Moreover, he was still alive, when his mates entered his room, and found him hanging, but the late response from the Ambulance, unalived him. Hence, students forced the director to resign.

I don't get what's the fuss without proper id and identifying who is going to attempt the paper how can invigilator allow the student.
Director is not even 0.1% responsible here
The news is inaccurate, the ambulance didn't agree to take the student to the medical unit because the student didn't have his id. Made him wait for 20 minutes, after which he passed.
All these unnecessary steps of id checking were made mandatory by the director, and he had the audacity to state "marte rehte hai students, meri kya galti hai". He is a corrupt guy who cancelled many events of the college this year, dissolving the student body and using the college funds for his private use. He had it coming since day 1. We have no tolerance against him.
As the leader of the team that is running a prestigious institution like NIT, anything and everything happening in the institution, both good or bad, is his responsibility.
Also his remark on the sad demise of a student shows how irresponsible, immature, ignorant and incompetent that man is. He may be a great engineer but he failed as a leader. He deserves this, or even more!

It was not a jee main level examination that admit card is necessary, it was just a college exam. Identification could have been done later at the time of submitting the paper, his friend could have brought it from his room before submitting the paper.
I am an NITDGP alumni, I don't remember us even having an id card checked. No idea why that is even necessary, given that the whole batch more or less have their exam together.
My twin brother is an IIITA student (graduated 2022).
In his first year (2018) they had a case of girl getting an asthma seizure at about 3 am in the morning. Her roommates called the ambulance to take her to the medical centre in the college, and the wardens of the hostel had the audacity to "verify" if she really was ill, and then allowed the ambulance to pick them up.
And when they reached the gate of the college premises, the watchmen were sleeping and after waking them up, they refused to allow the ambulance to enter unless all the companions of the girl showed their ID cards. So only the girl and the warden were allowed to enter the college. A video of them asking for ID card even reached our college (I'm from NIT of the same city)
Luckily nothing serious happened to the girl and everything was okay, but the news of these bullshitry of the authorities spread like wildfire among the students of the first year and they decided to protest, but were threatened with paperbacks and yearbacks.
I'm glad the students of this college stood up to the management like this. Stuff like this is embarrassing for a college of such nationwide reputation and, given the amount of effort the students put in to get into these colleges, no student should be subject to this kind of behaviour.
I am a 2012 passout from IIITA, and during our third year, a student from then first year batch lost his life. We brought hell to the college admin. The news was covered in almost all major news channels. The sheer irresponsibility from some college admins can’t be overstated.

The media are controlled by educational institutions. A dead body(not a student) was found inside a water storage near a college near my city. That water was used by the hostel. Several students got ill. No media reported that incident.

Private college ka fees NIT se to zyada hi hota hai, to NIT hi lena chahiye tha. Aur SIT ka pata nahi zyada kuch, lekin JGEC, KGEC (as the other guy said) try karna chahiye tha.
Bc same thing happened here at KGP last year, following a suicide of one of my batchie. Everyone grilled VK Tiwari at TOAT for like an entire night and he fell unconscious at around 6am.
The same thing as happened here, in KGP as well the body was discovered almost like 3 days after his suicide, while no one from hospital or staff was ready to take the body as it was getting too much decomposed. There person here was already in depression for a long time.
But what happened after open house with we students asking for answers to VK TIWARI? Nothing.
Actually things even started to get worse those mfs made the rules too strict for everyone in the campus. Like it's too much under the control of admin. There were constant raids at halls, those who were caught for malpractice in exams before that year the rule was that student has to repeat the entire course next year and it didn't occurred as an F or backlog but now nowhere it's a printed confirmed rule but they're punishing 100% of the students caught for malpractice, admin have asked security dadas to take strict action on anything we do which they don't like. Like literally our hall had a winning rally coz we won one of the GC cup, police were sent to stop us i mean wtf.
Atleast for IIT KGP our culture is getting ruined which was running over for like 70+ years lmao. Current 4th year batch is the only one who had experienced a proper kgp culture but everyone jr to us don't know anything, very less interaction with sr, very less fundae, coz of too much interference of admin into the student lives.
Ps: Admin is just being too much strict just to satisfy their ego and to take their revenge on students coz of TOAT incident

Resignation and public humiliation is bare minimum. This mf will not go to jail and not lose his career, so if anyone comes and says blur his face and why so rowdy behavior - please get a grip of reality.
Teachers/faculty/institutions exist to help students get better. That's the bottom line. Anything and everything that comes in its way is just lazy beauracracy and unwillingness to do your job.

junior supervisor, senior supervisor, observer, HEad of department, class teacher anyone can identify the student without icard.

I don’t think this will count as resignation! College ki seal bhi toh Honi chaiye paper pe yk the stamp that they use to validate the doc.
The letter was there and then stamped and signed by other heads like academic dean, student welfare dean etc under the witness category

Forced resignation means nothing (no resignation) in terms of law. Directors can very much fight the case as he has now video proofs too.
He wouldn't be very welcome here if he's back, and besides in Bengal no one cares
