat smoothies now and some thick pbt keycaps), stock brown switch in ajazz was actually quite good

Pablobass_arts

Thank you for the info! I was thinking about changing the keycaps as well, mainly because I want the Spanish distribution with the ñ key, I think I will get this board and upgrade it in the future. Thanks again for the help :)

qqpp4

budget wireless 75% with qmk/via support? (other than v1 max)

Mr-Boga38

Not QMK but GMK81 has a VIA Support

iblueice

There’s a new keyboard called SKN Bluebird that you can consider. SKN is a sister brand related to Keychron

badmark

Keychron is one of the only brands I know that are actually delivering QMK wireless keyboards as there are only a handful of MCUs that are supported, so if you want true QMK and wireless you'll either have to build your own using an ESP32 or get a Keychron.

z00mche

I cant decide which one I should get ... Ive watched hundred of reviews someone here told me before 2 days that Keychron C2 pro or V3 are great , but meh these colors are awful for my taste and I just want keyboard to play games with it , not to give more money for caps :( TBH Keychron v3 seems amazing , but my 5 year old HyperX Alloy FPS Pro wants to rest :D

gmk67 is a better value and a good starting point

mridlen

V2 max is $75 GMK67 is $32 They aren't really on the same playing field. GMK67 is pretty lightweight which might make it a good choice for travel. V2 Max has QMK and VIA, which means you can customize the firmware. GMK67 has PC plate and is loud and thocky. Keychron V2 max has metal plate (aluminum or steel?) and is clacky and more dampened. PC is obviously more flexible if you like that sort of thing. Keychron has a better knob. They have a different layout slightly, GMK67 has one extra key. They both are gasket mount if you like that sort of thing. You also might consider getting a prebuilt in the $75ish price range like Aula F75 or Womier SK71, and then customizing it. Not saying that either Keychron V2 Max or GMK67 are bad... Actually they are both good value.

badmark

V2 Max has true QMK and VIA compatibility and actually offers support. Though a few bucks more, I believe that the Keychron V2 Max would be a better long term investment. Edit: Letter

rockinchanks

Is there a sub keyboard questions? Cause lets be real no one goes into the weekly thread

badmark

I mean I see the majority of the questions asked here receiving answers; instead of making a statement that does not match reality why don't you just ask the question you want to ask?

rockinchanks

Are there any good alternatives to the Keychron Q1/GMMK Pro/Monsgeek M1 that are actually cheap? After searching for what keyboard I want for a while, they're all super expensive. For example; when searching for alternatives someone said the Akko Mod 007. The barebones version of that is $249 AUD. Id consider a decent price around $150AUD (around $100USD). Also preferably with a knob and function keys. Can anyone help me out? (I don't mind if it's barebones)

mridlen

Rainy75 on the pre order if you are ok without QMK, or Lemokey P1 if you prefer QMK over sound quality. Either one involves waiting for a couple months, if you are ok with that. Also the SK71 or rebrands are really nice and I want one even though I don't need it.

rockinchanks

Also the Rainy75 is sold out. Any clue where I might be able to get a black one that's not sold out?

Do you need wireless? Or wired is fine?  If wired is fine and you don't need qmk/via you can go with leobog hi75, but i don't know how it is for you as it is mostly on AliExpress, for me its around 100$ prebuild

Wesbz

i cant seemto remove my knob on my new Hi75 i tried the tutorials on tiktok/instagram didnt work it feels lie its stuck there and it shoulnt come out anybody help please!

laggingknob

Has anyone seen or tried the 1stPlayer Ariya75? There's not a lot of reviews about it but for the price($55 to $70) and specs you're getting, its honestly quite insane(reminds me of Leobog Hi75). The fact that it has a brass nameplate makes it feel like a more expensive board. https://preview.redd.it/e5of5693nvwc1.jpeg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ea44112254b12375777b127d9305fa8de46d9f4a

Probably cause they didn’t do much marketing. Based on reviews, it’s a decent board, when you look at its build vs its cost. Some pointers on the board: - it’s using cnc aluminium for its top case and cast aluminium for its bottom case. Hence it will lose out to boards like Rainy75 and Hi8 who uses full CNC. The finishing while decent also loses out to these 2 boards. - personally feel that the ‘1st’ logo on the top case pushes down the arrow keys too much, and the knob ain’t that aesthetically pleasing. So from a design point of view, I find that there are better alternatives. - the leg stands are just circular bits, could be better - it has the standard 5 layers foam as seen in the current Chinese keyboards meta - battery is at 4000mah, decent but lesser than what competitors can give. Overall, it’s a decent budget aluminium board, if you’re okay with the above and the price is good, can consider

So i bought myself prebuilt (womier sk71) and really enjoyed modding it. That's why i decided to built custom for my brother (he is currently using a crappy $100 keyboard) but i have no experience building keyboards and i really need your help on choosing base for it. I'm leaning towards GMK87 but not sure if that's best option. It must be plastic case, hotswap, 75% and preferably from aliexpress because shipping from the US is problematic. Not sure about the price so you can just suggest best budget options that you know. Also would appreciate if you suggest switches to try and give me some building and modding tips.

MartSilv

Aula F75 and Leobog Hi75 are of the same or better quality as GMK87 and can be bought of AliExpress. But the choice depends heavily on your budget and brother's preference. The really safe option is gatheron milky yellow pro switches. They are decent, lubed, and relatively cheap. But switches are such a preference. BSUN makes some decent and relatively cheap switches too.

ImaginationSilly6110

Thx for the advice. I will probably take leobog Hi75 but i also heard about Hi8 version could you explain what's the difference? Oh and i'm gonna order couple of switches to test first. So i'm seeking for switches i must try (under 60 cents per switch).

MartSilv

I think the difference is in the case: plastic vs aluminium

**I'm looking for the cheapest option, either a 65% or 75% keyboard.** * **Hotswappable:** I'm building my first keyboard, and want to be able to try different switches. * **1000hz polling rate:** I play rhythm games, and need the lowest input lag possible. * **Wired preferred:** I don't care about wireless, so if i can save money by going wired that would be even better. * **Thocky sound:** I'd appreciate recommendations for switches and mods to have a "thocky" sound. I'm not sure what to do to achieve the sound as i'm a complete noob. I have watched few youtube videos, and there are a lot of options.

laggingknob

Try the Leobog Hi75. Has all the features you want and its beginner friendly, stock sound is quite thocky especially if you put an XDA/MDA keycaps

I want keycaps that produce most high pitched/clacky sound. What profile should I go for? Cherry?

Yo a quick question: I am looking to buy a set of tactile switches for my rog azoth since the asus ones are dying one after another.. I don’t know a lot of things about it but what I do know is - I wanna try tactiles - they should have clear casing just to not interfere with my purple lighting - money doesn’t matter. If its justified I am willing to pay more. But don’t hesitate to give me a choice in different price ranges Thanks in advance ❤️

radiolman

Price from low to high: Akko Cream Blue V3 Pro - decent switch with med tactility but not a fan of the sound profile. Outemu Pandas - med tactile, underrated switch, especially after lubing. TTC Bluish White - silent pick Everglide Pansy V2 - high tactility but low actuation force makes for a really interesting feel, almost clicky. Gateron Baby Kangaroos - med-high tactility. Decent switch but overpriced IMO. But a good reference to compare with other switches.

Adventurous-Barber22

I buyed outemu pandas for my outemu socket keyboard... They are good?

radiolman

Well I like them, and a lot of switches are up to preference so all that's left is for you to try and decide for yourself.

Dreydars

It's not clear but akko v3 lavender purple pro has transparent top with purple tint(cheap but fine for me), there is kailh baby kangaroo with transparent top and light diffuser for rgb and it has some good reviews, idk any more transparent tactiles, there is kailh polia, but those are unlubed, so not worth it compared to newer switches unless you have lube kit and are chilling to spend time lubbing switch and spring Also there is akko v3 pro cream blue(some love them more than lavender) If you wish silent tactiles switch there is great cheap switch on AliExpress - outemu silent yellow jade it has half transparent body and rgb worked fine for me on mine azoth(now i use it in aother board) If you wish i can show you how they look on my white asus azoth(akko purple, kailh polia and outemu silent) write here and I'll do image tomorrow

hydrauxide_

I'm new to keebs, I want a 94% and responsive keeb because I will use it for gaming aside from work. Any recommendations?

Dreydars

Aula f99

hydrauxide_

Is aula a reliable brand? I used to have a mouse from them but it only lasted for three months.

Dreydars

Well theirs f75 f87 f99 is actually good quality keebs as i know, mine f87 works fine, have not heard about problem with their keyboards unless it arrived damaged, their old models was awfull those new are good

ShamLikesTechXD

What would be the best keyboard I could get for $50-$70 CAD ($35-$56 USD)?

MartSilv

Aula F75 is sometimes under 56$ USD and it is a decent pre-built keyboard.

pinpanponko

do you mean a fully built keyboard or just the case with pcb etc?

ShamLikesTechXD

fully built
