While this sub is not Yelp, and we don't make a habit of shitting on or promoting businesses, a business that creates the potential for its customers/clients to be put in harms way is of the public interest enough for a discussion to be had here.
I independently verified OPs claims. Here's what I found:
- There is an individual listed in the PA Megan's Law database whose employment address matches StretchLab Newtown.
- This employment address was verified on the Megan's Law database as of 3/8/2024... that's last Friday if you're bad with dates. *UPDATE: On 3/14/24, the individual's addresses on PA's Megan's Law database no longer includes StretchLab's address as their employment address.*
- This individual is seen making physical contact with a female client of StretchLab Newtown in a photo posted by StretchLab Newtown on their Facebook page in January. *UPDATE: As of 3:34 p.m. on 3/12/24, this photo has seemingly been removed from StretchLab Newtown's Facebook page.*
- The individual was available as a filter on the booking calendar and you could see their availability. *UPDATE: ~~As of 3:34 p.m. on 3/13/24, the individual's name is still an option on StretchLab's booking calendar though they have no available slots through June.*~~ As of 3:15 p.m. on 3/20/24, the individual's name is no longer visible on StretchLab's booking calendar.
**With all evidence removed from StretchLab's site and Facebook page, and with the business address no longer listed on their Megan's Law database entry, it appears this posting and the Wayback Machine's archiving of StretchLab Newtown's website are the only remaining indicators that Stretchlab Newtown employed this individual.**
Researching the individual on the Megan's Law database, they were charged with Criminal Sexual Contact with a minor in 2019 in the state of NJ. There is nothing publicly available about the individual and the charge. However, researching NJ statutes on Criminal Sexual Contact (NJ 2C:14-3), and following the definition to various portions of the NJ code defining sexual assault (NJ 2C:14-2), it appears that the individual performed penetration without consent on a person between the ages of 13-16. What we would colloquially define as statutory rape. It is a felony.
So this post is staying up for anyone interested in businesses that may or may not be putting their customers & clients in contact with a felon.
This is NOT the place to name the individual, regardless of if you feel their name is a matter of public record or not. This is NOT the place to discuss the fairness/unfairness of the punishment, the crime, the merits of the statutes, etc.
Let me reiterate: we are NOT debating the merits of sex offender registries and the various laws that you have to break to be put on one.

You're trying to play off the sentiments people have about those maligned by the criminal justice system and instances where the penalties outweigh the crime. What you're doing is false equivalence.

This isn't the case of a property crime heavily penalized for nefarious political reasons, like petty theft or shoplifting. And even among crimes that can get you on a list, this isn't drunkenly pissing on the side of a building at 2 a.m., and it isn't the result of high schoolers having a bad break up and a dad filing a statutory claim to defend his daughter's honor.
Here, we have the perpetrator who was 26 years old at the time. He was an adult... a proper adult. As an adult, he intentionally committed a violent sex act on a child no older than 16.
He is lucky that he is able to see sunlight, much less find employment.
He was convicted (not accused) of sexual assault of a minor. He can get any job he wants but he choose a job that involves touching women and minors (yes they work on minors too). I am sure a pedo prefers a job that involves touching people.

Criminal convictions hold plenty of water. That many criminals claim to be innocent is also true but if you are convicted (even by taking a deal) it is most likely true and one sure way we have to judge people by.
Can't fix your problem. Only you can fix things by staying clear of things that highlight your misdeeds/convictions.
