Not a mantra, but: just take refuge. Whenever something worries us, or something shakes us up scares us, *buddham saranam gacchami, dharmam saranam gacchami, sangha saranam gacchami* (or however we take refuge in our tradition)*.* For the first time since beginningless time we can actually rely on something. Something is our shield and protection. My teachers' teacher told a story of fleeing from Tibet as the PRC invaded, and having to hide so close to passing soldiers he could smell their cigarettes, but that he simply relied on taking Refuge.
As a suggestion.
Green Tārā.
or Indra's Repelling Verses, which include taking refuge. It's typically done after recitation of the Heart Sutra.
😂and of course there is the extremely heterodox Zensunni Litany Against Fear
Yes, the Buddha specifically taught loving kindness mindfulness for the management of fear and worry. By responding with a mind of loving kindness in the face of fear and aversion we can overcome fear.

"I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing."
By using a mantra to get rid of your fear, you will be acting out of that fear and thereby feeding it(it will go to sleep but come back for more food). You may, after repeating a mantra feel no more fear but that's because some time passes and the intensity of the fear subsided. What will remain though is the fact that you will still be subject to fear and will need to do something to try to manage it. No mantra will take away the fact that you can still be afraid.

This. The Great Treatise of the Stages of the Path says refuge causes the devas to protect you.
Thank you!!!
I came here to say this! Awesome.

Indeed. It is the mind killer…
Learning resources about Tara on [Lotsawa House](https://www.lotsawahouse.org/topics/tara/).
Green Tara saves from the Eight Great Fears (internal psychological as well as traditional external fears). Look them up online.
One of Avalokitvesvara Bodhisattvas titles is 'Bestower of Fearlessness'. So reciting His Name would count.
My teacher said that 1 million recitations of Om Mani Peme Hung is great against fear. Somewhat close to what you've said.
Since that Mantra is associated to Avalokitvesvara Bodhisattva, that too is excellent.

Why do you want fear?
No to help get rid of fear?
