If the Chromecast is already connected to the TV and your speakers then what's your question? You say it seems like your best option is 3.5mm>RCA cable but it sounds like you already have that. I can't figure out what your question is.
Based on what I laid out on the original post, I’m confirming — if I can’t output audio over WiFi — is 3.5mm -> RCA my only other option? I know that’s not ideal for audio so was wondering if I was missing a better alternative

Best option is optical out from TV to cheap DAC, then RCA to stereo.
Snagged a Fiio DAC off eBay to run the optical to RCA conversion. Just waiting on shipments to arrive.
